Who is he to you?

Shinomiya Isao is a source inspiration for most of the members of the Defense Force, including you. He is considered a legend for his achievements and strength, having been the captain of the 'strongest' first division and eventually the director general of the defense force.

He is someone you respect and admire the most, which inspired you to become a valuable asset of the JAKDF. In tandem with his deceased wife, they were considered to be a forced to be reckoned with– the power couple as some might say.

Who fell in love first?

You did. At first you just admired him, but eventually you fell in love with your superior and friend. It was something you kept hidden, feelings never to be expressed.

When did you fell in love?

Around 20 years ago.

How did you fall in love?

You were just an ordinary officer, steadily raising your ranks for your own satisfaction. During a mission, you almost had a career ending injury when he saved you. You were incredibly grateful for him, which made you strive harder to reach him. But knowing that he's in a relationship, you decided to mask your love for admiration. You kept your feelings to yourself and just settled for being his and Hikari's friend.

Why did you fell in love?

You saw the contrast on how he treated his wife and his work. His strong romantic relationship with his wife was so obvious to anyone. He is usually so authoritative, serious and demanding so seeing him soften and be lenient whenever she's around, you kinda feel jealous.

You already admired him for his personality as your superior and friend. Seeing a different side of him made you love him even more, wishing it was you on the receiving end of his affections.

Did you try to move on?

After Hikari died 10 years ago, you tried to help Isao with his grief by being by his side as his friend. You were sad about your friend's death and even more sad for those she left behind.

The fact that you're still in love with your friend's husband already made you feel guilty at the start, despite keeping those feelings to yourself. After she died, you blame yourself for your overflowing feelings, kinda happy you finally had chance. You were already trying to move on but this hindered your plans.

Who confessed first?

You were friends with him and his deceased wife so you could say you have a close relationship with each other. You being by his side during the rough times had caused you to become closer and forge a special bond. Your genuine feelings have reached him thus making him realize his feelings for you too.

Contrary to the expectations that it would be you, he was the one who confessed first. After he realized his feelings, it took him a long time to accept it but when he did, boy this man is brave. He apologized to his late wife before he decided to make a move on you. He also asked his daughter, Kikoru, if it was alright with her where he received the go signal.

How did you get into a relationship?

He asked if you would like to eat dinner with him just like the other times but this time, it's different. It was a simple candlelight dinner but the atmosphere was pretty romantic. Despite his rough appearance, you could say he's an old-school gentleman, the one that would escort you to your seat and give you flowers on your date. It is a side of him he would never show in front of other people though.

He'd ask you directly if you wanted to be in a relationship with him. You said yes, and that you've been waiting for him for a long time. Hence, you were now officially together but that doesn't change your relationship with each other.

How are you as lovers?

There wasn't much difference compared to your interactions before as you're both still professional in your work. But behind closed doors, you are more open with each other. It wasn't the type where you lay down your feelings bare but rather the type where you talk about your concerns more easily.

You were already friends so it was more of an upgrade but with bonuses. He isn't overly affectionate nor is he talkative. But when he does say something, you'd find yourself flustered at how easily he could let those compliments out.

Who knows about you two?

Aside from Kikoru, it is only your closest friends that know you are in a relationship cuz you're both private people.

What does Kikoru thinks about you two?

Kikoru knows you since she was a child. You were always there to visit her and play with her when she's alone and her parents are busy. When her mother died, you also comforted her and stayed by her side. Kikoru loves you, y'know.

When she heard about it from her father, she didn't like it at first but she loves you too. A part of her is hesitant due to her late mother but she wants her father to be happy too. She's always grateful towards you cuz even if she thinks her relationship with her father is somehow estranged, you are there to tell her she's wrong and that her father loves her very much.

Kikoru likes you and wants you to be part of her family so she readily gave her permission. You were already family before, you're just making it official now.

What does he do when he gets jealous?

He isn't the type to get jealous easily. Why would he? Well it's because he's the director general of the defense force and the legend himself. Is there anyone else a better fit for you than him? While he doesn't let his achievements get to his head for he prioritizes the country first, he certainly prides himself with it.

If he does get jealous, he wouldn't show it. This old man may be honest and blunt but he's still stiff in some areas, after all, he's been a widow for a long time. He had his own share of jealousy back with Hikari but he believes in her. And he also believes and trusts in you. He wouldn't be dating you if he didn't.

Like damn I know my story is inspired by demon slayer but I didn't think of this!! This is truly interesting I can't😭 My mind is overflowing with ideas and I'll share it with you (┛✧Д✧))┛

Kagami didn't think it was possible. That the poison she accumulated in her body for years since childhood could be used in such a way. After all, nobody expects to be absorbed by a kaiju and still live, for there is not a single person left alive to tell the tale.

She first experienced it on a mission back with her old division. The inexperienced her got bitten by a stray yoju on her shoulder, near her neck. She thought she would die back then as she threw it away from herself in a panic and killed it. The wound was shallow but it was enough for her to be scared and not think clearly. She remembers the worried face and scolding she received from Soshiro after that.

What she didn't know was the reason the yoju didn't bite her fully. For just the taste of her blood caused it to become paralyzed. The convulsions were instant but barely noticeable as the poison wasn't a significant amount. The event happened too fast and she just neutralized it, thinking she just killed it with brute strength.

It didn't cross her mind, not at all. She didn't think ingesting poison will lead to her becoming the poison herself. But if she thinks about it, it was inevitable due to her strange fixation. She's tried it all, poisons made by humans or by nature. Granted she didn't want to be succumbed to the excruciating feeling as a child, with her so-called family forcing it on her. She's grown to just be obsessed with it. Her fixation now focused on poisons produced by kaijus.

