Force Dyad - Reylo TROS Fic
Guys
Rise of Skywalker destroyed me
I have so many feelings
I loved it
But I kind of hated it at the same time
If you've seen it, you know why
I've only seen it once so I'm super conflicted
I'm hoping I'll know what to feel more once I see it again
If you couldn't tell, this is going to have spoilers for the movie
So if you haven't seen it, don't read
Last chance to leave
Okay
Here we go
Rey took a shuddering breath as her hand shot to the one resting against her stomach. Her heart raced, but it shouldn't have. She was certain she had died, but now she stared into the face of Ben Solo very much alive.
She rested her hand against his cheek. "Ben..."
As if pulled by a magnet, she leaned forward and captured his lips with hers. His arms tightened around her as all they wordlessly communicated all their thoughts and emotions through their bond.
When they pulled apart, Ben smiled the first true smile Rey had ever seen from him. Her heart soared to know that Ben was back. He was really back this time; it wasn't like the time in Snoke's throne room. Ben Solo had returned for good, and he was hers.
His smile faded as his grip on her loosened. Rey felt was happening before it did and a horrifying realization came over her. She had died. But Ben transferred his lifeforce to her. He intended to die in her place.
"No..." Rey held on tightly, one hand on his shoulder and the other against his chest, and instantly began transferring the force back to him. "No..."
For five seconds, she felt pure happiness. She wasn't sure she ever felt as happy as she had in that moment. She was letting anything take that away from her now. She'd been alone her whole life, and she would not sit by and watch while Ben threw his life away for her. She couldn't let him do that.
Ben knew what she was doing, though, and grabbed her wrists, a panicked look in his eyes. "Stop."
"No." Tears pricked Rey's eyes. She felt herself grow weaker with every passing second as the force continued to flow through them.
"I just saved you," he said desperately, now trying to send the force right back to her.
"No!" Rey's voice raised in pitch and volume. "Let me save you now!"
They didn't speak anymore. Each focused intently on healing the other, determined to die themselves. Their force pushed against each other's unmoving. As they struggled, the tension grew and grew until -
A flash of white light knocked them apart.
When Rey opened her eyes, she was surrounded by darkness and stars. She instantly looked around for Ben for lied by her side. She reached for him and collapsed from relief when she felt a pulse. He wasn't dead.
He slowly opened his eyes and reached for her hand. "Rey... where are we?"
"I don't know, but we're together."
They stood up, still holding on tightly to each other. Ben looked around with furrowed brows.
"Are we... both dead?"
"Quite the opposite actually," a voice from behind them said.
Rey took in a sharp breath as she felt rather than recognized who the man behind them was. They turned to see a young man, a force ghost, smiling widely.
"Anakin," Rey breathed out at the same time that Ben said, "Grandfather."
Anakin winced and ran a hand through his hair. "Grandfather... that makes me feel old."
"I don't understand," Rey said. "What are you doing here? Where are we?"
"You're in the World Between Worlds," he said calmly. "Your force dyad is quite curious you know. Being connected to someone the way you two are allows for very rare occurrences."
Rey and Ben exchanged glances. He asked slowly, "What do you mean?"
"If two individuals share a force bond, the death of one would leave the other feeling empty, half alive. But you," Anakin said with a pointed look, "are a force dyad. You're not two individuals who happen to be connected. You're already one, just split into two bodies. So one of you could die by giving all your power away, but when you are trying to support each other -"
"The power balances out again," Rey said slowly.
Anakin nodded with a smile. "Exactly. As long as you continue to share your power neither of you will die."
Tears came to both Rey and Ben's eyes as they squeezed each other's hands tightly. They would never have to lose each other.
"But how do we leave this place?" Ben asked.
Anakin shrugged. "You can leave at any time you wish, but I think there are a few other people who wish to speak to you."
As he said that, two more force ghosts appeared. Rey gasped again as Luke and Leia walked towards them.
"Mom..." Ben said, his voice weak. "I am so sorry. About everything."
She shook her head with a smile. "You have nothing to be sorry about. I knew you'd do the right thing in the end."
"I'm the one who should be sorry," Luke said. "I never should've doubted you."
Rey held on protectively to Ben's arm. "I told you he'd return."
Luke chuckled. "That you did."
Ben quirked an eyebrow.
"This girl physically fought me when she found out what I tried to do to you," Luke said. "She insisted that if she went to you that you'd turn to the light again. I think she loved you before she even knew she did and was able to see what the rest of us couldn't."
Rey blushed bright red and sputtered unable to form a reply. Ben laughed and hugged her. "Well I've always loved her. I just never thought we'd really be on the same side."
"We all make mistakes," Leia said softly. "We just want you to know that you're forgiven."
"For everything," Luke emphasized. "We're all proud of you."
"We love you," Leia said with a smile. "Now, go. It's time for you two to go home."
There was a flash of light again, but this time they were prepared for it. It faded, leaving them standing in the broken throne room of Exegol. They continued to hold on to each other still not quite believing that the other wasn't disappearing.
"Never scare me like that again," Rey murmured.
He chuckled as he leaned down to place a light kiss on her lips. "I love you so much, Rey."
