He’s hurt. Rough gashes dripping blood on concrete, arms flayed open and soaking through his suit. His expression is nothing more than neutral, staring blankly down at the unconscious bodies around him.

He opens his mouth to speak, but he sees you first.

You’re staring. Not at him, but at the blood pooling at his feet. Your eyes are pried open in shock, mouth slightly ajar as you watch it drip.

“Jason, your blood.” You stumble over your words, stepping forward to get a closer look. “You didn’t tell me that you’re…”

It clicks. He attempts to hide himself, but your hand is already on his shoulder, and he can feel your eyes studying, watching the gore that escapes him.

“It’s not important—“

“No, it’s very important.” You interrupt, subconsciously squeezing down on the shoulder that holds him. “Why didn’t you tell me that you had Lazarus in your blood?”

He snaps away from you, eyes sharp, squinting defensively.

“It’s not important.” He repeats, fully turning away from you. “Grab the burner so we can track it.”

You stand your ground. Jason should’ve expected that much of you. He turns around, looking down at you with a frustrated curve of his lips.

“What?”

“Jason.” You start, hands slowly leaving your sides. “I’ve dealt with your kind of blood before. It’s Lazarus tainted; I can fix it.”

Your attempt to reach out to him was immediately shunned, almost as if it was reflexive to him. He stands poised as if he’s facing a threat, yet his eyes reflect wide with fear, hands gently trembling.

“No… I dont— I don’t want,” His words jittered, traveling in a horrid vibrato. “I don’t want it inside of me.”

It’s instinct. The familiarity of you has nearly disappeared. Fear radiates from the core of his being; the smell clings to your senses. He must have contracted the Lazarus in a traumatic way. The thought makes your heart sink.

“You’re bleeding out.”

His hands race to cover the wounds grafting his skin. Another bad response.

“You know me, Jason. Only supernatural affairs.” You smile, lightly shaking your wrists. “It’ll heal your wounds, nothing else. I promise.”

You wait. Agonizing seconds of watching more and more blood spill from his body. When his breathing begins to shallow, you step forward, running a hand down the arm covering his stomach.

“Trust me, okay?”

A few moments pass before he blinks, teeth gritting in the slightest. All resistance from his arm falls, and you gently guide it to rest at his side.

“Okay.”

The process is fast. A few flashes of light and open wounds thread together, leaving only the remaining streaks of spilled blood to coat his skin. You watch as the strain slowly leaves Jason’s face, and his grip tightens on you, stabilizing with the familiarity of your touch.

As you finish, his mouth opens, closing and reopening as he searches for something to say. You stop him by planting your lips against his, running a hand along his arm to pat his hand comfortingly. When you pull away, he’s silent, and you smile.

“I’ve got you, always.”

I know your event is open for drabble requests but I wanted to say I really liked the way you wrote and set up your series, even though they never ended up being finished. Something I think you’d do a really good job at writing is a high school au with Jason because you’re good at mixing angst with plot/character development and make your stories very enticing. I don’t know, just some thoughts for you to consider if you’re trying to get back into writing.

⤫ in all honesty, simon doesn’t sleep much, especially after or during deployments. he has a particular habit of pacing around during the night, and will often sit by you on his side, but he won’t sleep. part of this stems from deep rooted anxieties concerning war; he’s seen what happens to people who let their guard down, and he’s not willing to even think about taking such a risk.

⤫ if you’re also the type of insomniac he finds himself to be, your nights will often be spent staring out of your nearest window or balcony, indulging in mindless chatter until it’s time to hit the road again. in these moments, you’ll find simon more vulnerable than usual, and he’ll take it upon himself to talk about things he wouldn’t dare speak of other times. there’s always an underlying look of distance in his eyes when he speaks of his past, and you know as much as him that he wishes it was different.

⤫ when he does sleep, it starts off distant. he’ll quietly shuffle himself onto his side of the bed, give you more than enough room, and bid a whisper of a good night call before he’s silent. if you choose to face him, you’ll see that he often sleeps straight on his back, half-lidded gaze dragging shapes into the ceiling, and, when he does finally succumb, that’s when he tends to get handsy. part of you assumes it’s because of his dreams, and he’s subconsciously latching out, but you don’t stop him.

