It's Webcomic Day!

I'm Kay, the writer/illustrator creator of Liege Doomveil!

At its core, it is a story about Liege Doomveil, an evil warlord seeking the power of love so he can finally defeat his heroic nemesis and conquer the realm…by dating, of course!

It's a story with familiar retro cartoon and fantasy archetypes, and even though everyone is a joke, I am taking them very seriously.

This Saturday on Liege Doomveil, we have a bit of closure on Dawn's evening.

The #1 Pro/Con of dating Liege is "what if you could date Spirit Halloween?"

I don't know if I will ever think of new Liege earrings that I like as much as all of these, but I have been thinking of doing a little collection of these for a while, now!

One of the original backgrounds of Page 12's first panel inside Liege's room almost had this:

...instead of Liege sulking with Harbinger off to the side, with the earring holder dead center on the lowest shelf. I realized that there was only Swords, Breaking Wheel, Guillotine and one other set I hadn't really figured out, in addition to making the shot very NEEDLESSLY complicated (so many fiddly details that would have had speech bubbles over them!), though, so it was cut.

I also realized that Liege is usually fully naked in the regeneration pod, he might not bother having a dressing screen.