"Well," Rey said, hooking her arms around his neck to pull him down for another kiss. "I love you more."
Okay so basically I loved every moment of Rise of Skywalker EXCEPT for Ben's death. I am legitimately in denial over it. I can't accept that he's really gone. I'm genuinely upset about this and have a ton more fics planned where I intend to remedy this crime.
Ugh. I'm just so frustrated about this. Anyway! I hope you guys enjoyed this story! Please like and comment to let me know what you think!

Not This Way - Dark Rey Speculation
Rey stood opposite Ben with her eyes wide. She wore completely black clothes and held in her hand a double bladed red lightsaber. Heavy bags rested under her eyes, suggesting that she hadn't slept much lately.
"Rey..." Ben said softly, taking a step towards her.
She backed away. Her voice was panicked. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to help you."
He continued walking towards her, pushing Rey farther back as she retreated. "Stop! I don't need help."
"This isn't like you." Sensing her fear, he stood still and shook his head. "What happened?"
Tears pricked Rey's eyes. "You're not supposed to be here. I'm supposed to do this alone."
"Do what alone?" He reached a hand out to her and stopped when she flinched. "Rey... don't you trust me?"
"He said terrible things, Ben." She couldn't meet his eyes as she shook her head. "He said... he said..." Words failing her, sobs took over her body.
Ben's face darkened as understanding dawned on him. Rey had met the Emperor. His voice was a near whisper, "What did he say to you?"
She continued to shake her head. It took all of Ben's willpower to not go to her side and wrap her up in his arms. Her grip on her saber never weakened, though, and he didn't want to do anything to upset her further in this volatile state.
"He said this was the only way," she said finally. "I have to do this. I have to." She forced herself to meet Ben's eyes, pleading with him to understand.
"You don't have to do anything you don't want to."
Her face twisted in anguish. "No! I thought you of all people would understand. I don't have a choice..."
"I understand. I understand more than you know. I've stood where you are, and I know how you feel. But I promise that whatever he told you is not the only way. You don't have to do this alone. I can help you," he said, slowly taking another step towards her.
"Stay away from me!" she screamed, raising her saber a fraction. "You don't know what he showed me. What I saw. I can't lose everyone. I can't lose you." She stared into his eyes and repeated, "I can't lose you. So I need you to let me go."
"And I can't lose you," he said, his hand slowly reaching for his own saber. "So I can't let you do this."
Had they not been connected through the force, Rey would've killed him instantly when she lunged forward. Ben sensed the move coming, though, and was able to twist out of the way, raising his blade to parry hers.
"Let me go!" she screamed, her voice sounding hoarse.
As the stared at each other across their locked blades, the dark side completely consumed her. Ben watched in horror as her eyes turned yellow like the Sith from long ago. This was no longer the Rey he knew.
She snarled, pulling her blade away only to attack with a series of increasingly violent strokes. Panic mounted in Ben. He threw himself into the fight, needing to defend himself and also desperate to not harm Rey.
Evenly matched in all regards and inside each others' heads, the fight could've gone on forever. Both obtained a variety of minor cuts and scrapes. Eventually, Rey reached up a hand, causing the roof of the cave to crumble around them. As they fought, Ben slipped backwards on the rubble, falling to the ground, his lightsaber flying across the cave. Rey lifted her saber in what should've been the killing stroke, but he raised a hand, using the force to completely still her.
She grunted as he stood slowly, straining with the effort of not letting her move.
"This isn't you, Rey," he said, panting for air. "Come back to me."
"You don't know me," she growled, her body shaking as she fought against his control.
Mindless of the saber she had raised, Ben stepped closer to her so that he could reach out and place a hand on her cheek. If she had control of herself she would've jerked away; he could see it in her eyes. But he closed all space between them so he could feel her breath against his face. He was desperate, and this was his last chance to connect with her, to bring her back from the brink.
"I do know you," he said, pouring all his emotions and memories towards her through their bond. "And I intend to save you just like you saved me. Because I love you, Rey. I love you."
Something shifted in her eyes. Breathing a sigh of relief, he relaxed his hold on her to place a gentle kiss on her lips.
But the darkness hadn't left her yet.
With a simple twist of her wrist, her saber plunged into Ben's back and through his chest.
He pulled away with a shuddering gasp. As he fell to his knees, the yellow at last drained from Rey's eyes. She stared in horror at what she'd done, and her saber fell from her grasp.
"No... No, NO!" she screamed as she dropped to the ground beside him. One hand went to his face while another went to his chest and the dark wound she'd inflicted. "No.... no..."
"Rey..." he said, his energy leaving him with every passing second. He held her gently too, pushing her hair out of her face as tears fell freely from her eyes.
"It wasn't supposed to be this way," she choked out. "I was supposed to save you." She gripped the front of his shirt tightly as if she could be his anchor to life.
"You did save me," he said, managing to smile through the pain. "Tell my mother... I'm sorry."
"No..." Rey shook her head like her denial could stop what was happening. "You can't leave me. Not like this... Not because I..."
"Rey..." He wiped away her tears. "I still love you..."