⤫ you tend to find yourself being greeted by an ever so slightly contorted face of shock and rapid shuffles every morning. simon knows his sleeping habits, he ends up clinging to you every time he falls asleep, yet he can’t help but utter an apology every morning and scramble to get off you. it takes time to get him to let go of this habit, and eventually he does, waking up only a little less shocked and reluctant to pull away.

⤫ is amazing at making tea for any occasion. if you’re restless, don’t fret, simon has something that’ll put you to sleep halfway through the mug.

⤫ following that, if you don’t like tea, simon is always willing to talk you to sleep. he’s nothing if not a great listener, so he’ll have you ramble until your words are drifting off to meaningless drawls.

⤫ contrary to what others may believe, i don’t think simon would sleep with the mask on. he would only be open to sleeping in the first place if he knew he it was impossible to be compromised, and he knows you, so he’s okay with it. however, when he first started sleeping with you, he did wear it, and it took nearly a year for him to take it off.

⤫ simon doesn’t see sleeping sleeping as a terribly different thing than the regular, but the question of whether he’d succumb to such a thing depends on his mood.

⤫ on deployments, chances of sleeping with simon are slim, as the threat of being somewhere he doesn’t know makes him cautious. adding onto that, if you did end up sleeping together, you wouldn’t hear much, as his mind is typically elsewhere.

⤫ cautiousness is a major turn off for him. the chance of you being compromised in such a vulnerable act is something he just won’t risk, so you’d only get to be with him in secure areas.

⤫ his energy fluctuates depending on the type of missions you’d led that day. if something went wrong, (especially concerning you) except simon to be on the more brash side. scolding flows in and out of as many rounds as you can manage, and when you tap out, he’ll be soon to follow.

⤫ the softer side of simon only really comes out in the safety of your home. not having one himself, being welcomed in the comfort of your place is akin to a haven for him. he’ll treat you as if you were the finest piece of glass he’d ever seen, and would stay in bed with you no matter how restless he feels.

⤫ i’m just gonna say, either a totally chaotic sleeper, or so quiet you can’t even tell there’s someone next to you.

⤫ gaz usually tends to lean on the more hectic type of sleeping on deployments, as the adrenaline doesn’t quite leave until he’s completely knocked out. this could be really bad, or really good, depending on if you like to be smothered when you sleep.

⤫ no matter what position you’re in, your limbs are bound to get tangled with gaz’s. on particularly “bad” mornings, you’ll have to wait until he wakes up to escape.

⤫ however, gaz does have a calm side when it comes to sleeping. he’ll knock out with a hand wrapped around your waist, subconsciously pulling you up against his side.

⤫ gaz is a snorer. a quiet one at that, but if you lean in close enough, you can hear it. if you tell him, he’ll insist that he doesn’t and you’re just teasing him.

⤫ i cant stress this enough, but night chats with gaz are a regular. he could talk for hours on end, and it only gets worse when he’s tired. if you’re chatty as well, expect a multi topic conversation with your lover before bed.

⤫ accidentally (?) loud. every place you touch seems to be a sensitive spot for gaz, and knowing that, it’s rather simple to get him going. keeping him quiet is always fun, especially when you’re in close proximity to others.

⤫ aftercare is a little tough with gaz, as once he’s tapped out, he’s nearly spent. despite this, he has an iron grip and will refuse to let go despite how sweaty you both are.

⤫ doesn’t sleep until the later hours of the night due to his duties as the task force’s captain. however, when he can, price will sit beside you in bed while you drift off, and humor any of your requests until you’re asleep.

