The next day Senku brought out charcoal and a bag filled with what you recall to be potassium nitrate.
“We have the three components we need to make gunpowder.”
“For real? We got all of 'em already?” Taiju exclaimed.
“The only thing left is to mix it up. It's time for a gunpowder cooking class that'll be a total blast!” He had a devilish-looking grin on his face.
“Pun intended?” You asked
“Pun intended,” he affirmed while handing you supplies.

In an instant, you and Senku find yourselves behind a counter. You blinked in disbelief; you didn’t get any warning that this would happen. You were about to say something till something caught your eye: Senku was in a chef uniform.
You aren’t ashamed to say this; he looked fine as hell. If he removed the apron and replaced it with a blazer, it would’ve elevated the look. Or if he had his hair down…you’d actually ascend.
Back in the real world, you were dressed in a rolled-up button-up shirt and an apron of your own. Taiju held a camera while filming you two. Finally, Yuzuriha held the boom mic up to Senku’s face while giving you a thumbs up.
“Gunpowder ingredient number one is sulfur, which there's plenty of at this hot spring!” He lifted his finger in the air as you poured the hot spring water into an empty bag.
Then he brought up the charcoal and started tossing some in there while explaining where and how to get it. Finally, for the third ingredient: potassium nitrate. You made it with Senku a couple of days before this whole thing went down.

You saw Taiju try to piece together something in his head. You really wanted to help him, but Senku stopped you.
“Hold on, he almost got it.” He whispered.
“Nitric acid! Miracle fluid! Did you get that stuff out of the cave?” Taiju yelled.
“Surprisingly enough, you're right for once, simpleton. You get ten billion points for that.”
“Nice!” You exclaimed, raising both of your hands.
“Double combo!”You both shouted as Taiju clapped your hands with his usual, overzealous force, nearly knocking you off balance.
Meanwhile, Senku stirred the potassium nitrate in with the sulfur and charcoal. Then he added some glucose to the mixture. Finally he was about to pound it down using a wooden log before Taiju came in with a boulder that was almost his size. You all were taken aback.
“Are you sure that's a good idea?” Yuzuriha ran up to him.
“I'm scared that if you use all your strength, you could make it spark and go boom! Like with flint!”
You were about to explain the science behind it before Senku jumped in,“Yeah, no. Hitting stone with stone doesn't actually create any sparks.”
You were puzzled, but not with his statement. Before you could stop Taiju, he slammed the boulder down. You jumped, bracing for an explosion, but when it didn’t come, you exhaled in relief.
“Senku.” He turned to you, baffled hearing his name coming from you.
“Stone with stone won’t make sparks, but if one of them has iron pyrite—” You didn’t need to say anything more. Senku already understood what you were saying. The sulfur contained iron pyrite due to its close proximity to the volcanoes and spring water that surrounded it. But it was too late; Taiju had already smashed the boulder down again.
When he lifted it up, you guys saw that the bag was torn. Unfortunately, the worst case scenario happened: sparks appeared.
“Shit!” You cursed. “Take cover!” The resulting explosion blew everyone away.
Debris scattered around as black smoke filled your vision. Its pungent smell was something you were familiar with. It brought you back to the shooting range with your brother. Where he taught you how to steady your aim and encouraged your first shot. Those moments felt safe, unlike this chaotic scene.
You looked around for Yuzuriha, Taiju, and Senku. Thankfully no one got hurt, or worse, died. But you still deduced this to be one of the scariest experiences you’ve had, and that's saying something. Meanwhile, everyone slowly stood up, collecting themselves from their near death experience.
“No problem, you guys! This just proves our gunpowder cooking was successful!” Senku first spoke up. Ignoring how dangerous it was.
“That's scary stuff. We need to be careful!” Yuzuriha’s voice quivered, still shell-shocked from what just happened.
“Yeah… It's been involved in a lot of experiments gone wrong. It's not unheard of for some curious kid or even an adult to lose a limb.” Senku brushed the dirt off his face.
“Huh?” she questioned, clearly shocked by the information.
“Don't forget, this is a lethal substance we're dealing with.” Senku reminded
“Yet we're planning to use it against Tsukasa.” Your voice was firm, but your eyes wandered off. You were having trouble imagining using it against him. Yuzuriha and Taiju looked at you with eyes filled with concern.
“No. We'll make a deal.” The three of you looked at Senku in bewilderment. You wondered why you would make a deal with Tsukasa with the gunpowder if he could use it against you guys afterward.
“Tsukasa isn't some sort of random, mindless murderer. Think back. When Taiju and Tsukasa had their scuffle, you remember what he said?”
You thought back to that moment. The heightened tensions of that scene suffocated you as you tried to come around to the idea of Tsukasa betraying you. You still have yet to fully acknowledge it.
Then you came to when Tsukasa was confused, when he let down his guard slightly. The moment when Taiju told Tsukasa that he could pummel him so he won’t break any more statues.
“I don't understand. You aren't making any kind of deal.” You mimicked what Tsukasa said.
“Right, In other words, under the right circumstances, we can negotiate with him. And with a little gunpowder on our side, we'll have leverage.”
You, Taiju, and Yuzuriha immediately had your hopes up when Senku announced his plan. You were so happy that you didn’t think to look back at Senku. You didn’t notice his hardened expression. But you should have. After all, the cardinal rule of the deal is this: there’s always a price to pay at the bargaining table.
“Come on! “We need to put out the smoke. If Tsukasa sees this, then he’ll know where we’re at,” you commanded.
You four used the remaining bags as buckets to carry hot spring water over to the smoke. It took a couple of trips, but you all were almost done until Yuzuriha caught everyone's attention.
You three turned around to look at her, but something else entirely captivated everyone. It was white smoke coming from the forest.
“Is it Tsukasa?” You could hear the anxiousness in Yuzuriha’s voice.
“No, he's in the opposite direction. And besides, he's got absolutely no reason to reveal his location like that,” Senku replied.
“So what then? A forest fire?” questioned
“No, natural forest fires don’t happen out of the blue. So it can’t be a coincidence.” Your mind raced, looking back to all the possibilities of what could’ve started the smoke.
“The timing suggests it's a response to the smoke we created.” Senku added to your observation.
“You two don’t mean...?” Yuzuriha couldn’t finish her sentence, afraid the impossible could be true.
“There's no other explanation…” You retorted,
“It's time to get excited, you two. Because it looks like we've found someone else in this Stone World.” Senku turned to the smoke.
Taiju was shocked. He didn’t think someone else other than him, his friends, and Tsukasa would be alive in the stone world. But Yuzuriha had other things to be concerned about.
“Don't you think we should finish putting out the fire?”
“Yeah, you're right!” Taiju agreed with her.
“Wait, hold on!” You stopped them before they could move further. “As far as they know, our smoke could've been caused naturally by a small volcanic explosion. We need to send a signal back before they decide to give up and leave.”
“Are you sure about this, Cosmo? Won't Tsukasa be able to see it, too?” Yuzuriha asked nervously.
“We'll be broadcasting our location to everyone, including him.” Senku chimed in.
Your body went cold, bracing itself for what he was going to say next. Would he command you to put the smoke out or set off another one and risk getting caught by Tsukasa? The tension was palpable, and the silence stretched on for what felt like an eternity. Finally, Senku spoke.
“Let's light it up! Fire the smoke signal!” With the command in place, you three rushed to grab flammable things.
“We're running out of gunpowder! Grab anything that'll burn and throw it in!”
“All right, I'm going to go get some firewood in the woods.” Taiju yelled,
“I’ll come with you!” Yuzuriha offered.
Suddenly, you caught her wrist, ready to warn her of what you talked about the other day, but the gentle curve of her smile stopped you.
“Don't worry, I’ll be with Taiju.” Then they both ran off down to the woods.
You watched as their figures disappeared as they ran feverishly down the mountain. It didn’t take long after that when you realized that you were just standing around and not helping.
“I-I’ll go look for some wood near the base of this mountain,” you stammered.
Unexpectedly, Senku grasped your hand before you ran off. You both stood like that, waiting for the other’s response, till Senku managed to utter something.
“Careful” was all that he managed to say.
You smiled, hands still conjoined. You rubbed your thumb against his hand gently. It was your unspoken reassurance. Senku reluctantly let go, watching your figure disappear in the distance.
—-------------
It started off peaceful. You were picking up sticks that were around and thinking about the mystery person who set off the white smoke. It was a shock to see that someone was alive.
Did they come before Senku and yourself? Are they nice? Who are they exactly? How did they survive for this long?
Those were all the questions that repeated in your mind. You were excited but also scared. What if they’re not friendly? What if they turn out to be like Tsukasa?
A stone blade was pointed at your neck. You recognize it to be the one you made for Tsukasa.
“Well hello to you too.” Your voice is calm despite the storm of emotions welling up in you.
“(y/n)” His voice, soft. Even when he had his blade pointed at you. “I suggest you stand up.”
You did as he said. It was no use fighting against him with no weapon. You're just glad that it was you who was captured and not Yuzuriha. She doesn’t have experience in this situation, unlike you.
The walk up the mountain was tense. Tsukasa’s brotherly aura attracted you, but the blade made your blood run cold, like ice.
Quite literally, as Tsukasa had to lift his weapon and carry you, princess style, the rest of the way.
“Why?” You managed to ask
“Because…” He paused, looking for a reason to persuade you. “Look at the state you’re in.”
“If it wasn’t for those evil adults that surrounded you, you'd have had a normal childhood. One where you didn’t need to be used as ransom or have a gun pointed to your head. Where you had the right to learn in a normal learning environment instead of having to beg for it.” Tsukasa started rambling.
You knew what he was talking about, all those incidents. They scared you into who you are now.
The ransom was the first scare to your psyche. You could vividly remember what happened, as if it was yesterday’s event. The blood, the yelling, and all the horrendous things those men said they’ll do to you if your baba doesn’t “pay up.” Afterward, you had trouble trusting strangers, and it still applies to the present day.
Then the Nanami party incident. Packed to the brim with rich people and investors alike. It was a party to remember, but for a different reason. It was an unfortunate circumstance that you left Al for the punch bowl. On your way, you bumped into a man who ended up using you as bait. He was going to use you as leverage against the (l/n) and the Nanami family.
Unfortunately for him, Daniel was on a balcony that overlooked the scene. He heroically jumped down and beat the man till he let go of you; Daniel didn’t stop there. The man’s family tried to charge your brother with first-degree murder, but with a skilled lawyer, he was swiftly proven innocent. With the context clearly established and witnesses backing Daniel’s actions as self-defense and protection, the case was closed, though the incident left discrimination in your brother's wake.
It was true; if there weren't evil people, then you could’ve had a normal childhood. But then you wouldn’t have moved to Japan and met Senku. Tsukasa wouldn't have met Daniel either.
“Yet here you are using me like those “evil adults” you despise.”
Tsukasa didn’t reply.
As you got closer to where Senku was at. Tsukasa placed you down and put his blade back to its rightful place, your neck.
Senku glanced back, Tsukasa’s blade to your neck. He anticipated that this would’ve happened when you went down. For a millisecond a fleeting thought passed through: He should’ve fought harder for you to stay. Senku chuckled, trying to brush the thought away.
“When one uses science to create a weapon, that's when the "strongest" man is no longer the most powerful. I'd say you're looking especially grumpy today. Tsukasa”
“Yeah. I suppose that is an accurate way of putting it. If you go down this road
of developing weapons and start reviving older generations, they'll begin fighting over established interests, and then we'll be right back in a tainted world.” Tsukasa glanced at you and your once-again frozen state.
“I don't mind getting my hands dirty if that's what it takes to stop that from happening.”
“And by that, you mean killing Senku the Science Man, right? I'm sure the whole world would be moved to tears by your merciful death sentence.” Senku tried to joke but ultimately failed.
“But before that, would you mind giving me the recipe for the revival fluid?” Tsukasa bluntly asked.
He moved the blade closer to your neck, so close that it was difficult to breathe without feeling it. Your breath halted, and Senku saw it.
“Nope, sorry. I guess I'm not as kind as you are.” Senku cracked his neck.
“I can only look at things as being logical or illogical. So, I don't care one millimeter what you do with (y/n). There are plenty of other females to revive.”
You knew he was bluffing, but that comment stung you, even in your current predicament.
Tsukasa raised his blade and swiftly cut something; you braced for the pain that was about to happen.
Instead, he cut a small lock of hair. Senku gasped as you tried to steady your breathing. It was a grim reminder of how ruthless Tsukasa can be, and it was a wake up call.
“Don't try to negotiate, Senku. We both know (y/n) is irreplaceable. Especially to you.” Tsukasa’s tone was as cold as the steel he held, unwavering and deadly in its resolve.
“With my extended stay, I noticed that she’s the only one who gets an endearing nickname from you. She knows and catches up with your mentality, often sparing it. Your banter often leads to flirty comments, and not only that, you two sleep together.” You almost choked hearing that. It wasn’t wrong, but this was the first time someone actually said something about it.
“Even a fool can see how much you care, so tell me, Senku. “What are you two really?” Tsukasa pushed, hoping to reveal the truth before he had to kill Senku.
You laughed, not heartily like you usually do, but a soft yet confident one was let out.
“Tsukasa, you don’t know our dynamic. We’re just friends.” You bluntly stated, ignoring your bruised heart.
You took Tsukasa’s weapon and placed it back onto your neck. This time the end of it actually touched your skin. Tsukasa gasped; this wasn’t how he wanted it to go. He didn’t want to hurt you. He thought that with your frozen state, you couldn't do anything.
“Senku! Don't give him the recipe! As long as he doesn't know how to make it himself, he'll have no choice but to let you live. He can't kill you. I’ll make sure he doesn’t.” You pulled the blade closer, fighting against Tsukasa, who was pulling back.
“I'm just a nobody while you're the protagonist, so survive for everybody's sake. And make sure they all have a future, okay?” You smiled, still fighting against Tsukasa.
Senku took a deep sigh. You were prepared to take hold of Tsukasa’s weapon and hold him while Senku made a run for it.
Tsukasa wouldn’t hurt you. That is obvious by the way he’s currently pushing back on the weapon.
But instead of doing what you expected him to do, Senku threw a curveball. Senku actually told him the recipe.
Tears started spilling, and you were shaking. You considered him a fool for not taking this chance and running far away. But you’ve always known that Senku just wasn’t the type of person who would do that. Another characteristic of his that drew you closer to him.
“Thank you so much, Senku. And now, I no longer have any reason to let you live.” Tsukasa took advantage of your emotional state and pushed you aside.
“Let's say I did let you live, right? You would develop civilization just like before. Can you promise that you won't do that?” Tsukasa moved dangerously close to Senku. But Senku’s only reaction was to chuckle.
“What the hell are you talking about? I could promise anything to stay alive.”
“No. You would never lie.” Tsukasa interjected, “Not when it comes to science, or…” He trailed off, eyeing you as you watched with bated breath.
“So will you promise me, here and now, and for all eternity, that you'll abandon science? Because if you can make that pledge, you can live, and then I won't be forced into killing you.”
There's a piece of you that wanted Senku to take the offer, but you knew stripping Senku of science would strip him of everything. You didn’t want that even more.
A pregnant pause filled the air with tension as Tsukasa awaited Senku's answer.
“Senku, you know that I'd rather not kill you. I'll ask again. Will you promise me, right here and now, that you'll give up on science?” Tsukasa tried to coerce an answer out of Senku.
“No, I can't. I can't do that.” Your heart sank.
“Of course not. I knew that would be your answer.” Tsukasa’s soft spoken voice contradicted the situation.
“Now don't go givin' me that crap. No matter what I said, we both know that you were gonna kill me at some point. You'd find a reason.”
“Maybe” was all Tsukasa could mutter.
Just kill me in one blow. Because leaving me to suffer till I die is both illogical, inefficient, and traumatizing,” Senku’s gaze shifted towards you as you started racing.
You couldn’t hear what Tsukasa was planning to do with Senku despite running up to them. Your plan was foolish, created by adrenaline, and acted on with desperation.
But it was completely foiled by Tsuasa, who had pushed you back, this time with more strength. You collided against some rocks; it took you a bit longer to get back up.
“Senku, I have a feeling that if we had met each other 3,700 years ago, Before all this, before the planet was turned into a Stone World...I think that you might've been my first real friend.” You ran up. Even more desperate, while ignoring your shoulder and back pain.
“Maybe” was all Senku replied before Tsukasa snapped his cervical nerve.
You were too late.

