JUJUTSU KAISEN S2 Reviews
#1: Hidden Inventory (8/10)
SB/Enshutsu: Shota Goshozono Assistant Enshutsu: Ryota Aikei, Jun Nakagawa Opening SB/Enshutsu: Yuuki Kamiya
Tumblr media
This is fun. Already fond of the cast and the story promises to shape up to something quite interesting with the girl (I’m sure the dilemma of whether it’s worth sacrificing her will come up) and the dynamic between Geto and Gojo. It’s also interesting to see how different Gojo is to the Gojo we knew so far, there will definitely be a lot of grave events which changed him, which makes the more fun and carefree atmosphere we have right now the more intriguing.
The aesthetic is also massively improved, I’m a huge fan that under Gosso there is much lighter compositing, making this show much more vibrant and aesthetically pleasing than other shows MAPPA produced recently. And a lot of fun animation, there is constant movement and an absurd amount of freedom in how to draw the characters and move them (One thing which was particularly funny to me is how Gojo changed from chibi to normal proportions within a cut to display his shift in attitude). I also like Gosso's direction, he pulls the fun but also atmospheric segments off pretty well. The little horror segment this episode was pretty tense, he also utilized the camera very well here. The OP is also probably my fav so far, I love it. Huge fan of having very lively slice-of-life portions but also the bombastic action sequence where they fall down a skyscraper - That’s the kind of absurd action I look for in an anime.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To name some negative stuff though, there are some noticeable limitations, such as the animation being jittery with more ambitious rotation shots. They already struggled with pulling that off cleanly in CSM. A bit uncanny. The 3D environments also are plainly modeled (ground/walls are often just planes with texture) and the flatness compared to the 2D animation stands out. Due to high usage of 3D backgrounds and the comp not trying to hide it, it’s noticeable.

Ousama Ranking: Treasure Chest of Courage Reviews
#3: Hiling's Old Friend | Daida and Magic (6/10)
Tumblr media
Nice stories again. I guess in that setting the spell of Hiling is pretty convincing, even if it now sounds kinda silly. This anime is kinda the show I’m not that motivated to watch but once I watch it it’s a pretty decent time. I liked the second story more though, because the relationship between Daida and Bocchi is cute. It’s interesting how Daida was only able to bring up the needed compassion for Bocchi. It shows how kind Hiling is for being able to use her healing even for a bird which just fell from the sky. First story: 6/10 Second story: 6.5/10

One Piece Skypea Reviews
#175: 0% Survival Rate! Chopper vs. Ohm, the Sword Wielding Priest! (6.5/10)
Tumblr media
Ohh, so Luffy has been inside the snake all this time. This episode overall was weirdly directed, some transitions were odd. But the south bird and the snake were funny as always. It seems the fruit Eneru ate is the Rumble-Rumble fruit, and it’s a Logia-type. Seems like we’re slowly getting into categories being introduced for the fruits, which makes sense given how many there are.
#176: Climb Giant Jack! Deadly Combat in the Upper Ruins! (6.5/10)
Tumblr media
Pacing is getting a bit too slow for my taste again but the snake is funny. And oh god, Conis and her father are stupid. Making noise doesn’t scare off your enemies, it tells them where you are, it’s an invitation. They are a bit too carefree for their own good.
#177: The Ordeal of Iron! White Barbed Death Match! (6/10)
Tumblr media
Not sure if Nami can be angry at Luffy when her punch alone brought the snake more pain than all of Luffy’s breakout attempts combined. The poor snake lol. We also have once again the characters appearing seemingly stupid with Laki attacking Eneru, even though she knows it doesn’t work and Wyper repeatedly telling her not to do it.
One Piece #178: Bursting Slash! Zoro vs Ohm! (6/10)
Tumblr media
So Zorro just pulled out a completely new move to defeat Ohm, okay. Well, that settles that matter. So Eneru wants to kill the population of Skypiea while surviving on a flying ship, I guess he just wants to get rid of the baggage since he already got the gold he was looking for. Conis father "died" (there is a good chance he didn't actually die), but I didn’t care that much, the black and white visuals are always cool though. And I didn’t mention it before but I like the dog. Some really good drawings of him in this episode too.

