Clicked on the video for Troye Sivan, left with a stronger admiration for John Cena

It’s never too late to start over. If you weren’t happy with yesterday, try something different today. Don’t stay stuck. Do better.

21ST
So, I’ve just turned 21 in Australia...
And I thought I’d document how I’m feeling right now.
I’m actually not in the happiest place i.e. I’ve had happier days. Main reason being, I really miss home. I really miss my family, my friends, my Sydney... And I know when I get back to Sydney, and back to my room, I’ll just be like... “oh... -insert the South Western Sydney suburb where I live-” but... right at this moment, right now, I am in Vancouver Canada, and I wish I could just be in Sydney for one day; to just see my family and friends in the flesh for only one day, would be more than enough. But, this is what I chose. I chose to go on exchange, and for all of the amazing experiences I’ve had, this is what I have to forego.
I was looking through my diary, and also looking at my post-travel itinerary, and calculated that it will be another three months until I’m back in Sydney. Three months doesn’t sound like a lot. I’ve been gone for essentially four months now. Sigh. I did not realize how much I’d miss everyone when I set out on this adventure, which is a pretty naive ignorance.
But other than that, life is pretty good here in Vancouver. It’s starting to get colder now; they actually have four distinct seasons, which is such a new concept to an Australian like me.
I’m also planning to go on another hike this Saturday, before Vancouver completely freezes over. And then next week is Halloween! I’ve already started to put together my costume. Kim and I are planning to go to haunted houses at a theme park. There’s also a frat haunted house party, and the entrance fee goes towards a charity so... that sweetens the deal for me. Plus, I’ll be going to UBC’s Student Union Halloween party, which is already sold out because it looks like a very promising event, with good music and vibes :-D And then the weekend after that I’m planning to finally visit Victoria. It’s kind of weird because everyone says that it’s a must visit, but then at the same time, everyone says that there’s nothing to really do there... So... I don’t know. And then the week after that, I specifically wrote in my diary “NO GOING OUT ALLOWED”, because I need to write a thesis and do an assignment due the week after. And then in the last two weeks of the semester I’ll be going to see Cirque Du Soleil’s KOOZA show, and also checking out ODESZA ^_^ And then there will be two and a half weeks of final exams. And then my stay at UBC will be over...
Caroline will be coming over. We might go to the Rockies again. We’re definitely going to Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, Churchill and Winnipeg. Hoping to have lots of fun exploring the beauties of the first three cities, and hoping to be on the way to seeing the Northern Lights with the last two cities.
And then... finally... on January 20th I’ll be flying home, and hopefully, I’ll be arriving in Sydney on the 22nd safe and sound. And I’ll get to go home to my room (which I’m planning to renovate). I’ll get to see my mum and dad again (and little brother). I’ll hopefully catch up with a few really close friends within the first few days. And... I’ll start another year in Sydney.
I already have a lot of things planned to do in February, before uni starts in March, such as:
- Renovate room (I hope my mum lets me. I may be 21, but I’m still afraid of my mum)
- Planning for improving VGen UNSW in 2016
- Catching up with a whole lot of people (from high school, from Austern, my close friends etc.)
- Edit my USA and Canada videos (Lol. I will die once for every video I have to create. Video editing will be the death of me)
- Attend the entirety of UNSW O-Week 2016 because VGen UNSW represent yo’
- Get back to work and save up for my next adventure!
- This is kind of random, but I need to buy more books, subscribe to the Economist and buy a bike (maybe if I has monies)
- And anything else life brings me
So yeah... right now I’m going to continue writing notes for subjects.
Turning 21 at this moment in time isn’t special. However, I’m looking forward to seeing how the upcoming year turns out, and how I’ll be feeling by the time I’ve reached the double 2s.
Really not wanting to study, but instead just watch YouTube DIY room decor videos,
Julie

Very recently got into contact again with an old and dear friend. She recommended that I check out this song. I love it - it’s so sweet and happy and :-DDD
Thanks Amina!