Of course she's kept it a secret. But there's no way to avoid Soshiro's observant eyes y'know. He knew things about her family, even suspected the abuse early on but didn't talk about it cuz she wasn't. Talking about her family is a sore spot, after all. But he knew about the poison.

He was so concerned after he heard about it from his father. So much that he confronted Kagami about it, almost leading to a huge fight. She told him she stopped but did she really? She's always been honest with him, not lying even if she could but... Kagami's a skilled liar, he wouldn't notice it if she's determined to keep it a secret. Especially since they're now on different workplaces.

She's kept it a secret even with the first division. At least she tried. Experimenting with unknown substances could lead to severe consequences even leading to death if you're not careful. So with the possibility of complications happening, she decided to just get help from an expert. Expert not including herself but a scientist assigned with researching about kaiju substances.

She was extremely grateful that a distant relative of hers worked in the lab. That way, she could keep it a secret from everyone. The eccentric scientist was someone she's never interacted with before but knew of. Granted that she's conscious of her every actions around any members of her family, she never really trusted that person. Their only commonality was poisons.

It was this eccentric scientist that gave her the idea of using her own body to fight against kaiju no. 9. While there's no way of that happening, the possibility is still there. She's began to do this in earnest after Shinomiya Isao's death, all because he was absorbed. There was a sense of premonition in her that says she should do this. She's confused cuz she deemed herself unimportant but she still did it.

With her relative's help, she's slowly injected diluted kaiju poisons on herself. The dilution being 0.01% to almost 75% concentration. She has to build it up slowly or she might die before she could even fight. It was painful, as if her own body is burning everyday. She'd have fevers over 40°C and still go to work like nothing happens. It's a wonder how she's still alive. Maybe it's her willpower to keep on living.

She knew she might no longer have kids with a amount of toxins in her body, her own body would kill her baby if she has one. That would be the most devastating part to her, not being able to bear Soshiro's child but she's doing this for the sake of everyone. So that there would be a future for humanity and her fiance. She didn't think of herself as someone who would sacrifice their life for other people but here she is...

Inside Kaiju no. 9's body slowly being devoured/absorbed, Kagami could barely keep her senses intact. The icky feeling of warm flesh all over her, pulsing as it sticks itself onto her skin. She could not explain the feeling but for someone as sensitive as her, it was the most disgusting thing in the world. The plan of poisoning this kaiju was the last thing on her mind for she's no longer conscious, just attempting to retain her sanity with only Soshiro in her mind.

The news of kaiju no. 9 absorbing her was caught on camera by the drones and delivered by those on the operations room. It's location was finally revealed but at what cost? When platoon leader Kagami was injured while fighting against kaiju no. 16, she didn't have enough strength to fight against number 9 anymore. While she tried to stall for time, it wasn't enough as she's far away from everyone resulting in panic amongst them. Especially the two people that values her more than anyone else.

Gen, being the closest, finished battling his own opponent and rushed to her. The reliable captain of the first division will not let anyone important to him die in front of his face, not anymore. Inside, he's panicking so much with the trauma of what happened before with the old man. Outside, he's trying to remain his composure but failing.

Soshiro, being the farthest away from them and most injured, had to push himself just to go to her. He's definitely panicking and number 10 wasn't helping to soothe his mind at all. His injuries were hindering his actions to try and save his lover and he blames himself if something were to happen to her. Despite knowing that it's normal for one to die in the line of duty, he knew he couldn't handle it if it was her.

The first to arrive at the scene was Hibino Kafka, in his kaiju form. Quite unexpected but not really, aside from Gen, he's the closest one to her. The plan was to not show himself until it was time but he had to forgo it cuz his favorite superior was in danger. He couldn't save Kikoru's father before and it's still weighing on his mind so this time, he will definitely save her. And save her he did.

Kafka engaged in combat with number 9, trying to make it let go of her. It was a struggle cuz he couldn't exactly go full power with her as a hostage. When all of a sudden, number 9 stopped moving. Confused, it's trying to figure out what's happening, finding the source. It groaned as some of its flesh started melting. It was an opening Kafka needed to pull her out of its system.

"What's happening?" They all thought as they watch/hear kaiju no. 9 complaining and visibly weakening. Only one person reacted which is the eccentric scientist whose bright eyes were staring directly at the screen, completely fascinated.

"Amazing... So it really worked! HAHA" the maniacal laughter they let out caught the attention of everyone in a weird way. Gen and Soshiro demanded they reveal what that means and the scientist explained it with much pleasure. They then revealed the plan they thought of and implemented together which granted looks of horror at every word.

"Such a shame we couldn't go for 100% concentration, it would've been more effective" the two males could feel bubbling anger in them at the nonchalantness expressed by the scientist. How could someone be so twisted to come up with such a suicidal plan?! Lest using someone as a test subject and be disappointed at the failure of it?! Only someone crazy can do it so easily. The two wanted to beat this person up if not for the current situation.

Despite kaiju no. 9 not getting to absorb her fully, the effects weren't bad at all. The open wounds that were still bleeding when she's inside led to direct ingestion of the poison. It was something it couldn't easily expel from its body for it already processed the toxins. The said kaiju was now debuffed and it was a great opportunity to all. No matter how reckless the action was, they were grateful for it even if it lasted only for a few minutes.

Who knows what will happen if number 9 absorbed her fully? The question on the back of their mind that they do not have the courage to ask. Cuz if they did, then they would've lost part of their humanity by sacrificing her. Nevertheless, she'll be scolded for her recklessness by the entirety of JADKF once she wakes up. If Kagami does wake up. Her boys will never let her hear the end of it.

For this ask, I think i'll just write how I imagine this scenario will turn out to be. You could say this is just a 'what ifs' since kaiju no. 9 and Kagami have no relations to each other. For the sake of the plot, Kagami will not be gravely injured after fighting with kaiju no.16 which I made on my previous post.