Rewrite
Hello everyone, Kai/Muni here!
Not sure how many people will see this but I need opinions.
🌙For the past week or so Ive been editing and rewriting chapters 1-7 and both the prologues to be cohesive with the three chapters Ive posted recently. As well as elaborate on scenes and fix some issues on my part. (Advice for everyone: don't write your fanfics at midnight when your tired and then post them)
🌙 Im just wondering if anyone would like for me to post the revised chapters here or not.
🌙Or if you'd prefer to read it on ao3 or Quotev
(Once I'm finished with all of them)

Chapter 10: Sisterhood
summery: The group finally gets to Hakone, while (y/n) and Yuzuriha's relationship strengthen

After the whole fiasco with the buddha statue you four continued East towards Hakone. There were a couple of breaks in between due to Senku and his terrible stamina, and soon dusk fell. You guys had to split up momentarily to gather supplies. Senku stayed back to make a fire with his dow drill that he first made. Taiju went out to gather wood and water. You and Yuzuriha were tasked to gather and hunt down food.
In a field nearby there was a pethera of edible mushrooms and herbs. Alongside the field there was a river with an abundance of fish ready to be catched, cooked, and eaten. Mimicking Tsukasa, you dipped your feet into the water and took out a spear.
You stayed there, watching the fish calm down from the sudden movement in the water. After a bit you swiftly thrusted the spear into the water aiming for the fishes that dared to be too sluggish to escape your strike. With two spears full of fish you headed towards where Yuzuriha was gathering.
“Zuri! Any luck?” You yelled after her
“Yeah! Look!” She lifted up a bag that was half full
“Nice! Here let me help you” You stuck the dull end of the spears into the ground with such vigor you almost broke the wood.
A sudden, unexpected laugh fell from Yuzuriha’s lips, “Gosh Cosmo I sometimes forget how strong you are.”
“Nah you're flattering me too much. I'm not as strong as Taiju or-” Your voice trailed off.
You didn’t want to think about him, him and what happened earlier. But your mind betrays you. It showed you everything from Taiju’s desperation right down to how Tsukasa moved in that altercation. It echoed over and over again with no button to stop with the only release to bang your head till you pass out.
“Cosmo?” Yuzuriha’s voice brought you out of your mind.
“Y-yeah” You managed to respond swiftly. Though the readiness in your answer made Yuzuriha suspicious.
“Cosmo is something wrong?”
“Everything is fine” You lied
“Don’t feed me that rubbish Cosmo!” She pointed her figure to your face. It was so close that you had to back up a bit to create some space.
“I know there's something you're hiding that's eating you away! And I know you better than anyone that once you start hiding something that you’ll start destroying yourself!”
“I-” You couldn’t mutter anything.
She quite literally checkmated you. You wanted to tell her everything. On how much that Tsukasa reminded you of your brother. Almost like a replacement for him. That alone tore you up. Replacing your brother? How could you? But you couldn’t help it, you let down your guard, told him secrets and stories. And now he's threatening your friends. But in the end it was your fault. Your fault for viewing Tsukasa as someone else.
You couldn’t tell Yuzuriha this, no, you didn’t want to trouble her with your issues. After all these were your issues and not hers. But that unbridled determination in her eyes didn’t help.
“He just reminds me of Daniel” You told the truth. Though it wasn’t the entire thing.
She just hummed in response. You couldn’t tell if it was a satisfied one or a I-know-your-not-telling-me-everything-but-will-drop-it-for-now kind of hum.
The walk back was awkward on your part. You so badly wanted to talk but you had a facade to keep up. In the end Yuzuriha was right, the guilt was eating you alive. But if you had to take this to the grave, so be it.
Yuzuriha on the other hand was talking about all the things that you both could make using the ingredients you both collected. She was ecstatic to finally eat which was a stark difference on what you were feeling.
“Hey Yuzuriha…” Hearing her full name coming from your mouth made her stop and turn to you confused.
“Can I ask you a favor?”
“Anything!” She replied
You took a deep breath, unsure if you should ask this or not. “I know Tsukasa. He’ll most likely try to get a upper hand in a deal like how Senku is trying to do right now”
“But he's already got an upper hand with his strength!”
“That's true but if Tsukasa figures out what Senku is making then he’ll need a new card to use to threaten him into submission.” You started pointing back and forth between the two of you.
“Us…” Yuzuriha let out a quiet gasp
“Yeah…” you paused before continuing. “You, because Tsukasa knows how much you mean to all of us since we depetrified you, and me because I’m Senku’s lab assistant so he should feel some sort of affection for me to hang around him and science a lot right?”
your lips curved into a soft smile. You wanted more than just simple affection but you know Senku is a man who is far removed from love.
Yuzuriha looked at you with knowing sadness and guilt glistening in her eyes. It was as if she was apologizing silently for your situation. After all she always teased that you two were couple goals, but you and Senku would always deny any sort of romantic relationship. Though at this moment Yuzuriha actually felt apologetic for how blind and dense you both were even after all these years.
“So please, if you could stay by me, I will make sure you're protected.”
“Arlight” She flashed you a smile.
Dinner that night was alright. You, Senku, and Yuzuriha didn’t talk unless necessary. You guys didn’t want to somehow bring up the incident. Taiju however was talking up a storm. Thanks to him the mood was saved though he didn’t know that.
For the sleeping situation, you were in between Senku and Yuzuriha. But you were closer to Yuzuriha as you both were holding eachothers hands. You guys held them tightly as if the boogie man was going to steal one from the other.
The next morning you guys needed to go upstream. With no motor boat you guys had to use the next best thing, Taiju. Honestly he should have an engine or a motor line named after him. That might be a good thing to invest in when Senku rebuilds the new world.
“Looks like our big water buffalo is actually struggling a little bit.” Senku teased
“Don't worry about me! I got this! There's still plenty of juice left in the ol' tank!
We'll be just fine. Uh.” Taiju paused as he spotted something on Yuzuriha’s foot.
“Hey, Yuzuriha, your toe is still kinda rocky-lookin'.”
“Yeah, I know. Not gonna lie, it's not great. But I don't want you to worry about me.” She blushed in embarrassment.
“But I am worried, tho–”
“Come on you big oaf we can fix that once we dock” Senku ushered him to keep moving.
For the rest of the ride Senku was giving directions to Taiju and looking back at you. You were quiet, too quiet for his liking. There were moments where you were quiet that he liked but all in all he loved hearing you. It meant that you were there right beside him.
At first he left you alone to process what happened. He knows betrayal hurts you more than being stabbed in the heart. It's why he doesn’t lie to you. But now it looks like you were calculating something in your mind. It concerned him, but not that much.
Once you guys were safely docked, Taiju whipped out a small bottle of miracle fluid, and asked Yuzuriha to sit down on a rock. He held her foot in his hand and poured the liquid on the rocky part of her foot.
“Feels like the pain is finally starting to go away.” she moved her foot around.
“Whoa! Does the revival fluid have some kinda healing power, too?” Taiju asked
“Though that would be amazing, it's just cracks filling in sweet pea” I answered
“ It's Another part of the de-petrification process.” Senku continued. “ I mean, we're still alive, even with these cracks in our faces, Yuzuriha’s shoulder, and Doll’s back”
You turned to him in shock. You didn’t know you had a stone mark so how the hell did Senku know?
“What? Don't give me that look” He smirked. “Don't tell me you also don't know the mark on your face”
You excused the cheeky grin he had and ran straight towards the river. With one good look you saw that he was in fact right. Underneath your left eye was a heart shaped mark with smaller thunder bolts coming emerging from it. This is when you realize that this is your first time looking at your reflection.
“Oh yeah! I was blown away when I first saw your mark! It’s so unique and way more intricate than ours!” Taiju spoke
“How come I didn’t know about this till now?! It's so embarrassing! Out of all things why did it have to be a heart” you dramatically weeped to your reflection.
Yuzuriha put her hand on your shoulder. “It’s not embarrassing, Cosmo! Actually, I think it’s really cute!”
“Same here!” Taiju jumped in with his usual enthusiasm. “Come on Senku! tell her she looks awesome with her mark!”
He took a look at your tearful face before he replied, “If I say it's cute then can we keep moving"
“So heartless!” Taiju yelled.
You wiped your tears away as you stood up, “No guys Senku is right, we need to get going or else Tsukasa will catch up”
You walk up right beside Senku before turning to Taiju and Yuzuriha. “And besides, the sooner we get there the sooner we can enjoy the hot springs in Hakone!” They both gasped in excitement.
.
.
.
It took till dusk once more to reach the hot springs.
“Ah! We made it to the goal, guys! Hot springs here we come!” Taiju yelled
“Wow! And the view of Mount Fuji is incredible!” Yuzuriha added
“It's great, yeah.” Senku mutter from under his breath, “But you two better not
forget the real reason that we traveled all this way.”
“So what's this "weapon of science"?” you asked. He chuckled in response
“Surprised you haven't figured it out Doll. It just happens to be one of the greatest
inventions in human history. And your personal favorite weapon”
His ambiguous answer still didn’t help you figure out what he was trying to make. Thankfully you weren’t the only one with the same sentiment.
“Smartphones!” Taiju yelled out again
“Sweet pea no- it's just too advanced for our technological period”
“Doll is right.” He lifted his hand to show a motion that you were all too familiar with.
It was a weapon you learned in order to protect yourself. A weapon that caused a lot of nasty rumors within the company retainers, and within the netizens. Many questioned and harassed your father asking him if he wanted to create another killer kid. Many days you wondered if it was right to even pick it up.
“The gun We're gonna make some gunpowder” he finished
“The stone age was two million years ago. Gunpowder was invented fairly
recently, in comparison. About 700 A.D. Basically, we're gonna warp ahead 1,998,700 years. A giant leap in civilization. Time to get excited, you guys.”
He took his hammer and started smashing to get some rocks from the walls.
“It's sulfur” You whispered, “So that's why you wanted to come here, Hakone’s volcanic activity provides an abundance of sulfur!”
“Ten billion points for you Doll” he smiled as he showed the black rocks in his hand.
“Alright then we need a bunch of this sulfur stuff right!” Taiju took his Taiju-sized hammer I made a while back. Then he started going at it that he might as well have done yours and Yuzuriha’s share of the workload.
“Hey cosmo wanna go take a bath?” Yuzuriha whispered into your ear
“Sure” You looked towards the boys before you turned back to her, “Let's quickly make a wall so they won't peak”
“Agreed”
“Where are you two going?” Senku yelled once realizing that you guys were not helping.
“Don't worry genius we’ll be back” Yuzuriha laughed in response.
You weren't lying as about 30 minutes you and Yuzuriha returned with bamboo and vines. It took another ten minutes before you two fashioned a wooden wall.
“So you guys are planning a bath, do you mind if I join?” You two turned towards a smiling Taiju who was covered in dust from head to toe.
“Sure no problem” You answered which confused the semi flustered yuzuriha. You gave her a cheeky grin.
The hot springs water felt nice against your skin. It was a warm and comforting hug that you never wanted to let go of. It was also relaxing. You turned around and crossed your arms on top of the edge; meanwhile, you laid your head on top of your arms. You were about to drift off to sleepyville with Senku’s happy laughs as a lullaby until you heard a voice speak.
“Awww Cosmo your back stone mark is a moon”
“What?” you turned to Yuzuriha
“Yeah it's a horizontal moon, It suits you!” she started tracing the lines on your back. It sent shivers down your spine. Yuzuriha took this chance and started tickling.
“S-stop!” You managed to voice in between laughs. She wouldn’t stop so you decided to tickle her back. Now it was her turn to beg to stop.
“Yuzuriha” Taiju’s voice leaked through the wall which made you both stop.
“Yeah” She answered
“I think I should tell you about what happened while we were turned to stone. On that day, long ago, when I had asked you to come and meet me over at the camphor tree…”
You could see Yuzuriha think back to that moment. “Well, Taiju? You wanted to tell me something back then. What was it?”
You poked yuzuriha’s flushed face and whispered “how cute~ you look like a little strawberry.” she promptly splashed her face with water which did NOT help. The hot springs water only added more heat to her face than cool it down.
“Yuzuriha, for the entire time I was a statue, all I thought about was finishing what I started to say.” Taiju’s voice finally came through
“For hundreds of years, thousands of years... But things have changed. And now, in this crazy Stone World with nowhere to run to, I just wouldn't feel right as a man to tell you what I was going to say back then.”
“Getcha a man who can wait” You nudged her
“Oh shut it cosmo” she giggled
“I-I'm sorry! I realize that this is all super vague and confusing and you probably have no idea what I'm talking about.” his voiced raised
“No. I'm pretty sure I do.” Yuzuriha replied
“It's up to us to bring back civilization. But once we've saved humanity… When that's been done, will you let me say it then, what I wanted to say 3,700 years ago? Will you please?” He pleaded. If it was anyone else you would’ve jumped into his arms and said yes. But since it's Taiju you started to tear up.
“Yeah. It's okay. We are gonna bring the world back. I'm sure of it.”
Your mind immediately jumped ahead a few steps and started imagining their wedding then their kids. That finally broke the dam of your emotions.
“Zuri when you two get married can I please be the maid of honor” Your voice boomed as the landscape echoed it louder.
“Of course silly! But only if you promise that I can be yours”
“Is that even a fair deal on your end? Your obviously gonna be my maid of honor”
“How about we make each other our children’s godparents?” She started tearing up from just imagining it
“Deal!” You started to mimic her teary eyes.
you both started talking so fast while crying that no one but you two could understand. At some point you two forgot that you were with boys. In fact you both went to sleep with puffy eyes while talking about the future once civilization is restored. The forgotten boys, however, were listening in. They were quiet and slightly red, though only noticeable if you look closely .
-------------------------------------------------------------------
originally supposed to end on a cliffhanger when you all see the smoke signal from kohaku, but I'm tired and supposed to attend some events tomorrow AND my back hurts </3.
Yapping for the day is over. Thanks for Reading!