Rey couldn't even bring herself to say the words back as her sobs intensified. His breathing slowed, and when his hand finally slipped from her face, she let out a gut-wrenching scream. She bent over, clutching his body, wishing her tears could somehow bring him back.
But Ben Solo was gone. And there was no way to raise the dead.
The darkness had taken over her. And in turn, it took everything from her.
Are you guys crying? Cause I'm crying. I just want to say that I absolutely do not think anything like this is going to happen in the next movie but I couldn't resist the urge to write a little bit of angst, but I hope you enjoyed it!

Reylo Superhero AU
Rey's narrowed eyes scanned the room, Poe and Finn close on either side of her. As she paced around the perimeter, she was all too aware of the skin-tight suit underneath her dress. Her heels clicked on the ground, and she longed to put on her boots which were hidden underneath a table.
The party rage on; the guests completely oblivious that Rey could be the only thing saving them from complete destruction.
"Any of sign of trouble?" Poe murmured.
"Not yet," Rey said as she stopped to pick up a drink and handed one to each of her companions. They were supposed to be blending in, but the two men were stone-faced and focused. "He may not even attack tonight. Hundreds of innocents would be hurt."
"Of course, he's going to attack," Finn scoffed. "Kylo Ren always makes an attack when President Snoke is out in the open. He's somehow always one step ahead of us."
Rey took a deep breath and voiced an opinion she'd never said aloud before. "What if Kylo isn't actually a bad guy?"
Poe nearly dropped his glass. "Are you kidding me, Rey? You've seen him in action. He's tried to kill Snoke on several occasions now."
"But that's my point," Rey pressed on, continuing their rounds. "He only ever attacks Snoke. Something tells me he's not likely to attack when there's a risk of so many other casualties."
"I don't see how that makes him less of a bad guy."
"Come on," Rey said, keeping her voice dangerously low. "Snoke may be our president, but you have to know that he's not a good person. He's turning the country into a dictatorship. People speak up against him and they either end up in jail or mysteriously disappear. The general public is terrified of him."
"So what?" Finn asked with his eyebrows raised. "You think Kylo's right to try to kill him?"
"Of course not," Rey said, hating herself for mentioning anything. "I don't agree with his tactics, but maybe he has good intentions."
"I can't believe you're defending the guy who it's our job to arrest," Poe was looking at her with disgust written all over his face. "Don't forget what side you're on."
Rey narrowed her eyes. "And you shouldn't forget who's the leader of this team."
Poe opened his mouth to snap back, but Finn placed a hand on his arm to stop him. "Maybe we should split up to patrol. We can keep a better watch that way."
"That's a great idea." Rey stomped off before she put her foot in her mouth and let something slip that she shouldn't.
She was the only person who knew the true identity of Kylo Ren. If it got out that the man trying to assassinate President Snoke was his right hand man Ben Solo, the world would implode. She'd known for months now, and she had the argument with herself time and time again about whether to turn him in or not, but every time, she couldn't bring herself to do it. As the head of the Super branch of Snoke's secret service, she was duty bound to do everything in her power (and she had lots of powers) to protect him. Revealing the name of the man trying to kill him would certainly fall under the category of things she could do to protect him. But she couldn't do it.
She found out his identity entirely by accident. She'd been separated from her crew. She and Kylo were running through a snow covered forest, the elements just as much a danger to them as they were to each other. Anytime Kylo tried to use his powers of flight to escape, Rey would use her telekinesis to throw objects and knock him down. Both possessed telepathy, allowing them to constantly be anticipating the other's next movement before it happened.
The snow and wind worked in Rey's favor, though. She threw a boulder at him from behind at the same time that a stray branch slammed into him from the front. With a strangled cry, he collapsed to the ground, and when he paused to catch his breath, Rey flicked her wrist and caused a dead vine to tie him up so he couldn't move.
As Rey walked towards him, he halfheartedly fought against his restraints, but it was in vain. He knew he was trapped.
She stopped right in front of him, her breath ragged from the fight. She didn't say a word as she reached both hands out and pulled off the metal black mask he always wore to obscure his identity. When she saw the face staring back at her, she staggered back a step, the mask falling to the snow with a soft thud.
They stared at each in silence. Horror, anger, and confusion all ran through Rey's mind. And Ben, Ben looked broken as his eyes roamed her face, searching for any sign of hope, of understanding.
"Rey..." he said softly. "Please..."
And it was that please that broke her. She released him from his bonds, but he didn't fly away, and he didn't attack her. Instead, he stood up slowly and began to explain. He explained all the wickedness of Snoke, all the weapons being bought unofficially for wars he planned to start, about the slave trade that was growing in the country, about how thousands were being thrown out of the only home they had because Snoke needed the land for a secret project. He explained that he had to kill Snoke because it was the only way to save everyone else.
When he finished, Rey didn't say a word. Everything she'd ever known was wrong. And when he asked if she was going to turn him in, she shook her head. "No, I'm letting you go."
She still couldn't rationalize why she did that.
She snapped back to reality when the hair on the back of her neck stood up. Someone was watching her. Her eyes scanned the room before landing on Ben who stared at her from across the room.
Telepathy was a strange power. It didn't let Rey hear the busy chatter in everyone's mind. Instead, if she reached out her focus she could hear the voice of one person as if they were speaking directly to her, which in the case of Ben, they were.