Okay so here we go!!! Be warned as it has spoilers from the manga⚠️⚠️⚠️

Kaiju no. 9, the numbered kaiju that suddenly appeared out of nowhere after kaiju no. 8. According to reports, it has the ability to disguise itself as a human and has the ability to control other kaijus as their leader. The perfect example of this was the attack on Tachikawa Base.

Uzui Kagami and Kaiju no.9 has no relation to each other whatsoever, rather it was Kagami who was onesidedly pissed off by the said kaiju. The attack number 9 launched on Tachikawa Base via Kaiju no.10 made her fiance injured, almost killing him woth the rest of the Third Division. There's no way she's forgiving that so easily. Number 10 was only let off cuz he was useful, if not she'd find way to torture that motherfucker.

She's only realized how great of a threat number 9 is when he outsmarted them all. Never did she expected a kaiju to be so smart it caused a diversion by using the annoying ant type kaijus just so it could sneak attack on the director general of the defense force. Kagami was frustrated, really really frustrated. She and Shinomiya Isao may not have the greatest relationship but she truly respects the man and grateful for him. Seeing him die when she could've saved him, she's filled with even more self-loathing and seething anger to that kaiju.

A trap, she knew it was a trap plotted by kaiju no. 9. The appearance of kaiju no. 11 to 16, six numbered kaijus at the same time was unprecedented and could only be done by it. She had an inkling on its motives but she wasn't sure if she's correct: to separate the JAKDF's strongest forces and eliminate them.

As she was fighting with kaiju no. 16, she wondered. Was she strong enough to be considered a threat by kaiju no.9? The talentless and unworthy her? Kagami always underestimates herself but never her enemies for that is what's been engraved to her entire being. For what purpose is kaiju no.9 doing this to her?

Ah, she understood now. She was too far from everyone. She was caught off guard by kaiju no. 16 and didn't realize it brought her away from other people. She was too exhausted after neutralizing number 16 when number 9 appeared. Its form intimidating, greatly different from the reports she's seen. There were no openings even if she does try to attack. But she knew she can't run. For it will go for the others if she did. Even if she managed, she knew she could never escape.

The only choice was to face it and try to stall it. Kagami wasn't an idiot. She knows full well what this kaiju did to director Shinomiya. She knew it absorbed his memories, using the information gained against them. She must never ever be be killed by this kaiju. Cuz if she dies by its hands, it'll find out the plan she and Soshiro formulated with Hibino Kafka.

"Why are you doing this? I don't think I am worth anything"

Stalling for time, she tried to understand its motives. Number 9 wasn't attacking but she kept her eyes and ears peeled. Attacking it first is a dumb move and she won't do it.

"Eto- Shinomiya Isao's memories says otherwise. Mahh it's good thing you're the type of underestimate yourself and your abilities. You'll be a pest if I leave you be right now so..."

A frown appeared on Kagami's face as her sharp eyes glared at the kaiju, readying her weapon. She doesn't know what this kaiju saw but it won't let her off. She'll die here and this bastard will absorb her memories, ruining everything. She tried to fight. She really did but she was far too weak right now. Her suit already exceeded its limits long ago forcing her to rely only on her strength and reflexes.

The feeling of being absorbed was weird. Her sense of touch was sensitive so the feeling so Kaiju no.9's flesh engulfing her entire body brought shivers down her spine. It was so disgusting and creepy she wanted to empty out her stomach. But not even that was something she could do as she's rendered immobile, her consciousness fading. On her last thoughts was apologies to her fiancee.

If Kagami were to experience a normal death, she would be happy to see memories of Soshiro in her last moments. But inside kaiju no.9, she's aware of the mental battle she's experiencing. It was repulsive to see the monsters in her head try to take the form of the person she loves. If there's one thing about her that is consistent, it's her stubbornness regarding Soshiro. She's already been through a lot, she'd never give in when it comes to Soshiro.

As she's experiencing a mental battle with kaiju no.9, light shines down on the cracks until it fully engulfed her. A familiar arm wrapped around her and instantly she knew she was safe.

"I'm sorry I'm late. I'm here now"

The familiar voice reverberates through her consciousness. Her body may not be responsive but her mind is.

"Let's go beat some kaiju ass, Hoshina!"

An obnoxious laughter could be heard as well. Its attitude to pick fights so obvious.

"Trust me I also wanna do it but this is not our fight. We have to get Kagami to safety first"

The last drop of consciousness in her was him running away at a fast speed. And the rumbling from another level 9 intensity that appeared from their previous spot. Everything else has now faded from the sense of relief.

Safe. She's safe now in his arms.

The memory is related to her relationship with Soshiro and Gen. If she dies, two of the strongest combatants will be rendered incapacitated with grief. Grief and anger hinders judgement thus will lead to their deaths. All hope will be lost (like its plan with Mina's death). She also has access to information of a lot of things that Isao doesn't have. What that is, I won't elaborate cuz I also don't know😂

Also if number 9 does successfully absorbs her, it will never be able to access information regarding Soshiro. Kagami's willpower is amazing when it comes to him. Cause the only thing that scares her is him leaving her.

I'm very love your stories about Kaiju no 8 and I have an idea that I wonder if you could do it. English isn't my first language so I hope you could forgive me if some words I write go wrong. Imagine Kagami go on a misson with Gen and Soshiro and she's got attack by a Honju and got in a serious injured that make her almost lost her life and fall into a comatose for a few months I think, and their react about that situation. I hope you have a wonderful day!

To be honest, your idea is actually what I planned for the main story of my series. If you've read the manga, it will take place in the second wave arc, where more numbered kaijus got introduced from 11-15! I will give you a slight spoiler for what I had in mind!

