Sorry if the pictures are blurry!
Hey if u wanna see them in better quality check out my studygram https://www.instagram.com/chocolate0reo/
The sheet on the left is a “review sheet”. Pretty much the important stuff, or most said things. If you want a post on how I do it, please let me know. My notes aren’t very neat, but I try to make them neat.

Lucy again!
I have two tests (Geometry and Biology) on monday, but I’ve been studying a lot. However, I was studying as I was learning? Like I would take notes, then make a quizlet on what I needed to know, then before the quiz add to the quizlet, and then after the quiz adding to the quizlet and adding my notes to the quizlet. Ya so I made a big (not rlly compared to my others) quizlet. I’ve been making a review page in my notebook and it’s been going really well. I’m ready to ace my biology test!
I’ve done the same with Geometry, but I’m gonna go even farther. Since it’s the beginning of the school year I’m gonna take advantage of my school year motivation. At my school we have “daily checks”, pretty much homework. When we finish the unit she gives us the answers to the daily checks so I’ve corrected mine. When I have time either today or tomorrow I’m gonna redo the problems I missed then do some khan academy examples.
Expect some note pictures tomorrow, I’m gonna try and take some :D

Productivity? I think not. Update post? idk what to call this.
Let’s call it a little talk for the peeps interested.
I haven’t been on this account in... 4 months? 3 months? I don’t know. I kinda stopped doing the productivity challenge because near the end of the school year I didn’t know what to do anymore. Finding something productive to do became daunting instead of... productive.
Since I don’t feel like talking to people about my summer (feels weird to just talk about your summer if people didn’t ask).
Summer this year was great and meh. My brother got married, I started earning moolah, I went on a cruise and met some interesting people. I met my old school peeps and hung out with them a bit. But when that wasn’t happening, I was bored out of my mind. I wanted to get a job, which I’m too young for apparently.
So out of that, school started for me on August 12th. I don’t know if I’m gonna be on here very much because of things happening in my life, but I’ll try to be kinda active. I’m more active on my studying amino (Oreo). I post stuff on there. (hehe self promo).
I started online school. It’s been good so far, but PE is confusing to me. Whenever I think about PE I get worried.
Also, college makes me stressed to think about now. I’m 4 years away yet I’m already doing practice SAT questions, hoping to get a scholarship. Last year if I got a B on an assignment I was fine, but now I get so worked up about a B. I want all As this year to start off with a good GPA, but I don’t know if I can do it. At least I could say I tried and hopefully got close.
I’m also worried about what to put on my college application. My school doesn’t offer a lot except student leadership (im interested in but idk), a video announcement program (I signed up for it), and odyssey of the mind. idk what that is. Sounds like quizbowl.
Hopefully I’ll figure something out. This year I aim to get a piano award to put on it.
BUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTT, RED VELVET HAD A COMEBACK TODAY SO PLS STREAM UMPAH UMPAH. They also had ZIMZALABIM during June :D Please support them they deserve it-
That’s pretty much it.
Thanks for reading this lowkey depressing post.
-Lucy :)

Currently: listening to music and doing homework.
Our debate coach last year quit, and didn’t tell us who the replacement would be. After the first practice of the year, we found out our coach would be 2 seniors who also have to practice. They have a lot on their shoulders, teaching us and preparing for their own tournaments.
I have art tomorrow, and I’m really looking forward to it!

Hello Friday! I think today’s schedule for classes is my favorite. Our History teacher is THE nicest.
I was in a good mood when I got home and thought I’d watercolor a bit. I know I’m not that good, but I really don’t care, I had fun. :)

First day of school! I was actually pretty excited for it after a pretty un-eventful summer. It went great, I got to see my friends again! That was my favorite part.
This year we have a block schedule, which means we have 3 longer classes a day instead of 7 shorter ones.
To Do:
Create Quizlet Group for class (and invite everyone)
Vocabulary Quizlet
Postulates & Theorems Quizlet
Geometry Terms Quizlet
Clean out Computer
Organize & Prepare Binders

I’m returning
Ok yeah, I know, I haven’t been posting at all regularly. I thought about it a lot over the summer but I became very unproductive and failed. I also didn’t finish the first 100 Days of Productivity Challenge, mostly because I started towards the end of the school year, and, well, summer. I did end up trying to make goals but I spent a lot of time (a LOT) with family and such so... it didn’t happen. I’m gonna be re-trying the challenge, and this time be more committed. I’m gonna try to utilize this Tumblr to make sure I am being held accountable.
sorry and thanks for staying
- iniya
also, I don’t think luci will be posting much. It’s up to her, but I think it’ll be mainly me.

