I'm done with chapters 1 and 2 and I'm trying to figure out how to post my pages here. So I thought I'd leave it up to democracy

Hey so I'm doing commissions now in case anyone wants some custom character art or illustrations. How this works is you choose a style which will be the base price, and then from there you add customization that may or may not increase prices. So for example Shading is flat 70 plus full body which is a customization 10, plus abstract background 5 will equal to 85. Meanwhile Line Art 50, Headshot, solid color background will just be 50. Anyways just dm so we can discuss what you want done there will be some variation in prices depending on what exactly is needed. Like I'm not gonna charge anybody a full body additional cost if the figure is so teeny tiny in the background it basically acts as a background element. So variations like that will need to be talked about. Anyways thank you!

Media Analysis: Mickey 17, Polyamory, Consent, And a Question.
CW: Talk of sexual consent violation, and sexual assault. I watched Bong Joon Ho's newest film Mickey 17 yesterday just knowing that it was a sci-fi, about the ethical dilemmas of cloning, and that is what the main film is about. Mickey is reprinted over and over again each time he dies so only one version of himself exists at a time. Of course shenanigans ensue and there ends up being another version of Mickey that is printed while the first is still alive. These are 17 and 18. Now Mickey, on the ship, has a girlfriend named Nasha. Their relationship is very sexually charged, from the beginning they are very sexually active and both portray enthusiastic consent when engaging with each other. However, so far their relationship has existed in a monogamous 1 on 1 relationship, but now with there being a second Mickey running around, the relationship fundamentally shifts. Now to point out the elephant in the room, during this scene Nasha is high. It's a space drug so we really don't know what the effects are other than the fact that it's implied to impair cognition. This adds very little to the analysis because obviously inebriation does not make it so you are allowed to assault people, but considering that Nasha is a sympathetic character throughout the rest of the film, it's clear to me that Bong Joon Ho made this decision to give her a sort of plausible deniability for her actions that would not have been there if she was simply just sober. When the scene starts Nasha is already engaging in sex with 18, who told her about 17. It's implied that Nasha and 18 had already been having sex together and both were 'consenting' except for the fact that drugs were impairing them. They've known each other for awhile though and often enthusiastically consent to sex with each other so while neither had the cognitive function to consent, they were doing mutual harm to each other and nobody ends up the good guy. Then 17 enters the room, and Nasha proceeds to spend the rest of the scene pushing 17 into a polyamorous relationship he clearly does not want, undressing which he clearly does not want, and engaging in a 3 way which he is also clearly not comfortable with.
Now the main problem with the scene is we have an unreliable narrator. Mickey 17 clearly loves Nasha. He, from the beginning was infatuated with her. They hit it off in a way that was very sexually charged and therefore mutual sex was made as a way to form connection and became an expectation of the relationship. So does Mickey understand that he was being sexually assaulted by a partner? Mickey is so passive and so in love with Nasha that I'm almost certain if I asked him about this situation he would defend her saying that he should've been more open to the idea, but passivity does not give other people a right to violate consent. And the fact that Nasha was so enthusiastic about starting a polyamorous relationship and almost seemed as if to expect that a multiples violation would happen, it begs the question. We know Mickey started to date Nasha for the initial infatuation but did Nasha start dating Mickey out of a small hope that she would be able to start a poly relationship with multiple Mickeys and had just assumed that he would be okay with that. It's evident that if this is the case, Nasha did not communicate with her boyfriend AT ALL about this aspect. It's also clear that her version of polyamory is that of ownership. She fundamentally see the two Mickey's as being the same person and doesn't consider that they are two different people when engaging with them. So they're both 'her' boyfriend. But when someone who is outside the Mickey dynamic asks to share and be in a relationship with Mickey, her first immediate thought is to claim ownership and say that he's hers. The irony of this is, is that it comes directly after forcing someone into the relationship that 17 did not consent to just moments earlier. But Nasha is complicated and these are new ethical dilemas that are being raised as far as consent goes. Maybe Nasha thought there was enthusiastic consent because 18, who is more to the point and direct, enthusiastically consenting meant that 17 secretly wanted it and that his apprehension was just a momentary wall that he was putting up. Perhaps she assumed that Mickey was on the same page from the very beginning when approaching her for a relationship that this was a possibility of polyamory. And what's more is Nasha is in several more scenes then this and we see that for every version of Mickey printed she is willing to die for him, going so far as to stay in a test tube of nerve gas to be with a previous Mickey in his final moments, despite knowing that he would be printed out later. Does that action mean she does see each of the Mickey's as entirely separate people? Perhaps, or perhaps her view of whether the Mickey's are their own seperate people depends on what her intentions are. Or more charitably, maybe she starts the movie with the belief that both versions are the same and then after getting time to spend with the two of them in contrast she can see the differences in their perspective and learned to see them as different.
Either way there is a fundamental question I want to ask. Is it possible to love someone, completely, and violate their consent? Is it possible to view someone as an object to be owned and a person to be loved at the same time? I don't necessarily know the answer to these questions, but often times I think what people miss in abusive relationships, or more accurately, problematic relationships, is that at different points in time, people can view each other fundamentally different. There is a hypocrisy that is held in which a person in a romantic relationship is both simultaneously loved and objectified, and those doing the objectification either are looking for the not hypocrisy or actively have to engage in double think to believe both at the same time.
I don't fundamentally think Nasha is a bad person. I don't think she desires to hurt Mickey. But I think she needs to think about how she communicates with her partner/s and ask Mickey fundamental questions like what they want out of a relationship, what they are or aren't comfortable with, and what their goals are together.

I was tasked with making a board game cover this time. I think I did pretty good. There's a couple things I would probably fix but I like how certain aspects of this turned out, the tentacle in the foreground, the beam of the light house, the foam at the end of the waves.
