vi x reader, where in childhood they were somewhat involved with each other . Like you can tell the love is there but they have yet to realize it themselves. And when they went to save vander, reader got hit in the head and loses their memory. And Vi is put in prison.
then Vi gets out, and they find each other. And Vi hugs reader and goes on a good “i missed you, there wasn’t a day i haven’t though about you” spiel, and reader just doesn’t know how to feel about it. Because in their mind this is just some stranger. But at the same time they feel like they know and care deeply about this stranger.
Forgotten
Vi x reader
Word count: 1,275
Warnings: some mentioned deaths (that's all I think.)
This is the first ever request I've ever done so I hope I meet the expectations of the person who send this request.
Tumblr media
You and Vi grew up together in the the lanes. life wasn't easy, but you had each other, and that made it bearable. she'd always mess with you, messing with your hair, ruffling it playfully whenever she got the chance. You'd pretend to be annoyed, swatting her hand away with a huff, but secretly, you liked it. It made you feel warm inside.
After her fights, you'd sit her down and patch up her scraped knuckles, muttering about how reckless she was, She'd grin at you, acting like it didn't hurt, but you always knew better. You could see through her tough exterior, and she could see right through yours. Neither of you ever said what you felt, but it was there, in lingering glances, unspoken gestures, and the way your hearts seemed to beat in sync.
Then everything changed.
It happened when Silco made his move. Watching Benzo-your father figure, the man who had taken you in when you had no one else, fall dead right in front of you helpless to stop it, shattered you. The thought of Vander meeting the same fate was unbearable. And the idea of Vi having to endure the pain of losing him, too, was more than you can handle. You couldn't let that happen.
So when vi decided to go after him, you went too. You stayed by her side as the others followed, determined to save Vander.
You were right beside her when the explosion went off. The force of it knocked you off your feet, and pain seared through your entire body like fire. The last thing you saw before the world went dark was her pink hair splayed on the ground unmoving.
When you woke up, everything was gone. Vander. Claggor. Mylo. Vi. Even your memories.
All that remained were fragments, hazy feelings of warmth and safety tied to a face you couldn't quite place.
Years later-
Life without your memories felt hollow. The Lanes still felt familiar in a way you couldn't explain, like a melody you couldn't recall but keep humming anyway. you did whatever you had to do to survive, jobs you weren't proud of, choices you tried not to think about. You pieced together a new life, but no matter how hard you tried, it always felt incomplete.
And then she appeared.
You were carrying a crate of scavenged parts through the bustling streets, just trying to make it another day, when someone stepped in front of you, blocking your path.
"Hey" You began, irritation flaring. But when your gaze meet hers, the words died in your throat, she looked familiar.
The girl, no, woman stood frozen, her pink hair catching the dim light. Her wide eyes, a mix of disbelief and something far deeper, softened as they locked onto you.
"Y/N…" She breathed, her voice cracking.
The name sounded foreign to you, yet it struck something deep inside, a string you hadn't realized was there. Before you could react, she rushed towards you and wrapped her arms around you. The crate in your hands fell to the ground with a loud clatter, its contents scattering everywhere.
Her hold was tight, desperate, as if she were afraid you might disappear. "Gods" She whispered, her voice trembling "I missed you so much. There wasn't a day I didn't think about you. I-I thought you were dead after the explosion."
Her words pierced the fog in your mind, stirring emotions you couldn't explain. Images flickered in your head. flashes of pink hair, laughter, a hand reaching for yours in the dark. You didn't know her, not really. And yet…
The way her voice trembled, the way she held you like you were her lifeline. It felt familiar. Like home.
"I…" your voice wavered as you pulled back, stepping out of her embrace. The confusion and overwhelming emotions made it hard to think. "Y-you know me?" You swallowed hard, shaking your head, "I don't… I don't remember. I don't remember you"
Her expression faltered, the pain flickering across her face like a fleeting shadow. She took a shaky breath, forcing a small, fragile smile. "That's alright" she murmured, her voice trembling but steady enough to hide the heartbreak beneath it "We'll figure it out together. I'm not letting you go this time."
The days that followed were a whirlwind of emotions. Vi tried to reconnect with you, sharing stories of your childhood together, each one laced with hope that might ignite a spark of recognition. sometimes, fragments of those memories felt familiar, like shadows of something long lost. But just as quickly, they slipped away, leaving you more confused than before. How could someone care so deeply for you when you couldn't even remember who they were?