Do yourself a favor. Learn to code. Here's how.
I’ve said this to my non-techie friends countless times. It’s no secret that being able to code makes you a better job applicant, and a better entrepreneur. Hell, one techie taught a homeless man to code and now that man is making his first mobile application.
Learning to code elevates your professional life, and makes you more knowledgeable about the massive changes taking place in the technology sector that are poised to have an immense influence on human life.
(note: yes I realize that 3/5 of those links were Google projects)
But most folks are intimidated by coding. And it does seem intimidating at first. But peel away the obscurity and the difficulty, and you start to learn that coding, at least at its basic level, is a very manageable, learnable skill.
There are a lot of resources out there to teach you. I’ve found a couple to be particularly successful. Here’s my list of resources for learning to code, sorted by difficulty:
Novice
Never written a line of code before? No worries. Just visit one of these fine resources and follow their high-level tutorials. You won’t get into the nitty-gritty, but don’t worry about it for now:
Dash - by General Assembly
CodeAcademy
w3 Tutorials (start at HTML on the left sidebar and work your way down)
Intermediate
Now that you’ve gone through a handful of basic tutorials, it’s time to learn the fundamentals of actual, real-life coding problems. I’ve found these resources to be solid:
Khan Academy
CodeAcademy - Ruby, Python, PHP
Difficult
If you’re here, you’re capable of building things. You know the primitives. You know the logic control statements. You’re ready to start making real stuff take shape. Here are some different types of resources to turn you from someone who knows how to code, into a full-fledged programmer.
Programming problems
Sometimes, the challenges in programming aren’t how to make a language do a task, but just how to do the task in general. Like how to find an item in a very large, sorted list, without checking each element. Here are some resources for those types of problems
Talentbuddy
TopCoder
Web Applications
If you learned Python, Django is an amazing platform for creating quick-and-easy web applications. I’d highly suggest the tutorial - it’s one of the best I’ve ever used, and you have a web app up and running in less than an hour.
Django Tutorial
I’ve never used Rails, but it’s a very popular and powerful framework for creating web applications using Ruby. I’d suggest going through their guide to start getting down-and-dirty with Rails development.
Rails Guide
If you know PHP, there’s an ocean of good stuff out there for you to learn how to make a full-fledged web application. Frameworks do a lot of work for you, and provide quick and easy guides to get up and running. I’d suggest the following:
Cake PHP Book
Symfony 2 - Get Started
Yii PHP - The Comprehensive Guide
Conclusion
If there’s one point I wanted to get across, it’s that it is easier than ever to learn to code. There are resources on every corner of the internet for potential programmers, and the benefits of learning even just the basics are monumental.
If you know of any additional, great resources that aren’t listed here, please feel free to tweet them to me @boomeyer.
Best of luck!

