He ordered the arrest of Chief Justice Roger Taney after he ruled that Lincoln had violated the Constitution after he had illegally suspended the Writ of Habeus Corpus. Hundreds of individuals were arrested on unclear charges and tried in a military court, while civilian courts were still operating. The Supreme Court later ruled that was unconstitutional. It was a kangaroo court system set up to indefinitely jail those that spoke against him.

This is ignoring the whole invasion of states that had the right to secede, leading to the death of well over 600k people, and initially refusing to free northern slaves and slaves owned in union-occupied territory

This. I expected more from AHS. They also didn't miss the chance to use the "satanists" to push super-leftist ideas. 😔 I definitely have some gripes with this season, but I was extremely happy to see the coven again.