And yet, there were moments. Her laugh carried warmth that tugged at something buried deep within you. the way she said your name felt like home, even if you didn't understand why. The fire in her eyes when she talked about protecting you stirred something unspoken, something that felt like it had always been a part of you.
Despite the confusion, you couldn't help but feel drawn to her. Maybe it was the tenderness in her gaze, or the way your heart raced whenever she smiled. or perhaps it was something deeper. Something you couldn't name but felt in every fiber of your being, like a truth just out of reach.
one night, sitting on the rooftop, the hum of the lanes below was a distant murmur in the silence between you. You sat side by side with Vi, the weight of unspoken thoughts in the cool night air.
"Vi…" you began, your voice quiet as you stared out at the city "I-I don't know if I'll ever remember everything. I don't know if I can be the person you remember" You hesitated, your fingers twisting together nervously "But I want to try. I want to be that person for you"
Vi turned to you, her gaze soft but unwavering, her expression a mixture of hope and understanding. "you don't have to be anyone but who you are now" she said gently, her voice steady "I just… I just want to be here with you"
Her words stuck something deep within you, cutting through your uncertainty. for a moment, you were overwhelmed by how much this woman. this stranger who somehow felt like home. Had given herself to find you again.
"Vi…" you murmured, your voice trailing off as her eyes locked with yours. The space between you seemed to shrink, the weight of everything unsaid hanging heavy in the air.
slowly, tentatively, you leaned toward her, your heart pounding in your chest. She met you halfway, her lips warm and soft against yours. Her kiss was gentle yet filled with a quiet desperation, as though she had been holding back for years, waiting for this moment.
It wasn't just a kiss. It was a connection. A fragile bridge between the fractured pieces of your past and the uncertain promise of your future.
When you pulled back, your foreheads rested together, your breaths mingling as you both tried to steady yourselves. Vi smiled, her voice soft and teasing, though her eyes glistened with emotion "I've waited a long time for that, you know"
you couldn't help but smile back, a warmth blooming in your chest that chased away the lingering doubts "I think… maybe I've been waiting too. I just don't realize it"
in that moment, the weight of the past seemed lighter. What mattered wasn't what had been lost but the connection you were building now. one step, one moment at a time, together.

Hi, so I was wondering if you could do a fic about the ending of Arcane? Like just something happier? I personally didn't like the ending and just wished it was happier. If not, that's okay.
Love your work 💓
Of course I think I can do that ;] Is there any character you would like me to focus on?
Yeah I share your feelings, not a fan of the ending either. But I'm holding to the rumors that at least Jinx is not really dead (I'm really hoping that's the case) :'(
Thank you! that means a lot ♡

Just cuddling with Jinx
Jinx x gn!reader
Warnings: bitting that's all
I'm pretty sure I don't use any pronouns for reader (But if I did pls let me know.)
Request are open!
Tumblr media
The two of you are in bed after a long day, Jinx sprawled on top of you with her arms wrapped around your torso, her head nestled against your neck. Her breath is warm against your skin. each exhale soft and even. Moments like this, where she is relaxed and quiet can be quite rare.
Thinking she's asleep, you gently caress her long blue hair, savoring the peacefulness of the moment. The rise and fall of her breathing, the warmth of her body pressed against you, it all feels so serene, a brief scape from the chaos that usually surrounds her. But just as you're lost in the calm, without any warning, she shifts slightly, her face pressing closer to your neck. Suddenly, you feel the sharp sting of teeth sinking into your skin.
"Ah! Jinx!" you whine, your neck throbbing in protest as you flinch. "I told you not to bite me" you scold her, trying to gently push her away. But instead of backing off, she only tightens her grip around you, her giggles muffled against your skin.
"Nooo" she protest, nuzzling deeper into your neck, trying to stay comfortable "I just want everyone to know you're still mine!"
You cant help but chuckle at her reasoning, shaking your head in amusement "Jinx, I think they get the message without the bite marks" you tease
"Maybe, buuut bite marks are way more memorable!" she replies, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
you sigh, playfully exasperated. "You're impossible, you know that?" you say poking her sides just enough to make her squirm and burst into giggles.
"That' just another word for extra especial" she says with a grin, finally loosening her grip enough for you to turn and face her, her eyes locking onto yours for a brief moment. Then, before you can react, she leans in, Planting a quick kiss on your lips before immediately burying her face back into your bitten neck once again, her giggles vibrating against your skin.
