This comic book panel recreates one of my all-time favorite unhinged Egwene/Elayne moments from The Shadow Rising, Chapter 35—where Elayne decides to “try on” the Sea Folk’s ocean-top-optional fashion… because apparently, Tel’aran’rhiod is the fantasy version of your bedroom mirror. 🪞🤷🏻‍♂️

-Egwene’s shock? 100% justified. 😱

-Elayne’s curiosity? Iconic. 😏

-This whole chapter? Somehow both plot-critical and a sitcom episode. 📺👯‍♀️

Violence

I kept seeing people reading this book on the subway, as well as seeing it on the bestsellers list….so I finally caved. There are definitely some over the top elements (( perhaps too much love and sex for a dude reader 🤣🫣 )) + some other completely unfathomable “rules of the world” that are sort of cheesy—but otherwise it has really fun aesthetic and worldbuilding—and a few very compelling characters that are impossible to dislike. Can’t help but fall slightly in love with VIOLET SORRENGAIL 💜💃🏻🐉.

My 8 year old daughter was recently watching this updated version of #carmensandiego 💃🏻🕵️‍♀️and I love the new aesthetic. Such great art direction! Did a little #drawthisinyourstyle (yes, I made this with my hands, not with AI 😉😆) for fun! Combined ink and colored pencil line art versions and Black paper BG in photoshop, but each version is hand drawn on actual paper with pencil and ink.
