Sitting on the couch
You heart the door being unlocked
Daddy is home!
You get up, you run to the entryway
"Hi daddy!" You say, a big smile on your face "Welcome home"
Daddy closes his eyes for a second
Like your voice is an annoying chirping
He takes a deep breath
And sighs tiredly
"Hi" That's all he says
Daddy passes by, going back to ignoring you
You stand there
Eyes full of tears
Your throat closing up
You wonder
What did you ever do so daddy doesn't love you?

I kept him inside of me, like an oyster keeps a pearl. That's what he was, a beautiful shiny pearl that mesmerized the world but only came to be through my wounds. At some point, someone killed me and pried me open so they could take him and put him with all the other pearls, where he belonged. While I was eaten and spit out, never to be talked about again.

I grew up in a loud house
It would get filled
With screams, fights and slaps
But then, it would go silent
Not a single sound
I grew up in a loud house
There would be beatings
Tears falling down
But then, it would go silent
Not a single sound
I grew up in a loud house
Screams until it hurt
Hiding in my room
But then, it would go silent
But then, I should act normal
But then, I should pretend I didn't cry
But then, I should smile
I grew up in a loud house
But there wasn't a single sound.
