Which means I've had this idea for longer than some people have been ALIVE. Almost as long as Kingdom Hearts has been a thing. I've been desperately looking for an excuse to get back to this someday, and finally I just gave up and decided that getting back to it was the excuse.

I don't think we know how to educate ourselves very well. This should be one of the fundamentals.

Potentially hot take but one of the reasons we need art and music in schools is that, taught correctly, they are ideal avenues for teaching kids how to do something, kinda suck at it, keep going anyways and improve over time.

And THAT is one of the most valuable skill sets a human being can have. THAT is the skill set that unlocks soooooo many others.

A LOT of people I see with anxiety and depression do not have this skill set. To suck at something is a threat. Proof that they are doomed to suck at it forever. And then, often, that either THEY suck forever or the task must be stupid/useless/pointless (whence we get AI art fans who have decided actually making art is pointless and degrading the labor and skills of others is fine because these are useless skills).

Or you get the freeze- the inability to try things in case you fail. The sudden lancing shame and humiliation or hopelessness. The sense that anything you haven't learned by now you can't learn. Which is so heartbreaking and so untrue.

I just hate it.

"What if I write it and it's bad" "what if I draw it and it's bad" "what if I play it and it sounds bad" DOING IT BAD IS HOW YOU LEARN TO DO IT GOOD! You can't skip the process of leaning and the process is FUN if you let it be what it needs to be!

Yosuke living rent-free in my head is a mood since September 2023.

ik you're more focused on the p3 au recently (which i love!) but p4 au lives rent-free in my head and i was wondering what u think the reactions of the rest of the IT would be upon first seeing yosuke's shadow form lol

thought about this for a while and even though it feels like kind of a cop-out answer, it also feels like the truth haha: EVERYONE would immediately accept him and not give a shit. there's so much less awkwardness and cageyness in the IT compared to SEES, both just from where they are comparatively at this point the story and their established familiarity, but also knowing that with each new member introduced, everyone has ALREADY been made intimately aware of the concept of the Shadow as a part of them (and have seen both the weird physicality of their shadows' superboss forms and the raw emotional exposure implications) vs just "the enemy and the Other that we are fighting"

lmaaooo turning yuka’s generic anime girl standing pose into maudlin angst fuel for my au, but—I like to think among all her Shadow form features, Yukari finds her hoof-hands particularly awful and unsightly (I imagine as an archer she must pride herself in her dexterity, and it took a lot of aggravating trial-and-error for her to even redevelop the ability to handle her bow in this form). she’s prone to instinctively hiding them behind her back the second she gets an inclination any of the others are looking her way.

Strega see the hybrid forms as something of a divine gift; yet another one of the Dark Hour's blessings that they both covet and are confounded by their ideological enemies' spurning of. what's unknown to both them and SEES at the time is something interesting buried in the Kirijo Group's research: the shadow/persona hybridization process seems to only initiate in individuals who are self-assured, strong-willed, and--even if it's deeply buried--posses an overwhelming drive to live, in opposition to a death-seeking personality. (basically, your Persona must "love you" enough to respond to your self preservation instincts and absorb/"eat" an attacking Shadow.) this is something the Strega members all notably lack......that is, until Chidori meets Junpei 🌚

i'm not dead! just had the 2024 that made me WISH i were lol. and the past 5 months of this year so far have been dedicated to scraping myself off of the pavement and slowly figuring out how to do everything again, including drawing. but i have been!! drawing!!! and will get some stuff queued up again here ASAP, so watch this space

I would die if I dined alone.

For the first time I went out to a new place in town, and for the first time I went to a restaurant alone to eat by myself-

The food was just ok, and i was very nervous- my paranoia & anxiety skyrocketed really bad. But im fine.

Like im alive & I had a decent meal and im just ok here, im home again, and i had a good walk

Today has been sort of a reminder to me that im alive; that I choose so much of my fate; and thats been really comforting

So I guess a reminder to you too- you’re alive and you can choose how to live your fate

To an extent at least

You might as well choose to have fun & experience things more often than not