The sound of a panicked Taiju echoed into your ear. “Wait, why is Nothing happening? Don't worry, Yuzuriha, it's fine! Is this fine, Senku? (y/n)?” He cried to you guys for answers.
You couldn’t answer, still trying to process the information that was handed to you not even a minute ago. Your mind drew a blank. Both from information about the petrification and memories of Tsukasa. You were trying to pinpoint just when he was awful, but all you could pull out was soft moments with him.
You guys would fight and train together with spears and fists. Stamina training that you believed that Senku needed more than you. Furthermore, there were times when he would give you the last fish. He believed that you needed more meat on your bone, which you vehemently disagreed with but still ate because he would bug you about it for the rest of the day or the day after. In truth, you had a hard time believing in Senku. But you know in your heart that he would never lie to you.
Poor Taiju was still looking at his friends for answers, but thankfully Senku stepped up. “Well, the reaction isn't instantaneous. The petrification is much like cryostasis. The stone shell acts as a protective coating made from trace metals in the body. An unknown process caused them to phase shift, and they took on a petrified state.”
“You lost me, Senku! It's so complicated!” You could see Taiju’s eyes almost pop out of their sockets.
Right here is when you would usually jump in and give a dumb down explanation, but you couldn’t even utter a cry. Senku saw this and jumped in about it being a theory from the year of experimenting you all did.
Suddenly the sound of cracking stones echoed around you. It brought you out of your mind. The stone fragments broke off of Yuzuriha as she fell gracefully into Taiju’s arms like a damsel.
You were about to cry. Scratch that you were crying. You didn’t know you were till Senku came up and rubbed your tears away from your face. His thumb stopped right underneath your left eye. Tears fogged up your vision, but you could still see his gentle gaze.
“Are you back to our world now, Doll?” He spoke in that same tone that annoyed you for years on end.
“Kinda,” you sighed. Wiping off the remaining tears while Senku tried to “catch Yuzuriha up.”
“Pardon the intrusion on your big moment,” Senku began, “but you need to make a decision before he gets back. He held up a finger.
“There are only two options, so choose carefully. Plan A: The two of you
Run away this instant and find a new place to live. The farther, the better.”
You knew that Yuzuriha and Taiju wouldn’t take that option. They are like you. They’ll stick right beside Senku like ink on paper. Together you guys were like birds of a feather.
“Plan B: We join together and fight to stop Tsukasa's murder spree, using the weapons of civilization.” Senku pulled up a second finger.
“Come on, man! Obviously, we'll stay and fight by your side! I mean really, what kind of people do you think we are?!” The tense air that Senku created was immediately demolished by Taiju’s immense loyalty. Yuzuriha jumped on board despite not knowing what was going on. It was a nonsensical moment, but it made you happy.
Tsukasa returned to crush that moment. Unfortunately, he came just when Taiju was yelling about Tsukasa’s murder spree. “So I'm "killing people"? Huh. I'd say that's a matter of perspective. I call it culling them. For the benefit of the new world.”
You turned to him first. His fierce gaze looked down upon your three friends, but it softened when he looked at you. When you caught it, you felt the sudden urge to run up to him and hit him over and over while you scream “Why! Why! Why!” while you cried. But you knew better.
Right now he was a predator while you guys were prey. You couldn’t treat him like the Tsukasa from before. One wrong move and you’ll all be dead. You had to stay vigilant.
Tsukasa dropped the lion skin, the one that he used on you the other night, on the ground. He was walking closer to you guys. Taiju swiftly jumped ahead, shielding you guys from any potential attacks.
Senku was slightly taken aback. He was surprised that Tsukasa wouldn’t hide his murderous intent, especially in front of you, the girl he's interested in. He thought that Tsukasa would at least wait till you were gone somewhere or kidnap you like some sort of yandere. Senku thought that Tsukasa would only do that after he got his hands on the miracle fluid and disposed of him, Taiju, and Yuzuriha.
Tsukasa then let go of what he was clutching onto in preparation for an attack. It was stone fragments, specifically the horrific expression in their eyes the person made when they were petrified. It angered Taiju, who saw it.
“Senku, if things go bad, please take care of Yuzuriha. And I know (y/n) is safe in your hands. I'm gonna stop him! Right here and now!” He charged straight towards Tsukasa.
You tried to yell at him to stop; after all, you know better than anyone about Tsukasa's strength and skills. But he wouldn’t listen. Taiju continued charging at Tsukasa as if he was a piece of red fabric and he was the raging bull.
You saw an arrow fly past Taiju and aimed at Tsukasa. You looked from the corner of your eye and saw Senku, with a crossbow in his hands. You couldn’t ask him when he made that and why he didn’t show you it because your attention was caught on Tsukasa. He had caught the arrow and slammed it down onto the ground just before he spun to get some momentum and then used it to kick Taiju. Thankfully, Taiju blocked it in time.
You were concerned for Taiju’s arm. You reckon that Daniel’s kicks, if done in a certain way, could lead to nerve and blood vessel damage to the victim. That's why he was prohibited from doing it too much and why he switched to overpowering his opponents to dodging their attacks and then landing a few soft blows before they all surrendered. So if Tsukasa is anything like Daniel, you hoped Taiju’s arm wasn’t broken.
“Nobody has ever taken one of my kicks full force and remained standing before… It's true, but what's even more interesting is the feeling I get that you actually refused to attack me just now. Why is that?” You heard Tsukasa ask.
“I don't hit anyone!” Taiju yelled. “You can hit me or kick me or
Whatever the hell you wanna do! But I'm telling' ya! You gotta stop breaking those statues! Because killing is wrong! End of story!”
A stupid thing to say to the strongest human that's currently sentient. But the sentiment was there, so you couldn't be prouder. For Tsukasa, however, he was confused. Taiju did make a deal or compromise; he just made a statement. Taiju would continuously use it every time Tsukasa spoke. So Tsukasa used a different tactic. He pointed towards the girl right beside you, Yuzuriha.
“That girl you just revived, what if I told you I'd kill her instead?”
You and Taiju quickly moved in front of her. Shielding her from Tsukasa. But it didn’t take long for Taiju’s injury to catch up on him. Of all things, his head started to bleed before he fell onto the ground in front of Yuzuriha.
“Oh no! Taiju!” Yuzuriha collapsed right beside him. You couldn’t afford to look behind and check up on Taiju.
You couldn’t take your eyes off of Tsukasa. You wouldn’t allow him to hurt any anymore of your friends. But you were also scared. You didn’t want to hurt him either. You still cared for him, but if you have to, you will do anything to protect your friends.
“It seems it did hurt him.” Senku came up and placed his hand on your shoulder. Breaking you free from the prolonged tense stares you and Tsukasa gave each other.
“He's bleeding like a stuck pig. He'll need a couple of days to sleep it off.”
“Yeah. So let's not fight each other. You guys just protect your girlfriends and quit worrying about some random statues. Meanwhile, I will do what I need to do.” Tsukasa picked up the lion skin cape he discarded earlier and walked away with a final warning.
“That arrow I shot was moving at over 200 kilometers per hour.” Senku finally spoke.
“That's crazy. He just grabbed it.” Yuzuriha replied.
“Yeah, and it didn’t stop him.” You finally spoke up, “So we need a better alternative, don’t we, Genius~?” You turned around and flashed them a grin. You tried to hide what you were feeling, but your grin gave it away. It wasn’t as happy as before. Senku obviously noticed but didn’t comment. He just started stomping on Taiju and coercing him to finally get up and stop pretending.
“What are you doing?! You said he needed to sleep for a few days!” Yuzuriha yelped.
“Give me a freaking break! Is this it? You're just gonna lose that easily, ya big oaf?” Senku still continued on, plunging Taiju into the ground.
You tried to get Senku off of Taiju. Even if Taiju had bottomless energy and dexterity, he was still human. He could still get hurt, and this might have been the case. Unfortunately for you but fortunately for Senku, Taiju woke up.
“No way! Not me!” He stood up and flexed. Ignoring the trail of blood that was trickling down the side of his head.
“Oh, wow! Are you really okay?” Yuzuriha spoke. Finally, another voice of reason, you cheered in your head.
“Don't worry! I'm made of stronger stuff than that! And I'm still crazy-full of energy!”
You were also tempted to reply with the “that's what she said” joke, but you fought the urge. As Senku pulls Taiju back from running to Tsukasa, you help bring Yuzuriha back to her feet.
“Are you ok, Zuri?” Your voice softens, “I know this wasn’t the scene you’d expect after being woken up after 3700 years.”
“Yeah, but I’ll be fine, Cosmo.” She smiled brightly.
Cosmo is a nickname Yuzuriha gave you guys when you were in middle school. You had just told her about the Halloween party you went to the previous year. It was loud and obnoxious, and not only that, people barely dressed up! You felt awkward in your Elphaba costume the entire time while you were watching the others in their half assed costumes. Turns out it was just a hangout for middle schoolers looking for their next relationships disguised as a Halloween party. That's when Yuzuriha got the idea of hosting your own party.
It would just be you two, Senku and Taiju, at Yuzuriha’s house. You two even planned matching costumes, Cosmo and Wanda from the Fairy OddParents. You were Cosmo while she was Wanda, and that's how you got the nickname.
Though, in addition, when Taiju heard, he also wanted to be apart, so he ended up becoming Timmy. With Taiju making your matching costumes into a group, you now had to get Senku in it. With limited characters, you guys chose the next best thing, Poof/Periwinkle. At first Senku refused, but after weeks of begging he finally caved. He just couldn’t resist you.
You missed hearing the nickname coming from Yuzuriha, especially since it reminded you that you had a picture of Senku in the first poof costume Yuzuriha made. It was a dress that he immediately took off once he realized what you guys made him wear (he was blindfolded; that's why he didn’t know at first). It was a nice memory to look back to and unfortunately will stay that way, as the phone that you had the photo on is long gone.
“In the Stone World, there's only one sure-fire path to defeating a monster. Advancing civilization and crafting weapons of science!” You both heard Senku’s voice in the distance.
He then went straight towards the hut, and the three of you followed him, curious of what he was doing. He then started crushing the pots you had previously made.
“Wow, what a waste. And they were perfectly good too.” You spoke sarcastically. You obviously knew what he was doing, so you drifted away for a bit to pack some stuff and get ahead of the clock.
“What the heck are you doing, Senku?” Taiju asked
“Staging a scene obviously. This way it'll look like he freaked us out so badly, we just took some food and ran off.”
“What do ya mean by that? Are we really gonna give up?” Taiju was surprised by Senku’s willingness to give up, which was uncharacteristic of him.
“No, but it'll look like it.” He replied, “If we can make some weapons of science before he realizes what we're really up to, then victory is ours. But if he gets wise to us? Game over. The race is on, you guys.” He chuckled and left the hut.
“Come on, we have some packing to do.” Senku was about to list off things that Yuzuriha and Taiju needed to find and get but was stopped by you at the bottom of the ladder with the last bag you guys needed.
“Always one step ahead of me, aren't you, doll?” He chuckled again.
“If I’m always ahead, maybe you should pick up the pace, sweetheart~” You let out a lighthearted laugh as you winked at him.
You were surprised to see some red on Senku’s face. You opened both eyes swiftly to try to get a better look, but it wasn’t there anymore. You chalked it up to the sunrays; yeah, it was the sunrays…
Taiju and Yuzuriha saw their friend quickly compose himself as if he hadn’t just contracted scarlet fever a moment ago. They knew thought the same as they glanced at each other with an unspoken agreement and silent understanding. Unfortunately for Yuzuriha, Taiju didn’t get it fully. She had to cover his mouth in order to not embarrass Senku further.
With a couple of extra spears for protection and about fifteen minutes away from what is the closest thing to a home in the stone world, Senku began to explain where they were heading for the weapons of science they were looking for. “We're gonna hunt for materials to make weapons, starting at Hakone!”
“Isn’t that about 80 kilometers away?” Your voice elevated in shock despite knowing beforehand where he was aiming to go.
“Just think of it as an adventure.” He smirked, “And don't worry, Doll, I’ll make the journey worth your while. I'm sure once you see what we’ll be making, you’ll get excited.”
You let out a sigh, contemplating whether or not you should say what you were going to say. You don't back down. No, that's not who you are. “Oh please, every second with you is enough to leave me on edge.”
Senku was taken aback and almost choked on his saliva. He was about to say something before Taiju chimed in.
“80 kilometers is like two whole marathons! We can knock it out in five hours!”
“Maybe a freak of nature like you can.” Senku’s voice spewed.
You and Yuzuriha noticed the pink petals that drifted from the sky; it was cherry blossoms. Its beauty attracted a lot of tourists from all over the world, but these petals were a bit different.
It wasn’t a surprise for you after all; the Prunus yedoensis weren’t self pollinating. Even if the birds' insects spread their seeds and pollen around, they wouldn’t be able to produce the same trees. So without human help, they would’ve been the first to die out. The four of you continued walking for another thirty minutes until you reached a cliff.
“Man, what an amazing view!” Taiju exclaimed with his big ol’ goody grin.
“It's perfect.” Senku brought out something from his utility belt. It was a sextant.
“It's been 35,970 seconds since sunrise,” he muttered under his breath.
“Wow! You just spit that number out like it was no big deal!” Yuzuriha exclaimed,
“Well, while he was a statue, he counted for hundreds of billions of seconds. So he's pretty good at it by now.” Taiju explained.
“What did you do, Cosmo, when you were petrified?”
You didn’t want to answer. You were still ashamed for not using your time wisely compared to Senku.
“She used her memory to re-read her favorite books and re-” You covered Taiju’s mouth quickly before he could continue yapping. It didn’t stop him, but it did make it inaudible, so I guess it's better than nothing.
“Recenter you two,” Senku commanded.
“A sextant is supposed to tell you your exact location based on the time. But unfortunately, this one seems to be total garbage. But without GPS, this is all we've got.” He looked down, trying to understand where in the world you four were at.
“Isn’t this around Kamakura?” You added
“That's what I'm thinking, but I'd love to know our true coordinates.”
“Huh. Think they’re still any buildings we can use as landmarks?” Taiju tried to help.
“Sweet pea… They've all crumbled after this long. There's nothing left.” From the corner of your eyes you saw Yuzuriha running away. You followed her, just in case she got lost, injured, or met a predator. This is definitely NOT a trauma response.
“Hey! What's the matter?” You heard Taiju call out from a distance.
“It looks like there's some kind of clearing in the trees up ahead!” Yuzuriha replied.
You guys stopped right when the trees cleared up. You gasped as you took in the sight of a familiar statue that stood tall against the test of time.
“Kamakura's landmarks are still standing.” Yuzuriha muttered.
“Our location is 35 degrees, 19 minutes north by 139 degrees, 32 minutes east.” Senku explained after catching his breath.
Yuzuriha started to tear up. The 3700 years finally caught up to her as she stared into the broken cracks of the Buddha statue. Memories of her and her family flooded into her mind with great pressure. It was more like a tsunami rather than a flood. It didn’t take too long for Taiju to notice the tears that fell from Yuzuriha’s face.
“Hey! What's wrong, Yuzuriha?! Did someone make you cry?! Was it me?!” His own tears threatened to fall.
“I'm not crying! I mean, I am, but it's not that kind of crying because it's not anybody's fault, okay? It's just... this is a lot for me to handle“. She paused, trying to find her words.
“I haven't been up for a full day, and none of this feels real to me yet. But seeing the Great Buddha of Kamakura like this makes me realize that we really are in Japan and thousands of years have passed by without us. I thought about my mom, my dad, and everyone else. And I just…”
Senku walked in between them. “Come on, there's nothing to worry about. We're gonna beat Tsukasa before too long, then saving humanity is right around the corner.”
This was his own special way of cheering someone up. No falsehood in his words, no unnecessary cheering, and no over the top gestures. It's one of the many things about him that people don’t notice. These are the type of people who just categorize him as a cold-blooded, heartless man who would marry science if he could.
But you can see the in between. The silent but caring actions he takes, the softened words, and the time he’ll spend just for you. No one will believe you, but that's no problem. You know him and his character, and that alone is enough.
You laugh at the antics that Senku was up to. He was about to take some copper to upgrade his sextant. Taiju was trying to coerce him out of it.
“Never a dull moment, huh?” Yuzuriha laughed right beside you.
“Not with Senku around.”

The morning glow awakened you from your slumber. Last night's moments quickly flash through your mind. You were glad that you found someone else you could relate to. After all, finding out your feelings for a certain scientist made it difficult to talk about your feelings like you would normally do. You couldn’t confide in Taiju as lately he's been trying to read the lines of yours and Senku’s relationship. But unfortunately his reading skills cannot decipher the classic work for literacy that your relationship has.
You look around, trying to get a clue on what time it is. Senku, Tsukasa, and even Taiju were gone and awake. Which means you managed to oversleep. It was the first time it happened in the new world so no one will fault you. Actually even if you committed a crime none of the boys will ever blame you, but you who prided on being reliable, were feeling very down about missing the morning sunlight.
“Morning sleepy head” Senku called out, “Did you have fun with your rendezvous with Tsukasa?” He jested but it had a slight passive aggressive tone that you weren't sure if you heard it right.
“Yeah!” You partly told the truth.
It was a rough yet illuminating night for you. Finding your brother’s student while also trusting him so quickly was something that you couldn’t believe that you could do. Perhaps it was because of the resemblance between the two or maybe it was because he has a brotherly aura on him that made him scream “trust me.”
In the end it worked and here you are wanting to be around him more. Ultimately it was because you wanted to talk to Daniel one last time. Not even Senku could provide that. You left to go find the man of the hour and help him hunt for lunch, or in your case brunch.
“So I'm guessing she didn’t talk about last night?” Taiju spoke to his friend.
“Of course not…” Senku replied.
He didn’t want to admit it nor look into it. He knows his Doll has been distancing herself while also putting on a facade of her normal caring self. How could he not know, he's been paying attention to her ever since the time at the planetarium space museum (it was actually when he first saw her walking down the road when they were six he just doesn’t wanna admit to it).
Though he had been suspicious, he’d been brushing them aside as they were actually closer than ever. After all, you both have been sleeping together (cuddling) these past couple of months. Senku just never thought that his doll world would be shaken by some guy they met a couple of days ago. He feels idiotic for thinking the same thing that Taiju had thought when they first met Tsukasa. All he can do now is stare as you run towards a man who you never met.
“Tsukasa!” you yelled.
“(y/n) you're finally awake” He turned towards you.
“Here let me help.” You tried to grab the spear in his hand. But his grasp was firm so it would take some actual strength to take it away from him. You looked at him, trying to get an answer. To which he took your hand off the spear and handed you a bow.
“I don't want you to go fishing right now” Tsukasa spoke
“What? Why!” your heart sank
“We don't have any fishing gear so you need to take off your clothes and go hunting in the water and you’re the only girl here with three guys” He patted you on the head. “You get where i'm going with this right?” He smiled
You sighed, knowing damn well what he means. So you left with bow in hand hunting for some boar, but not before you gave him a glare and a pout as you walked away. Tsukasa just laughed in return.
Couple of days passed like that. With you hanging around Tsukasa more and more. Learning about each other, sharing stories, it was like a piece of you that was missing had suddenly returned. It was therapeutic in a way, so much so that you never noticed an ever increasing glare from a certain scientist. It only stops at night where you and Senku seek each other for warmth. But poor Taiju, who's in between the one-sided crossfire of his two best friends, decided to help by asking for help from you.
The next day you were all at the beach. You and Taiju collect seashells while Senku and Tsukasa talk near a boulder. You stared at them. You were curious about what they were talking about, but you didn’t want to interrupt something between the two men. So you and Taiju just played a game of  “who can collect the most beautiful seashells” while you guys were collecting.
The soft golden glow of the morning sun reflected down onto the water that Tsukasa was staring at. It reminded him all too much of that fateful day, where he first met Daniel, and in turn you. He knew from the day that he knew of your existence that he was going to treat you like a little sister, he just never expected that you’d resemble Mirai day by day.
In some cruel twist of fate you did end up becoming his sister. Which is why Tsukasa was getting frustrated at the “genius” boy behind him who was staring daggers at him or the sand. Air was tense and it didn't seem that the boy would talk first so Tsukasa decided to speak up.
Started slow like an introduction of a story book. Spoke about freedom of the new world, then it got personal. Like an anecdote. Tsukasa was originally going to keep his cool but just reminiscing about the injustice that he faced made him angry.  He wasn’t his weak and pathetic self anymore he tells himself but there's an inkling of a feeling that he just wants to turn back time and just kill that old man. Frustrated, he just punched a head off a statue that vaguely resembled him. It rolled slowly over to Senku. Now it was his turn to speak.
“You do know what you just did don’t you?” he smirked. “It may just look like a statue but we both know you just killed a man”
“Of course I know” Tsukasa spoke with a tone that was a bit too pridely for a situation like this one.
“Tell me something Senku. Are you planning to bring back all the greedy, black hearted adults who ruined the world we came from?”
“That's rich coming from you. After all, does it count for Doll’s family?” Senku replied knowing well about their dark history.
Kave, the (l/n) chairman, and the adopted father of Daniel and (y/n). He is a beautiful man to the point where he could be considered a Disney princess. A caring man to animals, nature, and other people that he would risk his own health for them; and, the biggest family man that Senku considered to surpass Byakuya.
All this and the fact that Kave breaks the law every other day. What does he break? No one knows and Senku doesn’t know fully about it, but he doesn’t know that Kave has a powerful backing that's helping him.
Daniel has the opposite problem. He was accused of murder when he was a teen, and everyone knows this fact despite him being proven as innocent. But it follows him around like a permanent tattoo but thankfully people forget when they come face to face with him. They don’t believe that he did it because they’re too hypnotized by his handsome face. They didn’t even believe the rumor that he was a part of a gang that spreaded a couple of years later.
The (l/n) were a tight nipped family that loved each other and got each other’s backs. so If all the rumors were true and all the secrets were revealed, then they could easily be a top contender of being one of the most black hearted and cruelest people known to man. Senku knows that and he knows that Tsukasa knows.
“I think you know the answer Senku” Tsukasa turned behind him, facing Senku. “They only did it to protect each other” He paused.
“from the darker driven adults who robbed young people like them and us from our futures” Tsukasa glared at Senku with a hopeful glee.
“Think about it, we simply can’t bring that king of the world back! Thankfully we live in the stone world now, a paradise that hasn’t been ruined by greed. I think we should revive the young and purehearted back and keep this world natural and not owned by anyone...I'm sure (y/n) would agree with me.”
He paused once again but only to scan for Senku’s reaction. Yet Senku didn’t show one millimeter of emotion. Unsatisfied with Senku’s blank reaction he decided to elaborate further.
“You should know more than anyone how much she had to suffer because of those people” Tsukasa went right up to another statue. He placed his hand right on top of its head, ready to crush it. “ Don't you agree with me, senku?”
Tsukasa was right about to punch the statue into pieces before he was interrupted by someone. “No, I don't. That speech didn’t move me one millimeter. I'm the kind of guy that loves space and technology. I get excited by space, mech, Doraemon, and the weird and wonderful things that (y/n) brings along. So I'm going to use the awesome power of science to rescue every last person, and I'm ten billion percent sure that Doll would agree with me.”
Senku’s bluffing of course. He isn’t sure if you’ll agree with him ten billion percent but at least eight or nine billion you’ll agree with. But what he is sure of is that Tsukasa wont do anything rash until he is able to make his own revival potion, and that he needs to keep the miracle fluid in the cave a secret. Senku is also sure that Tsukasa is also not your type of guy.
“Hey guys look at what we got!” Taiju yelled from the distance
“Taiju, they're in the middle of something important, don't interrupt them!” You yelled after him. But he didn’t hear you, or he pretended to be deaf, but he continued on what he was saying.
“We got a whole pot full of miracle fluid from the cave! Now we can use this to save Yuzuriha!”
Keeping the miracle fluid tight-lipped has now gone down the drain. Senku would've been even more upset if you didn’t wrap something around his neck. It was a seashell necklace that was similar to the one that wrapped around Taiju’s neck and your own.
“Do you like it?” You flashed him a grin.
The sun reflected off your face like a halo. Senku couldn’t help but take more than just a second to look at you. Your cheeky grin brought him out of the dangerous situation that haunted y’alls very existence; It provided a sense of stability and comfort that he missed deeply.
“Heh. did you use up precious materials to make it” Senku finally spoke.
“Well it’ll be a shame if such pretty shells were to be crushed up” you crossed your arms, getting defensive. “Oh! And I made one for Tsukasa too!”
You went right up to the tall man and tried to put on the necklace. Seeing that you were struggling to reach, Tsukasa bent down hoping to make it easier to put on. When you finally managed to put it on him it looked strange against the rest of his color pallet. The pearly pink shells clashed with his deep tan colors that surrounded him.
“Thank you” He smiled which made your own even bigger.
“Now we all match!” Taiju beamed
It’ll be our symbol of the first de-petrified humans on earth for when we are able to bring back everyone else!” You added
What you didn’t know at this moment was that what you said helped Senku get away with his bluff from earlier. Senku took full advantage.
“We don't need symbols as an indicator for us, just our names should do the trick”  Senku spoke while smirking at Tsukasa cocky. Tsukasa just glared at the younger boy and growled.
You and Taiju on the other hand didn’t notice the hostile air that surrounded the other two. You guys were too busy discussing the designs that Yuzuriha’s shell necklace would have.
That day was spent getting everything prepared. After all, the next day is when Taiju’s soulmate comes back, and when another girl joins the group.
.
.
.
The next day you placed the shell necklace that you and Taiju created the previous day, on Yuzuriha’s neck. In the end it was covered by the scarf you made for her the previous winter. Not seeing the handiwork that you and Taiju put in made you sad.
“Well at least it’ll be protected right?” Taiju cheered, lifting yuzuriha’s statue up as if it was made of cotton.
“Your right” you forced your tone to brighten.
“Huh for some reason we don't have enough revival fluid for even one person” Senku's voice caught your guy's attention
“What?!” Taiju suddenly dropped the statue. “Did I really grab it too soon?!”
“Don't drop her!” You scolded despite it falling from a couple of inches and could barely break or harm her. In truth it was a diversion for yourself. You knew that Senku wouldn’t just not have enough of something by sheer coincidence. You really want to question him but you knew better to not comment, at least not at the moment.
“Just grab some more. We’ll stay behind and play truth or dare or something, though do make it quick would you, big oaf”
“Of course! Be back before you know it! Full steam ahe-” before Taiju could get away into the woods. Tsukasa grabbed him by his back, near his rear.
“I'm the fastest, so it makes sense for me to go, but I'll needed to know exactly where to find this miracle fluid”
Taiju immediately told Tsukasa the directions, which didn’t strike you as odd but Senku’s reaction did. He was chuckling, and even though you were facing behind him, you could tell that he was smirking. At what? You presumed it to be Tsukasa or Taiju, but you don’t know why.
Tsukasa immediately left once he was told the directions. He was like a bolt of lightning. Stomping feet decrescendo as he moved further away. After a quick stretch Senku finally spoke.
“Tsuksa is finally gone isn’t he” But before either of you or Taiju could reply, Senku grabbed another bottle with even more miracle fluid inside.
“Lets make some revival juice, we’ll bring her back ASAP before he was a chance to return”
Senku quickly moved into the makeshift laboratory. You and Taiju followed him, asking questions along the way.
“What's going on? You literally just said that there wasn’t enough revival fluid!”
Then it hit you. Why Senku was acting weird earlier. Why Senku just so happen to “run out” of miracle fluid at that moment. Why Tsukasa was eager to get to the miracle cave.
“You did that to get rid of Tsukasa” You began to speak which caught the attention of the boys.
“You lied about not having enough miracle fluid to convince Tsukasa to leave before we revive Yuzuriha.” You were going to say another thing but in the end you didn’t say it. You were afraid of it becoming true.
“Tsukasa wants to remake this world where only the strong survive. That kind of thinking doesn’t move me one millimeter” He laughed “But a civilization-building game gets me excited”
“Yeah ok you don't need to explain (y/n) and I trust you to make the right decision” Taiju spoke up. “Something happened while we were gone, am I right?”
“Yeah…I'm sorry Doll…I know you care about Tsukasa a lot. If it helps any he is an awesome guy I can admit that. But he just so happens to be a murderer.”
You wanted to dispute it, after all Daniel was accused of the same thing but was innocent, but you couldn’t. The accuser wasn’t some jealous person or someone after a wad of cash. But rather it was someone who you trust exponentially, someone who doesn’t joke around. Someone who doesn’t get jealous, it was someone you love. You could even dare say more than your family.
In the end there was a small piece of you that didn’t trust him. But there was an even bigger piece that did.