You should come over here.
Rey raised an eyebrow. I'm on patrol.
Well if you're looking for Kylo Ren, wouldn't it make more sense to look over here?
He made a good point, so she slowly cut through the crowd until she stood beside him.
"You look nice tonight," he said.
She blushed, surprised by the compliment. "Oh, thank you."
He nodded to the doors to the balcony. "Step outside with me?"
"I'm on patrol," she repeated with a slight smile.
"I think Poe and Finn can handle themselves tonight." He smirked. Something tells me that Kylo Ren won't be making an appearance.
"I suppose I can spare a few minutes then." Even so, it'll be suspicious if I'm gone too long.
"I'm only asking for a moment." Although a moment with you never feels long enough.
He put his arm around her waist as they walked outside. To the uninformed observer, it would've seemed like a rather intimate touch, but Rey knew better. He was simply feeling if she was armed beneath her dress, which she was.
The balcony was deserted. Why would anyone be outside when there was a party mere steps away? Ben released Rey to go lean over the edge of the railing. She sent her mind towards him, but he'd gone strangely quiet.
"What are you thinking?" she asked finally, stepping up behind him and resting a hand on his arm.
"How much I hate fighting you." He looked to her with complete vulnerability.
"Ben..." She looked away, out to the city, unsure of how to respond. In the months since she discovered his secret, they'd fought three more times. While their paths had always crossed each other at work, they'd never been particularly close. Now, their shared forbidden knowledge bonded them, and every time Rey chose not to report him, they only grew closer.
"Rey, I want you to join me."
She snapped her gaze back to him. "What did you just say?"
"I want you to join me," he said much more confidently. "I want to fight with you instead of against you. I know you agree with what I believe. So you should join me. Please..."
"I... I can't do that, Ben. Killing people is not the solution. I swore an oath to protect people."
"When not everyone is on the same side, you can't protect everyone," his voice strained as he begged her to agree.
"I can't join you." She lifted her hands to cup Ben's face. "But you could join me. There's a peaceful solution to this. I know there is. We just have to find it. Together."
He shook his head and brushed hair out of her face. "I can't wait for a magic solution to present itself. I can't act while I know so many others are being hurt."
"Please don't do this," she pleaded, tears pricking her eyes. "There's a solution that doesn't make you the villain, that doesn't make you a monster. Because you're not one."
"You're the only one who ever thought so."
"Then everyone else is wrong," she said her voice thick with emotion.
He leaned his forehead against hers and they stood there, silently communicating words and feelings they couldn't say. They stood like that for a long time, but the moment had to come to an end.
We should head back inside.
What if I'd rather stay out here with you?
Ben chuckled and stepped back. "What happened to being on patrol?
"Don't you dare use my words against me," Rey said forcing herself to smile even as she felt her heart breaking in half.
As Ben led her back in to the party, she finally admitted to herself why she couldn't turn him in. She loved him. And although she may be forced to fight against him, she would never stop hoping that one day he'd join her instead.

Reylo Coffee Shop AU
"You know," she heard her best friend Rose say. "As a barista, I feel like I should tell you that you look like you could use more coffee. But as your best friend, I feel obligated to tell you that maybe you just need some sleep."
Rey groaned as she straightened up from leaning against her open textbook at her table. "It's not like I can sleep in my dorm room. My roommate is the worst." Giving up on studying, she packed up all her supplies as she started into a rant. "She got this new boyfriend, and he basically lives in our dorm now. I barely want to study with a stranger in the room, I definitely don't want to sleep with him around. And do you know what my roommate said when I talked to her about it? She had the nerve to tell me that I'm just jealous." She slammed her textbook and looked to Rose for encouragement. "Can you believe that?"
She was met with pursed lips from Rose. "So I'm not saying what she's doing is fine, cause it isn't, but are you sure that none of this hostility is coming from just a little bit of jealousy?"
"I am not jealous."
Rose raised her hands in defense. "All I'm saying is that you also seemed a bit touchy like this when Finn and I started dating."
Rey rolled her eyes harder than she ever had. "You guys met here. At a coffee shop. Do you know how cliche that is? Who actually meets their soulmate in a coffee shop?"
"Technically we met in freshmen biology. I just didn't work up the nerve to ask him out until he started coming here everyday for coffee."
"I have not had enough caffeine for this conversation," Rey said massaging her temples.
"I'm not making you anymore coffee," Rose warned, getting to her feet. "One sec, I've got another customer."
Rey's eyes followed Rose back to the counter, and she sat up a little straighter when she saw the waiting customer. A well-dressed man stood at the counter and gave a small smile as Rose took his order. Maybe it was just a result of all the relationship talk, but Rey couldn't help but notice that he was insanely attractive. He had dark wavy hair and dark eyes that swam with hidden depths of mystery. And he was tall. Rey was rather tall herself for a female, but this man would've towered over her still. Even though a counter separated them, she could see that the top of Rose's head didn't even reach his shoulders.
Rey immediately felt self-conscious of her hair, which was pulling up in the world's messiest bun, and of her shirt which may or may not have had more than one coffee stain on it. Her gaze didn't stray from the man, but he never looked her way. He simply waited for his coffee, and he left as soon as Rose handed it to him.
