im reblogging from grey because honestly i feel terrible and dont wanna retype all that. i know i just brought laurent back, just brought them back, but, hey. when theyre back, ill try to make them come back even better.

i really hate that i need to make a post like this. and no, this isn't april fools.

as of right now, im falling behind on everything in my school. everything. i started these roleplay blogs as a way to unwind and have some fun roleplaying as my darlings, but it looks like i dont even have time for an hour of leisure anymore. so, starting today, my blogs will be inactive. they'll remain up as i'd like to come back to them one day, but i. dont know when that'll be.

i really love pokemon irl, have for the 2 years ive been part of it, and i want to come back. i just. i dont have time. im not just leaving these, but all my other blogs too, and probably lots of social media too.

thanks for the fond memories guys. i'll be seeing you, hopefully... late june at the latest. you might see me before then, but i wouldnt count on it.

i think what got in the way with laurent's blog is the fact i had so many lore ideas planned, but i didnt really know what they'd post other than the horrors lol. plus i was scared i was going to be annoying :sob:

i had their personality down, but i didnt know if it was too enthusiastic and cheery and would end up annoying so i literally just never interacted with people. but yknow what i think im gonna try again. 3rd times the charm amiright. i love laurent so much i just. I think its interesting how societal values impact the information we are given about pokemon.

For example the growlithe and lillipup lines are seen or symbols of courage and loyalty because of their prevalence in the police force, something our soceity likes to present as good. Their pokedex entries talk about standing up to bigger foes, along witb their keen intelligence.

Despite clear similarities in behavouir, the houndour and poochyena lines are presented much more negatively, due to being a common pick for evil teams. Their pokedex entries focus much more on their negative attributes, focusing on how they stalk and kill their prey, presenting them as scary or unfavourable due to having 'savage natures'.

Whats most frustrating is poochyena also stand up to bigger foes and growlithe cause many more painful burns than houndooms.

Shrugs. Idk. Perspective is important

I'd like to make a quick shout-out, if I may.

Here's to everyone who didn't make it out okay. To all the trainers whose journeys left a mark.

Everyone who was stranded in a cave during a snowstorm, worried they wouldn't make it to morning and who never forgot that feeling.

Those of you who pushed yourself past your limits, not realizing you had the option to back down. Who have seen things that haunted them. Who were left with permanent reminders of just how brutal pokemon training can really be.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm sorry the media only ever talks about the victories, the well-groomed trainers taking it all. Sorry that your dreams became nightmares.

You deserved better, and it wasn't your fault.
