Nereid Achilles HCs (+ you)
Tumblr media
🏺🐚In honour of MerMay that’s just around the corner- I’ve decided to yeet this at y’all. I know Achilles is already like half nereid or something but what if he was fully one? Plus what if he was courting you?🏺🐚
🏺-Nereid Achilles would probably act as he usually does, however I do think he’d be more calmer in some aspects.
🐚-Probably still the hotheaded, temperamental b@stard we all know but I match it up with how the sea itself acts. Can be calm and soothing or the things from nightmares.
🏺- There isn’t really a fixed ‘design’ on how a nereid would look but he’d still have his fiery golden hair and seafoam hazel eyes. You recognise them anywhere. His ears are pointed as expected and his teeth are sharp and more fang like.
🐚- His body is toned and a bit muscular too, probably from all that swimming he does and he has webbed fingers as well as pointed nails. He doesn’t exactly have scales but his skin does give off and iridescent shine to it as if to mimic the illusion of scales on parts of his body.
🏺- I’d like to think he would have those spine like fins on his back (I wish I knew what they were called), and have at least some form of bioluminescence on his body, whether it be freckles littering his body or on those fins on his back.
🐚- He keeps his hair long..sometimes it makes him look like a wet rat but sometimes it makes him look beautiful. There’s no in between.
🏺- Achilles loves hunting, anything that gets his adrenaline up. He loves the chase! From chasing food to chasing you .
🐚- If Achilles was courting you he’d probably be waiting by the shore each morning for you to show up. Nothing else catches his attention..he’s focused on waiting for you to show up.
🏺-When you do show up he’s ecstatic l a wide toothy grin on his face showing off his fangs while he smoothers you in a hug. Enjoying the feeling of your body heat while getting you soaked as well. If you get a little miffed from that he doesn’t mind. He finds it funny when you’re mad.
🐚- He often asks you to comb and braid his hair..for him it feels like a very intimate moment where you both could just chill and talk as the waves calm moves against the sand and over the rocks on the beach, he would talk about his day of swimming, hunting, and sparring while in turn listening to you and your day.
🏺- Achilles isn’t much of a ‘gift giver’ but for you, of course he is. He’d usually spend a good hour or so looking for something that would be a worthy treasure to grace his beloved with.
🐚- To your surprise he’d come back with strawberry top shells, conch shells, pearls- or on a special occasion- freaking Aquamarine. And he won’t take no for an answer so you have to take them.
🏺- When he’s not showering you with gifts he’s either being a sea pup or a lil brat sometimes- either way it just him showing how much he loves you by laying on top of you on warm sunny days and enjoying both the heat from the sun and you…he won’t let you go. I’m sorry.
🐚- On the odd occasion that he comes home with you he finds himself buried in your bed. Rolling up in a blanket like a little blanket burrito. His tail swishing slightly at the warm fabric and depending on the time when he comes over to your home..you’ll either be met with a wet blanket or a missing blanket (he has taken it with him.)
🏺- And don’t get me started on how jealous this man gets. Again..he’s not really a red flag..but..he has his moments. He doesn’t take kindly to people getting too friendly or touching with his darling. How he defines that? People talking to you for longer than 20 minutes when he’s around. In his mind- he should have all your attention. No one else.
🐚- He makes the expectation for Patroclus because he’s his therapon and friend, but like..anyone other than anyone he knows..it’s a big no no if it goes past the 20 minute and a half mark. You might want to set a few boundaries.
🏺- One odd thing he likes doing is poking your belly…why? You don’t know. He just loves to do it. Poking it and stroking it…resting his head on your belly and staring up at you with those sea foam hazel siren eyes. If you ask him why he’ll just tell you one thing. “You’re soft and I like that..”, probably due to the fact his body is a little bit more on the firmer side of things.