Now I am actually planning on creating a kaiju no. 16 specifically made to combat Kagami! If you've read my post OC: Uzui Kagami, it's stated there that she's inspired by Uzui Tengen from Kimetsu no Yaiba thus she knows of Total Concentration Breathing and is immune to most poisons. So to combat her, the kaiju will be inspired by Gyuutaro that works with poisons and sickle (might change the weapon but it's essentially like this)

This is just a summary for my future work which will answer your question but it goes like this...

Kagami is a strong woman who became a platoon leader for her skills and mostly due to her hard work. Being surrounded by people who underestimate her and kept on calling her weak has impacted the way she thinks of herself, hence she doesn't believe she's strong nor had the talent as it took an even longer time for her to be promoted. Kagami can definitely survive a honju attack as she can neutralize kaijus no matter the size with her special weapon.

To be seriously injured, a tough opponent is needed which is kaiju no. 16 who can match evenly with her, maybe even stronger. It would be a battle of endurance between them as poison immunity doesn't mean it combats all poisons. (This is heavily inspired by Uzui vs Gyuutaro okay!)

Anyways, I won't say much as it would be a major spoiler but to give you an answer, her injuries are indeed severe. Her right lung has been punctured making it hard to breathe and use TCB so she had to rely on her suit. The small and big wounds on her body contains poison which is hard to combat making her almost die (like really die). Not even medicines are working because her body is also immune to it. Medicines and poisons are two sides of the same coin.

After declaring her critical condition, Soshiro tries incredibly hard to get to her despite his own injuries. Their locations are distant to each other so he would really need help even if he overuse his suit to get there. He begged, begged for her not to sleep and to wait for him to come. She's already saying her goodbyes as all she thinks about in her last moments was him. She's sorry for she can't wait for him and told him she loves him. Soshiro is definitely ooc for he openly begs and cries for her, breaking the hearts of those listening to their convo.

Gen is also one of them. He's already accepted the fact that he'll never have a place on her heart. Especially as she's never really mentioned him during her last words. As he's the one closest to her, he was the one that took her in his arms and hurried to the base where she would get treatment faster and better than the medic on field. By then, her pulse is almost non-existent and she's getting colder by the second. He also wanted to cry and beg for her not to die but he shut his feelings up.

For miraculous reasons, she's saved but in a coma. She doesn't hear any words they're saying as she's occupied by her dream. Soshiro doesn't want to leave her side even after they defeated kaiju no. 9. For the first few days, he'd cry and not leave her side. No amount of persuasion can get him to leave. Not from his captain, his comrades, his family nor hers. It was only Narumi Gen who got to get him away from there and get him back on track.

Ever since then, he'd visit her everyday after his work that he's practically lived there now. Most medical staff told him that it might be impossible for her to wake up but none of them listens nor believes it. Soshiro has faith that Kagami will wake up for him and their promise.

For the first few days, Gen also didn't want to leave her side but gave way to Soshiro who was more broken than him. He kept most of his feelings to himself despite being crushed as well. The only time he cried was when he confronted Soshiro that make him come to his senses. Amongst all the people, he's the most in denial as he speaks to her everyday like she's just sleeping. He'd actually be the most delusional aside from Soshiro with her coma.

As in all, Gen's more or less accepted everything. The question is...

Will Kagami lose her memories or not once she wakes up? HAHAHAHA

Memory loss is not an issue but Gen can definitely try!

I knew you guys would think this as soon as I published that post😭😂 I've already established Gen and angst together in this story so his fate is inevitable😭😭 These two go hand in hand, you know huhuhu

After confirming that Kagami is okay and free from injuries, the two calmed down. They then scolded her for being so reckless despite getting out of the situation safe and sound. Once they said everything that needed to be said, it was time to try and get her attention.

"My head hurts"

Soshiro whined to Kagami, nuzzling his head on her neck.

"Eh? Why? Did you get hurt? Where does it hurt? How did you get hurt?"

Her eyes widened, filled with concern, as she immediately brought her hands to his head. She rubbed it to somehow relieve the pain but to her horror, she felt a bump that had formed.

"How did this happen? Omg, are you okay? Does it hurt? Let's get you to the medic, okay?"

She pushed him away from her so she could grab his cheeks, close to her face. The frown was evident as she's greatly concerned about him. Her pampering brought a giddy smile to Soshiro's face as he continued on his act.

"Just a little bit. I think it would be better if you gave it a kiss"

Gave it a kiss she did. She isn't one of public display of affection but she's not in her right mind right now. Her mind is only filled with concern for his well-being that she's ignoring her surroundings.

For bystanders like Gen and the few officers present, even the drones watching them could witness just how different she's acting from usual. Affectionate and overly worried. If there were doubts to there relationship before, this scene has proven those wrong.

To Soshiro who was basking in her care, encaged her in his arms. As they sway together like they're the only people in the world, he couldn't help but glance at the now silent captain of the first division. The person who had the same injury as him but was neglected.

Since his hair was slicked back rather than down like usual, one could clearly see his expression. At first he was annoyed, but as they wrapped their arms around each other, his head just looked down. He tried to look unbothered but everyone could clearly see how heartbroken he was. This was the struggle of falling for someone who's already in love with another.

Soshiro is smug that he gets to show how much she likes him. But he also felt pity to the guy whose feeling will never be returned. Still, it wouldn't make him bend for Kagami is his and only his. He would never share the lady in his arms to anyone.

Ok I thought of an idea for kn8 hear me out Pls!!!!! what about soshirou older brother aka soichiro enter the fight between narumi and soshirou but like in a funny scenario like him witnessing the love triangle going on decided to tease the two by making them jealous by using kagami in front of everyone to witness I'm talking hugging kagami , leaning towards her , putting his head on her lap, and whispering to her something that make her blush and giving her gift basically all those cheesy cliche stuff which ends up the two rival working together doing whatever it takes to get souchiro away from kagami in end souchiro revealing he won't steal kagami from them ( kinda think since we know that soichiro obviously care for soshirou that he would atleast have a great relationship to kagami in some extent to see how his brother doing)

The City of Akihabara. Famous for its electronics shops, arcade games, maid cafes, and stores catering to anime and game lovers. It was not a place you would see Uzui Kagami in but here she is, standing in its busy streets, waiting for someone.

