so yeah, an update on the fics

ughhhh... not much? Like 2k words on chapter 7. I'm really busy these days, so much so that I barely have time for anything during work days. Last night I came home at like 10pm and immediatelly passed out on the couch. Did manage put turn the washing machine on and accidentally washed my trasnport card along with my clothes lol. thank god that things is just plastic

anyway, probably will try to update the Umbrella with the last peaceful chapter... ehehe. The one that I am currently writing is gonna be agony, which is why I didn't want to write it while I am half-asleep and forgetting the basic verbs in English. All the following chapters are gonna be from China, so that'll be fun. Pretty sure Google Docs are blocked there too, but I'll figure something out.

dunno what I'm gonna do on the 10 hour flight there yet. I still have to finish reading the second half of A Dance with Dragons (and then finally join the "waiting for the Winds of Winter" club), but I'll also go ahead and save all of the fics in BSSM Au (cuz I still hadn't gotten around to rereading and making notes on them yet... hehe). Maybe I'll lock the fuck in and write 73828389283 words for the Umbrella lol. But it's a night flight, so I'll probably be asleep most of it. back to the topic of Deidara's (magnificent) hairstyle

so from what we had seen in canon Deidara's just kind of always had long hair. but Deidara we know is always post Iwagakure defection - so this is him and only him choosing not to cut his hair. there is not higher authority over him on the matter: before he is forced to join Akatsuki, he only did his explosive gigs to keep himself alive while living on his own and on the run, he was a contractor providing bombing services, his employers couldn't exactly demand a certain appearance of him (and let's be honest that would probably be questioning more the fact that their local terrorist for hire is like 11 years old and has been doing this solo for a while); and after joining Pain's and friends' militarised agents of enforced global delusions peace he was straight up told that we dgaf as long as you keep completing your missions.

there's also the matter that Deidara pretty much could not have been a ranged fighter before his grand Iwa leave: his ranged capabilities come pretty much only from kinjutsu - which he did not have before running away from the village, remember, the handmouths were stolen by him - and off what we could see of Bakuton in its more natural state (which is pretty much only Gari), this kekkei genkai has like zero stability outside of the user's immediatte range. If this shit wants to blow up, it will blow up. Bakuton users no-forbidden-bullshit-added edition are likely forced to be close quarter fighters due to this limitation.

what I am trying to say is, Deidara was likely not a ranged fighter in his childhood, and long hair would have been obviously seen as a liability by Iwagakure, whichs allows you to a concept I wished to introduce you to...
