Rupaul famously said, “We’re all born naked and the rest is drag.” To me, drag is an artistry. It is about self-expression and emboldening your persona to be the mega, ultra, glamazonian superstar that you are. There are no rules to it. My drag name is Sparkles, which is what I used to call myself when I was 3 years old. The #FantasyFashion looks I’ve created this year are indeed an extension of my drag persona. Sparkles is a fantasy: she is timeless, regal, whimsical and majestic. I hope you’ve enjoyed the looks I’ve put together, and I hope to elevate the fantasy and share it with you all in the coming new year.

In a world where everyone is entitled to their opinion, it’s easy to be judgmental. I know I have.

However, I encourage all of us to try not to judge. Our perception and scope cannot encapsulate the entirety of another’s experience. It’s important to recognize our perceptual limitations and know that another’s existence cannot be surmised by a single judgmental thought.

Today we honor those who lost their lives to anti-transgender violence and discrimination. No one should lose their life for living authentically. I long for a world where equality thrives, where freedom prevails, and everyone feels safe and protected in their gender identity and expression.

This tail is a special project I’ve been developing for awhile. Unlike my past tails and most tails sold by professional companies, this tail is designed to be as “realistic” as possible by minimizing the bend in the knees and ankles. This method of an “extended” tail was created by the special effects company JMBFX studios for the hit tv show “H20: Just Add Water,” and the mermaid movie “Aquamarine.” The tail was a quite a workout to swim in and there are definitely imperfections, but a lot of the new methods I used worked, and I know exactly what to do differently for future tails. I hope you love seeing my art— it’s been a dream come true💙
