Yo, Pop Village ain't ready for Petty Hickory.

I don't know how the situation happens, maybe the bounty hunters time travel and hang out in Pop Village waiting to be pick up, maybe they're just at Pop Village when Branch is having a grey day- BUT-

I can't stop imagining Hickory overhearing, in the middle of a pop party, way too many passive aggressive comments pointed towards his best-boy-friend.

Comments about how the party is going to be/is being/is RUINED because the village grump/crazy/murk- whatever they call Grey Branch- just happens to be at the party, and is now acting like a party pooper with his negative grey mood bringing down the celebration of the music concert.

And, of course, Hickory does take too kindly to that. Even if Branch says he's ‘used to it’. Because Branch leaving the party early, after hearing another quip directed at something personal for him, means he's not ‘used to it’.

So Hickory decides to take the stage, because he knows he can't fight the whole village no matter how much he believes he could take them, and sings a country funeral song.

I repeat myself.

Hickory.

Gets on the stage.

In front of the whole village.

Checks of trollings.

Picks a COUNTRY FUNERAL SONG accordingly.

And sings the entire song, from start to finish, uninterrupted.

And when Queen Poppy asks him why he would sing such a song, leaving the crowd dead silent (probably a few trolls crying) with a satisfied smile on his face, all Hickory says is that,

“I wanted to show em what a real party pooper looked like.”

Honestly? That makes so much sense!

I am content with this answer, and I am even more excited to see where u take this story!

Is this the author of "The Foreign Sounds of the Desert."

Because if so, I will ask my question again:

One thing I'm curious about is if Branch is going to give any insight about his brothers? Like, it's already clear that Hickory and Dickory have a good sibling relationship, and I wonder if maybe seeing that will rouse any hard feelings from Branch?

HIII!!! OH MY HAIR!! Yes, this is the author of "The Foreign Sounds of the Desert"!! Right... so... the thing about Branch and his brothers is that... he straight up doesn't remember them. I first thought of this au before the 3rd film came out, and afterward, with all the trauma Branch already has, the whole 4 brothers abandoning him never completely sat right with me. Not because it felt out of character, just... after everything and them leaving him when he was practically a year old? (In my Headcanons). And him somehow still remembering them? Nope. So I decided to stick to my own made-up script of having Branch not have brother but only in [he doesn't remember them sense], but John Dory will be mentioned in Chap 4 of "The Foreign Sounds of the Desert" by Delta Dawn. And the brothers will show up only after Poppy goes on her Trolls World Tour and meets Branch again and start to rekindle they rocky relationship. Sorry if you're a Brozone Fan and if this wasn't the answer you wanted to hear, but I kinda want Branch to heal from the pain the Bergens and the Pop Village caused him first before finding out he had 3/4 biological relatives who didn't bother looking for him. It works in a way since no one talks about the dead or lost in Pop Village, and I've always headcanoned that Branch was kinda like "if I ever did have siblings, they were probably eaten by Bergens, just like the parents I never knew (but know probably existed) were likely eaten by Bergens."