It was a solemn day when Tsukasa realized how evil adults were. It was also the day when he met the man who became the exception. It didn’t start off like that, though. A young Tsukasa visited his sister in the hospital, who was deathly sick. The boy, hoping it would help her feel better, went out to collect seashells at a beach nearby. What the boy didn't realize was that he had trespassed on private property.
An older man, who reeked of alcohol, came and bashed him on the head, causing him to fall onto the sand. The poor boy, who had barely passed the age of ten, couldn’t do anything but lie there hopelessly. The pretty shell he had collected broke upon impact, just like his heart and trust. It was then a boy who was just six years older than him came up and blocked the next punch. The boy’s name is Daniel (l/n). The oldest child of the (l/n) family.
“What the hell are you doing?” The raven-haired boy yelled.
“This hooligan is stealing from my property!” The alcohol-raged man yelled back.
The altercation between the two older men provided the young boy a means to escape. He took the broken shell and ran off. He had hoped that he wouldn’t meet the two ever again. But fate tends to play mean jokes.
Tsukasa placed the broken shell right beside his unconscious sister. The scene that happened moments before replayed in his mind like a broken record. A consistent reminder of how weak and pathetic he is and how evil adults could be. It didn’t help that his parents didn’t care about what happened to him, nor did they care about their daughter, who was in the hospital half dead.
They were poor, relying on the government to help keep his sister alive. It was at that moment, watching his parents watching TV and drinking instead of working, that he decided that he needed to support Mirai by himself. He and his fist.
It started by running and doing push ups on monkey bars, using all the free time and strength he could muster. Meanwhile, he started doing matches. Men that were over twice as big looked down upon him for a good reason. Tsukasa was still small, with no meat on his bones and no experience. He was a perfect dummy, a ragdoll, but not for long.
Tsukasa had something these sick and perverted adults who came for the pleasure of gambling, fighting, or just seeing a young boy getting beaten up didn’t have. He had a reason to fight, a reason to live, and a resolution to push past his limits. He still lost, but he also put up one hell of a fight that the spectators were enjoying.
After months of continued fights, bruises, and battle scars, there stood someone Tsukasa swore he didn’t want to meet. Daniel (l/n), the genius monster fighter kept under human skin. Rumors spoke that he mastered all forms of fighting, with his specialty being boxing and martial arts. The very thing that Tsukasa is fighting him with.
But in the end, Tsukasa didn’t get to fight Daniel, but he did win against him. It was his first ever win against the older boy, and it was the only fight that Daniel lost. How did this happen? Well, Daniel surrendered the match, which caused everyone to groan as they lost all their bets. Anger and injustice filled Tsukasa after the match. He ran up to Daniel, who was talking to a blond haired man.
“Are you looking down on me?! Why did you surrender?!” Tsukasa accused
“I didn’t realize that they allowed young kids like you to be in on these matches.” The blonde interrupted. The raven-haired boy stole a glance at the younger male, who was still fuming.
“Dad, do you remember the kid on the beach that Mr. Sato’s son hit unjustly?”
“No way you're that kid.” Daniel’s dad bent down. “I’m sorry, kid, for what happened. It’s my fault that I couldn’t control my retainers and, in turn, hurt you.”
The blonde passed a couple of bills that Tsukasa was afraid of taking. The money that was being passed was more than what the young boy had ever seen. Let alone imagine.
“It isn’t much, but it should suffice.” The blonde spoke.
But before Tsukasa could reject it, his manager spoke up to call him to his next match. Tsukasa had no choice but to leave the rich men alone, standing there.
“That poor boy, he shouldn’t need to do this.”
“Yeah, I agree, but there's nothing we can do; he signed a contract.” Daniel replied.
“Unless I buy him out of that agency.”
“Excuse me, you'll buy him out of there?” Daniel stared at his father in shock. “If you do that, then the retainers will surely voice their complaints.”
“As if they don't already do that.” The blonde waved off as he looked yonder at the young, brown haired boy getting beat up by a taller and buffer man.
After that day, Tsukasa got the surprise of his life: his management was being switched over to the (L/N) company. Specifically under Kave, the company chairman and Daniel’s dad. It was a surprise that he didn’t want, but now his older self is glad that it happened.
But Daniel was the one who taught Tsukasa how to fight. He helped him get past his weaknesses and pushed him towards his limit. He taught him the good, the bad, and the downright deadly moves. Though only the last part was only taught for self-defense.
Like Kave, Daniel is kind and attentive. He would visit Mirai from time to time throughout the years with Tsukasa. Gave gifts like a seashell necklace, chocolates, a radio, and other small things.
Two years passed by in a flash. The young teen turned eighteen, an adult. Daniel truly became the exception to Tsukasa's distaste for rich and manipulative people. In fact, the entire (l/n) family became the exception despite not meeting the youngest member of the family.
Another couple of years passed, and Daniel decided to retire from fighting. The decision was sudden, but once Daniel explained it to his student, Tsuaksa, the reason became thoughtful. On the day of his departure, Daniel left a message to Tsuaksa. It was all the things he couldn’t say before the big argument that happened a couple of days before. It was for his sister, (y/n) (l/n).
Tsukasa didn’t think that he would meet the young lady, but he still kept the message in case he ever does. He's thankful that he did, as she stood right ahead of him about 3,700 years later. With a glare that reminded Tsukasa of the one he received at his first match on the rink that fateful day.
I stared at Tsukasa, wary of his next move. Suddenly he moved forward. I reacted instinctively. It was the dead of night with no one else knowing where we were. It was the perfect time for an “accident” to occur.
“I'm not going to hurt you, so you don't need to kill me.” He spoke.
“How do I know you're not lying?” Venom spewed from my mouth.
“I’m not the type of man to hurt my teacher’s sister.”
That's when I realized why he was so familiar. He looked like Daniel in a way. Tall, stood straight, had an aura of “don’t mess with me,” and most importantly, they had a face card that never declined. That part pisses me off the most. I recalled that Daniel took a student on when I was eight, but I had never formally met him, just his name.
I sighed, let my guard down a bit, and spoke, “I should've known who you were; Daniel talked about you a lot.”
“He talked about you too.” He chuckled. “He loved you a lot, you know.”
I was soon swamped with emotions. One of which was guilt. I desperately missed him a lot, but I couldn’t see him again. That's not because he's across the world and we’ve reverted to the Stone Age. But because I told him off for quitting boxing and martial arts suddenly and leaving for America. I didn’t apologize even on the day he departed for his plane. Even crying into my baba’s arms didn’t help.
“I know…” I looked down, not sure if it was true or not. Lion skin wrapped around my body as Tsukasa pulled me closer in for a hug.
“You don't need to cry; he loves you.” He wiped the tears that were streaming down my face. I didn’t know I was crying.
“He cared about you before and even more so after your fight, and a couple of millennia won't stop him either; he's stubborn like that.”
“Yeah…you’re right.” I flashed him a smile.
We were like that for a while. I just sat on the sand watching the stars. His lion skin covered both of us. Though it wasn’t really needed, as his arm brought me closer toward his body, where I was kept warm enough there. The action reminded me of a similar moment with Daniel. I was six, and he was fourteen, and we were stargazing with Baba and Al.
Due to the big city lights, we couldn’t see as many stars as I thought we could. Needless to say, I was disappointed. But with no light pollution, we could finally see the night sky in all of its glory. Though I should’ve paid attention to the warnings. There was no moon floating that night.
I fell asleep under Tsukasa’s arms.
I felt something go limp right beside me. I looked over and saw that (y/n) was sleeping. She looked so peaceful, so tranquil, that I was almost afraid of waking her up if I moved. But I knew she would be uncomfortable in this position. I placed the skin on top of her and swiftly lifted her up and carried her, princess/bridal style, to the camp.
I saw someone at the bottom. I knew instantly that it was Senku from his hair. He stopped what he was doing to look up at me. He raised a brow and asked what happened.
“Nothing interesting,” I replied.
“Oh? I reckoned something interesting did happen. Doll wouldn’t fall asleep in a stranger's arms otherwise.”
I just looked at him and then at (y/n). I remembered what Daniel said in the past. Ishigami Senku, when I first heard it coming from his mouth, I knew I had heard of it before, and I was right.
I only know of Senku from Daniel whenever the topic of (y/n) would come up. Because of that, I know that Senku and (y/n) have been friends since they were preschoolers. I also know how much trouble they’ve been up to with science as the catalyst.
“If you're that curious, then you should know that I’ve known her for a very long time.” I went past him to climb the ladder.
Senku just stood there. I couldn’t tell you exactly what he was thinking, but I do know one thing he was most likely thinking about: (y/n). I didn’t need any of Daniel’s stories nor being told straightforwardly by Taiju to know how much he cares for the girl.
From the way he looks at her, speaks to her, and even touches her, say one thing: Senku likes (y/n). Though neither he nor (y/n) can see it.
It's funny and ironic because Daniel also likes his best friend, and he also likes Daniel back. The same situation happened with their dad and (y/n)’s bodyguard, Al. Are all the (l/n) cursed with this? It's even funnier because not one of them shares a blood tie with each other, yet they’re more alike than most families.
I wanted to provoke him. To hopefully make him realize his feelings and to give a (l/n) a happy ending unlike the others. “And I had my eye on her for a long time as well." I knew that if I could just nudge him in the right direction, maybe he would finally see the truth that he tries so hard to be blind of.
It technically wasn’t a lie, as I have been looking for her to pass on a message. Though I have yet to finish telling the message. I laid (y/n) down and tucked her in. Using the blanket that was tossed aside.
“Tsukasa, can you please take care of my sister while I'm gone?” Daniel’s voice echoed in my mind.
“I will…as if she's my own,” I murmured quietly.

Senku and Taiju are taking a while. The walk to the tree isn’t far, maybe thirty minutes at most. But they’ve been gone for almost two hours. I was starting to become restless. Did something happen to them?
Right when I was about to head out and find them. They come out of the forest shadows with…a man?
Last time I saw Zuri I was pretty sure she was a woman. Plus her hair length was half as his, and she was shorter than Senku, not taller. Something must've happened to them if they had to revive this man instead of Yuzuriha.
“Hey Genius! Sweet Pea!” I yelled trying to catch their attention
“(y/n)!” Taiju yelled while running to me. He was carrying something, a stone statue. It was Yuzuriha! He placed her down against the tree and near the ladder. I quickly jumped down and asked why they didn't revive her. While Senku led the new guy around.
Taiju then explained to me that he and Senku had a run in with a pack of lions. They were almost killed if not for “The strongest primate Highschooler.” I recognized the title. It was passed down to Shishio Tsukasa who had earned it after a couple of years when my brother first rejected it.
“So you must be Shishio?” I asked the man
“And you must be Doll, or would you prefer to be called (y/n)?” He raised his hand. “I heard so much about you, but you can just call me Tsukasa”
I took his hand into my own. It was a lot bigger than mine, he could probably crush it if given the chance.
“(y/n) is fine” he then turned to Senku
“I suppose family names don't really mean much in this world. I’m Senku, The brainy one behind our scientific advancements. Taiju is the simple one, he handles all of the grunt work, and Doll here picks up all the slack.” Taiju then came and took Tsukasa’s hand.
“I'm Taiju, the simple one, It's true. Senku and (y/n) do most of the thinking around here”
“What have you three been surviving on?”
“Mostly wild greens and mushrooms, when doll has enough time she’ll bring home deer, boar, and rabbit” Senku replied to
“yeah…I haven't had enough time to hunt a lot” I scratched the back of my head, feeling embarrassed. I recall the amount of times Taiju had expressed wanting to eat meat till his belly exploded. Thinking about it makes me feel remorseful, as Taiju once again says that he wanted to eat till he drops dead.
“Well you three don't have to worry about that anymore. I’ll take care of all the fighting and the hunting” Tsukasa left the shack in a haste in some random part into the forest.
“That's not where the boars nor the deer are at!” I yelled after him.
I haven't met someone that could match my pace in a long time so when I had to push myself more in order to catch up to him. I was a bit taken aback. His aura reminded me of someone a long time ago.
“I'm surprised you can keep up with me” He spoke
“Back at ya, but we should turn around because we won't find deer or boars here” I gave him my signature smile.
He followed me as I led him to where I would usually find some boars. Unfortunately for us, they started to run because they felt the slight rumble in the earth as we approached them in notch speed.
“Darn we weren’t stealthy enough”
“It's not a big matter, I prefer a predator and prey chase” He sped up to get ahead of the herd of boars. Then he grabbed the leaders by their nostrils and flipped them over. After that he gave the next round a swift kick to fly them unconscious. He repeated those motions till all of the boars were either on the ground or had run away.
I paused, looking at the scene in front of me. “Heh…that's not how I do it” I paused a bit.
“I would’ve preferred to let them not know what's coming so as to not scare them. They’re just as innocent as any of us. After all, they're just trying to survive just like we are” my voice softened. It was so soft that I’m not sure if he heard it or not. But he gave me a nod and carried most of the board while I carried the rest back to the camp.
He wasn’t done however. He went and caught birds, then took one of the spears I made and started hunting in the sea. He created a whirlpool, which would’ve been difficult if it were a regular person.
“Oh, Wow! This is awesome!” Taiju yelled.
“I know right” I replied and then turned back to face tsukasa. Suddenly someone covered my eyes. I didn’t need to know who or what my eyes needed protecting.
“Now that you guys have me on your side. You won't have to just dream about filling your bellies” Tsukasa posed in front of his game.
“Great, I'm happy and all, but could you please put on some damn clothes?!” I screamed at him, before hiding my face in the crook of Senku’s neck. “I almost saw a fully naked man”
“Right…yeah…I apologize” He then left to go put on his clothes
“Come on Doll, let's go make a smoker to preserve some of this fish” Sneku guided me away from where Tsukasa was headed.
Remembering what I know about smokers, I grabbed some sticks from the trees, and some kindling laying around. Taiju was spinning a piece of sharp wood into a wooden log really fast till he got some sparks going. I tossed some kindlings and voila, a fire started.
Senku tied together three large sticks and another thinner one that was fashioned like a hanger. That's where he hung the fish as the smoke from the fire blew under it. After a while Tsukasa joined us.
“Ah I get it! So if we just go ahead and cook the food, then we don't need a fridge to keep it in.” Taiju spoke
“Not quite sweet pea. We’re smoking the fish by using the aldehydes in the smoke to kill the microbes.”
“I don't get it that much but I trust what you guys do!” The statement made me chuckle.
“With (y/n), Senku, and I working together, we should have plenty of preserved food.” Tsukasa then started walking away which was weird. I didn’t even pay attention to whatever Senku was saying or what Taiju was yelling about.
I just watched Tsukasa walk towards a boulder and smashed it. We all gasped in shock at his sudden aggression. I was about to ask him about what he was doing until I saw a pair of legs from where the boulder was at.
“Sorry if I startled you” He picked the petrified lady with such softness it was as if the man who crushed the boulder just a mere seconds ago didn’t exist.
“I just noticed this person buried under that rock”
“I said he was a solid dude, didn’t I” I saw Taiju’s ego rise, which made Senku chuckle
“It's like having a superhero on your team, huh?” The remark was off from what he would usually say, but I decided to not say anything about it.
When it was time to finally eat, Taiju did in fact have his dream come true. He ate the most fish out of the four of us, in fact he probably ate more than us combined. His belly was protruding from his clothes that I could’ve mistaken him as a pregnant lady.
“Pop quiz” Senku bagan speaking. “Who here can tell me what's the most important component we need as of now, the right answer gets ten billion points”
I raised my hand, eager to answer his question. “Not you Doll, you obviously know the answer.”
“Is it a smartphone” Taiju yelled out
“Yeah sure smartphones” His tone displayed what he wanted to actually say
“smartphones would be nice to have, huh? How many tens of billions of years ahead are you?!”
“Maybe iron?” This time it was Tsukasa that tried
“Iron’s pretty important but not at this stage, there's something far more useful. Doll, would you like to say the answer?” Senku gave me his signature smirk which made my smile flow with confidence.
“Its calcium carbonate isn’t it”
“Of course!” Taiju spoke but quickly answered with the fact that he doesn’t know what we’re talking about.
“Do you mean lime?” Tsukasa asked
“Yup” Senku replied
“Sweet pea, it's the stuff they use mark athletic fields”
“Cool! So we’re going to have to find a gym storage locker and grab some whatever-that-was carbonate?!” He yelled
I loved Taiju. I love him very much. I think of him as another family member of mine. But boy does he make me wonder how humility survived thus far.
I covered my ears knowing what's coming next. Senku snapped. He started yelling at Taiju and because he was sitting next to me, I needed to cover my ears to save them.I unconsciously blinked my right eye, causing Tsukasa and me to make eye contact. He has been staring at me for some time. For how long? I don't know, but I quickly deviated my eyesight to Senku who stood up.
“Come on Taiju, think. You know those shells you’ve been using to shave that big oafish face.” He picked up a shell that washed up from the waves. “If we pulverized them we’ll have plenty of calcium carbonate in no time”
“Yeah! Looks like I'm in for some serious brawn duty!” Taiju stood up with his basket bag on his back, and left to dig up some shells from the beach. He picked them up with such speed that it resembled a metal detector scanning for shells.
“Sweet pea be back before it gets too dark or else you’ll get lost in the dark again!” I yelled
“Ok!” he replied. Picking up his speed, the sand from his feet started to exe five feet.
We were getting ready for bed till we heard someone plop something down below. It was Taiju and his many bags of seashells that he collected not that long ago. The amount of full bags of shells should’ve exceeded the normal human level. These kinds of moments where Taiju displays his speed and dedication will always surprise me. The next day he crushed them up into powder by the time I was fully awake and ready to think.
“Calcium carbonate really gets me excited”
“Of all things Calcium carbonate turns you on? What kind of strange things are you into?” I nudged him while smirking
“How funny Doll” he replied, raising an eyebrow and leaning in slightly. "If you want to find out then I guess you’ll have to find out what else gets me excited, won’t you?" A sly smile played on his lips as I met his gaze.
“I appear so” I leaned in, also offering a smile.
“Guys what are you doing with this calcium carbonate stuff!” Taiju interrupted.
Senku made eye contact with Taiju and then chuckled. “Check it out! There’s four super useful things you can do with it”
He then went on ranting about all the ways we could use it. The first is agriculture. We’re not farming yet so we’re not able to use the calcium carbonate for that.
The second is construction. Heating it and mixing it with sand makes mortar, which is like cement but less sophisticated. Senku and Taiju I had to make that while I applied it onto the treehouse.
The third was hygiene. Blend the calcium carbonate from seaweed and mix it with oil which makes soap. We all know that soap kills germs, and germs make us sick. If left alone it could kill us. In a world with no immediate medical help or medicine, it's the next best thing.
I came down from the house. Finished cementing the house together while Senku and Tsuasa had a very tense conversation. It was until Taiju came by did I get called my Senku. “Hey doll I did say there were three uses of calcium carbonate right.”
I looked at him and then at the brown hair men. “Yeah you did.” I have no idea why he wants to lie to the others but I trust his judgement. If he doesn’t want them to know then they won't. But it's obvious what its fourth and final usage of it was for the miracle fluid.
That night I couldn’t sleep, even in Senku’s arms. I gently maneuvered around his arm that was wrapped around me. The slight change in his breathing made me pause. I was scared that he was going to wake up and ask what I was doing. The sound of Taiju’s snoring didn’t help my nerves.
I quickly broke free and grabbed two handmade torches. I lit one of them up and started heading to the beach. It was a dark night that night, but it was a perfect time to see the stars.
As I was basking in the beauty of the stars, I heard a rustle coming from behind.
“Now that I finally have you alone, Do you know a man named Daniel (L/n)?”
I turned to stare at Tsukasa. He was standing in between the grass and the sand. Face hardened into a glare. The soft wind animated his long brown hair and the skin of the lion he killed. I should’ve known he wasn’t asleep. He didn’t make one peep earlier.
“Yeah that's my brother” I told him naively
------------------
Lowkey can’t wait for the next chapter!!! Can you guess what character I based (y/n)’s brother off of before it comes out? (I didn’t base shit its the same person)

