A lot of people go into dating believing they know what they want, only to discover after some dating experiences that they actually don't. SOMEONE MAY BENEFIT FROM THIS! ©️ Jerome Yaovi Onipede A Client of mine called me to cancel our appointment, and knowing she had looked forward to it all week, I asked why she cancelled, and she said she was attending a class in hairdressing and dress making, and her Teacher was only going to be available that weekend. With a good job and position in the bank, I asked why she was learning dressmaking and hairdressing, and she said she was relocating out of the country and needed some SURVIVAL SKILLS to get her by while she was settling down. I understood her to a large extent, because for some years now, Lawrenta and I have been co-hosting RETREATS, and the Purpose of these Retreats is to help Families, Couples, Individuals, etc, discover more about themselves by engaging their Thinking, Personal and Interpersonal Skills proactively. Alongside these Retreats, we also run Youth Retreats that we Personally Sponsor here in Benin Republic where Life/Survival Skills are taught. We are aware that Youths and even Adults with Poor life skills may get into mischief, so why keep complaining if something can be done about it.  Most of the Youths who come from Nigeria to study here find it difficult to keep up mostly because of the Exchange Rate. In 2007, you exchanged One Thousand Naira for Four Thousand CFA, but at the time of writing this, it is One Thousand Naira for One Thousand CFA. And after the exchange, the cost of living has gone up too. Lawrenta and I realised that one of the ways the Youths coming in here to study can survive is to learn Survival Skills that can make them add value to the Society while they are being paid for it which is better than engaging in mischief, so that they are able to take care of themselves while in School. So far at these Youth Retreats, we have extensively run Workshops on "Pastries" and "Understanding Your Personality Advantage'' which is taken by Lawrenta and I. HOW EXACTLY DOES GOD JOIN TOGETHER IN MARRIAGE? ©️ Jerome Yaovi Onipede.  As I was about to write this, I checked the dictionary meaning of JOIN, and I didn't see any close enough to describe the work God does with the Man and his Wife in Marriage. I also checked the synonyms of Join, and nothing was close to it, then I checked JOINED TOGETHER, but still couldn't find anything close.  You see there are times that no English word can describe God's Work, and when it comes to Marriage that is quite obvious, otherwise we wouldn't be having so much misunderstandings as we do presently when it comes to having an intellectual grasp of this institution, yet we never give up do we? We seem to be a generation that always wants to explain spiritual concepts carnally until what was created to be a blessing to us ends up becoming a curse. We have always had men in and out of the Bible, who have always thought it wise in times of chaos to always go back to God for the Truth about what is expected of us in certain crucial matters and times, but today everybody seems to be an expert, and we would rather walk and work in our own light, rather than God's Light. Yet what we consider as light to our own detriment is actually GROSS DARKNESS, and if you take a closer look you will realise that humanity is actually losing her way. Like never before, we have so many exceptional, hyperintelligent women and men, yet the world is plunged into Economic, Health, Marital, Familial, etc Crisis.  When God joins a Man and his Wife in marriage, it is usually beyond our wildest imagination and comprehension especially for the Couples involved, because it's not like when two materials, things, ideas, etc are joined together and you can still say which is which, but in the case of Marriage, IF GOD IS ALLOWED TO WORK, you come to the point where you can't tell the difference. (That's why a man will leave his own father and mother. He marries a woman, and THE TWO OF THEM BECOME LIKE ONE PERSON. WHO WANTS YOU NAKED 2 ©️ Lawrenta Omono Onipede  Hi aunty, I'm not naked! I do have clothes on, you know.  Besides, I'm tired of being judged and criticized. My dress style is a statement against bigotry and the double standards women suffer. I choose to stand in my power, empowered and confident for I am Woman! Yes Dear, YOU ARE WOMAN!   