Rose returned to Rey's table a minute later taking off her apron as she sat. "And that is officially the end of my shift."
"Who was that guy?" Rey asked with a one track mind.
"Why?"
"Just curious," Rey shrugged.
Rose chuckled. "I don't really know except that his name is Ben. He's been coming in every day for about two weeks now to get coffee. And you've been sitting at this table studying for about two weeks now. But I guess you just now noticed him?"
"Ben, huh?" she asked, her mind drifting. "And you said he comes in here everyday?"
"Yeah... What are you planning?"
"Absolutely nothing."
*****
"Are you wearing mascara?" Rose asked incredulously the next day.
"Maybe," Rey said coyly as she dropped her backpack on the ground at her table.
"Who are you trying to impress? Is it about that guy you were asking me about yesterday?"
"Can't a girl just feel like looking nice just for herself?" Rey asked as she pulled out her laptop.
"Well of course a girl can. But you never do."
Rey may or may not have put a little bit of extra effort into her appearance when getting dressed this morning. She put on a subtle layer of makeup, although obviously not subtle enough, wore a nice black blouse, her best jeans, tall boots, and even wore her hair half down. But it's not like she was trying to impress anyone. Nobody but Rose paid attention to her anyway.
"I just felt like changing things up today. Don't overthink it."
Rose narrowed her eyes as she returned back to work. One peppermint mocha latte later, Ben walked in the door. Rey stared over the top of her laptop as she pretended to be writing her research paper. Once again though, he got his coffee and left without even looking in her direction.
She frowned slightly as he walked out. It was fine. She wasn't upset. It's not like she'd been expecting anything. Only people like Rose got cutesy love stories in coffee shops, and Rey's life certainly wasn't a fairy tale.
When Rose's shift ended and she came to sit, Rey didn't hesitate before speaking. "So his name is Ben Solo."
"What? No middle name. I'm disappointed." Rose laughed.
Rey glared. "His full name is Benjamin Lucas Solo. Now may I finish?"
"There's more?" Rose sighed as Rey's glare intensified. "Of course you may finish."
"He's a senior in his final semester here. He's graduating a semester early in case you were wondering. He's a political science major with a minor in literature. His mom is Leia Organa and his dad is Han Solo! And that means his uncle is Luke Skywalker!"
Rose raised an eyebrow. "Should I know who any of those people are?"
Rey groaned. "Leia Organa is only one of the most influential senators of this generation. and Both Han Solo and Luke Skywalker are famous war heroes. Han with the Air Force and Luke with the Army. Come on, Rose. And I thought I lived under a rock having grown up in an orphanage."
"Okay, okay," Rose said. "So he's related to pretty important people. How did you even find any of this out?"
Rey waved a hand. "The internet knows everything."
"But how did you..." Rose trailed off and shook her head. "Never mind. I don't wanna know. So what are you gonna do with all this information?"
Rey sighed. "Nothing. There's nothing do with it."
"You know, you could just try talking to him. He seems nice enough."
"He probably doesn't want to talk to me. He's related to so many important people, and I'm just some random nobody."
"Well, you never know until you try."
Days passed and Rey continued to dress nice to stare as Ben came to get coffee only to leave without speaking to her. One day she was almost certain that he looked at her, but that's about all she had to show for her efforts.
On the last day of finals, the last day she could see him before he graduated and left forever, Rey had an idea. As soon as she got to Starbucks, she walked up to the counter where Rose worked.
"Grande peppermint mocha latte?" she asked with a knowing smile.
"No," Rey said firmly. "Well, yes. But also no."
Rose scrunched up her eyebrows. "I'm confused. Do you want one or not?"
"I do. But I was also wondering, do you know what Ben's order is?"
"Of course." Rose smiled. "He orders a black coffee everyday."
"What?" Rey scrunched her nose. "Why? Why come to Starbucks and just order a black coffee? Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a Keurig?"
"Maybe," Rose shrugged. "But he said this gives him an excuse to see someone everyday." She sent Rey a pointed look.
She blanched. "You don't think he means me, do you?"
"Look around. Who else is in here everyday?"
"Then why hasn't he ever spoken to me?"
Rose let out an exasperated sigh. "Why haven't you ever talked to him? You both are assuming the other doesn't want to know you."
"Okay, okay." Rey took a deep breath. "I'm going to buy his coffee today. When he comes in to order just point him in my direction."
"I can do that."
Fifteen minutes later, Ben walked in and Rey felt her stomach flip. What if she made a huge mistake? As he walked up to the counter and talked with Rose, Rey honestly felt like running for the door. She watched Rose hand him his coffee and point in her direction, and she braced herself for the inevitable.
He walked over to her table with a small smile. He gestured to the empty seat across from her. "May I?"
"Of course," Rey forced herself to smile instead of showing the anxiety she felt.
"So you're the one who bought my coffee today." His voice was a low rumble that somehow seemed to make him even more attractive.
"Oh yeah," Rey tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "I see you in here everyday, and I've been meaning to introduce myself but I never got the chance, so I figured this was just as good a way as any."
