i've said it before and i'll say it again, one of the most revealing scenes for shauna's character is that when she's just given birth and "buried" her baby she goes to the meat shed and cries out to talk to jackie's ghost. she doesn't beg for her parents, any other adult, or any of the other girls who are with her. she's begging for jackie, who she knows is dead, and when she realizes even her brain can't conjure her anymore, that's when she truly breaks that season. it's not an exaggeration to say that all of shauna's pain can in some way be connected back to her relationship with jackie. she was pregnant with jackie's boyfriend's baby and lost the child extremely traumatically and all she wanted was to be able to talk to her best friend after it.

Not sure if this is a hot take or not but original characters are just as important and interesting as already existing characters are. oc creators put a lot of love into creating their characters personalities, backstories, storyline and relationships with existing characters and I believe being able to create an entire person for a piece of media you like is really cool and especially for something like Lord of the flies. Lotf creators you aren’t cringe or whatever the rage bait anons on that one blog said you were you are creative people with the gift of creating and never forget that.

Ship wars here are incredibly tame in comparison to the other fandom im in because you can literally get sent death threats for not shipping a crack pairing between a victim of abuse with a side character who helped bully his friends while in the lord of the flies fandom people are incredibly respectful towards each other even if they don’t agree with certain ships. Lord of the flies fandom is a very positive community.