Twisted Wonderland OFFICIAL Prefect Profile from DisneyGamesJP
the great Grim-sama thought some sidekicks may want this so here you go funyaah~
How to use :
download the picture from Tumblr, full resolution is 3000x1688px it's a png,
the "Message" block took more lines to translate than the original, and I kinda adapted it a bit, but the essential info is there + I used Maiandra GD font for it,
in the "Message" section, it's asking you the date since when you've been playing Twisted Wonderland, the format is the 年 year first, then the 月 month,
the "Question" section is like an interview, asking you about your favourite memory from the Game or your OC story, where you've been traveling or would like to travel in TW, what kind of Magic Spell you wish would exist if anything is possible, and what you would do if you suddenly won 1 million Madolls,
the "My Best" ranking is up for you to choose what to rank > put "Electives" or "Cooking" or "Friends" in the first box and then use the boxes 1, 2, 3 for your replies,
the white slots are for you to type / insert / draw your own things,
if you want to use the title font similar to the game, you can download and use Swistblnk Banthers,
if you want to reuse some of the game official assets to insert, go and visit @alchemivich and don't forget to credit their efforts,

i know i'm years late to the party but are you telling me that kids today think odysseus is a misogynistic creep because madeleine miller turned the protagonists of a 4,000 year old piece of classic literature into r*pists? when nearly every instance of odysseus being with a woman on his travels was basically straight-up coercion or because he was ordered to do so by a god? when his wife was so in love with him that she waited for him for two decades? when he broke down in tears upon hearing her voice again?

Jealous, Jealous, Jealous Boy (Patroclus hcs)
Tumblr media
Patroclus x Fem! Reader / GN reader (I don’t think it really matters but still, just in case)
🌿- Patroclus is usually always so calm. He never really makes it obvious when he’s jealous unless you really pay attention to his mannerism.
🍵- He always talks about how he’s sure he’s fine but yet does little things that hint to you that he’s being a bit possessive.
🌿-Again, he’ll try to be polite, but sometimes it just burns him to see people being touchy with you, especially if Achilles is being all flirtatious with you and seductive.
🍵-He knows how charming Achilles is, and he hates to admit it but he’s a bit worried that you’d leave him for the warrior prince.. he’s trying to work on it.
🌿- But it’s not his fault entirely…most times he’s gets overshadowed due to Achilles. After all- it’s his name that is mainly heard- not Patroclus..
🍵- He knows that you truly love him and wouldn’t play with his feelings but he’ll occasionally just come up to you, place his head on your shoulder and you’ll hear him mumbling something along the lines of: “I love you…so much…”
🌿-It’s his way of saying to you that he’ll never leave you and he hopes you feel the same (of course you do)
🍵-You don’t have to remind him a lot- he’s not that insecure. But sometimes he just needs a little reassurance. His confidence isn’t low, but we all have those moments, y’know
🌿- Sometimes all he needs is a little hug and a kiss and he’s all smiles once more. He’s such a sweet man.
xX🍓🍵 reblogs, likes and comments are appreciated 🍵🍓Xx

I need y’all to read this please 🙏 because I’m on their side for the most part. And with that said I still enjoy the Musical
I'm seeing everyone pointing out the possible issues with Epic the Musical's deviation from the original story of Circe and Odysseus, and as someone who's studied Ancient Greece/ancient Greek myths a bit, I wanted to say some stuff about it. This will be a bit of a long one, so apologies for my rambling!
Note that I'm not trying to shit on SA survivor's perspectives and (completely valid) arguments. I'm just trying to offer some context surrounding the original myth and how it fits (or rather, doesn't fit) with a modern audience. If I'm wrong with any of this, feel free to call me out! Criticize the shit out of me! I like learning about Greek culture and myths and would 100% love to hear other perspectives on this.
So, a few points about Ancient Greek myths to kind of explain the context around Circe and Odysseus:
Greek myths generally did not have good views/depictions of women. Women were almost always depicted as conniving, selfish, sexually insatiable creatures. To largely summarize the process within actual Greek society, women had three/four stages in their life: child, dangerous/wild virgin (after first menstruation), married woman (whose wildness was tamed by her husband), and then a "real" woman (a mother). There are a few deviations from the "evil" trope, the most prominent of which being Penelope herself—she's basically the ideal Greek wife, staying loyal to her husband for 20 years and all that.