"Do you know who my parents are?" he asked.
"I do, but that's not why I wanted meet you."
"Really?" He seemed genuinely shocked. "That's usually the only reason people talk to me. They see me as their gateway to fame."
"Well I promise that's not me," she said. "I just think you look like a really nice guy is all." And you're super cute so if you wanted to marry me that'd be cool too, she added in her head.
"You're Rey, right?" he asked.
Her jaw hung open for a moment. He knew who she was already. He knew her name. "That would be me."
He smiled. "I've read some of your research papers the university published. If you could actually manage to create the technology you proposed that could change the world."
Now her jaw was definitely hanging open. "No way! You actually read those papers? The department made a big deal out of publishing them but I didn't think anyone would even look at them."
He laughed. "Well I read them. And I'll admit, it made me a little curious about the girl who wrote them so I may have done a little research on you."
"And learned that I come to this Starbucks to study literally every single day?"
"I may have noticed that."
Rey laughed now. "So do you have big plans for after graduation?"
He shook his head. "Not really. I want to go into politics like my mom obviously, but my dad's still bugging me to become a pilot. And my uncle has always wanted me to join the army. Did you know that my uncle made me do an army military camp with him one summer in high school?" He laughed. "Worst summer of my life."
"Really? Was it really that bad?"
"Oh it was the worst. I told him I was going to burn the place down to save other children from having to go through what I did."
Rey burst into laughter. "I'm assuming you didn't actually burn it down."
"No, but I came close."
"Okay, but seriously, you've gotta have some kind of a plan for what you're about to do with your life."
"I do," he relented. "But my goals are more long term. The short term goal is to get to know you outside of this coffee shop."
Rey gave a small laugh. "You're just messing with me now."
He shook his head. "I'm not. Here." He passed a napkin over to her with his messy scrawl on it. "It's my phone number. I'm hoping you'll get good use out of it. Being the son of national heroes means you're actually pretty lonely most of the time."
Rey smiled broadly as she took the napkin. "Well you're not alone anymore."
Ben smiled back. "And neither are you."

How and Why Rey Would Go Dark (and then be saved)
So one of the great things about this trilogy (in my opinion) is that our hero isn't all light and our villain isn't all good. Kylo is obviously drawn to the light and especially is you read the books you can see that Rey has been tempted by the dark side a lot.
Now let's think about what Rey wants. What she wants more than anything is a family which she now has in the Resistance. And she would do anything to protect that family. Perhaps even turn to the dark side
Cause remember Palpatine is in this. And what's one of the biggest things he did? Convinced Anakin to turn to the dark side in order to protect his family! What is Palpatine manages to trick Rey similarly?
But let's be reasonable here. One of the biggest themes of this franchise is hope. And they're not gonna end a nine movie long saga about hope with our hero turning evil. So how does she turn back good?
I think seeing Rey turn to the dark and causing destruction is going to push Kylo back to the light and he's eventually gonna pull her back too.
We see the two of them fighting in the trailer. Why would the two of them be fighting? I mean, they didn't leave on the best terms but they don't hate each other anymore. And it's not in this big huge battle. It's just the two of them. I think it's cause at that point he is good and trying to bring her back

Episode IX Trailer Predictions
So I had a dream that I saw the Episode IX trailer, and I can't stop thinking about it. I thought it maybe had some cool ideas, so I decided to write it down to share with you guys. It's a little tricky taking a trailer and putting it into writing, though, so bear with me.
Dialogue with italics is a voice over. The dialogue has nothing to do with the scene.
Bold italics are words that would appear on the screen in big block text.
The scenes change in-between each voice over or block text. I hope that makes sense!
*****
Rey pushes through the crowded hallways of the new Resistance base. Everyone is talking. With the combination of people, droids, and ships taking off a little ways away, the noise is unbearable. She reaches her room and slams the door behind her. She rests her forehead against the door. The noise from the hall fades away, and the sound focuses on her breathing. Another person's breath can be heard behind her.
“Rey.”
She turns around, a smile already forming on her lips. "Ben."
Ben: The First Order is corrupt.
Stormtroopers rush into a village in search of a valuable item. Kylo Ren follows behind them. He wears no mask and his crackling lightsaber is out. Despite the heavy armor, the stormtroopers are silent as they move. They halt, raising their weapons when they hear a noise, suspecting Resistance fighters.
Kylo raises a hand. "Wait." He strides forwards into the alleyway where his men are aiming. A young girl, no older than eight, cowers in fear. He offers a hand to her which she hesitantly takes. He escorts away from the soldiers, hurrying her to safety.
Hux sneers as the girl runs away, and Kylo can sense the confusion in his men as they look to one another for explanation of his mercy.
Rey: The Resistance is blind.
The Resistance battles down a horde of stormtroopers. Poe and Finn battle in X-wings against Tie fighters. On the ground, Rey slashes a stormtrooper with Luke's newly repaired lightsaber. She defeats her foe, and lowers her lightsaber slowly to her side as she stares at the massacre around her.
Many of the bodies are innocents killed by Resistance fighters in their hurry to battle the First Order. Rey kneels beside a injured but still breathing villager. She looks around hurriedly, but everyone is too busy fighting to notice.