You chuckle softly, shaking your head. "You're really something, you know that?" you murmur, your fingers returning to her hair, gently threading through the tangled strands.
Even with her strange, sometimes chaotic ways of showing love, there's something comforting about it. Despite the bites, the mischief, and the madness, you wouldn't change a thing. you let out a contented sigh, holding her close, the warmth of her body and the sound of her quiet giggles filling the room.
In her own wild, unpredictable way, Jinx is everything you need.

Echoes of Insanity Ch. 3
Monsters and Heroes
Jinx (Powder) x twin sister
Tumblr media
Past-
The room is dimly lit, the soft patter of rain tapping against the windows. Their family's one room home is small, but cozy. With their parents sleeping not far away on a small bed tucked into the corner.
Vi crouches low, her hands curled into playful claws as she pretends to be a growling monster. Little Powder and Ash giggle as they scramble behind a makeshift fort, built from old blankets and boxes.
"I'm a monster! and I'm gonna get you!" Vi says
She keeps her voice low, careful not to wake their parent, but playful menace in her tone sends shivers through the room.
Powder and Ash, once smiling, suddenly exchange wide eyed glances as Vi prowls toward them. Their excitement shift to unease as Vi lets out a quiet roar, the sound a little too loud for comfort in the cramped space.
"No… Vi, stop…" Ash whimpers.
Ash's voice trembles, and she and Powder huddle together, trying to hide beneath the blankets, their small bodies shaking with fear.
Vi's heart sinks the moment she sees their faces. Making her drop the "monster" act instantly.
"Hey, Hey, it's okay! I'm not a monster anymore." Vi says softly and reassuringly.
She steps toward them, her eyes widening in playful alarm as she pretends to spot something behind them.
Vi gasp "Wait… I see it! The monster!"
Powder and Ash both whip their heads around, wide eyed, searching frantically for the monster.
"Where? Where is it?" Ash whispers worried.
Tears well up in both Ash's and Powder's eyes, their imaginations running wild. Vi, quick on her feet, grabs an old stick lying nearby and swings it dramatically through the air.
"There! I'll get it! Don't worry, I'll save you!" Vi says
She swing the stick through the air, pretending to fight off the invisible monster. With each exaggerated swipe, the fear in her sisters faces melts away, replaced with awe and laughter.
"Get it Vi!" Powder says giggling.
"Go, Vi!" Ash cheers.
They watch as Vi delivers one final, exaggerated blow, defeating the invisible monster. She stands up, breathing heavily.
"It's gone. You're safe now" Vi grins proudly.
Powder and Ash rush forward, wrapping their arms around Vi in a tight hug, their earlier fear completely forgotten. Vi smiles, wrapping her arms around them pulling them closer.
"see? I won't let any monster hurt you." Vi says tucking them in the bed with her.
She lays down with them on the small bed, the three of them nestled together, safe and warm under the blankets. the soft sound of rain continues outside as their world becomes a little smaller and safer, wrapped up in each other.
Present-
We walk through the dimly lit interior of The Last Drop, heads down, going down into the basement room, we drop onto different couches Powder and me siting close together, the tension hanging thick in the air.
"Vander learns none of this." Vi mutter, her voice low but firm
"No worries there. Powder and Ash took care of the evidence" Mylo says
"We tried, okay?" Powder shoots back defensively. I chime in "You don't get it you're older" frustration bubbling up in my voice.
"You're bigger!. It, it isn't fair!" Powder adds, her small fists clenched in frustration.
"So stick with us!" Mylo snaps, his voice harsh, his anger barely contained. "Take a punch or two."
The sudden creak of a door cuts through the air, and we all turn as Vander steps in, his eyes landing on Vi, who tries to avoid his gaze. Powder and I shrink into the couch, clutching each other, trying to blend into the couch.
"Everyone alright?" Vander's voice is calm as he descends the stairs.
"Never better." Mylo says a bit of sarcasm in his voice.
"Good" Vander responds "I don't suppose you can explain why it is that I'm hearing about an explosion" he continues, his hands on his back as he walks through the room "and a foot chase topside? five children fleeing the scene."
Nobody meet his eyes everyone trying to look elsewhere.
"What the hell were you thinking?" Vander's voice rises, his frustration seeping through.