"Onee-san~ Are you alone? Wanna hang out with me?"

This was not something she could avoid could she. She was prepared to ignore the person trying to pick her up but as that person stood in front of her, she could recognize the tail of white and purple hair. And as she looked up, she could see the familiar face of her dear brother-in-law.

"Not cool, Soichiro-niisan"

She deadpanned at the person in front of her who was unbothered by her reaction.

"You would totally react if it was Soshiro who did it"

If his narrow eyes could wink, he would totally be doing so. He knew that mentioning little brother's name would make her react and he's proven to be correct as she tries to hide her blush from him.

"So~ Why does my cute little sister want to meet up in Akihabara of all places?"

"I wanted to buy a gift for Soshiro but I don't know what. My captain said there are some games good for couples to play"

Soichiro hummed as he looked around the place. He's been here before with some of his friends but knew it was her first time. He glanced back at his sister who seemed really curious about the place.

"For now, why don't we look around first"

Kagami nodded as they started walking, her eyes darting all over the place. They talked as they walked, catching up on things while stopping to window shop at some stores.

Kagami would sometimes hangout with her future brother-in-law, Hoshina Soichiro, despite the disapproval of her fiance, his brother. The reason she's doing this is simple. She knew just how much Soichiro adores his little brother yet Soshiro doesn't want anything to do with his older brother. She's tried hard to reconcile them again and again but failed everytime.

So here she is, spending her time with her big brother, just to tell him stories about his little brother. Of course that doesn't mean she'll only be talking about him! Kagami is a single child so she's really happy to have a big brother like Soichiro, as he is overjoyed to have a sister like her. Hanging out with Soichiro-niisan just to be spoiled is truly the main purpose of this event!

"Our little Kagamin is really spoiled, isn't she?"

He pinched her nose as she scrunched up with his actions, squatting his hand away. He could only laugh at her as he ruffled her hair. Her arm still link around his as she glared at him for ruining her hair.

To the two, these signs of affection are only part of their usual interactions as siblings-in-law. To a bystander, however, it seems like two lovers are having PDA on the streets.

Lovebirds.

That's what it looked like to Narumi Gen who dropped his newly bought PS6 to the ground in shock. His eyes were bulging out of his sockets and his jaw was technically on the floor as he watched his crush drag away the long haired male to someplace with their arms linked together.

"This can't be! NOOOOOOO!!!!!"

Narumi Gen dramatically reacted as he kneeled on the ground and hit it with both of his fists like a meme, the passersby avoiding him like a plague. He would wipe the crocodile tears but instead, there was fire burning in his eyes.

Who does that guy think he is putting his hands on his crush?!!!

He saw Kagami and that guy he doesn't know by the claw machines. She was pointing at the purple cat with squinted eyes as he tried to get it for her. Gen saw her laughing at him for not being able to get it on his first try as the man flicked her forehead before trying it again. He gripped the machine he was hiding behind at and is definitely gritting his teeth with jealousy.

Hoshina Soshiro couldn't help raising his eyebrow once he saw the message. His fiancee being too close to someone? That's impossible.

Soshiro looked at the photo and the default smile on his face dropped. Was this why Kagami wasn't hanging out with him on their day off? Cuz she's having a date with his brother?? He could imagine his brother doing this on purpose just to annoy him, and it's proven to be effective.

Those were Soshiro's last words as he exited his apartment, heading straight for Akihabara. Ain't no way he's letting his brother get away with this scheme.

The moment Narumi Gen saw the word brother on the screen, he understood just why he found that man irritating. His hair color was different but those eyes, those narrowed eyes were the same. He had a nagging feeling on the back of his head the whole time he was watching them, about where he had seen this fox-eyed man before. Turns out it was Hoshina Soichiro, captain of the Sixth Division, the older brother of his rival.

Hoshina Soichiro was no idiot. He already saw the captain of the First Division following them as soon as they exited the arcade. There's no way he's not feeling the daggers digging onto his back nor the dark aura he's exuding. He knows what Narumi's relationship was with his little sister for she tells him about it, sometimes complaining.

The captain of the First Division likes his little sister, that part was obvious. His little brother obviously loves his fiancee. He also knows of the rivalry between him and his brother. Hoshina Soichiro grins widely at the devious plan he came up with.

"What do you wanna do next?"

Soichiro placed his arm on her shoulders as they walked the busy streets of Akihabara. She tilted her head but let him be. He could hear growling behind as the aura of seething jealousy could no longer be contained.

"I'm hungry"

She pretended to think before telling him she's hungry, which earned a chuckle from him. They entered a restaurant, sitting on a table for 4, with Gen secretly following behind them. He sat a few tables away, hiding his face with the menu.

As the two placed their orders, the door to the restaurant opened and in come Soshiro, who tried to hide the fact that he rushed there. He was going to interrupt the two before he got dragged back by Gen.

"Why did you drag me back?"

"Are you crazy? Why would you head there without a plan?!"

"I don't need a plan to talk to my fiancee"

"This bastard..."

The two bickering idiots were bound to be noticed as they didn't bother hiding while doing so. Even more as they stand in the middle of the establishment, attracting the attention of other customers, particularly the two they were spying on. The staff wanted to try and stop the dispute but were too scared to do so.

"Now now, it's not good to fight the two of you"

The two who were grabbing each other's collars just now looked at the man that placed his hands on their shoulders. The man who was sitting a few tables away was now stopping their fight. The same man who was the cause of this in the first place.