Taiju and Senku were standing around the contraption that Senku made a few weeks ago when waiting for the wine to ferment. I stayed at the top of the house, near the ladder, as I didn’t trust that thing to stay intact. After all it was Senku who made it, and his luck is usually in the negatives.
It did in fact break while Senku explained its origin in mesopotamia. It had gotten all over him, his hair included.
“Oh my god are you ok” I was trying to sound concerned but I was just laughing inside. I grabbed some extra deer skin that we were not using and wiped the wine from Senku’s face and then blotted it to get any excessed wine off of him.
“I’ll be fine” He forced a smile. I knew he was lying
“Don't lie to me” I quickly stripped him from his clothes as more time passes the more the wine will stain the deer skin.
“I’ll go wash your clothes down at the river, you guys clean up while I'm gone.” I scurried away not waiting for a reply. It was totally not because I didn’t want to be around a naked Senku.
Washing the clothes was a pain. I would normally not clean them but knowing the boys it’d be best if I take over. Cleaning off the wine was a challenge, it was even more so because I didn’t have any soap or detergent. Not only that I didn’t have any hydrogen peroxide for a proper soak that’ll have taken most of the wine off.
After a while of painful handwashing I finally got the remains of the wine off of the skins. After twisting as much of the water out of the skins, I went back to the treehouse. While I was gone Taiju went out to collect some more grapes, and Senku cleaned up from the accident.
Taiju started a fire and then got some food cooking beside it. Senku on the other hand was getting mad at stirring the pot filled with freshly made grape juice, though he was most likely mad at the fact that he would have to wait another three weeks till we can make that nital he talked about before.
I fully took advantage of the fire and hung senku’s clothes and the deer skin that I used to blot the wine off. It took until noon the next day for them to be fully dried. I caught him once again making that strange contraption, but this time I offered to help him. He gladly accepted it.
The experimenting finally commences when Senku made that brandy wine he wanted. Since not one of us didn’t know the ratio needed for the cracks to form We ended up mixing random ratios and testing them on the petrified birds. It took a couple of days, and I could see Senku’s motivation diminish slowly. Knowing him, he would think that this hypothesis was wrong and we would have to go back to square one.
It wasn’t often that you would see him like this. Which is why I always try to help him in any way shape or form. Many would argue that I already do that, but I disagree. I’m just a simple spectator, just living through someone else’s story through my own eyes. So I’ll watch the protagonist till he needs my help, in which I’ll do anything.
The sound of rocks cracking silenced all tension around us. The feather I was experimenting on finally cracked, and the culprit was in my hand.
“Oh my gosh (y/n) You did it!” Taiju shook me. If I was a baby, I would’ve had baby shaken syndrome.
“Do you remember the ratio, doll?” Senku asked. I gave him a smile in response, that was all that was needed. He asked me to make some more and we’ll all meet outside. It was weird since we were already in the shack, but I didn’t question it as Senku was acting a bit weird.
I did as I was told and I met him and Taiju outside surrounding a petrified bird. Senku asked me to pour it onto the bird. The slightly familiar faint sound of stone cracking silenced all of us who were anxiously awaiting to see the outcome, and to see if the first try wasn’t a fluke.
“Listen up, big oaf. Doll already knows this lesson so I keep brief so as to not bore her. Lesson one: It's not that there are things science can’t explain, not in the least” Senku started talking which caught our attention.
“There are rules behind everything that happens science is just the name for the study pain in the ass effort that goes into finding out what they are”
Then the stone opened around the bird’s eye, that was the moment when we all realized that we had done it. We made a cure. All thanks to science.
The bird fully broke free and started to fly up into the sky. Then it started circling around us as if it was saying “thank you.” That moment made my heart swell and my lips curving brightly. The sound of Taiju’s signature scream of joy added to the moment.I looked around for Senku who went to sit down.
“Are you ok there genius, you seem a little lonely” I sat beside him
“Couldn’t be any better, doll” He replied. “It just took us a little over a year, it didn’t take as long as I’d imagine”
I looked at him and smiled. He didn’t get to see it as he looked up into the sky, probably watching the bird. Decided to change my mind and place my head down onto his shoulder. “Slow and steady wins the race, no?”
“yeah…I'm gonna beat fantasy with science as my only weapon. So get excited.” I just hummed in acknowledgement, still smiling.
.
.
.
I know Senku isn’t the type of person to lie about things, so unless he changed or he doesn’t know, I know for a fact that he would tell the truth a hundred percent of the time. So when I looked at the both of them, happily content in their own bubble, I made my final conclusion.
Senku definitely likes (y/n). I just hope he lets me be his best man at their wedding like how I'm gonna have him be mine on my wedding day.
.
.
.
Taiju came up to us, eagerly awaiting to ask his question: “So who are we bringing back first?”
“We’ll we’re gonna bring back everyone sooner or later, so it doesn't matter much on who is first but-”
“But I think we know who's first” I finished his sentence. Zuri, My best friend. The guiding lamp in a world full of chaos(the Boys). I can’t wait to hug and talk to her again. But first I had to clean up.
It was my least favorite thing but someone has to do it, and it sure ain't the girl who just revived or the boys who’ll probably misplace things. So I offered to stay behind while those two go ahead.
“Are you sure (y/n) I know you're dying to see her again!” Taiju tried to convince me to come.
“No I can’t have Zuri come back and see this mess, but you have better things to worry about like your confession” I tried to turn Taiju around but failed.
“You sure about staying here Doll. You’ll be all alone, and besides Im sure Yuzuriha wouldn’t mind”
“I'm sure now go! The more time you two waste the more Zuri has to wait!” I turned Senku around which was much easier.
Thankfully they finally listened and started walking towards the tree that protected Zuri. I wished them one final good luck before they fully disappeared from my sight. Once I couldn’t see them, I headed back to the shack and cleaned up.
Moved the petrified birds on the shelves, moved the used pots to the side for washing, and sealed off the rest of the wine so no bugs could get inside. I whipped off the tables with a damp deer skin that became our towel.
Then I moved onto the outside. All I really needed to do was organize and move things around so it wouldn’t seem all scattered like. Once I moved inside the house to clean it up a bit, it has been about two hours since the boys went off.
Unfortunately for me, they’re two hours away from me and an important item that I had forgotten to send them off with….Zuri’s clothes
“Damn it” I cursed out loud.
Lets just hope they have the decency to just bring her back and then revive her, or just make her temporary clothes till they come back.
.
.
.
“Good luck! Come back safely!” I heard her yell.
“I don't know why (y/n) didn’t want to come with us. I mean she cares for Yuzuriha just as much as I do, right Senku” Taiju started questioning her actions.
I don't blame him, not even a single percent. It's easy to figure out a person’s next course of action or even their thoughts from their personality or past actions. But Doll has always thrown me for a loop. Whenever I think she’ll do something, she’ll end up doing the complete opposite. It makes me laugh, though it sometimes infuriates me.
“We can’t dictate what our Doll thinks or what she does so it's best if we don't dwell on it”
That thankfully shut him up for now. Lately he's been more talkative than usual. It all started with my remark in the cave, and ever since then he hasn’t been letting it go. He's been staring at (y/n) and I for the past month or two. It was so obvious that it's almost as if he's trying to prove a point.
I wasn’t wrong nor out of pocket, and besides I've made the worst remarks around (y/n) and she would always play into it. Though lately she’s been acting strangely. She's been running away more, wanting to be by herself, and a bit more protective in a way. If I knew any better her mood swings are due to puberty, but she's already passed that.
“Senku” Taiju spoke seriously. “Tell me the truth, do you or do you not like (y/n) that way”
“You still onto that” I scratch my ear, “I obviously like her if I didn’t I wouldn’t have put up with her”
“NO NOT LIKE THAT! I mean you guys act differently with each other compared to when you act with other people!”
Similarly like in the cave he once again went on and on about my relationship with (y/n).“AND WHAT THE HECK! HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT MOMENT EARLIER”
I was thinking back to earlier moments of today. I figured that he was talking about when (y/n) placed her head on my shoulder. It wasn’t anything that important. I knew she was tired, tired of all the experimenting and tired of surviving in a hardcore world. Heck I don't think she ever played minecraft without being in creative mode and building her house first before she actually starts playing.
“She was just tired you big oaf”
“Yeah I know but why did you let her rest on your shoulder, you don't like physical touch, and yet she's always the exception!” He started yelling which bothered all the birds around us. “Even when we were kids you’d let her rest on you.” He paused trying to make the next part dramatic.
“Till you confront your feelings about (y/n) I'm not going to back down! I'll make you realize them even if it takes a century!”
I just chucked in response. It’ll take him more than a century since I don't like her.
It didn’t take long until Taiju and I walked up to the tree where Yuzuriha was encased. The tree protected her body from erosion, and the unique looking headband that (y/n) gifted her also still was intact on her head.
“Alright, I'm ready. It's go time! Let's pour that miracle water! It's gonna turn her back right!” Taiju asked excitedly
“Yeah, I believe that it will. I tried it on a piece of broken stone and it turned into a hunk of dead flesh” I chuckled maniacally, remembering the face when (y/n) saw what I did. It looked like a mixture of horrified, scared, and grossed out. She took the bottle away from me and forbid that I would experiment on petrified people unless they’re whole.
“Try and have a little respect for the dead would you?!” Taiju scolded me.
“I did make the effort to put them back together at first, obviously but it seems that once someone has died reviving them is not an option, I value their sacrifice, and Doll has already prayed for them, perhaps you too should follow suit.”
He gasped, realized that I had a point, and then started praying for them so fast that I thought he was casting a spell. Once that was done he turned around and started pulling the branches away from her. I tried to pass him the miracle fluid since I figured that he would like to do that. But instead of taking the bottle he turned around and started yelling.
“Hold on Senku! She’s naked! Don't look at her” He was so fast that I didn't have enough time to dodge. He poked both of my eyes and went on something about how inappropriate it is to wake her up without clothes. I tried to give the same reasoning as I did with (y/n).
“I know it's tough but would it kill you to try to use some logic for once?! There's absolutely no one to care if your butts showing or even if your dick’s hanging out”
“Yuzuriha does not have a dick!” a point completely missed but reminded me of a similar answer that was given to me.
“I care about this you stupid genius!” she yelled at me from behind the treehouse’s doors, “I'm a modern person, so I don't want my butt, dick, or chest showing!”
(y/n)’s first day in the new world was rough. But she adapted quickly, it was a trait that I admired. Even back in the modern world.
“We need to take her back to camp and get some clothes on her first” Taiju lifted Yuzuriha on his shoulder as if she weighed nothing.
“Okay but how heavy is that statue anyway?” I genuinely asked. Camp wasn't that far but walking that distance with a statue could be too much for someone.
“You’d better not be calling her fat!”
“Way to completely miss the point again, what I mean is that it would be ten billion percent efficient if we woke her up and have her walk there with us. man I can’t deal with this illogical thinking” I muttered.
The sound of a growl coming from the forest made me turn around. “Hey wait, you big oaf!”
A lion appeared from the trees.
“Why is there a lion walking around japan!” Taiju yelled while running
The answer was obvious. It was a descendant from a zoo animal that escaped when there were no more humans to maintain them or to keep them in check. Because of that all the herbivores were likely on the menu. Not only that once it got out to the city it was a pet buffet.
“They are now literally the king of beasts, so we mustened forget that: humans are not the top of the food chain anymore” I wasn”t sure if he gotten the gist of that, but we had no time. We were coming onto a cliff with no choice but to jump. We survived thanks to the tree vines that took most of the fall but it still was still a pain in the ass. We didn’t have time to rest; however, since the lions were still chasing us.
“Why haven't they actually killed us” Taiju spoke with Yuzuriha still in his arms
I chuckled, “They probably have never seen bipods before. I bet we look creepy as hell to them, running on two legs”
“Yeah we are the only humans in the world”
“We definitely spooked them, but they’ll go in for the kill soon even if we get super lucky and make it back to camp, all we got to fight them are spears, Doll may stand a chance since she’s beaten a hundred men once in a fight before. But beasts are different from humans” I explained.
It was game over from the moment it first saw us. “Good luck! Come back safely!” Her voice echoed in my head. I'm sorry Doll but I don't think we will be able to come back safely.
Taiju stopped running and threw Yuzuriha’s statue at me and told me to run. He was willing to sacrifice himself and become lion food. Using some dumb logic that I was humanity’s last hope. It's was only partially true, but Taiju’s brawn is just as important. Humanity needs both of us in order to survive, and I can’t stand to think (y/n)’s tears over Taiju’s bead body.
“If humanity is gonna live on then the three both of us need to survive” I yelled at him. “If we’re gonna make a run for it then it's imperative that we do it together!”
“Yeah! I got it!” He looked back, grabbed Yuzuriha and we started running again. He may be an athlete and strong as an ox, but he's not a fighter. That fact has remained since we were kids, and still continues to be true as we grow.
“Hey if we can’t outrun them then there is something we can do instead” He started deviating from the path back to the camp. He led us to another tree where a bulky guy sat under.
“I found this guy earlier, we have called “the strongest primate highschooler” Shishio Tsukasa.” The title reminded me of something in the past.
He placed Yuzuriha’s body against the tree and started apologizing for not being able to revive at this time. It was taking too much time.
“Don't waste your breath, and let's just pour it on him” I took out the bottle that was originally for Yuzuriha and poured it on him.
The sound of a lion's growl cut through the suspense of the revival fluid’s function. The lions surrounded us, with no choice but to take out the axe I was carrying.
“This is it” I warned Taiju, but the sound of stone cracking took our attention away from the lions. Brown eyes peaked through the stone.
“Sorry! I know this isn't what you wanna wake up to after sleeping for a few thousand years” Taiju apologized.
“What's the situation?” He replied as if he had already adapted. Which is great since there was no time to explain it over tea. “Your whole body is covered in stone. There are lions from your nine o'clock to your two.”
“Yeah ok” He spoke with a tinge of familiarity. He quickly broke free from stone as the lions charged at us.
He used the remaining stone fragments that were on his body and launched them at the lions which knocked them back a bit. Then he used his fist to punch the male lion into the tree with such force that it surprised Taiju and I. In one punch the biggest lion was dead.
The defeat of the head lion made all the others retreat. It was also the fact that Tsukasa glared at them that made them run faster.
“You can fill me with all the details later but I owe you, so I make you this promise the two of you will not be in danger again. From now on I’ll take care of all the fighting.” He glanced back at us, which riled up Taiju.
“You hear that Senku, we had brains, brawn, and talent, but now we’ve also got brute force on the team! We’re just like the four musketeers!” Taiju cheered. But I thought differently.
“I got a feeling that our new guy may be a little bit too strong.”
“How could that be a bad thing like don't we need that kind of help.” He obviously missed the point again.
“What if it turns out that he’s actually some evil homicidal, sex-crazed, wannabe tyrant?” I explained further, “dude’s overpowered, he just killed a lion with his bare hands. We’ve only seen that happen once, remember?” I was hinting to when we first saw (y/n) brother. Daniel (l/n), he had a pretty face that attracted men and women alike. It was something that (y/n) was often jealous of.
When I first met the man he defeated over six hundred men that were twice his age. Because of that he was often revered as “The strongest man in existence.”
Then it hit me, “The Strongest Primate Highschooler” was a title he was meant to receive before he turned it down. I brought my attention back to explaining the circumstances to Taiju.
“Not only that, in a world where guns have not been invested he’s ten billion percent unstoppable”
I let my words carry into Taiju’s head. He’s probably thinking about Tukasa on a throne with women beside him and him telling Yuzuriha to come with him.
“Oh no way we can’t let that happen!”
“Hey guys do you have anything I could use to butcher this with? A knife or at least something sharp if that's all we got” We heard Tsukasa speak from where the lion laid.
“Are you thinking of eating that thing that's nasty!” If (y/n) were here then she would’ve explained that lion mean is not poisonous. But rather it's super tough, reeks of ammonia, and that it tastes bad. but alas I had to explain that.
“When the hell did you eat a lion?!”
“When I was in Africa doing research on Ebola, Doll was there”
“What kind of highschool kid are you?! And why was (y/n) there”
“Did you say (y/n)?” Tsukasa suddenly asked
“Yeah why”
“Nevermind, it might not be the same person” He evaded to the topic of the lion. “Although it was attacking us, I took this noble creatures’s life, so I want to give back to the circle of life by putting all of it to use…I owe it that much”
Taiju screamed once again, completely convinced with his speech. But for me it doesn’t move me one millimeter.
“Come on we’ll lead you back to our camp, its time to introduce to you our, Doll”
“Doll?” Tsukasa questioned
“It's a nickname for the girl he likes” Taiju butted it
“For the last time you big oaf I don't like her like that!”
“I told you before i'm not going to stop till you realize your feelings for her”
.
.
.
“What did I get myself into?” The long brown haired man thought while staring in disbelief of his saviors.

