What if Regulus followed Voldemort because it was the only father figure who actually listened to him? 

What if Voldemort genuinely listened to Regulus’ idea, what if they talked and talked so much that Regulus ended up having the feeling he finally had a dad? 

What if Voldemort saw Regulus as a decent legacy or as someone he could use to recruit other witches and wizards? Because after all, he was a Black, pureblood, aristocrat, well respected and a talented wizard.

What if Voldemort used it against him, what if he knew how desperate Regulus was for some father figure approval? Regulus would’ve been easier to manipulate if he thought he was cared for. Because that’s what Regulus always wanted, being loved and cared about. 

What if Regulus finally realised he was lied to once again? He was betrayed and used. 

What if something made him madly angry and he decided that this time, he would fuck the person’s life in a sneaky way that Voldemort wouldn’t see coming? 

What if Regulus wanted was vengeance and betrayed someone that made him think he was for once seen?