⤫ despite the pent up stress that follows him through the day, price isn’t a big fan of drawn out sex at night. adrenaline will only allow him to manage a quickie before he’s knocked out.

i haven’t been as inactive as it seems (shocker), but i just wanted to let you all know i’ve been hanging around on my other blog @arqhms a lot. i totally should’ve announced it, but my holiday event has already kinda started as well, if you wanna check that out you can here.

ironically enough, i’m ready halfway to 1k on there, but it’s been easier for me to chill on that account because i have a lot more engagement. not saying i’m moving or quitting this account, but i’m defo more active there. (you might also want to check my other blog out if you liked cod’s mw2 reboot!) been writing a decent amount about it there 🫶🫶

But imagine how skinny jason was when he managed to escape the joker. he was 200lbs when he was 17 as robin..and obviously he would’ve lost a lot of that weight. i always think of it and how beefy is is at the age of 20 or how ever old he is! he built himself back up in to a beefcake i he’s just so yum

yes!! it’s so crazy to see how well he bounced back from being so so skinny to healthy bodied. i also think he lays the armor on a little thicker to intimidate! playing the role of the militia’s commander could have also balanced perfectly with any possible eating disorders he may have developed after arkham asylum,, which could have defo kept him beefed up for gotham!!

hey!! you may not agree with me on this one, but i think tim is beefier!

i say this mainly because of what i see in arkham knight’s models. with lighter, less thick armor tim still looks bigger than jason to me (besides jason looking a lil taller).

i also theorize that jason never really recovered from the effects of being malnourished/starved of food for so long that he just kinda defaulted to being lean bodied despite putting in so much physical activity. you can observe this if you play as him and look at him from the side; there are gaps in his armor that allow you to see that he’s actually decently thin. even in the genesis comics he’s really not that large.

so, i’d never doubt that he’s just as strong/and or stronger than tim, but i do believe he is slimmer and more lean framed than him! maybe i’m just crazy and way too biased about lean jason though 😳

“And what about the synthetic processor?”

That would be the 10th question raised in a mere span of 4 minutes. Sitting on the edge of a very thin wire, the Knight sat back in his chair, running two hands up the sea of static that served as his face.

“It’s malfunctioning, sir.” The tech officer replied, scrambling for the set of notes in front of him. “Sensors are reporting abnormal deviations in chemical levels, nothing is coming out the same.”

An irritated click sounded from the Knight’s neck before he glanced to the side, daintily pointing a finger in your direction.

“Hand the notes over to Decipher. It’ll be taken care of within a week.”

You nodded, accepting the slide of papers across the desk and collecting them in a swipe. Anticipation dripped throughout the already blazing dawn atmosphere as the Knight raised a hand, signaling for any more questions. A few moments passed in silence, and it continued for the entire 20 seconds he waited, then lowering his hand with a somewhat content sigh.

“Meeting adjourned.”

A sigh accompanied your body as you stood up, stretching the stiffness of the morning off of your back. By the time you had collected your bag and the newest meeting notes, you were the only one left in the room, leaving you to venture towards the commander chamber alone.

A series of shrill beeps followed the retinal scan to your room, waving a dull flash over your features as your computer came to life. The very start of the dashboard presented 20 notifications ranging from tech notes to new messages, accompanied by a small circle fit with a 99+ on the inside.

You sighed, deciding to alleviate your stress before it rose any further by gently closing the computer. Your uniform was then swapped for a t-shirt and jeans, followed by the removal of your visor and a pair of sunglasses to replace it. A small grapnel was snatched from your bedside table before you set for your window, prying the latches open to welcome a gust of morning heat inside.

Small winds swelled into blazes as you dropped into the city of Venezuela, snapping your grapnel into the nearest roof ledge. With a soft swing you were lowering yourself into an empty alleyway, making sure to pocket your device before emerging into the bustling streets ahead. In every direction you looked, families moved in and out of stores, leaving you little room to sift through the masses until you reached your destination.

A chime rang out above your head as you pushed the store’s door open, glancing down to the small chalk board at your feet.

Your feet led you to the room just beside yours, raising a hand to gently rap the door with your knuckles. After three coordinated knocks did you step back, lightly smiling when a muffled groan rang out from the other side.

Following that, came a slightly louder “come in.”

The door flashed green in an automated unlocked sequence, allowing you to push the handle open and enter. You let out a low whistle of greeting after the door shut, earning only a shallow wave in response.

“What do you need?”

“Nothing,” you shrugged, placing the bag on the table beside him. “Just wanted to check in.”

The Knight’s head shifted to the side at the crinkle of the bag, leading him to turn in his chair, directly facing you with the glowing LEDs serving as his eyes. The real gaze seemed to bore through the layers of screen and meta all the same, holding you with a squint, and slowly traveling over to the bag once more.

