I run quickly to a job hiring but someone caged me in a box, preventing me to reach the company. I push the box forward, not minding the box s’ weight but it didn’t budge even a single bit. Then a man comes, whistling happy song. He enters the company without a sweat. I lean on the box and looked at the tape plastered on the box. “Woman ” it says. After many decades, men are still considered superior over women. Other people firmly believe that men are made to be dominant because they are much better physically and mentally, than women. Feminism is also a distasteful word to other men. They didn ’t like to “bring down ” their level to match with women. Despite of this old belief of women s’ inferiority, women nowadays still struggle to find opportunities in life that men can get instantly. Photo by/ Jam Sta. Rosa Written by/ Klimier Adriano

“Not even soap can make me clean again”. In the dark, she waves her hand, her eyes closed and her body - not hers. Women s’ decisions and choices are shrugged off. It does not matter if she wants it or not, as long as men ordered her to be the slave then she should abide. Women are not weaklings, but for love, they break apart. However we cannot point a finger on people they prioritize who, ironically, are the ones who pin them down and play with them ‘til they fall in the pit of sexual violence. Photo by/ Jam Sta. Pacify her she’ s getting on my nerves”. Powerless as they seem, children are the fragile and innocent. They feel the pain but never would they understand the reason behind the agony. They are surrounded by everything colorful as they deserve all the happiness in the world at their young age but what is served is something dull and tormenting. Scars are mapped on their skin and memories of discomfort stay with them. Not even affection can heal a juvenile s’ faultless heart. Photo by/ Jam Sta. Rosa Written by/ MC Paloma

It is quite surprising that some people would regard stalking as a form of compliment. If a man devotes his time to follow and keep himself updated about the activities and even whereabouts of the woman he is fond of, it is definitely not cute. Finding out that she is being watched makes the woman uncomfortable as it harms her safety and privacy. There are a million other ways to express appreciation and stalking will never make it to the list. Photo by/ Jam Sta. Rosa Written by/ Winona Sadia

Victim blaming has become the culture. This attitude towards victims of rape, abuse and violence is alarmingly being tolerated and accepted. This kind of approach continues to plague and degrade the standing of women in society and how they are treated. Women continue to worry about judgmental eyes and tongue which bugs and poisons their anxieties. Photo by/ Jam Sta. Rosa Written by/ Chey Brazal

“Bite my skin, tear me apart”. One wrong move, they are judged. One unwanted action, they are pulled in the abyss of eternal discrimination. It is a repeat cycle of pain and torment because they seldom fight for liberty. But can we blame them for not hurting the accused if the suspect is someone dear to them? Its’ an unstoppable cycle ‘til she scrambles to death. Photo by/ Jam Sta. Rosa

She broke up with her fiancé because he told her that she should stay at home and just be a “ woman”. Its’ 2017, for Pete’ s sake! Labor force does not only include men. She wanted to do more and she can do a lot more than just staying at home, preparing dinner and waiting for her husband to arrive. Like any other men, she had ambitions and goals she wanted to achieve. Her diploma is not just a decoration on her home. Her gender will not define her limits. She is not just a woman, she is a woman. Photo by/ Jam Sta. Rosa Written by/ Klimier Adriano

We are made for lots of things. Women can do anything they want—and still be respected sans the labeling. A female lawyer and a “call girl” both have equal rights to respect and acknowledgement. A studious student and a girl who parties around both have dreams and other interests other than what they mostly want to do—so why label? To put all girls living the same lifestyle under the same umbrella of these so-called standards and classifications will never be an effective way to describe femininity. Women never asked to be classified, anyway. So why bother? Photo by/ Jam Sta. Rosa Written by/ Audrie Bernas

Sexual harassment may be the highest form of abuse of one's’ personal space, and can be considered as rape. Women are faced with the fear of being harassed every day, anywhere: the streets, in public transport and even in schools. This is often done by strangers—strangers these women had no interaction with ever strangers they don’t wish to have acquaintance with. Women could be minding their own business: going on ruminations while walking or on public transport and suddenly getting something they’re not asking for from a total stranger. Nauseous enough to send someone on a contemplative episode. Photo by/ Jam Sta. Rosa Written by/ Klimier Adriano

Tick, tock, tick, tock. The clock stroke 1o’ clock in the morning. My heart slammed with the door when he entered the house. The breaking of the glasses and plates was my cue that I should run and hide. Tick, tock, tick, tock. He screamed my name ruefully with the voice that used to call me dearly when mom was alive. Heavy footsteps were slowly getting louder. Tick, tock, tick, tock. My skin was almost filled with purple and green. Tick, tock, tick, tock. My door opened and it revealed an intoxicated with alcohol creature in a shape of my dad. I readied myself for another purplish and greenish painting that will be covering my skin. Photo by/ Jam Sta.
