Really interested in creating little enclosed heavy atmospheres, creating ambient noise to match photos/drawn environments. Normally I’d hate reusing deigns in different colourways but I like this poster

When it’s late and i’m too tired to do proper drawing work i’m now converting old gig posters into GBA screen sized pixel art.

I used to love making pixel art in ms paint when I was little and it’s giving me that DRAWING IS FUN feeling so hopefully this becomes a sweet little wind-down project while I get better at pixelling.

Here’s the storyboard I pitched when approached with the video.

This is technically the first storyboard I’ve done, (all previous videos I’d made being somewhat improvisational)  but since it’s basically the same as a comic I was ok.

You can see how I’d mapped out everything that happens in the song to time-cues so I could plan the action around it.

You can also see how some things differed with the actual final version, either due to time constraint or physical impracticability.

I plan on doing speculative storyboards for songs I don’t ever plan on animating it seems like a good exercise to practice with.

Reposting this because it is a lot of hours of my life. They gave me the song and I came up with and made everything in the vid myself. I think I’ll post some behind the scenes stuff because it was a fun process and things were learnt.