Adultery only applied to women. Husbands cheating on their wives wasn't merely tolerated, but expected. Marital sex wasn't seen as enjoyable, rather something that had to be done for the sake of reproduction and continuing the bloodline/securing inheritance. Men cheated on their wives with various kinds of prostitutes, concubines, mistresses, etc, but sleeping with unmarried women (that weren't specifically prostitutes) or married women was looked down upon. Women didn't have this same standard. They could only sleep with their husbands, hell, their husbands were pretty much the only men they could even interact with (excluding family, obviously).
The original myth has Hermes very plainly lay out how Odysseus' confrontation with Circe will go: Odysseus will eat the moly, draw his sword at her, she'll proposition him, and Hermes directly tells Odysseus to accept. Basically a "sleep with her if you want your men to live" situation. (See this post for more specifics on this).
So, let's apply this to Epic: The Musical. Here's some reasons I think may explain the Circe myth being changed:
The Greek "women being evil" stereotype is... problematic. While I 100% understand that it's important to acknowledge male victims of SA, I don't think the original myth was focusing on Odysseus being a victim—I saw it more of an emphasis on Circe being a sexually selfish woman, as all Greek women were believed to be. Changing Circe to be less conniving and evil deviates from the concerning Greek stereotype.
The SA in the myth is not actually very clearly SA. Yes, with a modern perspective, it absolutely is sexual coercion, but for Greeks, not so much. It made sense to them that sex could be transactional. It's already been established that Epic, while still generally accurate to the original myth, does change things relating to morality/themes in order to better align with modern Western ideas (i.e. OG Odysseus not being as remorseful and merciful, as that was expected of a Greek hero, but Epic Odysseus having more empathy because that's more modernly heroic). If something from the original myth doesn't translate well into modern culture, then it's understandable to want to change or omit it.
In the case that the original Circe myth wasn't SA (I'm not saying one is more right than the other, I'm just covering all the bases), then it wouldn't even constitute as cheating. Like I described earlier, it was perfectly acceptable and expected for men to sleep with women that weren't their wives. Plus, being a goddess, she's already kinda exempt from being blamed if Odysseus slept with her—only women are ever really blamed for sleeping with (or being SAed by) gods, and even then, their husbands sometimes don't even give a shit. But modernly, we would not see it that way. To us, it's not societally acceptable for a married man to sleep with another woman (without his wife's consent, at least). While Ancient Greeks viewed Odysseus as a good (or at least okay) husband, a modern audience wouldn't. Making Odysseus loyal to Penelope and not sleeping with other women (assuming this wasn't SA, but again that's one interpretation) makes him the good, loyal, empathic, modernly heroic man that Epic is clearly aiming for. Repeating my last point: If something from the original myth doesn't translate well into modern culture, then it's understandable to want to change or omit it.
Applying modern perspectives on Ancient Greek society and mythology isn't worth it. Like, we all joke about Ancient Greece being super gay, but they didn't actually like gay men. Homosexuality was literally only acceptable when it was between a young man and a prepubescent boy (it was called pederasty if you want to know more) or between women (they only considered penetrative sex to be 'real' sex so they didn't really care what women did with other women). Y'know the Hades and Persephone story? Like, the original one with the kidnapping? Yeah, that was normal. The myth of Demeter and Persephone is tragic, yes, but it was so normal that wedding ceremonies often included references/recreations of it! Girls got married off ASAP after their first menstruation to men of at least 30 years old. We don't tolerate that shit today (for the most part, at least)! But it was normal in Ancient Greece. Applying modern rules and standards to ancient culture just does not work.
Anyways, I'll shut up now! I'm gonna go keep listening to The Circe Saga lmao
EDIT: there is good criticism in the reblogs of this post that adds more perspective and corrects some of my generalizations/insights!!
