Be prepared for 90 -100 + Tempatures with High humidity !
Regardless of your age or physical condition, going to Disney World can be a big task that should not be underestimated. A person may walk as many as 20,000 steps in a day (or more!) while on property.
You don’t have to be an Olympic athlete, but if you are not accustomed to this type of activity, preparing in advance can make your vacation more comfortable… and help prevent injury.
Here are a few tips if you’d like to consider doing this:
1. Start a walking routine a month or two out. Build up gradually to getting used to it.
2. Walk in all weather. Disney doesn’t stop for rain!
3. Wear supportive, well-fitting athletic shoes.
4. Try to walk in the shoes you plan to wear at home.
5. Break shoes in well before your trip - never wear anything brand new at Disney!
6. Hydrate Drink bottle 16 - 20 ounce every 1 hour and 1/2 and eat water-rich foods. You will need to drink more water during your trip than you do at home. Hydration is most important part of surviving Florida heat !
7. Dress for the hot & humid weather Light in color & Light in weight & loosen fitting clothes. Donot wear jeans or jean shorts & hoodies.Donot wear tight fitting work out clothes.Because your body will not have ability to cool down.
8. Test your backpack with weight during your walks to make sure it’s comfortable.
9. If you smoke, consider quitting or cutting back. It’ll save you both time and money.
10. Schedule rest time dueing your park days. Your body will thank you!

Dear everyone who doesn't live in Florida but loves someone who does, here are some things you need to know about hurricanes:
🌀They don't come until they come, so if you ask us how we are 72 hours before we expect the winds to start, don't be surprised if we tell you we're fine. Please believe us. We're actively preparing, and we're watching the forecast more closely than you are, but we're truly fine at the moment.
🌀Hurricanes are unpredictable. No matter how good the models are, hurricanes often demonstrate a mind of their own. We're always hoping and praying for a turn or "wobble" that sends the monster further from civilization. But if you ask us what's going to happen three or four days from now, we honestly don't know for sure (and neither do the meteorologists).
🌀An entire state can't evacuate. Everyone packing up, jumping into their cars and heading north may seem like a great idea. However, the truth is that those of us in "safer" inland regions generally need to stay put to reserve the roads, gas, hotel rooms, shelters, plane tickets, etc. for the most vulnerable folks who live on the coast in the storm's path (where evacuation orders exist). Some inland folks may choose to leave, but most of us stay put and follow the instructions of our local governments.
🌀We truly appreciate your love and concern, the offers to stay in your homes, etc. Know that the national media is doing a pretty good job of stirring up your anxiety. Our local weather teams are much calmer and more knowledgeable about how the hurricanes affect our area. They are working nonstop to give us updates and telling us to prepare. We trust them. When the tie comes off, the sleeves are rolled up, and we're told to hunker down, we're ready.
🌀Of course we're worried, but we're trying to do all the right things to prepare and not freak out. Thanks for offering words of love and encouragement (and not jumping on the freak-out wagon - it just makes it harder on us).
🌀 PS - Ask how we are after it passes!
🌀🌀 PPS- I’m in the yellow circle 🟡

Ensure your safety. District Fire engine 20 was struck while defending two lanes for a MVC on I4 at 3 a.m. engine 20 was hit twice within 20 minutes. Initially, a car collided with the front bumper, causing damage to the Federal equipment. Twenty minutes later, a vehicle sideswiped the entire engine 20, despite the presence of cones and lights. The truck performed its function, protecting against further impact. Fortunately, no one was inside the truck and sustained injuries.

Bearfootin' Bear Reveal
Get ready to unleash your wild side and join us for the biggest tradition of the season! Mark your calendars for Wednesday May 8th, when the excitement hits its peak at the Visitor Center Stage on South Main Street with the grand unveiling of the Bearfootin' Bears! Before these magnificent bears take their place on Main Street, you'll have the exclusive opportunity to get up close and personal with them at the reveal event. Prepare for an unforgettable spectacle as we reveal this majestic masterpiece to the world in all its glory.
About Bearfootin' Art Walk
Since 2003, the Bearfootin’ Art Walk has helped raise funding for Downtown Hendersonville and a variety of local non-profits. In addition to raising funds, the bears offer a window into good work being done by community organizations in Henderson County.
The Bearfootin’ Bears arrive as blank slates before local artists transform each in a spectacular fashion, with creative themes ranging from Mona Lisa to Blue Ridge Mountain scenery. After the “Reveal” event in early May, the bears then take up residence in downtown Hendersonville for the duration of the summer and fall, up until auction. Participants bid during the auction to raise funds for local non-profits and Downtown Hendersonville. Winning bids up to $3,000 are split evenly between the downtown program and the nonprofit chosen by the sponsor, while bid amounts exceeding $3,000 are directed entirely to the non-profit.
Bearfootin' Auction Information
Since 2003, the Bearfootin' Art Walk has helped raise funds for Friends of Downtown Hendersonville and a variety of local nonprofits. The bears showcase the community's talented artists, as well as provide a window into the good work being done by nonprofits and community organizations in Henderson County.
The Bearfootin’ Bears search for a permanent home each fall as winter nears. In 2020, Friends of Downtown Hendersonville pivoted to a virtual format for the auction, allowing people to bid over the course of a month until a scheduled bidding cutoff. This turned out to be a big success. The same bidding format was continued for the 2021 auction, which raised $102,000 and then $140,000 in 2022!