A Beautiful Work of The Master's Hands. A masterpiece and the delight of all eyes. (psalm 139:14) But darling, standing in power is not what they are telling you it is. To be empowered means: To make (someone) stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights. I will give you an example of what this means, Several years ago when I was in my teens. There was this boy who liked me a lot. One day he dropped by my house unannounced. I had on a pair of very low shorts and since I had rounded out hips,  the shorts fitted snugly on me. Oh My! Our guy couldn't stop gawking at my hips. All through the conversation, his eyes drank me in like I was a glass of juice. After a while, I excused myself and returned wearing a wrapper around my hips. You should have seen his face, he was so disappointed and wouldn't stop pouting. On that day I stood in my power when I chose to adjust my outfit. It wasn't the clothing that empowered me. Neither the Shorts or Wrapper I tied around my hips could empower me.  My power was coming from a decision I had made as a 9-year-old child never to allow anyone to exploit me sexually again. You see, I had discovered from a book  I read "Every Woman's Health" that the game I had been playing with the uncle next door was sex. The knowledge I received from the book gave me the strength (POWER) needed to put an end to the abuse. Listen, Girl, TRUE EMPOWERMENT has certain characteristics. It always builds up, it does not pull down. It strengthens it does not undermine. It clothes you with strength and dignity it does not debase. EMPOWERMENT gives you the knowledge and strength to make informed choices that improve the quality of your life. YOU CAN'T GET OR STAY MARRIED IN THIS CONDITION!  ©️ Jerome Yaovi Onipede  Marriage was designed by God to be a place of rest, refuge, resort, bliss, honor, fidelity, unquenchable joy, fruitfulness, reward, comfort, harbor, shelter of Unconditional Love, etc. AND THAT IS WHAT IT IS! Now what about you, who were you designed to be? According to Genesis 1:26-27, God didn't just make man, but went as far as making him in His Own Image, and after His Likeness. This was done so that MAN CAN ALWAYS FIND HIS IDENTITY IN GOD. And that's the highest privilege in creation.  However, man would rather be independent of anyone just because HE GOT THE IDEA OF INDEPENDENCE COMPLETELY WRONG WITH THE HELP OF THE DEVIL right from the garden of Eden up till now as he continues to reject or wants to have nothing to do with His Creator, and as a result ROMANS 1:28-32 (though you can read from verse 18) tells us that: "Since they didn’t bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose.  And then all hell broke loose:  rampant evil, grabbing and grasping, vicious backstabbing. They made life hell on earth with their envy, wanton killing, bickering, and cheating.  Look at them:  mean-spirited, venomous, fork-tongued God-bashers. Bullies, swaggerers, insufferable windbags!  They keep inventing new ways of wrecking lives.  They ditch their parents when they get in the way.  Stupid, slimy, cruel, cold-blooded.  And it’s not as if they don’t know better. They know perfectly well they’re spitting in God’s face. And they don’t care—worse, they hand out prizes to those who do the worst things best!" When we get into Marriage in this condition, we reverse the purpose of God for the institution and can never get the benefits of God from it.   …and so when someone tells you that God's Institutions don't work or are outdated, just pray that God will have mercy on such a person. HOW MANY PERSONS HAVE YOU KISSED INTIMATELY? ©️ Jerome Yaovi Onipede  If there is truth in any statement that you will be reading here, it's the fact that "GOD DID NOT MAKE US FOR EXPERIMENTS." God made us to be Genuinely Loved by Him. He does not sit in Heaven and put us in different situations and circumstances to see how we will respond or react. He is not trying to figure us out. Everything that needs to be known about us is already known by Him before we were conceived in our mother's womb. The only way that we can know much about ourselves is through an honest relationship with the God who already knows everything about us, because HE CREATED US, and His Thoughts toward us are THOUGHTS OF PEACE, and not of evil (Jeremiah 29:11). However, we continue to lack that Peace, because we will rather figure things out by ourselves, and by doing so turn ourselves into Laboratory Rats used for all sorts of experiments.  It's Time we looked inwardly. All these experiments with intimate kisses with people that don't belong to us, neither do we belong to, experiments with sex, drugs, relationships, skills used illegally, etc, has never brought us close to WHO WE REALLY ARE, but has only taken us far from it, and in our confusion we don't only make ourselves miserable, but also those we come in contact with.  Sometimes we think we are in control by so doing, but all the persons you have had sex with or kissed intimately has never put you in control, but only makes you a wreck who is so vulnerable to living a script that was never meant to be. The only way I know that you can have control of your life back is by giving the control you assume you have to God, and HE WILL PUT YOU IN A PLACE OF AUTHORITY, AND GIVE YOU POWER TO LIVE YOUR LIFE THE WAY YOU WERE CREATED TO LIVE IT.