"Soshiro and Gen-kun? What are you doing here?"

Kagami who also got up from her sit, wanting to help stop the commotion was surprised to see the people she wasn't expecting to be there at all. The two immediately wrapped their arms on each other's shoulder as they looked at her in a merry attitude.

"What a coincidence to see you here, Kagami"

"We were just in the area looking around"

Soshiro and Gen spoke alternatively, maintaining the facade. While they didn't totally answer her question, she didn't mind it.

"I knew it. You two are really close"

She smiled happily as she saw the good relationship between the two rivals. As expected, all of their bickerings and fights were just an expression of their closeness. Soichiro laughed at how oblivious she was to the situation, clearly seeing the two at each other's throats a few moments ago.

"Why don't you two join us for lunch? It would be bad for business if we continue to stand around here wouldn't it?"

Soichiro suggested as he had already dragged Kagami back to their seats, this time sitting besides her than in front. The two looked at each other before trying to take the sit in front of her first. Fortunately for Gen, he got was closer and sat first. Unfortunately for Soshiro, he had to face his brother rather than his fiancee.

"So... What brought you two in Akiba together?"

Gen was the first to ask, having been the one who's following them for a while. Side-eyeing the captain of the Sixth Division.

"It's been a while since we last saw each other so I just wanted to hang out with my little sister"

Acting oblivious, Soichiro side hugged Kagami and leaned his head on hers. This seemed to fluster her but she didn't stop him. Of course this would mean the two males in front of them were technically killing him on their heads now.

"I'm quite upset. Why didn't you tell me you're going to hang out with him of all people, Kagami"

Soshiro pretended to pout as he crossed his arms, looking quite disappointed. Kagami immediately became crestfallen, having been guilty of not telling him about it first.

"I'm sorry. You didn't want to talk about him so I..."

"It's not your fault"

It's this guy, he thought as he frowned at his brother who was clearly enjoying this.

"This brat, why are you making my sister sad?"

Soichiro pat Kagami in the head to comfort her. He pretended to frown as if what his brother did upsets him, when in fact, he was trying hard not a grin so hard.

"If you wanted to look around Akiba, you could just ask me! I know every inch and corner of this place"

Gen not liking how he's being ignored, turned back the question to him. He's incredibly annoyed but he had to hide it in front of his crush.

"I was actually going to but you said you were busy with the new game you just bought"

As if lightning had struck him, Gen couldn't help but react dramatically. It was there! The opportunity was there! Yet he blew it! He hit his head on the table from shame, crying crocodile tears, which startled Kagami who asked if he was okay.

Their orders arrived while Kagami was busily trying to comfort Gen. Soshiro took a sip from his drink as he blatantly ignored his brother. This made his brother show a sad smile, thinking his reaction was inevitable after everything.

"How are you?"

"I'm fine"

"Kagami told me a lot about you"

"I see"

The silence was awkward as Soshiro shut Soichiro down. Soshiro doesn't hate his brother but he couldn't help the feeling of inferiority every time he sees him. It's been so long since the last time they had contact so he just doesn't know what to do.

Gen could care less about their relationship as brothers but seeing how worried Kagami was, he had to at least do something.

"Remember that game I introduced to you last time? That one you liked most"

He tried to distract her but engaging a conversation with her alone.

"Which one? Oh! The visual novel one! What was it called again? Oto- Otome? Otome game!"

Kagami was confused at first as he had made her play plenty of games. Some she couldn't understand how to, the others easy but she doesn't quite like. For someone who likes to read like her, there is only one answer.

"I didn't expect you to be the type to play otome games, sis"

Amused, Soshiro and Soichiro joined the conversation. She tilted her head, not knowing what's wrong with it.

"It's unrealistic but the stories will hook you up. Though I don't know why there were plenty of guys/girls to choose from"

Soshiro squinted his also narrow eyes at the guy beside him in a 'what are you teaching her' kind of way. Gen feigned ignorance as he whistled.

As they finished eating and chatting, it was now time to leave. It was not in their plan to have two extras joining but it wasn't unwelcomed. The only thing was if they should continue their initial plan or not.

"Wanna head to the park, sis?"

Kagami nodded her head at her dear brother's suggestion, oblivious to the reactions of the two men who joined them.

"What about you guys, wanna come?"

Soichiro wanted to snicker bit he couldn't make it too obvious that he's finding their jealousy entertaining. He wanted to see how far he can go with teasing them as he whispered something to his sister's ear.

The two men saw her blush as she immediately hit his arm in embarrassment. Their glares worsened as they watched the smirk on his face growing wider by the second.

"Sure, why not? I'm free"

Gen took her side, squatting the arm trying to wrap itself on her shoulders. Once again taking her attention away to himself.

"Better than leaving you two alone"

Soshiro squeezed himself between Kagami and Soichiro as he tried to link their arms together. By now, Kagami was surrounded from both sides leaving Soichiro on the side. They started walking while ignoring the pouting man following behind them.

As soon as they arrived at Ueno Park, they could see a lot of people coming and going. There really wasn't much greenery as there were more ample pathways and flea market vendors in there. Depending on their choice, they could either go to the zoo, museums, or the lake. As they have a lot of time, they decided to go to all of them.

While Kagami was having a blast, the same couldn't be said to the three. Soshiro and Gen were joining forces to prevent Soichiro from getting closer to her which takes a lot of patience cuz he's so persistent. And when they think they fended him off, they'll be fighting each other for her attention which will give Soichiro an opportunity to take her away. Really, they couldn't get a break. As long as she's happy then they'll endure this.

"I'm gonna go get us some drinks"

They decided to rest on a bench after walking for a long time. It was really tiring but fun. So to show her gratitude, Kagami headed to the nearest vending machine to get them some drinks, leaving the three behind.