Surviving with Taiju has been very interesting to say the least. In a good way obviously. His loudness brings life to Senku and I’s workaholic lives. He also has been a great help for gathering materials and hunting. But there are some mishaps.
“WHY DID YOU HUNT THE BABY BOARS” I yelled at Taiju who had a very scared baby boar in his hand. It was about to spill tears.
“Well you said the animals that get caught in our traps are our food right?” He looked at me innocently.
“Yeah but the babies barely have any meat on them and we need them to sustain the boar population here!”
He put the boar down carefully. When it felt the grass it scurried away from us with a speed that didn’t quite match its body. I told Taiju in depth on how to hunt, and what things we were looking for. But then it came to gathering.
Taiju brought me a large basket filled with plants and herbs that he’d found in the forest. I started listing off the plants and if it's edible or not for future references.
“Amanita virosa: poisonous, Buna shimeji: edible, Amanita muscaria: poisonous.” I looked at the next one, surprised that he’d even think to collect this. “You can't tell this one's bad?” I lifted the mushroom up. “It looks like it came right out of Mario game”
I continued onto the next one. “Mugwort: edible, Monkshood… Are you trying to kill us sweet pea?!” I looked at him deadpan. Taiju might just accidentally kill us before whatever petrified us can. I grabbed the few edible mushrooms he had collected, cut up some adult boar meat, and seasoned them all. Then I punctured the meat and mushrooms with sticks, and then finally got them to cook over a fire.
“Oh, Man! What the heck did you season this with!” He munched real hard on his food like a starved bottomless pit.
“I seasoned it with-” my mind drew a blank. Senku made a bunch of it right before I arrived and made some more when I was away hunting not too long ago. So I didn’t know where it came from nor did I care to ask. It does however make food taste ten billion percent better than when it's just roasted over the fire.
“It's just some salt that I pulled out of the seawater, we can utilize it for pickling food as well. One of man’s primitive discoveries id say”
“Thank you Senku and (y/n) for the cooking. This is Perfect! I may not know all the stuff that you guys do but I’m gonna bust my back working for us” He got up with his basket and started running for the woods.
“He barely even finished eating…” I spoke softly.
“Let him be after all you know how he is” He turned to me. “ After all, doll, you and I have some things we need to do, so finish up.” he continued eating. I just let out a chuckle before finishing my meat skewer.
Once we finished eating, Senku led me to the shack where we had been conducting experiments on denitrification. Shelves filled with petrified sparrows filled the back part of the wall. Clay pots I made a while ago to replace the horrendous ones that Senku made before aligned the right side of the walls.
By instinct I headed towards the shelf at the back and swiftly grabbed the clay pot with the nitric acid in it. It was lighter than what I remember it to be. Confused, I swirled the pot to test how much was in it. There was less than 50 ml in the pot.
“Hey genius, I hope you don't need much nitric acid for your experiment cause there's barely any left”
“Well then that means we just have to get some more” He replied leaving the shack. I followed shortly after placing the pot back where it should go.
I hate walking to the miracle cave. It was long and boring with nothing to keep me entertained. Normally I wouldn’t make this trip but after last night I just wanted to spend some more time with Senku. But I was still bored so in a last ditch attempt to occupy my mind I started to hum a tune.
After some time I heard Senku say: “I haven't heard you sing in a while what's the occasion”
“I don't know! Just feel like it” He chuckled in response.
The silence of the forest quickly returned, minus my humming, before we reached the entrance of the miracle cave. We heard someone screaming. I knew the moment when he spoke Senku’s name that it was Taiju.
“It was us you idiot” Senku started to scratch his ear with his pinky. A habit that maintained even after petrification.
“Oh! NO WAY!” he continued screaming. “Are we the only ones left for real? Like the last humans still alive?” Senku and I moved ahead. Stopping where Taiju was standing and stared at the bottle filled with nitric acid.
“We’ll get more. That's the top priority” Senku said before switching tones.
“I mean, the three of us alone, just a couple of dudes and a girl. We can’t “restart humanity” unless one of us procreates with our doll here”
Taiju lifted me up away from our friend with such speed it seemed like I was a feather. He quickly covered my ears, fearing that I would hear what else Senku had left to say. But it was too late, I heard everything. The term “procreation” was enough to make me flush red, let alone the images that came afterward.
“How could you say that to a lady?! Do you have no respect for her?!” Taiju pointed his finger at him. In the meanwhile I was covering my face while also regretting coming here.
I grabbed Taiju’s basket backpack and came up with the excuse of getting more plants for later then left. I couldn't face Senku again, not until I composed myself. I ran and ran till I saw the river, and I collapsed right beside it. Splashed some water onto my face till the top of my clothes were practically soaked. Bad idea in the long run but it cooled my fiery body.
“Stupid Senku” my thoughts repeated that phrase till it was engraved into my soul. I wanted to cry. I never felt anything like this before. My heart was racing as if I had run a marathon. My body felt hot like I had a bedbound fever. My throat was dry as if I had eaten a pound of salt a moment before all this.
During times like these I would run into my baba’s arms and hug him tight. He would then give me a piece of advice or help me through what I was going through while also patting me into his lap. It made me feel better, enough to the point where I wanted to challenge what made me feel that way.
But I can’t run into his lap anymore. I can’t brush through his gold like hair while we gossip about classmates or coworkers. Not anymore, not in this new world. After all, he's still petrified… Senku was right love is troublesome
.
.
.
I looked at Senku who was switching out the bottle filled with the miracle fluid with an empty bottle.
“What the heck was that man?!” I yelled at him. “I know you two like to flirt in strange ways but come on! you even chased (y/n) away!”
“She’ll be fine, you big oaf she just needs to compose herself” He gave me a quick reply as usual.
“But if you leave her like this then she’ll get the wrong idea! And besides, why did you bring up procreation when you know damn well that I like Yuzuriha!” I yelled at him
“So unless you're talking about yourself this is weird. Though I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since everyone can tell you treat (y/n) differently, heck you still call her by that nickname since we were kids! it's totally obvious!” The last part convinced Senku to turn around and look at me.
“It's obvious that you like (y/n)” I finished
“What the heck are you talking about you idiot” He picked at his ear while also giving me the face that he would normally give me when I do or say something stupid.
“Is that not the case?!” I yelped in surprise. I was starting to rethink all the moments that lead to this moment.
I first started to suspect something when Senku was acting differently. It was during the summer before our third year of elementary school. (y/n) had come back from America but she was acting differently. She was afraid of everyone and started to hide behind me when meeting new people.
I later found out that an assasination attempt on her life happened. But unlike last time she almost truly died. I let her hide behind me for as long as she liked.
Senku on the other hand was quieter than usual. He talked to her softly compared to other people, it was almost unnoticeable if you didn’t know him as long as I did. His habits changed too. He'd get excited when someone mentions her name. He’d talk about her a lot even when she wasn’t previously mentioned, and had to be beside her almost all the time.
It started to show more in middle school when she switched over. He’d give her things, participate in whatever she wanted to do, and tease her. I soon realized that he was flirting with her, in his own strange way. It took me a while as it wasn’t vocal like the shows portray it being. That changed during our final year of middle school where they would sometimes make remarks that crossed to the flirting territory.
At first I was so upset that they were beginning to hang around each other more than we all do, But it was when I met Yuzuriha and realized my feelings for her did I realize something about my first best friend. He likes (y/n)! That day I made a promise: as his best friend I wasn’t gonna reveal it until both of them were comfortable..
.
.
.
I was still racking my brain as to where I went wrong, what did I miss? I was almost positive that Senku liked her. Heck I've been watching them for ages now to the point I'd say they're closer now than ever before!
Last night I caught them sleeping with each other. Not next to, WITH. They were cuddled so close as if this wasn’t their first time doing it, soI honestly thought their relationship grew while I was still petrified. I gave up thinking about it in the end as we were about to pour the whatever acid onto the bird that Senku placed on top of a tree stump.
As Senku poured the miracle fluid onto the bird we stared at it insanely, but it didn’t move an inch. Senku looked almost defeated. “I've been working like a madman on this project. Using every last method I could think of.”
“Over and over. Again and again.” He continued. “It's like something from a fantasy world. Is it all mineral? Are there living cells underneath? I dont have the laboratory for in-depth analysis”
I tried to wrap my head around what Senku was trying to say. “So basically what you're telling me is that there are things science can’t explain.” He chuckled instead of calling me a big oaf.
“There we go, that tired old cliche. Truth is, it never quite stands up to the scientific method. Science is often a slow process; some liquor might speed things up.” He was starting to talk to himself. But I was barely paying any attention to him due to the idea that was forming in my head.
“Combined with nitric acid. We could make something nice and potent. What's commonly known as nital which is an industrial-strength etching agent.”
“What did you say we needed?” I managed to speak before he continued further.
“Huh, I said we could make nital. It gets into the ferrite grain boundary and-” I interrupted him. “No! Don't confuse me with some kind of ‘science talk'. I mean the part about liquor” I tried to grab the grapes I found earlier but I realized where it was at.
“Gosh darn it! I forgot that (y/n) has my basket bag!”
“Hey you boys back yet” (y/n) peeped into the shack
“(y/n) there you are! I need something-” I looked closer at her. She was soaking wet
“Why are you soaking wet?!” I asked which brought out a yelp instead of an answer.
“Well I found a baby sparrow on the ground so I decided to bring it back to its nest. I just fell into the river when I misplaced my foot.” She tried to smile it off but Senku wasn’t buying it.
“Go dry yourself as much as you can and leave your wet clothes outside. I’ll go start the fire” He walked towards her and took the basket bag from her shoulders.
“Ok” She sighed and left the shack
“As you were saying” Senku beckoned for me to continue
“Oh!” I dug deeper into the basket. There were more grapes than what I remember collecting, (y/n) probably collected more when she was out. I took out two bundles of grapes and showed them to Senku.
“Wine comes from grapes, yeah? And that is a type of alcohol isn't it?”
He smiled at me. “Not bad, you big oaf.”
Senku made me pour all the grapes into a big pot and then made me clean my feet while he started a fire. He hanged (y/n)’s clothes to dry while I stomped on all the grapes.
(y/n) soon came out with two deer skins wrapped around her body and tied together with a rope like belt. It would’ve looked nice if it wasn’t so short.
“ISN’T THAT TOO SHORT MISSY” I scolded her for her poor choice of clothing. But I was careful to not slow down on my stomping.
“I'm not gonna wear this forever!” She blushed. “I just needed something to cover myself cause I wanted to see what you buys were doing”
She sat beside Senku who strictly stared at me or the fire. Maybe I was wrong in his feelings for her.
“Whatcha making” She asked him
“Wine” he answered
“Isn’t making wine without a licence you know…Illegal?”
“It was 3718 years ago” I caught him peeking at her before going back to the fire. “And besides, didn't you make alcohol with your dad when you were a kid” That remark apparently shut her up.
The next step led me to pour the grapes I crushed into a pot and stir it for a couple of days till it was ready to be sealed and ferment for some time. Well that's what (y/n) said. After three weeks we had to strain the liquid from the impurities as well as the skin from the grapes. Thanks to the handy dandy strainer (y/n) made earlier this step was easy. While in the middle of it I came to a realization: “I thought of something, underage drinking is a crime too isn’t it?”
Senku laughed before responding. “Not a problem! After all we’re all a little over 3700 years old”
“Oh yeah, That's right!”
Senku and I took a sip from the freshly strained wine. Strangely (y/n) didn’t want a sip despite being the only one out of the three of us who had a drink of wine back in the modern world.
Apparently in America as long as you have your parents consent, and you're on private property, you can drink underage and it’d be perfectly legal. (y/n) whos dad is a well known wine conosur had her fair share of wine in America.
The second I felt the taste of the win I spat it out.
“I thought that this would happen” said (y/n) in between my coughing fits.
“It's not bad, in fact it's better than what I expected for our first try. But I bet it's 10 billion times worse than the ones on the market, right, doll?”
“Im guessing so but im not tasting that crap” She plugged her nose when looking at the wine
“You gotta get rid of that privilege tongue of yours, you spoiled girl” He laughed
“Sure when you kiss me on the lips i’ll consider getting rid of it” she grinned at him
He looked at her, grinning from ear to ear, “Oh? Is that all it takes, that’s a dangerous game to play, doll”
She laughed in response. “Of course not genius~”
“So is this what you need to make that nitrate stuff Senku?” I jumped into the conversation. But I regretted it soon after as I realized that I could’ve gotten my closure from their bickering. Or was it flirting? I don't know anymore! Help! They’re confusing me!!!

It's been about five months, or for Senku’s case six, since we broke out of our stone prisons. It took even less for me to realize why housewives in the 1950s and 60s used to take drugs to alleviate the pain of domestic chores. Though I guess I can't fully count myself as a ‘housewife’ since I would also hunt and provide our meals. Then I would also help Senku with his experiments on stone birds or other stone fragments that I tried not to think about where they came from.
I didn’t mind though. I was given my own time to do my own things once I finished with my daily chores or tasks Senku asked me to do. I would usually spend it preparing for Zuri’s and Taiju’s arrival. Or I'd spend it gathering for things we may need and explore our surroundings.
When I found the beach nearby it soon became a second safe haven for me. The clashing waves provided a comfortable hymn and the reflecting light created an abstract masterpiece. In addition I would find pretty pearlescent shells washed up. I would craft them into necklaces, ones that Zuri would be proud of me.
“Having fun, doll?” Senku came up and surprised me
“Yeah…” I tried to get up from the rock I was sitting on before Senku stopped me.
“You don't need to get up” he spoke as he sat right beside me
We were like that for a while in a comfortable silence. The waves once again crashed against each other, but instead of reminding me of a masterpiece painting created by Leonardo Da Vinci himself, it instead reminded me of the night I declared myself his crazy doll. The very thought of the moment made my face flush red as the embarrassment took over.
I had made many similar ones in the past but they were all for my friend. Not for the guy I liked. I hugged my legs tighter than the night I first became petrified. Unable to see, I failed to notice a pair of eyes looking at me.
Before it got too dark we decided to head back, hand in hand. When we saw the familiar silhouette of the house, we split up to do our nightly routine. Him making a fire and me preparing dinner. Small conversations about our day, what we did, and what we needed to do the next happened right about this time.
“We need some more firewood” Senku started
“I can collect some tomorrow”
“I’ll come with you” I looked up at him confused since this is uncommon of him to help with something like this.
“Are you sure? I really don't mind collecting it by myself”
“Im ten billion percent sure, besides we need more for the winter”
That's when I remembered that we’re in october. Soon winter will start and it’ll be difficult to gather supplies we would normally need. I gave him a nod in agreement. Then we went to bed. With the colder nights Senku had offered to cuddle close to keep warm. I pray to whatever god exists that Senku doesn't notice the increased speed of my heart. Or how long I stared at the stone scars on his face. I really wanted to kiss them..
.
.
.
It was toastie that night
.
.
.
The next morning Senku and I went out early to get ahead. Since neither of us has the stamina to drag the huge logs back to the house, we decided to climb up the trees to collect the branches. We cut tree branches for I don’t know how long till the sound of heavy breathing made me turn in the direction of where it came from.
“Well look whos finally awake, good morning you big oaf” Senku spoke down to a familiar brown haired man
“Sweet pea your-” I yelled but got interrupted by Taiju jumping to give Senku a hug. “Senku! (y/n)! you're alive too!” He screamed
Senku yelled while pushing Taiju away,“Don't you dare hug me while you're buck naked! Hands off I'm not joking!”
I covered my eyes as I didn’t want to see Taiju’s nether region. I also had to cover my mouth as I didn’t want to be heard laughing.
“Doll help me!” I heard Senku yell at me
“Sorry I can't!” I couldn’t stop myself from laughing like a hyena, “If I do I’ll see Taiju’s crotch!”
“What the hell?!” It took a few minutes before the two boys calmed down. Well mostly Taiju who was relieved that we were still alive like he was. Senku and I started catching him up on what happened.
“Its october 5th in the year 5738 you really slept in for a hell of a long time” a chuckle escaped from his lips
“This genius and I have been diligently working our tails off for the last six months”
“Wait so it's been like…”
“It has been thirty-seven hundred years” Taiju gasped, “How do you know what day it is Senku?! You got some kind of calendar or what”
“This brainiac here has counted the seconds ever since we got petrified.” Remembering the feeling of when he first told me. I gave senku a deadpan face.
“It was obviously the logical thing to do” He smirked back at me. I tried not to let the heat in my face show.
“Come on we should head back and” I paused, Looking Taiju up and down, “and give you some proper clothes”
I led the way while the two boys were talking about how and why senku counted the seconds. The more they talked the more I felt disappointed in myself for watching movies and reading books the entire time.
“(y/n) what about you?” Taiju stirred the conversation to me. “What did you do while petrified?”
“Our doll here used her eidetic memory to replay movies and shows she watched and to reread books” he teased
“Sh-shut up! I know I didn’t use my time wisely ok” I faked cry
“It's fine (y/n)! I also didn't count the seconds of how long we were petrified” Taiju tried to cheer me up by patting my back
“Yeah but I bet you spent it thinking about Zuri” I flashed him a smirk
“Well yeah obviously” He beamed
“That guy is whipped” I whisper to senku
“Is it that much of a surprise?” senku gave him a half side eye
“Wait, now I'm dying to know what Zuri said! What did she say! Yes or YES?!” I corned Taiju
“What a way to rig options doll” Senku joked but I didn’t reply to it
“Well uhhhh I never did get her answer because we got petrified” he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck
“WHAT” I collapsed onto the ground sobbing. “Man I really want to be her maid of honor in your guyses wedding”
“Hey, you can still be her maid of honor! When we revive her I'll find the perfect opportunity to confess!” Taiju then turned to face Senku
“SENKU!!! WILL YOU BE MY BEST MAN IN MINE AND YUZURIHA’S WEDDING”
“What the hell you big oaf! You haven't gotten her answer to even date her yet” he looked mildly annoyed at Taiju’s proclamation.
“Attitudes like that give the confession bad luck!” I got up to senku’s face, “we gotta believe in them!” My face quickly got even heated when I realized how close my face was to his. In order to protect the shred of dignity I had left. I did the only thing I could: make a diversion
“Guys, it's just pass these trees!” I ran past Senku as quickly as possible. When I noticed that neither Taiju nor Senku was following, I turned back to ask why they weren't following me. But when I turned it looked like they were having their own conversion, with Senku’s hand covering his face.
“Guys are you coming!” getting their attention
“We’re coming” Taiju replied, running up with Senku following closely behind.
.
.
.
When we arrived I saw Taiju’s jaw literally hit the ground. It was funny seeing his expression.
“WOAH YOU GUYS BUILT THIS”
“Correction I built it”
“THAT'S STILL AMAZING”
Senku and I continued moving forward despite Taiju still awing at the tree house. “until now we’ve been lacking great manpower. In fact doll here has been breaking her back just to support us but it's all the bare minimum”
I was slightly offended by that comment. Actually no scratch that VERY offended. “You sound like my hard work is nothing!” I yelled at him, but he didn’t seem all that bothered.
“Well if we’re gonna rebuild civilization we’re gonna need more than the basic necessities that you scrounge up. We need a muscle-y meathead to do the grunt work like Taiju over here.” He turned to face Taiju from the top of the ladder.
“I was ten billion percent sure you were still alive just like (y/n) and I as you were so hell bent on confessing your love. For a guy as stubborn as you even a few thousands years won't stop from making that happen and I was right you aren’t that weak” he smirked
”yeah. of course I'm not!” Taiju’s tone changed. “All right Senku, (y/n) if you two can handle all the brainy stuff you can leave all the heavy lifting to me, No problem!” He declared. It reminded me of another declaration that happened here not too long ago. Just thinking about it made me smile.
”here you should wear this” I handed him some clothes I made a few months back
“Thanks so much!” He ran up the ladder and into the house. The slightly awkward silence that followed made my mouth move. “It’ll be nice to have another person around”
“Am I not enough for you doll that you need someone else to keep you company?” Senku tried to joke
“Well yeah most of the time we spend together is during meal time or when we’re experimenting and at this point the experiments are just another form of work. Nothing like what we did back in the world was like this, remember when we used to play video games together?” I laughed
“Yeah if I remember 129 to 131 on Mario Kart”
“Actually it's 130 to 131” I poked his face. “Remember the night before the petrification happened? I came over and we played a game before switching to COD”
“Of course now I remember. you begged me to play because you wanted to master the game but also because you didn’t want to play by yourself” He poked me right back. “You really need to stop your habit of clinging onto people or hiding behind them”
“If that's your way of getting rid of me you're gonna need something better than that” I flashed him a smile “besides I promised you I would be by your side forever and ever”
“Oh? When” He smirked. He totally knew what I was talking about. Which annoyed me even further since that smirk of his brought me back to the old times.
“Are you really gonna make me say it”
“Ohh I dont know~ I didn’t know you even said anything about being by my side”
I sighed. He should've known this, to the date even. “January 1st, 2014, we were watching the fireworks under a tree.” Around that time was when Bakuya was chosen to be an astronaut and was sent to go into astronaut training in America. I remember it like it was yesterday, albeit that was mostly due to my eidetic memory.
I remember the colorful fireworks that exploded as well as the sounds they made. But what I remember most was Senku’s soft smile. One that was not cocky, arrogant, or lofty. He looked completely different from the senku I know I guess thats when I made the promise: “Senku I promise to be by yourself forever and ever, to the point that we’re-”
“Conjoined” He finished
“So you do remember” I glared at him. But he just gave me a smile as a response. For the rest of the day all I could think about was that smile.
After Taiju got changed, he and  Senku quickly went to go chop some wood for dinner before the sun sets. While they did that I went hunting for some meat.
It was earlier into the night that Taiju chopped the wood that he and Senku got into logs. Senku started the fire and I started preparing dinner. I felt a weird sense of deja vu but I ignored it or else I would chop my hand off from not paying attention.
The air around us was tense. Mostly due to Senku who swore that he’ll find out what happened to us, and how he’ll bring back civilization from the ground up. He even said he’ll surpass it. If it were some rando I wouldn't believe them, but this is Senku that we’re talking about. I believe in him 10 billion percent.
Dear moon,
What if I want to be closer to Senku? More than conjoined or binded. He probably won't let me, he isn’t that type of guy.

