Wash day vibes.

I swear my hair gets curlier every wash day.
Curl training really works!
Upside down styling was an absolute flop, I lost all my volume at my roots. Very strange considering upside down styling is meant to give you *more* volume. I’m going to stick with side to side styling from now on!
Learning to love the hair I was born with!

My skin HATED this sunscreen.
I was so hopeful - sunscreen usually breaks me out. This one looked so good, didn’t have anything that would break me out in it. After 2 days wearing this, no break outs. I was so excited!
Then my skin started to dry up. At first I thought I could ignore it, maybe I’d buy a more hydrating moisturizer. But it got worse and worse, and my skin started to feel so raw.
So I’ve had to stop using it. I’m very sad. I’m sure it’s a great sunscreen for many people, but it didn’t work for me at all.

Hair update!
This is what my hair looked like after last wash day.
Wow, what a difference! Drying my hair with a diffuser before bed has both made my hair fluffier and less frizzy. I guess I was probably experiencing ‘hydral fatigue’ from leaving my hair wet too long. Excited to wash my hair again tonight. I’m planning to use the ‘Plump’ method to encourage some big curl clumps.

Wash day flop + product haul.
My hair looks fine, but much less defined than last wash day. I only found one ringlet and I think I have more fly-aways. Maybe putting olive oil on my hair before showering was a bad idea - maybe my hair didn’t take in enough moisture? Or maybe it’s because I used a regular conditioner instead of a deep conditioner? Or maybe it’s because I left my hair wet all night in the bonnet - too much moisture??

Skin + hair update!
I tried sleeping in my hair not in a pineapple on top of my head, and in a large satin bonnet. I woke up with less frizz than usual, but the bonnet was too big and my hair wouldn’t stay on top of my head, so my curls at the back of my head ended up flattened. I think I need a satin wrap instead so that my curls will be secured on top. I will buy one of those and see how that goes.
Tonight is wash day. I’m going to be attempting the PMP method to prevent hydral fatigue. I’ll be putting olive oil on my dry hair 30 minutes before showering, washing, de-tangling after the shower with leave-in conditioner and styling with my tangle teezer, and then applying a sweet almond and argon oil mixture. We’ll see if this method helps to prevent frizz on my top layer, which tends to get soft and frizzy and lose definition.
I started using rosehip oil on my skin and it seems to be reacting well. I have 2 active acne pustules right on my jawline, and the rest is post-acne hyperpigmentation. I will continue to use niacinamide to fade those.