Rey: I don't understand.
Rey and Poe walk side by side towards his X-wing. BB-8 rolls along beside them.
Poe: Don't understand what?
In the middle of a luscious green forest, there's a clearing. Rey and Kylo duel together, dancing around each other as they correctly anticipate the others moves. They lock blades, bringing them close together.
Rey: Why we keep fighting.
In Leia's office, Rey throws her lightsaber down on her desk and storms off without a backwards glance. Leia buries her face in her hands.
This December
Rey and Chewie work on the Falcon, repairing a damaged part. Shouting can be heard from outside. The drop what they are doing to run outside, anxious to know if there's danger. Everyone is running to the main command center of base.
Once there, Rey finds Poe in the crowd. His eyes, along with everyone else's, are trained on a hologram in the center of the room of General Hux.
"He's projecting this to the whole galaxy," Poe says.
"...a year since our previous Supreme Leader Snoke died," Hux drones. "Recently repaired wreckage from his ship has brought new information to light."
A chill runs up Rey's spine as footage from the throne room plays for everyone to see. She kneels on the ground, tears streaking her face as she's terrified Ben will kill her. And then, just like she knows will happen, he kills Snoke instead.
Gasps filled the room. No one knew how Snoke died. No one even knew Rey was on that ship, beside Chewie that is. She notices Poe's eyes narrow next to her, but he doesn't divert his gaze from the footage as Rey and Ben fight back to back against the Praetorian guards.
She thought the footage would end there, but it doesn't. Hux edited it to skip straight to when Ben held out his hand to her. The blood drains from Rey's face as she listens to him say, "Rey, I want you to join me... Please..."
The footage goes away to be replaced by Hux again. "Kylo Ren conspired with Resistance fighters to kill the Supreme Leader. He is a traitor to the First Order, and this is cause from execution. The First Order is now..."
No one in the Resistance is listening any longer. They're all staring at Rey with wide eyes or dropped jaws. Finally, one man points to her and yells, "She's a traitor!"
"You heard him!" Another woman speaks up. "She joined Kylo Ren!"
"She's been giving him our plans this whole time!"
Everyone in the room joins in the angry yelling. The people close in on her, and she backs away slowly. She reaches for her lightsaber, but her belt has been empty for some time now, and her staff in on the Falcon. As the screaming becomes overwhelming, she turns and runs. She hears Finn and Poe yell her name, but she doesn't stop until she's on the Falcon and flying away.
Everything Changes
The Light
Poe, Finn, and Rose all wear formal attire and run through a city with marble buildings. BB-8 and R2 are tight on their heels.
The Dark
Hux screams orders to lines of stormtroopers.
The Balance
Rey and Kylo stand on a precipice, facing each other. Neither is armed.
Rey: We can end this. Together.

Meeting Up - Reylo
The Force was unpredictable. Sometimes is opened the connection between Rey and Ben for hours on end; sometimes only mere minutes. Sometimes they spoke within hours of the last connection; sometimes there were days in between. But never had they gone three weeks without communication. By the end of the first week, Rey was nervous but convinced herself there was no reason to be. After two weeks, she was anxious, nervously pacing around when she had no way to occupy her time. Three weeks left her a nervous wreck, making her sick to her stomach she was so concerned about Ben.
When he finally appeared standing before her, she immediately dropped what she was doing to run to Ben and throw her arms around him. Tears pricked her eyes as she buried her face in his neck, holding on tightly, desperate to keep him for as long as possible this time. His arms wrapped around her, holding her as close as he could. He leaned his head into her as well, her hair muffling his voice as he murmured her name.
Tears streamed Rey's face when she finally pulled back enough to meet his eyes. Her voice was a whisper. "I was so scared. I thought you were hurt or..." She choked on her words.
"Well I'm not," he whispered, stroking her hair. "I'm right here. And I'm safe."
"I need to see you," she said desperately, her eyes widening.
The corners of Ben's lips twitched upwards. "You can see me."
She shook her head, her hands moving to cup his face. "No, I need to see you. Not whatever the force is showing me. I want you to be beside me without me having to wonder if you're going to disappear on me at any moment."
He furrowed his brow. "I can't come to you. And you've already stated that you won't come to me."
"Then we'll meet somewhere else." Rey pulled out of his embrace completely so she could pace. "We'll both sneak off, tell no one where we're going." Her eyes lit up. "No Resistance, no First Order, no sides. Just us. For a little while at least."
Ben had begun nodding as she spoke. "But where though?"
Rey bit her lip. "Ach-To. The planet where Luke hid. It's secluded, and no one would think to look for us there. Because no one knows where it is."
"When can you leave?"
"Within the hour."
The hints of a grin showed on Ben's face. "Send me the coordinates, and I'll meet you there."
****
Rey sat with her legs dangling off the edge of a cliff. She hadn't been able to bring the Falcon - Leia had sent Poe on a mission with it - but she'd borrowed an X-wing and R2. They were parked over by the huts, but Rey had quickly grown bored and gone to explore. She knew every inch of this island from her time with Luke, though, so she resorted to staring off at the sky. The longer she waited, the more doubt crept into her mind.