Chapter 2: Morning Star

I heard the faint sound of rocks breaking. Soft light soon pierced through to my vision. I was finally free. I was breathing heavily. I looked around for an inkling of an idea of where and what time or day it was. But I got nothing, just a whole bunch of trees that were definitely not there when I was passed out. I looked up in the sky to see a familiar scene.
“Hey moon” I whispered to myself  “i'm back…Long time no see” I flashed it a smile.
The cold breeze of the night reminded me that I was in fact bare bones naked. My body flared up as I quickly tried to look for something to cover me up. My eyes spotted some vines growing from the trees, I quickly snatched it with so much vigor that I ended up tearing it apart. Next try I was careful not to rip it. I tied it around my waist to hide my crotch and around my chest. It could easily fall apart if I'm not careful but it's better than nothing.
The night sky tried to remind me that humans like myself should be asleep, but I couldn’t just go to bed now. This is a new world that I had to explore! From my vision I saw a cave, small trees, a huge cluster of trees from a distance that resembled a scene from Tarzan, and a huge tree that grew not too far. I decided to go to the huge tree since I don't know what's inside of the cave. Small trees were boring, and I knew that I would get lost exploring a cluster of trees. so I set my goal and started walking.
It didn’t take long for me to reach it. The air in my lungs quickly left as I saw who was encased in it…Zuri. I ran towards her, the tree wrapped itself around her which made it difficult to pry her free. But I guess it's for the best since the tree ended up protecting her for…uhhh I don't know how long….a century? No then our buildings would have left some inkling of its existence like dust or a few small pieces of stone or cement. It's probably closer to a thousand years, maybe even a couple of thousand will all the trees and the fact that this tree grew so much.
I sat right beside Zuri, and tried to fall asleep. When the breeze hit me I instinctively hugged my legs, man what I wouldn't give to have a blanket right about now. Minutes passed as I tried to fall asleep but the stillness of the forest annoyed me, so I started singing instead. For once in my life I finally saw the moon dancing right when I fell asleep.
The next morning I felt a presence in front of me. I looked up to see a familiar pair of ruby eyes. I flashed him a smile. “Long time no see Genius”
He looked shocked as if he couldn't believe that I was here. But quickly changed to his signature smirk.
“It as been a long time doll, in fact it's been 3,718 years as of now were in May now”
“It's been over three thousand years?!” I shot up
“Yup” he turned around and beconked for me to follow “follow me doll i’ll show you where i've been staying”
We followed a nearby river downstream before turning the corner. After a little bit I saw a small house on top of a tree.
“You built a treehouse, That's so cool!” I exclaimed
“I finished building it about a week ago, I've been busy trying to get the basic necessities that its been difficult to try to even attempt on reviving you guys”
“Well then I can handle all that stuff! I've been practically training all my life for a situation like this” I pointed my thumb at my chest, “I can hunt food and gather whatever supplies you need so you can focus on reviving Taiju and Zuri!”
He gave me a smirk “I'm glad we’re on the same page Doll, but first you should go make your own clothes in the house, it looks like your top is about to fall off” He pointed to the bottom part of the vines that were unraveling.
Heat flushed across my face as I hugged my chest and quickly ran up the ladder while screaming at him to not look. I tried to be nonchalant about my newfound feelings but that ultimately failed as Senku tried telling me that it doesn't matter if your butts are showing or if your dick is hanging out. Each word made me want to wallow in shame and embarrassment in the corner of the house. I might have to retract my statement earlier…
“I care about this you stupid genius!” I yelled at him behind the house’s doors, “I'm a modern person, so I don't want my butt, dick, or chest showing!”
“Then what does that make me then if I don't care, am I not a modern man” he jested. I could practically hear his smirk coming from the door
“I guess so if that's the case!” My eyes spotted animal skin on a table. It was definitely deerskin enough for me to use. I quickly conjured up some design ideas so I wouldn’t waste such precious material from trial and error.
“Come outside if your done”
I didn’t answer, too caught up on designing. I ended up making a sleeveless top along with a pair of shorts in which the waist was a bit longer than usual. I made it like that on purpose. I then made a simple jacket in case I get cold. With the extra material I attached it to some rope I found to make a sash that’ll act as a belt. When I walked out feeling a lot more covered I saw Senku on the ground probably tired from what he was trying to make.
“Whatcha makin Genius” I looked down on him
“A shovel”  I looked at the supplies he had out. A broken stone, another smaller stone, stone tablet, large stick, and rope.“Hmmm it doesn’t look like thats whats happening”
“That's cause it broke when I was trying to make it” He sat up
“Here let me try” I took the smaller stone and another stone about the same size as the broken one. I angled the bigger stone on the stone tablet and smashed it with the smaller rock.
A small piece of the larger rock popped off as I brushed it aside. I angled the rock again and hit it with the smaller stone once more. I repeated this action till I curved the stone into a U and sharpened the edges of it. I then chipped into the top part of the shovel so the rope has something more to hold onto with the stick.
“It's not the best or anything especially since its center is flat and not curved but it's better than our bare hands” I showed him my creation.
“Heh I knew you would be perfect for this situation” He gave me a smile. “Come on doll we have a big oaf to dig up”
“Ok im coming!”
Senku led me where he was first depetrified. It looked like a crime scene with all the rocks he had placed around it. But that was not where we were digging up. It was a little bit away from that. He stopped right in front of a hand that protruded from the ground.
“Is this Taiju?”
“I'm only guessing but from where I awakened this should be it” i started digging into the ground to reveal that it was in fact Taiju. Who looked like a zombie. Senku the crochet down and started poking at him.
“So tell me, meathead, what’ll it take to get you to wake up like we did?” He had a devilish grin on his face. Wow, so heartless I thought. Thank god he didn’t find my body and did the same thing to it.
“Don't give me that look”
“What look?”
“The one you were giving me just now, dont worry im not that heartless to do that to you” He quiet down and soon made a familiar face. One that I know he makes when he thinks about something serious. I left him to his own devices and started exploring the area myself.
Up ahead I saw the cave I saw last night. With it bright enough I decided to venture in. It was small yet dark with bats hanging up on the ceiling. Yellowly liquid dropped from the ceiling. I recall from an article on the internet that the decomposition of bat guano can make nitric acid. Now only that but the stench of it makes me remember all the chemistry I did with Senku. I went back to him to check if my hypothesis is right, as prolonged exposure to nitric acid can leave burns and respiratory issues.
I found Senku huddled over his crime scene with two stone faces pieced together from the stone fragments. “Isn't that one mine?” I asked pointing right one
“Yeah I found it a little up ahead from mine, where did you go off to doll?”
“I think I found nitric acid from the cave up ahead”
“What?”
I led him to where I found the acid dripping. He moved closer and stuck two figures out. “Wait wont that”
But it was too late the nitric acid fell onto his hand. I gasped in disbelief. This Genius here would always lecture me about being safe when exposed to chemicals but here he is just touching nitric acid willy nilly.
He then smirked and showed me what he had done. Apparently the back of his neck was still petrified. That's where he ripped a chunk of his petrified hair to test it out. But I didn’t care about the stone that broke, I care about the redness underneath.
“You got burned genius…” i muttered
“Yeah but we now know a key ingredient to breaking free of petrification” He smirked as he placed a bottle to catch the nitric acid.
As we waited for the bottle to fill we decided to head back. Senku gave me the succient version of how he does things. For the rest of the day I hunted for food, laid out traps, and collected some herbs or edible berries. Senku went off to do some experiments, though he probably went back to check on the bottle.
That evening I couldn’t help but think back to the burn mark on his hand. I know damn well that genius knows the repercussions of getting hurt in this new world. Yet here he is getting hurt, he even dared to come back with even more burn marks on his hand and arms.  Though I couldn't say anything as he came back sort of disappointed.
It was like this for a couple of days. Him getting burned more as he experiments with acid, and me staying silent as he gets hurt. I guess he noticed my disdain. He is usually good at picking up things about my mood.
“What's got you so down doll?” He asked one evening
I stayed silent, not daring to make a peep.
“Seriously, what's wrong?” He grabbed my shoulders and spun me around.I had no choice but to look him directly into his eyes with tears spilling from my own. He looked shocked.
“You don't have to hurt yourself like this you know” I grabbed his hand firmly. He tried to laugh it off but I know my grasps hurt with his burns. “I knew it” I muttered under my breath.
I led him to my baskets of medicinal herbs I collected when I was gathering and sat him down. Thankfully it was inside the house so we didn;t get rained on when the first drops started coming. I sat him down and started bandaging him up with the knowledge I procured when I received basic first aid training. He stared at me as I finished wrapping his arms.
We sat in silence. The type of silence that I would normally hum to get rid of, but I didn’t feel like humming. I knew once I opened my mouth that I was going to burst out crying, stupid emotions.
“(y/n)...” tears started streaming down. I grabbed his right hand, the one where he first got burned, once again and held it close to my face.
“You're not the only one who has to make sacrifices genius” the hot tears burned my own skin and eyes. “I'm right here you know, i'm not just a creepy doll like you say I am” a chuckle escaped my lips.
I looked at him. His ruby eyes not spilling any tears but there was an equivalent to that. His face scrunched up, one where he wants to show or rather say some sort of affection but also doesn't want to.
“Yeah I know…but I don't want you to hurt yourself I know you dont like pain especially since you have to deal with it twice as much” he manage to mutter
“I'd deal with the pain ten billion times as much if I could alleviate your own pain” I paused, not sure if I should include the next thing I wanted to say.
“I can see you have a lot on your shoulder, with surviving and all and probably something crazy as rebuilding civilization. My crazy genius, let me be your crazy doll and help you” I flashed him a smile as he pulled me closer for his version of a hug.
That night the air was lighter, though it may be because of the rain slowing down. We spent a good portion of the night talking about the old world and what we did when we were petrified. I figured that Senku would call me an idiot for spending my time rewatching or rereading all the books and movies I came across. I agreed with him but that's only because I could never count the seconds of when we were petrified. I’d get bored easily and maybe fall asleep. He chuckled when I said that which in turn made me laugh. It truly felt like a sleepover we had back in the modern world.
Dear moon,
Senku is still an idiot, but he is my idiot. Though I wished you could’ve help me get rid of these feelings for him. ‘Cause now I'm thinking sappy things that he'd ten billion percent hate coming from my mouth.

The quietness and tranquility of the forest has been disturbed by the sound of stone cracking. The fragments of stone fell off as the perpetrator of the disturbance started to move. Who is this you may ask? Well you're going to find out soon. All you need to know right now is that he is the first human to revive from stone in stone world Japan.
.
.
.
.
.
“Yeah! I'm finally free!” I imagined my block headed friend’s flashy entrance that I was ten billion percent sure of him doing.
I started to get up, careful of not altering the evidence. I grabbed a couple of rocks to mark the potion of my body and buried the stone fragments that I'll investigate later when I'm able to.
The sound of shuffling caught my attention to a tree branch where three monkeys hanged. Not even a moment later they all swinged away as if I was something dangerous or new.
“Am I the first human they’ve seen?” I muttered
I grabbed some vines from trees and wrapped them around my waist to cover my lower regions. Then I started assessing my surroundings. Unfortunately civilization didn’t survive, it's essentially a new world. In fact I may be the first shiny monkey to be born in it.
It's been 117,354,893,870 seconds now. Factoring the leap years and the fact that Earth’s rotation slows by 17 millionths of a second every year is some nasty mental math. Despite the Earth’s rotation hardly amounting to anything but its best to be as closely accurate.
I took a sharp stone and started to carve on a tree. Embedded was: April 1st, 5738 A.D.
April fools day, how funny. I can remember vividly about a certain someone who would always prank me on that day when we were kids.
“(y/n)...”
I turned and looked at the three monkeys that were behind me. I couldn’t help but smile. They looked down on me because I'm new but no, I have the knowledge of all human civilizations for the past 2 million years. I took a log and a stick and started turning it into the other. There I made three solemn promises. To rebuild civilization, reach space, and find out what happened 3,718 years ago.
Unfortunately I'm not a meathead like Taiju, nor an ultra-dexterous craft club kid like yuzuriha, or even an innate talentful like (y/n). There's no way I’ll be able to start a fire with a primitive hand drill, and especially not in Japan’s humidity.
I strayed away from the fire making to make something else useful. I started smashing the edges of the rocks against others to make it sharper. Like the technique native Indians used to make their spearheads and tools. I'm simply making a knife out of the hardest material around which was a colorful piece of chert.
It took a lot of trial and error which was no biggie. I've studied everything I could in the old world, and I'm willing to try everything. But no doubt about it that the girl’s presence would have made this ten billion times easier. She most likely had a hyperfixation on something close to this which could have made stone tools that were much better than mine within three trials.
heh…even without you right beside me you’re still occupying my mind.\
[stone tools acquired]
I unraveled a plant with the freshly made knife I made right before, and then started twisting it together. Soon it became a rope that I tied to either ends of a curved stick. Wrapped another stick, that's been cut to a sharp point, in the rope. Started moving it back and forth as fast as possible.
You see when cellulose from the wood is heated through friction and exposed to air, it rapidly oxidizes which gives us combustion!
[fire acquired]
I used the stone axe I made and chopped some trees to get wood for shelter. Chopping it was easy, moving it made me wish Taiju or (y/n) was here.
When that was finished I started chasing a deer for food. I failed however with an account that It was faster and had a lot more stamina than me. I wasn’t going to plague over it though. I fashioned a trap with more rope I made, the trees around me, sticks that I pegged down, and bait. An old fashion hunters trap but it worked, that night I ate deer on top of the fire I had such a hard time making.
Finally went and built a shelter and soon made some clothes with the deer skin I hunted. Along with a pair of shoes to protect my feet. In no time the three monkeys that were mocking me earlier were soon surprised by what I made. I laughed in response
“I just realized I never introduced myself It's a pleasure to meet you all” I saw the monkey’s eyes grow bigger and bigger from shock
“I'm the only one of my kind still walking this world, I'm a human being, also known as Senku Ishigami.” despite them most likely not understanding what I was saying I still explained my goal to them: to build a technical civilization from scratch. And this is where it all starts.

