WIP Wednesday for my other fix-it fic:

Escaping The Spirit Realm.

A little more plot, a little more pining, a little more emotionally constipated Viktor and yearnatron 3000 Jayce.

I don’t know where I read it, but the rune on Jayce’s wrist is supposed to be a rune Ryze is trying to find.

Know what’s interesting that not a lot of people talk about…. it’s this.

Now, Jayce’s backstory is…very vague. Probably the most vague out of anyone in the main cast. Only his house and their occupation are known… and it’s entirely added by the show. Because in the game, his last name was either given or changed after he was adopted by the Giopara clan. We don’t even know why Jayce and his mother had ended up in the blizzard in the first place. Or where the rest of this ‘family’ is. Only a picture of his father is BARELY seen and only in one shot of the show. Looking to have died when he was a young child.

Most people I know, including myself, assume that though Jayce’s Father was a Talis, his mother and himself had immigrated. Maybe forced to move after the father died. Go where Jayce would have the best chance and all that. But all this is narrow speculation. But this science isn’t if you look it up.

The first scene of the show shows a mage rescuing Jayce and his mother. He’s mainly shadowed. Now, before, Arcane was expected to have five seasons, but this….

Ryze, the RUNE MAGE from the League of Legends game.

So, this would mean…that the first shot ever in the show, wasn’t from the timeline that’s shown.

That this is the first Jayce from old Viktor’s timeline.

That he’s been reenacting Jayce’s rescue in Ryze’s stand for every timeline.

Which I can only assume… is because sometimes, in some other timelines. Ryze never appears. Meaning, until Viktor, Jayce is rarely destined for a long life. Never getting to meet Viktor….

Which is why Viktor persists so much… why he intervenes.

Viktor turned to him, the motion loose and reedlike, and placed his hand across Jayce’s wrist—contact like condensation: present and undeserved.

“Oh?” he said, eyes still on the straw. “But your hands seem so… capable.”

Jayce didn’t answer. The warmth of that touch bloomed slowly through his skin. The doll listed to one side, straw protruding like bone. Something about it struck him as funny in that soft, sick way where nothing quite held the shape it was meant to. He was unraveling, gently. Pleasantly.

Viktor’s touch slid upwards, settling on his palm, and Jayce’s spine rang with it. The air rang with it. It wasn’t loud, but it went on.

Something in the orchard sighed.

I’ve been going through it.

I had plans to write a JayVik fic with actual plot and adventure type of deal as I had the whole outline mapped out, but then I got my heart broken by a stupid boy and all inspiration has left my soul.

Right now, I am using this time to heal and write down my feelings so I can use that angst for my writing (😭🥲🤣🤣)

Thank you to everyone that follows me, continues to read my fics, and to @inubaki for the two fic recs. I’ll get to them once I am out of this slump. Just feeling sucky.