"No need to be so on guard, you two"

Once she was gone, the two unleashed a full on hostile attempt on Soichiro, finally being alone with him. He sweatdropped at them, raising his hands to show he means no harm.

"I'm not planning on stealing her"

They squinted at him, not believing his words at all.

"You better not"

They said at the same time as Soichiro just laughed awkwardly.

"I only think of Kagami as a little sister, after all"

He said this to reassure them but, in actuality, he's pointedly saying this to his brother. She'll be his sister in the future so there's nothing wrong in getting close, no?

"Umm... There are people waiting for me. Could you please get out of the way?"

The three of them could say more to each other but as soon as they saw Kagami being surrounded by two strangers who couldn't seem to get a hint. They dropped everything as they went to her. Soichiro and Gen holding on both of them while Soshiro takes her in his arms.

While they may not get along with each other, they will surely move together for her sake.

Note/s: It was fun writing this but I think I kinda half-assed it from the middle to the end😭 I'm sleepy, tired and busy so I just rushed the ending, skipped some parts, and didn't get to edit this properly. I'm sorry I gotta give ya idea!!!! For your Kn8 story what if the third division and first division have to do a mission together but when Soshiro and Gen tough Kagami was in danger they were going in the same way but accidentally hit each other in the head which turned into an argument.

How hard can protecting someone be? To some people, it comes as easily as breathing like it's their second nature. To the JAKDF, it is their duty and responsibility to protect people from the harm brought by kaijus.

Hoshina Soshiro believes that he must eliminate the threat of kaijus to protect everyone even at the cost of his life.

Narumi Gen believes that since he is strong, there will be no one dying in his watch. (someone already did RIP Isao Shinomiya)

These two, when it comes to the person they like, will go inside the kaiju's den just to save them. Either portraying a prince charming in a white horse or a chivalrous knight in shining armor.

The First and Third Divisions going on a mission together was kind of a rare occasion as they both have designated areas assigned to them. Even on a large scale, it would consist of the whole Eastern Division or the entirety of the Defense Force. The only chance for that to happen is when they are present at the same place at the same time.

It was a normal day, at least that's as normal as it can get for the JAKDF with no kaijus in sight. The Third Division was once again invited to the First Division to train when the alarms set off. In an instant, they dropped everything and prepared to head out.

"Why do you guys have to come too?! This is a mission for the First Division not the Third!"

Narumi Gen complained to his earpiece as he sat impatiently inside the car, his feet tapping rapidly. The recipient of the complaint was obvious to everyone.

"We're already at the same place at the same time, why not join forces to eliminate the threat faster?"

Gen could hear the annoying voice of his rival replying to him. He wanted rip his hair in irritation but he won't as having a bald spot would look uncool in the camera.

"Like hell I wanna join forces with you!!"

"Captain Narumi"

A familiar voice interrupted him before he could say any further. She was just calling his name but it somehow gave him chills on his spine.

"Please calm down"

To be honest, Kagami could say more things but decided not to as it's not really her place to reprimand her captain in public. There's a time and place for that. She could only hope he could understand that.

"Yes ma'am"

As if a telepathic connection was formed between them, Gen just shut up. He could only be grumpy even when that irritating laughter resounded in his ears, mocking him.

"The same goes for you, Vice Captain Hoshina"

"Hai~"

The laughter immediately stopped as soon as she mentioned his name. A smug smile formed in Gen's face as she also did the same to him. He thought there would be favoritism so he was grumpy but there wasn't.

The officers from both divisions, who could hear the entire conversation, couldn't help but snicker in amusement. Even the people from operations room were intrigued for they know of the rivalry and the power one person held between the two. To the First Division, it was a common occurrence, if not milder than usual. To the Third Division, it must've been quite a show to see their vice captain bend so much for a girl. Especially those present in his car could see the bright aura he's exuding.

The kaiju that appeared this time takes the form of a giant spider. The honju with level 7 intensity transverses around the vicinity with ease. Its yojus, at level 5 intensity is quite like the mushroom kaiju that appeared on the Third Division, are aplenty. It is quite an annoying opponent due to its ability to spew sticky, acidic webs from its venomous mouth.

Many inexperienced officers are caught in the web laid out by the spiders. Some of them, visibly creeped out at their fears thus leading to poor performances. Of course that doesn't stop the others from doing as much as they can.

"WAHAHAHA I've already neutralized 53 of them! Can you beat that Hoshina?!"

"Just 53? I've already killed 58"

"It's 63 now!"

"65"

"69"

"75"

"82!"

Majority of the yojus have been exterminated by the two, leaving their own squads with nothing to do. They even go as far as to neutralize other people's spoils leading to ire of some.

Kagami couldn't help but sigh at their petty rivalry as she eliminated the yoju in front of her. Their numbers are already thinning out yet she couldn't help but frown as if there was something wrong. The honju was already being handled by captain Ashiro so she has nothing much to do aside from not letting the yojus to slip from their grasp.

"Uzui squad have finished neutralization. Proceed to free up the disabled officers"

The mission was ending quicker than expected with the help of both division. Maybe it's because she wasn't used to it ending so quick that she's unsettled. She ordered her own squad to release their comrades from the binds, just like the others did. She, herself, is currently helping her officers caught in the web get out. The web made of unknown substance was as tough as steel yet incredibly sticky as it is acidic. One wrong move and she'll be unable to move as well.

She carefully slices away the threads to not hurt others from the unnecessary force. Thank god for the suits or it would've given them more casualties than not. The spider webs have been spewed out randomly and has also affected the building nearby, melting it down to its foundations. Rescuing seems to be harder than eliminating kaijus.

Rumblings and creaking could be heard from above and as she looked up, the building was close to toppling above them. She wasn't even half-way finished as the people she's trying to save are already panicking. Even the people from the operations room are slowly panicking.