Kizuna no Allele Reviews
#8: Teatime of Anguish (7/10)
Tumblr media
Again a bunch of relatable stuff, not wanting to be left behind, difficulties to express ideas, feeling like no one sees the real you. This series kinda works for me. Now we also know that Marumaru is the tea girl and we got much-needed insight. The end credits were cute too, Chris drawing Miracle and Noelle stealing her lesson lol. I also need to apply Marumaru’s tips for drawing, ngl.
#9: Unpredictable Ultimate (6/10)
Tumblr media
Very limited animation this episode, which also made the race less exciting because there was not really a sense of speed. It still was pretty entertaining though, even with the series interjecting a random info-dump on fake news. Riz is now the fourth addition to Miracle’s fanclub. The end credit scene was also really good, maybe even my favorite one so far. Chris, you little gremlin, I love you.

#10: What It Means to Be Me (4.5/10)
Tumblr media
I’m very lax with the writing in this show but this episode was badly written. It was way too intensely and seriously played for no reason, and it took Miracle 20 minutes to figure out what Riz told her at the beginning of the episode. Miracle might be a bit of an airhead but she’s not that dumb. To name one cute thing in this episode though, I liked Chris in the ant costume. I’m still waiting for the day when Chris and Miracle meet in real life.
#11: True Color (4.5/10)
Tumblr media
Script is still not good and NFT promotions once again. I can overlook it when it’s only an end credit scene but now they’re putting it front and center again in an episode and I don’t like it. Despite these issues this episode was kinda coherent though, at least. And there were some fun visuals in a show which otherwise looks just okay. The octopus of the takoyaki in Miracle's mouth is my favorite. Without NFT this would be 5.5/10, but because of how tasteless it is I have to pull it down.

Dororo Reviews
#1: The Son of Daigo (6.5/10)
Tumblr media
Interesting. I’m usually not really a fan of historical stuff (just not my cup of tea) but it seems it doesn’t lean too much into the historical aspect as it also has supernatural beings like demons. Story so far seems to be straightforward, Daigo made a deal with the demons and his son paid the price. The son survived, but interesting now is how the demon statues got destroyed and the deal apparently got reversed. So his son got his skin back (his eyes still look artificial, though?). A bit odd how selective the reversal seems to be, we will see in the 2nd episode how it will continue. Feels like it’s not really established yet what this story will be.

Fate/Strange Fake - Whispers of Dawn Review
Rating: 10/10
SB/Directors: Shun Enokido, Takahito Sakazume Character Design: Yuukei Yamada Director of Photography: Youhei Miyawaki Color Design: Takahiro Mogi, Nanako Okazaki, Hitoki Takeda Music: Hiroyuki Sawano
Tumblr media
After I finished this yesterday, I just wanted to go out and scream into the void how hype this was. Now I’ve calmed down a bit and I think I can note my thoughts down on this. Fate/Strange Fake was just perfect for me and encapsulates why I came to love anime as a medium. Everything worked so well here for me. The aesthetic, the characters, the premise, the direction. It’s really hard to note down my thoughts on it properly but I think this is what it amounts to, it’s just so wonderfully interesting and weird while being executed perfectly. The highlight of course is when Gil and Enkidu started battling, this was the most hype thing I’ve watched in a very long time. But I also loved all the scenes with the servants showcasing them, and again, so many great ideas. I’m already super interested in every character here. I also didn’t expect to end up crushing on Enkidu. I don’t know much about Enkidu to be honest (didn’t watch FGO Babylon yet) so I don’t even know what their gender is but man they’re gorgeous. I will be there for the TV series no matter what. Here is just a list of some shots I really loved. There are much more of course, this episode was just constant gas.
