very discombobulated thoughts on materialists:
KNEW it was going to be chris. (poor) love wins????
celine song has such a distinct cinematography (for ppl that watched past lives) it was almost weird seeing a romance movie through her signature style.
i like how the movie posited that there was no CLEAR answer (not between the two guys) but on the question of what makes a relationship worth it. lucy's desire for a man to have money is not only validated it's a worthwhile line of questioning that contextualizes modern day dating. yes she gets with the poor guy, and he promises he'll try to earn more money. but who knows? the movie ends on an open note. they can try again, but will it work? is love just love really enough? the narrative wants to say yes; audiences will have their own opinions. i think yes while cliche and predictable, song very smartly points out what modern day dating has become: a numbers game. i enjoyed it! it was smart!
an interesting romance film despite not really liking the romance. i wasn't invested in the romance at all. but also i don't think i'd call this film a romance film...i did like what the film was trying to say more than anything else.
i thought the unseriousness was a bit out of place. it felt kinda jarring. it would've been nice to have a serious romance movie without the comedic relief. i don't think it needed it.

I was supposed to work on other stuff but @honeyplus forced my hand >:(((
Jkjk, I did this absolutely of my own free will but it is also definitely Honey's fault. I needed to know what Damian with a tooth gap would actually look like after they mentioned it and now I can't get over how good he looks.

See the thing with explaining destiel to people is that it can’t be done properly if they haven’t seen it you cannot comprehend the intricacies of Dean and Cas’ relationship unless you have the context of 12 years and 11 seasons and deleted scenes and a multitude of script edits and corporate gaslighting and whatever the fuck Jensen and Misha were doing with their eyes and that’s why we look insane to most of this website

This is such a beautiful take on the parallel origins of Batman and Superman in the 1990 World’s Finest series.