college application tips and tricks
as a recently graduated senior i feel like i have quite a bit of helpful tips for people who are starting to apply for college.
- your essay matters much more than your stats through your essay the admissions officers are able to see if you are a good fit for the school and vice versa, i realized that the schools i got rejected from i would not have thrived in and that i could have had lower stats and ended up in the same place
- show character development and how you think in your essays. the more the essay is about you and shows what you value and who you are the better
- i really reccomend investing in a college essay tutor or to take advantage of free college essay help programs you may have avaliable to you
- you will be happy where you will end up in!!
- dont turn away from schools because they may not have a prestigious reputation or they arent well known, what matters is that you like the program and the school. my school had a lot of pressure for people to go to prestegious schools and many applied to all of the iveys and didn’t get in but they are extemely happy where they are now. look for presteige in grad school, but look for a solid base of an education for undergrad. prestegious schools tend to be more known for research and grad programs, so they may focus on you less.
- take money into consideration!! its terrible to pay off student loans for the rest of your life! be sure to talk to your parents about how much they can pay for your education. one of my friends didnt, and got into her dream school and wasnt able to go because her parents couldnt afford to pay for her and it was a tragedy. please please please talk to your parents about money. also take your major into consideration, grads of some majors are able to pay back studend loans in 2 years while others take decades, it all depends on the salaries of job opportunities. be sure to think about that.
- dont apply to like 17 colleges, only apply to where you can see yourseld going if youre rejected from all others
- in the end its really helpful to realize that most of the time college admissions dont make sense. people are rejected from programs they thought they were perfect for and people are accepted for programs no one expected. admissions are less based in merit than they are based in how admission officers feel that day and chance.

Your Life is Happening Now
So about a year ago my philosophy teacher said something that has really stuck with me.
“When I was your age I couldn’t wait to grow up,” he said. “All throughout high school I was waiting for my life to start. I used to tell myself once I got a car then my life would begin. And then I did, and it didn’t. ‘Okay,’ I thought, ‘When I get to university then my life will really start.’ But then I got there and it wasn’t much different, until a few years later it hit me: oh shit, my life is happening now.”’
That’s something I’ve tried to keep with me, because it’s so easy to forget. I’m sure many of us do. I am guilty of thinking in a few years, once I’m settled down and can afford things, my life will begin. Or when I get my license, or a move out. I’m guilty of cancelling time with the people that matter to me because I’m planning for that day in the future when ‘I can do stuff’. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with working towards a goal and being disciplined but it’s so important to remember that you shouldn’t fantasize about the ideal you and a time when your life can finally begin without working towards it. Your life is happening now.

A lot of time has passed since I last posted... and I’m sorry. It seems like I’m apologizing for this every time I post. I’ll do better. I have a plan ;)
It’s now Sunday, and I’m preparing for what is the last full week of school. Teachers are jamming in tests and new chapters and all that stuff. So I’m preparing.
Take notes on all of Ch. 21 for Science
Test on Wednesday
Religious Studies Test Monday
Memory Test Wednesday
Lit Test
Memorize Poem
Math Quest (Quiz/Test Hybrid)
Digital Tech: Finish Code for Game
APS Homework
I’ll have a pretty packed week this week. But that means I’ll be posting a lot so... (☞゚ヮ゚)☞
I’ll make a separate post about what my goals are for the summer and how I’ll stay productive. I don’t know when I’ll do it, but I will. Thanks to whoever reads this! ~(*´∀`*)~

Productivity means more than studying
Please don’t get me wrong, 100 days or more of continuing studying means that you are incredibly motivated and disciplined. And this is fantastic. You should be proud of yourself.
However, I’ve noticed that most of the time the challenge is associated only with studying for uni, college or school, but there is so much more.
Productivity means to clean your room, flat, house regularly and efficiently. We all have this one little corner in our bookshelves which is always dusty. To change that is productive.
Productivity means to be creative. To draw, sketch, do music, tinker, to sculpture, build something out of clay or wood or whatever helps you to relax.
Productivity means to do sport and eat healthily. Preparing food, that is good to you and your body and tastes amazing, go to the gym, or going for a run, hit the mat on your own floor and do some yoga, pilates or to meditate takes time, and it is a productive time.
Productivity also means taking care of yourself. Not only to eat healthy and do workouts regularly is essential, but listening to your favorite song in the shower and convulse your neighbors because of your singing voice; doing some skin care, drinking enough water/tea, feeling the sun on your cheeks, going out with your friends, laughing with your family.
This is productive and super important. Don’t neglect yourself and be kind to yourself.
Because all in all productivity means to DO things and to get the most out of the day.
So, be happy, smile and be productive in a positive way…🌻