"That we could handle a real job." Vi finally snaps, lifting her head to meet his gaze with defiance.
"A real job?" Vander repeats, incredulity in his voice.
"We got our own tip, planned a route, nobody ever saw." Vi says, he voice sharpening as the anger builds.
"You blew up a building!" Vander shoot back.
"That wasn't-" Vi begins but Vander cuts her off, his patience worn thin.
"Did you ever stop to think about what could have happened to you?" he nearly shouts "eh? To them?" he gestures towards us, but we avoid his gaze, trying to disappear.
"Where did you even get this tip?" Vander presses, turning his attention fully to Vi.
"We heard it at Benzo's shop." Powders blurts out, drawing everyone's attention to her.
"From?" Vander asks, his brow furrowed.
"Little Man" she admits, her voice small.
Vander lets out a heavy sigh.
Vi stands, stepping closer to him "I took us there. if you wanna be mad, be mad at me" she says, her voice steady "But you're the one who always says we have to earn our place in this world"
Vander's face hardens "I also told you time and time again, the northside's off limit" Vander shouts at Vi "We stay out of Piltover's business"
"Why?" Vi shoots back, her voice rising again "They've got plenty, while we're down here scraping together coins. When did you get so comfortable living in someone else's shadow?"
The rooms falls silent, Even Mylo. We all look at them in silence
"everyone out" Vander says, his voice calm.
Vander and Vi face each other as the rest of the gang stand and leave the room. I grab Powder's hand and together we slip out of the room.
We head upstairs, leaving Vander and Vi behind the room, their voices jus a murmur now. Claggor and Mylo stop outside the door trying to eavesdrop, Mylo leans his ear against the door. But Powder and I make our way to the back door of The Last Drop. Neither of us say a word as we step into the alley, the door creaking shut behind us. The cool air brushes against our skin, but we keep holding hands, a silent comfort.
I glance at Powder. her blue eyes wide with lingering guilt.
"Do you think… Vi's mad at us?" She finally whispers, her voice almost trembling.
I squeeze her hand "I-I don't know" I admit.
"I-I hate this" Powder whispers her lip quivering. "We mess everything up. We always do"
"It's not our fault" I reply, though my voice wavers, not fully convinced myself.
Powders look at me, her eyes shiny with unshed tears. "but.. what if Mylo is right? What if we're just… jinxes?"
I pause, letting her words linger in the air. "He's wrong" I say, this time more firmly, though doubt nags at me too "We can probe him wrong, we just need to try harder"
Powder squeezes my hand tighter, a flicker of hope igniting behind her worried expression. "You really think so?"
"I know so" I say offering a small, reassuring smile. "Let's see what we can find around here. Maybe we can build something new a better bomb"
Her face lights up at the suggestion, the spark of invention returning to her eyes "yeah! Let's do that!"
Together, we start searching through the alley, our eyes scanning the ground and near by trash bins. We approach a rusted pipe, and I try to twist the cap off, but it's stuck "Help me, Powder" I say, and together we manage to pry it open.
peering inside, I spot something shiny at the bottom. I stretch my arm in, trying to reach it, but it's just out of grasp. "Too far" I mutter
"I'll try" Powder offers. She slides her arm in, streatching her fingers toward the object.
While she tries to reach the object, I glance over and notice Claggor and Vander slipping out the back door, carrying a bag full of something. They don't say a word, just passing us by in silence.
"Got it!" Powder exclaims, pulling out the small, gleaming object. She holds it up to show me, and I reach to grab it. We both turn it over in our hands, examining it closely. Once I let go, Powder tucks it into her pocket.
As she does, her fingers brush against something else, the blue crystals we took from the workshop, She takes one out of her pocket and her hand closes around it, Her eyes widening. "We have to show this to Vi"
Without wasting another moment, we run back to the door, and hurry downstairs to the basement, jumping the last step.
As we reach the ajar basement door. Just as we're about to entry, we hear the voices from within. Mylo's speaking to Vi.
"they're a problem" Mylo grumbles.
Vi sighs. "Mylo, I'm really not-"
But Mylo cuts her off. "Do you remember what was in that bag?" He throws a ball against the wall, catching it on the rebound "The biggest payout we've ever seen, and they just lost it"
"They made a mistake" Vi says, defending us.
Mylo throws the ball again. "Name one time they haven't"
"They're young" Vi replies, her voice quieter but firm.
