The protesters are not calling for peace. They’re calling for the elimination of Jewish Israel.

Don’t let their right to peaceful protest (when they’re not harassing Jewish students) obscure the fact that they’re not calling for peace.

We should be focusing on supporting Jewish students in the face of campus harassment.

It’s stupid and wrong to use force against the protesters, however, ignorant and/or hateful. It’s counterproductive and just making them look like heroes.

We should be talking about the ridiculous arguments they’re making and why it’s hurtful to the Jewish community. But they have a right to be stupid, hurtful, and hateful. Instead, we’re making official overreaction and use of force the story.

I choose to stand with Jewish students and not waste my time with the protesters.

And when I posted this elsewhere, the responses cheered the abolition of Israel and accused me of supporting genocide.

Because I opposed the rape, kidnapping, and murder of Jews.

One can question Columbia University’s (and Israel’s) tactical choices, but it’s still the case that the protestors are supporting the elimination of Israel and excusing the rape, kidnapping, and murder of Jewish people.