Coming here was a mistake. Rey was just a minor part of the Resistance. Ben... he ran the freaking First Order. There was no way he'd be able to escape without anyone noticing. He probably wouldn't come.
What if he didn't want to come...?
Rey's chest tightened at the thought. She cared so much about him, but what if it wasn't real to him? What if she was only a game to him? What if he only put up with her because the force required him to? What if...
Rey sat on her hands to keep them from shaking. Her instincts screamed at her to go back to her X-wing and fly away. She couldn't give up hope so soon, though. She had to believe he was coming. He'd just been delayed, or perhaps he was coming from much farther away than she had, or maybe...
As the suns fell in the sky, it became harder and harder for her to come up with excuses. She stayed at her spot on the precipice well into the night. Holding onto the hope that he might show up, she couldn't bring herself to move from where she was holding her vigil. When her eyes became too heavy, though, she wrapped herself up in her cloak, lied down, and drifted into a fitful sleep.
When she woke up, it took her a few minutes to process that she wasn't on Yavin 4. She felt a pang in her chest as she remembered. She was on Ach-to, and... Ben was supposed to meet her. He never showed up though.
Clenching her jaw tightly, she folded up her cloak, sticking it in her bag which also held her lightsaber pike. Then she trudged through the morning dew, her heart growing heavier with every step.
Once the clearing near the huts came into view, Rey let out a gasp and dropped her bag. Parked next to her X-wing sat a Tie fighter.
"Ben..."
Leaving her possessions on the ground behind her, she took off running, desperate to see him. She reached his ship to find it empty. At what point in the night had he arrived?
"Rey?"
She spun around. Standing in the doorway of a hut was Ben. There were bags under his eyes and his hair was a mess; he must've woken up when he heard her run by. Rey didn't care what he looked like, though. He was real and in front of her and that was perfect.
Happy tears pricked her eyes as she ran towards him. She threw her arms around him with so much force that he stumbled backwards a step. He held her as close to him as he could as if he were afraid she might vanish suddenly. Rey felt the vibration of his chest as he chuckled. She buried her face in the crook of his neck as more tears fell despite the fact that she was laughing as well.
"Why are you crying?"
"Because," Rey said, finally pulling back to look at him, "you're here. You're actually here."
"Of course I'm here." The edges of his lips turned up slightly. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"I don't know." Why couldn't she stop crying? "I'm just used to being disappointed I guess."
"Rey..." His voice was low and husky as he moved his hands to cup her face. She shivered as he wiped away all her tears. "You asked me to come, and I came." He gave a small laugh. "I'm not perfect, but I'd never want to make you that disappointed."
"I know," Rey said, smiling finally. "I shouldn't have doubted you."
Something dark flashed in Ben's eyes, and he averted his gaze, dropping his hands to his side. "I've given you plenty of reason to, though."
Rey shook her head as she stared up at him. "What are you talking about?"
"You're so... good," he said. He looked back at her with wide eyes that laid bare every emotion stirring beneath the surface. "And I'm... I'm..." He shook his head. "Darkness lives inside of me. So why would you trust me?"
"Because you are not defined by that darkness. Light and dark lives inside us both." She steadily held his gaze. "And together." She grabbed his hands, lacing her fingers through his. "We create balance. Just like the old Jedi prophecies said. We complete each other." She smiled at their hands and almost missed his next statement.
"I love you..." He said it softly, barely even a whisper like he hadn't meant to say the words at all.
Rey's breath hitched. She met his eyes slowly. Terror lurked in them as he realized the implications of saying such a heavy statement. "What did you just say?"
He gripped her hand tighter and repeated more surely, "I love you, Rey. And I know I've done a million things wrong that I can never make up for, but whenever I'm around you... I finally feel at peace. You are my light, Rey. Say you feel the same... Please..."
Rey never spoke truer words than when she said, "I love you too."
The beginnings of a smile took on his face like he couldn't quite believe what he heard. "Say it again."
Rey broke out in a wide smile. She closed all space between them, looping her arms around his neck. "Ben Solo, I am completely and hopelessly in love with you. You are the only person who could ever hope to understand me, and you're the only one who can make me smile when I retreat into my darkness. I've seen you at your worst and you best, and I love you regardless of your past. Because I've seen into your soul, Ben, and I love you."
She stood on her tiptoes as she spoke, and when she said her last word, he breath touched Ben's lips. He was the one who closed the last bit of space between them with a gentle kiss. All outside thoughts fled Rey's mind as she focused on one thing, Ben.
Her hands found their way into his hair as the kiss became more passionate, more urgent. His hands pressed against her lower back, keeping her tight against him as if he couldn't believe who he really held in his arms.
How had they gone so long without ever doing this before? Kissing Ben was unlike anything Rey had ever done before. It lit a fire in her, excited her, and at the same time, she felt a sense of peace. This was where she belonged.
When they finally pulled apart, panting for air, they stood with their foreheads still touching. Rey's eyes remained closed, but she couldn't have wiped the smile from her face if she tried as Ben placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Through their bond, Rey felt every bit of truth and emotion behind his words as he again said, "I love you so much."
Rey placed another kiss on his lips in response. "I know."