"Don't bullshit me" Mylo snaps, tossing the ball against the wall again "You were twice the person at half their age."
"You know what, Mylo you're right" Vi says.
Her words hit me hard, a surge of emotions bubbling up, anger, sadness, confusion. It all mixes together in a tight knot inside me.
"There's a bunch of things Powder and Ash just can't do" Vi continues, her voice steady but sharp.
"You don't need to tell me twice" Mylo mutters, throwing the ball again.
I can't listen to this anymore. I grab Powder's arm, and we quietly slip away, heading to our room. I don't want to hear another word.
Once inside, I let go of her arm and sit down on the bunk bed, starring at the wall in silence. The weight of everything sinks in, pressing down on my chest. I don't say anything to Powder, I don't even know what to say.
Powder watches me, she is as confused and hurt as I am. After a moment, she walks over to the record player, pulling out a disc. She carefully places it on the turntable and lowers the needle, and then she comes to sit beside me.
We don't speak. we just sit there, listening to the music.
Neither of us mentions what Vi said. It’s too raw, too painful to dig into right now. But the words hang between us like a shadow.
Powder fidgets beside me, her knee bouncing nervously. I know she’s thinking about it too, but like me, she's not sure how to talk about it. Finally, she breaks the silence.
"does Vi hates us?," she asks, her voice shaky.
I don’t answer right away. Thinking about what to say, Instead, I reach for the box under the bed the one with the scraps we’ve found. I pull it out and open it, revealing wires, metal bits, broken gadgets, everything we’ve managed to collect for our next project.
“I-i don't know” I finally admit, my voice barely more than a whisper, "Maybe she does" I say as I run my fingers over the pieces, Trying to focus on something else, I grab one and start working on it, the movement familiar, almost automatic.
Powder watches me for a moment, then pulls her knees to her chest. After a beat, she leans forward, rummaging through the parts beside me. The energy between us shifts, our focus turning to the creation in front of us. It's like we’re speaking through the work, letting it fill the space between us instead of words.
After a while, of pulling wires and putting metal scraps together, we finally finish. We both smile, just a little. It's not like the pain is gone, or that Vi's word didn't hurt, but building something together just make us feel better.
Powder picks up the crayons and starts drawing on our creation, giving it a face with sharp, spiky teeth. When I reach for the a crayon to add my own touch. We hear Vi's voice coming from the top bunk.
"What are you calling this one?" she asks, looking down at us.
Our smiles fall instantly as we look up at her.
"Whisker" Powder answers.
Vi climb down from the bed and sit with us.
"You guys wanna talk about today?" Vi asks gently.
"What's the point?" Powder mumbles "we've ruined everything. we always do"
"Nobody said that" Vi replies.
"No. just that you were 'twice the person' at half our age" I say, a bit of sarcasm slipping into my voice.
"You heard them" Powder adds, her voice small "we're not fighters."
"You don't have to be" Vi says, trying to reassure us. "look, I've got these" She says, holding up her fists, "and you've got those" She points to the bomb shells scattered across the bed.
"They never work" I mutter, frustration bubbling up as I pull my legs to my chest and hug them tighter.
"They will" Vi says firmly. Then she stands "Come with me."
"What?" Powder asks, glancing at Vi then back at me.
"Come on!" Vi repeats walking off.
Powder hesitates but gets up from the bed, offering me her hand. which I take, and together we follow Vi.

Left Behind
While prowling through the dark alleys of Zaun, Jinx stumbles upon an abandoned child, alone and afraid. Her initial instinct is to walk away, but the child’s desperate plea stirs memories of her own past.
Jinx x child!reader
Warning: mean jinx?, abandonment of a child, hallucinations, gun, angst with happy ending. (I think that all if I should add something else tell me pls.)
so I wrote this around 1.00am and finish it around 3.15am so it might not be perfect.
I'm taking requests.
Tumblr media
Jinx prowled through the dark alleys of Zaun, her chaotic energy simmering beneath the surface. The familiar sounds of the undercity, clanging of metal, distant shouts and the hum of factories. faded into the background as something else caugh her attention.
A faint whimper.
Her sharp eyes narrowing as she looks into the shadows where the sound was coming from. There, huddled against a wall, was a small figure. A child, no more than six or seven, clutching her knees to her chest. Her tiny form shivering to the cold and shaking with quiet sobs. Her clothes were torn and filthy, her face stained with dirt and tears, Jinx could feel the fear coming out of every pore of her little body.