"Platoon Leader Uzui, the building..."

"I know"

Kagami bit her bottom lip as cold sweat trickled down her temple. She's close to finishing. Just a bit more...

"Oh no! There's a stray yoju climbing! The building's toppling!"

"Platoon Leader Uzui! Platoon Leader Uzui!"

A loud crash could be heard at the area she was in along with a cloud of dust and then the signal was lost. The panicked commotion was heard by captain Narumi and vice captain Hoshina, who immediately stopped what they're doing and rushed away.

"Kagami!"

They both called out to the lady who was not responding at all. They were quite far from her location, as they were closer to the honju than hers. Using their suits to the limits just to arrive by her side. They blame themselves for not noticing it soon enough, preoccupied by their rivalry that it slipped their mind. They fear that it would be too late as they called out to her again and again, muttering curses under their breaths.

On their rush, they didn't even notice the approaching footsteps of the other as they turn the corner. They couldn't stop the momentum nor the speed of their sprint thus hitting their heads quite loudly.

"Why didn't you move away Hoshina, you bastard?!"

Narumi Gen rubbed his head to somehow relieve the pain from the impact. He must've hit it badly that its turning red and has formed a lump.

"You're the one who should've moved baka Narumi"

Hoshina Soshiro rubbed his own head as he couldn't hide his irritation at the man in front of him, the one who caused his injury.

"Maybe if you opened your eyes, you could see where you're going" "Maybe if you removed you hair from your face, you could see where you're going"

They both said at the same time as they glared at each other. This wasn't the time for this but it seemed like the concussion they got made them forget why they're running in the first place. They would've entered another round of bickering when Kagami's panting voice was heard on the earpiece.

"I'm okay! We're okay!"

There was a cough on the other side which brought them back to reality, their worries returning. A temporary truce was formed as they scolded the girl together.

"Kagami! You stay where you are, you suicidal woman!"

"E-eh?"

They both ran to her location, trying to overrun the other. No matter what happens, you can't remove the rivalry in their blood. Especially if it involves the person they like.

They could see the girl who was patiently waiting for them, on top of the ruined building. The officers she saved had long been given to the medic for treatment.

"I got here first!"

"No, it's me!"

"Not you, me!”

"Me!"

They repeatedly said they got there first as they arrived almost at the same time, which continued to confuse the woman.

'What even is happening?' Kagami thought as she witnessed the ongoing bickering between the two.

"I got here first, didn't I?!"

They turned to her as they realized that there was no end to claiming who got there first. Only a third party could know the answer.

"You both got here at the same time?"

Kagami didn't want to fan the fire as she saw the imaginary spark between the two as they glared at each other.

"Ummm..."

She didn't know what to do at the silence nor did she know the reason why they were there together. She wanted to ask but didn't really know where to start.

"Are you okay?"

They both turned to her again to ask for her wellbeing, looking all over her for any injuries. To which, she just let them be.

"I'm alright. We got away before the building could hit us. I even neutralized the yoju that did it"

That wasn't what they were talking about but if she was okay then it's fine. But still, she was reckless so they'll scold her. If there's one thing they could get along with, it would be the fact that her safety is the most important. She may not be a damsel in distress that needed saving but it wouldn't stop them from trying their best to protect her.

being Hoshina's fiancee and being made to go visit him while he is in recovery from a kaiju attack

the marriage is arranged by your families to keep the Hoshina family line strong... and also because Hoshina may have pointed at you at the ripe age of 4 years old and yelled "can she be my bride?" to his father, much to his embarrassment

but since you were engaged to such a prestigious family, your actions were constantly being looked at and even judged. it would be considered reprehensible if you didn't go see how his rehabilitation was going.

"Hoshina-fukutaichou, your fiancee is here," a nurse announced, letting you go inside, shutting the door behind you.

Hoshina grinned, thrilled you had finally come. He didn't get to see you often due to his duties. But it kind of made getting hurt worth it just to see you in casual clothes and not your miko attire.

"I hope you are healing well. Your parents send their regards and this," you begin formally as you place a basket of various fresh fruits, vegetables, and other items that are hard to find on the base.

Hoshina's grin falls to a frown, upset with your formalness even though the two of you are alone. That was the one thing he didn't like about this engagement, how stiff you were. He knew you were always prim and proper, never saying anything out of line, and doing what was best for both families at all times. "You didn't greet me properly," he pouts.

You look up at him and blink, watching Hoshina cross his arms and tap one of his fingers against his bicep. "Forgive me, Hoshina-san, I assumed that you did not want to accept the greeting as we are alone. I know how much you do not like it."

Yeah, he hates it but only because it's a greeting you have to do in front of those who are watching. Being alone, well that's another thing.

But he's not going to admit that he likes it. You'll probably stop if he does.

"Don't care. I want my greeting. How do you expect me to get better if my lovely fiancee doesn't really mean it?"

He can see that you're nervous now but doesn't let up. If he keeps pushing a little more he might even see a new emotion you keep bottled up. It's one of his favorite activities with you.

Finally, you sigh, place the basket on the table beside him, and stand to properly reach your husband-to-be to kiss him on the cheek. "Welcome back, Hoshina-san."

Hoshina holds back giggling and kicking his feet in victory in favor of watching you twiddle your thumbs and watching your ears turn pink.

Not at all! I'm still continuing it cuz the main story needed to keep up with the anime/manga😊 Although it's been hard for me to write as I have no idea where to start and the dialogues😭😭😭

Don't worry! I'm still planning to show what I promised like Soshiro calling Kagami his wife in the Third Division, Kagami and Kafka meeting, the continued rivalry of Soshiro and Gen, and many more! I also have plans to create a new kaiju made for her and an AU!

I have plenty of ideas and only writing is my problem huhu. It's still a work in progress so it might take long but i'm not dropping it!✌️