You rode the silence with caution, slowly unbagging your purchases before looking back to his bed. The sheets were cleanly folded save a scarce number of crinkles, giving you the impression that it hadn’t been used in days.

“When’s that last time you slept?”

Your question roused a stifled laugh out of him, following a shrug as he took your outstretched hand containing his order.

“I could ask you the same thing.” He contested, taking a glance down to the mocha iced coffee and strawberry pastry that sat in his grasp. “How did you know my order?”

You were faced with a look of suspiciously heightened eyebrows following a hiss of his modulator, soon narrowing as you laughed at his inquiry.

“Oh, I don’t know.” You sighed, plopping down on the foot of his bed. “Maybe because this is what you order every single time we go there?”

An unimpressed huff responded to your sarcasm ridden response. A soft smile accompanied your features as you lightly patted the spot next to you, rousing a quiet grumble from the Knight before he stood to join you. Just seconds later, the space beside you dipped, trailing a faint string of mocha to your nose as you breathed in.

The Knight slowly brought the cup to his lips, taking a rather small sip before letting it sit there, guarding the tip of his nose. Almost shyly, he cleared his throat, head tilting in the slightest so you could see his other eye.

“Thank you. Dinners on me.”

You almost spit out the mass of coffee that sat in your own mouth, rubbing your temples as you ensured that you heard him right.

If there was one thing you knew for sure, it was that the Arkham Knight never says thank you. And he most certainly doesn’t offer to buy anyone dinner either.

Yet, there he was, completely unphased, languidly sipping from his coffee as he typed notes into his laptop beside you. And if you squinted hard enough, you’d see the small smile dusting his face as he looked over in your direction once more.

“What?”

“Nothing!” You yelped, frantically snapping your gaze away from him. “You’re uh.. you’re welcome.”

He only huffed at your response, seemingly back to normal. You set your drink down on the floor before opening up your own laptop, diving straight into the flagged emails in your inbox. A few minutes passed before you felt a slight nudge on your knee, encouraging you to look up from your screen.

“Takeout sound good?”

A smile crawled upon your features as your mouth parted, mentally preparing for the extra workload you were about to get.

“Only if we’re getting Batburger.”

we finally made it! a little over half a year and i’ve finally passed 1,000, and i gotta say, it’s been so much fun. i appreciate every one of you so much, and am happy to announce the start of my 1k event!

i love your arkhamverse questions and answers! you answer them so perfectly. i have one for you. say it’s Tim’s first time meeting jason..what would he feel or how would he react to jason’s scar??

I feel as though Tim would honestly figure the history behind Jason’s scar out almost instantaneously (thanks to a little background info from babs), and would feel super guilty after seeing it. Obviously it wasn’t his fault, but seeing anyone damaged by the Joker like that would make him feel sick. Tim probably wasn’t very fond of the Joker after the whole Arkham City situation, (how he almost made bruce drop his mission for talia and give up on everyone else), and seeing this would just make his resentment grow even further. (everyone still has a right to hate the Joker even though he’s dead)

Tim would most likely end up not saying anything at first due to the pure instability in Jason’s nature, but he would learn to become more sympathetic with him almost immediately. If he ended up getting closer to Jason over time, he would tell him that it’s nothing to be ashamed of, and it just shows how strong he is.

what are your opinion on arkhamverse jaybabs? i think if tim wasn’t involved and jason didn’t get kidnapped or even if he did, they would develop crushes on each other while she helps him heal because they are already close in the game

Okay, you may not like my answer for this one.

I’ve always been super weary about relationships in the batfam, and honestly, I don’t really like any ships involving them. However, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with jaybabs in arkhamverse bc babs has gordon as father, so they’re not related whatsoever. I feel like it’s also highly possible that Jason could’ve developed a crush on babs if he didn’t go through what he did, and it’s obvious that he cares deeply for her even then. I do think he acts this way because he sees her as family, but hey, it’s entirely possible he could have feelings for her as well!

I read your RE fic "ROOKIE SEASON" & absolutely loved it (Established since before canon are my favs) & and the tags "Leon is madly in love with you", "Soft Leon" & "Leon loves validation" (bby deserves ALL the praise) made me go "Oh hell yes" (complete with fist pump).