As we grew up I never dropped my old habit of talking to the moon. It was my first friend and I'm not the type of person to drop a friend for another person. It was only when I got caught talking to it and rumors spread that was when I temporarily halted my nightly activities.
Being upset was an understatement. With no one left to rant to, I went to the closest person I know, Senku.
“Hypothetically If I were to be caught talking to someone I shouldn't, how would I go about it so I could talk to them again?” I asked one night. I was on top of his bed reading ‘Romeo and Juliet’ while he was looking at something on his computer.
“If this is about the moon or the retainers again, doll, I don't wanna hear it”
“No!” I lied “its for something else you stupid genius” I sat up and pouted
He tilted his heat to face me “Then I suggest you should meet them again and discuss another way of communication”
“Huh…”
That night when I got home I was thinking about other ways to talk to my friend. I heard a faint voice coming from my brother, Daniel’s tv. I peeked into his room to find him watching a music video that was from Lillian Weinberg. I recall Lilian being Daniel’s friend. How they became friends I don't know, what else that I don't know is how Daniel even managed to talk or befriend her.
I had an epiphany right there. People only judge me for talking to the moon because it looked like I was talking to myself. It is often believed that talking to yourself means you're crazy, but if I sing instead it's a lot more normalized.
I started to sing when I was alone or humming when I was with someone. Turns out singing to the moon was such a great solution that I solved another problem I had. It solved the problem of silence that I hated. That problem was so bad that I couldn't sleep without some noise at night. So everytime that it was quiet I started to hum to myself, even in Senku’s room. He never said anything about me singing or humming so I continued on. It soon became our norm. But I've always wondered what he really thought of it.
When Taiju and Senku finally entered middle school I begged my baba to let me join. He was still on the fence despite me showing improvement after the incident. It was only when Al came and talked with him did baba finally applied for me to join their school.
It was there when our friend group grew from three to four with Yuzuriha. She wasn’t part of the science club that Senku joined nor the student council that I was a part of. We met her when Taiju introduced her with four small dolls that resembled all four of us. Taiju exclaimed that it was for Senku’s rocket.
We climbed up on a hill that was away from the school and pedestrians. Senku was obviously struggling with carrying his bag so I offered to take it off of him, but to my surprise he told me no. The reply was quick and stirn that I was taken aback at first but quickly shut up. I realized quickly when spending time with him that Senku and Bakuya are both eccentric to a fault. I heard Taiju’s cheeky grin and Yuzuriha giggle so I quickly turned around and side eyed them.
The four of us quickly started setting up. Taiju and Yuzuriha setting up the rocket’s stand, Senku setting the controls, and me putting the small dolls in the rocket. We counted down and right on three Senku pushed the big red button that set the rocket flying.
The tree of us watched as the rocket flew up in the sky. All of the years of hard work lead to this moment. While we were doing that, Senku was monitoring it through his computer. When it exploded I could feel my heart shatter. We faced Senku, waiting for an answer.
“It exploited at high altitude” He muttered
“We failed again” Taiju grabbed his hair as Yuzuriha was awkwardly staring at him.
“Heh, no, not entirely” Senku spun his computer to face us. It showed video footage from what I assume was a satellite in space. There on the screen were the four dolls Yuzuriha made floating around. Happiness and relief coursed through my veins that I hugged Senku with such force that I made him lose his balance and fall.
“h-Hey!”
“We did it! I thought we failed…” my voice muttered through tears. For a moment I thought Senku would push me off of him but he just patted my back.
“Haha! We did it!” Taiju pulled us up and gave us a big hug.
“Hey! Stop! you're crushing me!” Senku tried to free himself from taiju’s grasp.
Yuzuriha and I shared a big laugh. As I wiped my hot tears away. It's a shame that I'm a major empath to a fault.
°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°❀⋆.ೃ࿔《✽✽✽⋆⁎⋆☽♡☾⋆⁎⋆✽✽✽》°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°❀⋆.ೃ࿔
The furious stopping of shoes dividated my attention from reminiscing about the past, though it didn't bother the ruby eyed man next to me. The door slammed open to reveal a familiar face.
“Listen up, Senku! (y/n)” Taiju yelled
“I've made up my mind, I'm going to confess the feelings I've had for Yuzuriha for the past five years!”
Senku finally stopped from what he was doing to answer Taiju
“Wow fascinating” he looked up “I can’t leave the lab right now but I promise to cheer you on so vociferously that my vocal cords will snap”
Wow I thought. Not one millimeter of interest. Poor Taiju. “I'll cheer for you too man, I can't wait to hear the good news”
“Awesome! you guys really mean it!” He beamed which made me feel more guilty for him. I guess I’ll cheer for him more to cover for Senku’s portion.
“No you big oaf I wont project my voice even one millimeter for your cause”
“What?! Come on man”
“Don't worry Taiju I’ll cheer for the both of us” I patted him on the back
“Thanks (y/n) you're the best!” He gave me a hug that zapped the air outta my lungs
“Hey put her down! You're suffocating her!” Senku grumbled before reaching underneath his desk that we’ve been using for his most recent experiment
“Look, you've felt this way for five years but never said anything I can't praise such illogical behavior”
“You find every normal human behavior illogical Senku” I retorted
“Yeah yeah yeah anyways I can give you something logical as hell” He pulled out a flash with a clear liquid inside. I reconciled what was in it and gave Senku a look of confusion. In turn he gave me his signature smirk that he uses whenever he's up to something.
“I've developed this drug as a kind of ‘love potion’ it maxes out your pheromone levels granting you a 10 billion percent chance of winning her heart”
Bullcrap I thought. But let the show continue. Taiju looked at the flask pensively. For a second I thought that he was going to actually use it. But in the end he poured it out into the sink. “Thanks but no thanks Senku I gotta do this my way!” He left the room with a newfound resolution.
“Did you do that on purpose so that he wouldn’t freak out mid confession like he has done before” I whispered into Senku’s ear
“Wouldn’t you like to know, Doll”
“Stop calling me that!” I punched his arm slightly.
“Now why should I?” he smirked
The four of us: Senku, Taiju,Yuzuriha, and I have reached highschool. Our days of playing around with small scientific experiments are behind us and now. Senku and I are focusing on other experiments that are a lot more complex from what we used to do as kids. Though it’ll never beat the rocket we launched in middle school. But all of our medium experiments have one thing in common, and that's for the big rocket Senku is going to use to fly to space. Besides that there are other things that remain the same, for one, our nicknames.
Senku still calls me ‘creepy doll’ or doll for short. Still calls Taiju a big olaf, and yuzuriha her name. I call Senku a multitude of names ‘lettuce head’ and ‘genius’ are among them. I call Taiju ‘sweet pea' because he just is, and I call yuzuriha, Zuri!
I personally hate it when Senku calls me ‘doll’. It feels strange to hear him say that but I'll never admit that to him. He’ll never let that go.
“woah! Are you serious, you made a love potion!” One of the other clubs members asked
“I think we all know who its for” Another jested
“Shhh shut up dude” a third tried to shut his friend up
“What?” I questioned the two club members
“Come on, use your brain” Senku interrupted the threw a lit up match. “Its gasoline, (y/n) and I simply refined it from plastic bottle caps, consider the molecular structure of polyethylene.
“It's basically just like a long gasoline molecule minus a few hydrocarbons” I added
“And that's 10 billion points for (y/n)”
“Yeah but if Taiju really drank that wouldn't it have killed him” A club member asked
“No Taiju isn’t like that, he doesn't like to cheat when it comes to things like this” I started to reassemble the mechanism that had fallen earlier
“Besides the odds of him drinking were 10 billion to one, he's dumb but too straitlaced” Senku added. “Do you want anything from the vending machine doll?”
“Just water.” Lately Ive been gaining weight which isn't something to be concerned about except now I can see it actually affecting my body. I gotta cut the soda for now. All I heard was a simple hum of affirmation then he left the room.
(a/n) what's yall’s favorite drink? I have a specific order, water and mango juice are equals and then Mountain Dew
“Sooo~ (y/n) you and Senku?”
“What about us?” I looked up at them
“He never treats us like that! Are you sure that you don't have anything between you guys!”
“Well if you actually properly assist him then i'm sure he’ll treat you the same way” I pointed the screwdriver that was in my hand at him. The door opened to see Senku carrying two drinks, a water bottle and a can that was most likely his. “That was fast” I said
“What's going on?” He looked at the crowd that was around me and the machine
“They’re just asking about our machine” I lied
“Guys Taiju is there!” a club member yelled, which soon made everyone crowd the windows.
“A hundred yen says he gets rejected.”
“Three hundred yen says he gets rejected hard.”
“Five hundred yen says he gets rejected at full power”
“Ten thousand yen says he actually doesn't” Senku interrupted cracking his can
“Seriously?” They asked
“I'll do you one better I’ll triple that” I took a sip from my water
“No fair! you have the money to gam-huh” senku paused which was uncharacteristic of him
“Huh What what's wrong-” I turned to see a glow of green light from the sky “what the-”
“Quickly-” His voice got cut off and so did my sight. I was trapped, in my own body nonetheless.
It was a quiet prison, which were the two things I hated. So instead I used my memories to rewatch shows I watched before and re-read books that I read…yeah I didn’t spend my time in solitude wisely.
I wish I knew that this was going to happen. I would've called up Daniel and told him that I love him for one last time instead of leaving him with a negative memory of an argument. At some point I trailed away from the shows, books, and regrets into my personal memories.
First thought of Zuri. She was a breath of fresh air compared to the rowdy boys we were friends with. I wondered if she accepted Taiju’s confession. She most likely did as she too likes him back. She and I would spend time in the kitchen, our school's home ec class, her house, or the crafts club. I would teach her about all the cute and creative things to cook up and she would teach me about arts and crafts.
Though it was me spewing random facts and about the history or creations that she was trying to have me do. Our friend group would usually have lunch together on top of the roof of our school. If Zuri and I had cooked earlier, we would have made boys some bento boxes. Zuri made Taiju’s and I made Senku’s. Everytime Taiju received one he would scream that he would savor every last bit of food before eating. It was a cute declaration but so obvious towards his feelings for her that it made me question why she didn’t know earlier.
I soon thought of the ramen that senku’s dad treated me to. I recall Byakuya and the moments where he was acting silly. All in all he was a nice man who treated me like his daughter. Up until he shot up to space he often joked that I was his daughter-in-law, but Senku would shut him up every time.
I’d laugh it off every time. But there was an odd feeling that hung over me, a feeling that I couldn’t quite understand. I considered myself to be emotionally intelligent so not knowing what it had truly angered me.
.
.
.
Oh dear…
I like Senku!
When? how? What? For how long? Did other people notice? Or am I just stupid?
Great (y/n) what a way to finger out your feelings. If I could cry I would have right about now
Dear moon,
I know you can’t hear me but please tell me. How do I get over this? Because I know, Senku would never return my feelings. I don't wanna lose our friendship over some stupid emotion.

Ever since I could learn. I had to be perfect. Coming from a family with generational wealth and prestige, all eyes were set on me and my brother. Few were filled with love and respect, others filled with disdain and jealousy, but most were filled with hatred and disgust. These looks came from the company retainers. They did not once like me. Which is why they pushed me to the brink of exhaustion.
I never received a normal education, courtesy of the retainers. Instead I was given tutors, but they never lasted long. I had an innate learning ability that was faster than my peers and even the adults. Everytime they praised me to the retainers they were fired soon after. The more tutors they fired the more wary they became. They hired more people to teach me about things that are completely useless in the modern world, funny enough that I still excelled at those activities. Which is probably why the next course of action they took was to assassinate me, though it was more like a kidnapping attempt.
After that incident I couldn't function normally. I was scared out of my mind of people I didn’t know, to the point that I would talk to people behind my baba or brother. The retainers tried to use that as leverage against my baba. He didn’t bid them. He knew the truth, just couldn’t find the evidence to prove that. In the end he hired a bodyguard for both my brother and I. Despite my brother being an up and coming and world renowned martial artist as well as boxer.
My bodyguard is 6’3” or 191cm tall man that I was afraid of. He looked frightening with a glare that could kill someone. Yet it always softens when facing my baba. I can’t blame him nor judge him. My father has an immense beauty that rivals or maybe even surpasses the top model. It took me a while to get used to his presence as he is usually stoic, but in the end he became one of my most favorite people as he would read books he would read to me. I nicknamed him ‘Al’ as I could never pronounce his name correctly.
In conclusion I have an abnormal life. Due to the incident my baba stopped the stream of tutors coming, and gave me professors to teach me the basics so I wouldn’t fall behind. It left me further enclosed into the cage I call my reality. With no friends or people I could safely talk to with no sort of biases or having the responsibility of reporting to the retainers or my baba.  I resorted to befriending the only thing that was available. The moon.
Pathetic right?
My only friend is a large spherical rock in space that's 384,400 km (238 855 miles) away. It's not like I wanted my friend to be an inanimate object that's far away. Yet here I am talking to the moon like a weirdo. I would tell the moon numerous things from what I learned to the minute things like what I ate or saw. The cold light provided a warm solace for my affectionate starved self.
But it wasn’t enough. After one nasty encounter with one of the younger retainers I ran away. Well Technically I didn't run. I had Al drive me out to someplace without a lot of people. A place to myself where I could wind down and won't be judged. He led me to a path where elderly people or regular people would take a walk and relax. It looked kinda boring but I didn’t want to go back so I gave walking down the path a shot.
I was walking down the road with Al in tow who was keeping an eye on me. No one recognizes me, they probably thought that Al was my dad and that we’re bonding. It didn’t matter what they thought as I had enough of that. I was taking in the peace and quiet that I usually hated until I saw something peculiar.
It was a boy with lettuce-like hair down on the grass and behind a screen. He was watching a pan heat up on top of two cinder blocks and a furious fire in the middle. A strange sight to see on a presumably normal day, even the elderly folk were staring in bewilderment at him.
It was such a strange sight that I watched him do his experiments the next day and the day after that and the day after that. It was really entertaining. I wanted to go up to him and talk about what he was doing, but I chickened out in the end. Though I guess he caught on to someone staring. Once in a while he would look around as if he was looking for something despite having his friend right beside him.
One day three older looking guys came and beat down the machine the boy brought out earlier. Fortunately the boy and his friend came just in time to witness it, but unfortunately the older boys beat them up despite the brown haired boy blocking their fists. The very scene infuriated me. I had a strong sense of justice, courtesy of my baba and the classical books Al would read to me.
When the brown haired boy finally collapsed, I finally appeared out of my hiding place.
“Oh you with them” one of the older boys asked
“No” I answered truthfully
“Then mind your own business”
“Not till you apologize to them”
“Thought you said that you werent with them” I punched him where the sun didn't shine. He deserved it from the way he was confidently smirking at me. He needed to be taught a lesson. In all honey though I didn't aim there on purpose, I was aiming for his belly. But they’re taller than me, and I'm still not used to hand to hand combat despite fighting training with my brother.
I manage to bring him down before one of the other boys grabbed me by my written and started yelling: “WHAT THE HELL I'LL BEAT YOU FOR THIS KID”
But he was quickly shut up by Al who grabbed him and punched him square in the face which knocked the boy out. The third quickly surrendered with his two friends in tow. I left a first aid kit by the lettuce haired boy for him and his friend.
The next day I came by but the lettuce boy wasn't there nor was his friend. I came by the next day, he wasn't there either. Then I came again, same thing. By the fourth day I was starting to give up on seeing him. I Thought they moved since they were not welcomed there. But thankfully I was wrong, one of the few things I was happy to not be right.
The boy came back with a strange thing that looked oddly like a sniper gun. He aimed it at the three older guys from the other day and shot at them. Electricity came out and shocked the three boys. Thankfully they didn't look injured but it was so funny that I couldn't help but laugh. In the end he got his revenge. But unfortunately for me he heard me laugh and looked straight at me. I speed walked for the rest of the time I was there. Gave myself a mental note to not come there for a few days. Went back to the company to find my baba asking why I came earlier than usual. I lied through my teeth which I felt terrible about. Surprisingly Al didn’t report what happened which I was grateful for.
That night I told the moon about what happened earlier just like I had been.  Told it about how the lettuce boy was so dedicated to his craft and that I was sorta jealous of him. The moon is the only thing that is able to bring out the truth in me.
The next day when I went out on my now daily walk I decided to go to a park that was somewhat near the place I would normally see the duo. I only went to this park that's further away from the company because I didn't want to get interrogated by my baba again for coming earlier than usual. Honestly he should be grateful that I'm actually outside instead of inside like I usually am!
I found the swings and sat on them. When I got tired of just swinging around I asked Al to read me a book. The next book that he was going to read to me was 'Pride and Predigest.’ He told me to find a spot while he gets the book and a blanket to sit on. I found a nice shaded spot under a tree that had a nice view of the park. It was then I saw two familiar boys coming towards me. I mentally cursed myself as I didn’t have anyone to hide behind.
“Hey aren't you the girl who has been spying on us for the past week?” A voice spoke as if he was annoyed
“Pardon?” my voice squeezed from nervousness
“Wait, that's her! She's the one that punched that guy square in the nuts Senku! And the one to give us the first aid kit” He pointed at me which was kinda rude on his part
“Wait, you were watching?”
“So it is you” The lettuce hair boy who I now know as Senku interrupted
“Did I make you feel awkward?” I sheepishly asked, “I'm sorry If I did, I was just curious and well…” my voice trailed off
“No I would just prefer if you’d actually come up and introduced yourself instead of staring from a distance like a creepy doll”
Well then I guess I should introduce myself im (l/n) (y/n) ” I reached my hand forward
“Ishigami Senku” he shook my hand
“And I'm Oki Taiju!”
That day I spent playing with Senku and Taiju with science experiments that Senku brought out. I had completely forgotten about Al and that he was supposed to read to me. The day ended with me spotting my baba’s car and him talking to Al. It was more like fighting but it was one sided with my baba. Al was toying with him. I had to bid my new friends goodbye but promised them I would come back again tomorrow. That night my baba was crying about how I finally made my first friends. My brother was teasing me about how my first friends were boys and asked if one of them was actually my boyfriend. I rightfully shut him up by asking him about the girls he befriended. Baba cried at that too with incoherent sobs about: “his babies are growing up too fast”
I met senku's father about a month after befriending him and taiju. Senku Taiju, and I were in the library educating ourselves with books or the internet in order to help Senku build a swimsuit for his dad. When Bakuya came to check up on Senku I immediately  recognised him to be one of the many tutors that was hired and fired. I almost didn’t believe that I was looking at the same man. He was an eccentric person that I quickly realized when I was learning under him, it was just the fact that he was so overly affectionate with Senku that I thought knew he rivaled my own father.
He recognized me quickly. He was surprised that I could be such a different kid outside of the classroom. He muttered something about it being a small world. He invited me over to his and Senku’s house. I had to beg Al to let me go but he vehemently told me no. In the end I was able to convince him with the help of Bakuya and Taiju, Senku only added his input here and there.
The first visit turned into two, then into three, and soon the ishigami household became my second home. I would visit there more than when I visit the company. In a strange way I became closer with Senku than Taiju. I would aid him in his experiments and offer help when he was stuck on something.
One day we were testing out the electric waves on Taiju’s body. Senku made Taiju’s arm and fingers move around weirdly which made Taiju shocked. The very scene made me laugh my lungs out.
After we were done, much to Senku’s dismay, Taiju then started talking about what we wanted to do in the future. He asked me what I wanted to do since I wasn’t set to inherit the company as I wasn’t the oldest. I replied with only one thing in mind: “I want to go to and meet the moon maybe even talk to it”
“So you basically are a creepy doll” Senku joked
“No I'm not!” I yelled at Senku
“Wait hold on! can't you just meet the moon from here?” Taiju asked
“No you big oaf she means she wants to go to the moon”
“Woah! You both basically want to go to space! It's like you guys are meant to be!” He beamed
“Hmmm like soulmates?” My thoughts protruded
“Ew” senku replied fast
“Oh you don't believe soulmates? Not even platonic ones?” I poked at him
“No soulmates are an ideology that humans like to believe. It's not scientific nor provable. Its irrational and a source of trouble”
“Yet living creatures need to procreate in order to have its species continue on, are you saying that humans should procreate with everyone they meet instead of finding that someone to spend your time with and create a family?”
“...yes” he hesitated
“Ewwwww” My face scrunched up, but inside I was laughing my lungs out. It has been a while since I last had so much fun like this. Science is fun just like Senku told me before.
Dear Moon,
Are you happy that this friend of yours finally found her place? Are you proud of me? I’m not. It feels like I'm replacing you with him.
