The first time I can truly recall hearing "Heroes", it was when I watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The song and the sequence that accompanied it made me want to go out and live life to the fullest. It's also one of the films that has inspired me most as a filmmaker. Three years earlier, I saw another film with my best friend, @wigglesworth667 , that would later inspire my second screenplay. Moon was directed by David Bowie's son, Duncan Jones. "Life On Mars?" has always been my favourite David Bowie song. Today, after hearing the news of his passing, I welled up a little as l started listening to the haunting titular melody of "Blackstar", Bowie'a last musical opus. I feel fortunate to have experienced so much wonderful art because of David Bowie. He was more than just a hero, because he taught us that we can heroes. Looking at this collage, you might not think it, but 2015 was not the year I wanted it to be. I lost parts of myself, had to rebuild as well as say a hard goodbye to someone who was a big part of my life. I won't go into details, but those who were there for me know how tough it was when I was at my worst. That's why I want to say thank you. Thank you to every single person who helped me through and also helped give me not only the best moments in my year, but also some of the best memories that I'll cherish forever. You can see a few of those here - making art I love, meeting my heroes, dreams coming true and having as much fun as I could when I was able to. Too many people and moments to list, of course. You know who you are, though. Last year I wanted the next to be "my year". Now I'll just be happy if the next one is a good one. Not just for me, though - for all of us. Happy new year, everyone. I am so thankful. Last night was one of the best nights of my entire life. It started at dinner with Joss Whedon and just two other guys. In addition to our mutual dislike of Interstellar, Joss let us pick his brain and told me the best advice he's ever received. It was incredible. The tasty dinner was followed by drinks, an impromptu Q&A with some more fellow fans, Joss signing some of my stuff and taking photos with all of us. Very cool. Then it was the main event, a packed out Q&A where the interviewer asked Joss a couple of my questions and one of them prompted Joss to get a big laugh from the audience. Charismatic, down to earth, hilarious and informative - Joss proved why he always kills it at cons. Afterwards, Joss

Over the past week, I've felt super for the first time in long while. Finding this painting while I explored at work confirmed that things are looking up. Yesterday I filmed a new episode of Face In The Crowd which I'm going to start work on as soon as possible. It'll be a good one.
