The Straw Hats had been getting closer to a winter island in the last few days, the weather being colder and colder each day. 

It’s on one of these nights that Zoro woke up to a strange feeling. At first he tried to ignore it, but after a while of failing at it, he got up. The first thing he noticed was the lack of a certain blond cook sleeping in his hammock. 

He thought he could be in the galley doing gods know what. So, he decided to get up and go see if everything was okay. As soon as he arrived outside of the kitchen, he thought it was empty, but by listening carefully, he could hear whimpering and teeth chattering. He opened the door with the hand that wasn’t gripping his blanket over his shoulders and closed it right behind him, so as to keep the cold out.

As soon as he looked around the room, he saw someone on the couch in a fetal position, probably to keep themselves warm. He stepped closer, knowing full well who it was, and gently touched their shoulder.

The figure grunted and said almost in a breathy whisper, “What is it, you idiot swordsman?” Zoro ignored the insult, feeling the coldness of Sanji’s skin even through the layers of his clothes.

“You’ll freeze to death if you stay here, where’s your blanket?” Sanji turned his head to look at him and said, “I don’t have one.” Zoro frowned, thinking about how he had bought them for everyone. “Didn’t you buy us blankets on the last island?”

Sanji nodded and looked down, trying to avoid Zoro’s gaze. “Yeah, I did. But since we’re low on money, I bought them for you guys, but not for me, so that we could spare some berries.”

Zoro’s frown hardened and completely vanished at those words as he said, “You’re a self-sacrificing idiot. Scoot over, we’ll share.”

Sanji didn’t know what to do, but that didn’t matter, his body did what Zoro had requested on its own. He sat up and layed down on the couch, Zoro following suit. He draped the blanket over them both and scooted even closer to the blonde.

“Give me your hands, cook.” Sanji didn’t even question him and did as asked. Zoro took the cook’s hands and put them on his chest. Then, he put one of his on the small of Sanji’s back, to bring him closer. Sanji tensed for a second, only to relax in Zoro's embrace a second later. He placed his head on Zoro’s shoulder and sighed in contentment. Zoro had always been warm, and Sanji was glad of that, especially now that he was sharing that heat with him.

Luffy: If you don’t like your surname, you should take Zoro’s. It would suit you.

Ussop: Yeah.

Sanji: *sputtering* That’s not how it works.

Nami: Roronoa Sanji sounds good.

Zoro: It does sound good. You should keep it.

But he didn't, he stepped into the elevator, leaving him there with his heart broken.

Crowley got into his car and started driving. Where to he didn't know. He just wanted to get as far away from this heartbreaking place as he could.

But after all, it wasn't the place that had broken his heart. It was Aziraphale. And in the 6000 years that they have known each other, practically every place on Earth had memories of the two of them.