For a moment,Jinx stood frozen, starring at the child as if she was looking at a ghost, memories from the past clawing their way back to the surface. Another time, another little girl left alone inthe world. Powder. Her fingers tightened around her gun, the other hand tightens into a fist, nails digging into hel palm. A familiar pang of pain twisted in her chest.
"Hey" she called out, her voice a little softer than usual, though still tinged with that playful edge. The child flinched, shrinking further into the wall, eyes wide with fear, Jinx took a step forward, releasing the grip on her gun as she crouched in front of the girl.
"What're you doing all alone, huh? Dont you know this place eats up little girls like you?"
The child didn't answer. She just stared up at Jinx with wide tear filled eyes. But Jinx recognized it. It wasn't fear of her. it was the fear of being left behind, of being abandoned. The kind of fear she knew a little too well.
Jinx tilted her head, her wild blue hair falling into her face as she grinned, though there was no real amusement behind it. "You think someone's gonna come save you?" Her voice echoed through the alley, her thoughts spiralling back to her own past. The voices in her head were quiet now, but their presence lingered, tugging at her. "Ha! They never come. trust me, I know"
The child sniffled, her voice barely a whisper "I don't have anywhere to go…"
Jinx’s grin faltered, her chaotic mind quieting for the briefest of moments. She stared at the girl, a strange mix of emotions swirling inside her anger, pity, something dangerously close to empathy.
Her wild grin snapped back into place, though the fire behind it had dimmed. "Well, kid looks like you’re stuck in a real bad spot" she said, twirling her gun with casual indifference. But her fingers were shaking just slightly. The child’s tear filled eyes stayed locked on her, trembling from both cold and fear as she pressed herself against the wall.
"I mean, I could just leave you here" she said, her tone light, as if she didn’t care. She glanced down at the girl, her playful facade wavering. "What happens to you isn’t really my problem, right?"
Without waiting for a response, Jinx turned on her heel and started to walk away. But then, a small, trembling voice cut through the night.
"Please… don’t leave me… please."
Jinx froze.
Those words hit her like a punch to the gut, sending her mind spiraling. In an instant, she wasn’t in the alley anymore. She was a child again Powder trying to reach for Vi, tears streaming down her face, her heart shattering as she begged her sister not to leave. The memories crashed down on her, suffocating, and then the voices started.
"Because you’re a Jinx!" Vi’s voice echoed in her head, sharp and cruel. Jinx’s hands trembled, her breathing ragged.
"I told you to stay away!" The voice grew louder, relentless. "Jinx!" It pulled her back to that moment, the weight of Vi’s rejection crushing her.
Jinx gritted her teeth, her mind a storm of chaos and pain. The voices were everywhere. "You ruin everything. You always do."
She clenched her fists, her breath shallow, the child’s plea echoing over and over. It was too familiar. Too painful. She could hear her younger self in those words desperate, abandoned, left behind by the person she trusted the most.
"Please…"
The child’s voice broke through the storm in her head. Jinx blinked, the memories retreating like shadows. The girl was still there, staring up at her with wide, frightened eyes, looking just as lost as she had been all those years ago.
Jinx let out a shaky breath, the anger inside her slowly fading into something else—something more vulnerable. She walked back toward the child, kneeling down in front of her, her chaotic energy momentarily subdued.
"You really don’t have anyone, do you?" she murmured, her voice softer now, almost tender. Jinx sighed, running a hand through her wild blue hair.
"Fine" she muttered, more to herself than to the girl. "Guess I can’t leave you here after all." She extended a hand, her grin softer this time, but still there. "Come on, kid."
The child’s eyes lit up with relief, and after a hesitant pause, she reached for Jinx’s hand. Jinx helped her to her feet, her touch surprisingly gentle.
"Stick close, alright?" Jinx added, pulling the girl to her feet. "I’m not babysitting, so if you can’t keep up, that’s on you."
As they began to walk through the shadowy alleys, the girl stayed close behind, almost clinging to Jinx. For a moment, Jinx glanced back at her, something stirring deep inside. She couldn’t put a name to it something too close to protectiveness but she didn’t shake it off.
Zaun’s dark streets swallowed them as they walked, but Jinx found herself glancing back once more, her chaotic thoughts swirling. Maybe, just maybe, this wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
