Crackpot Arcane Theory that may not be totally inaccurate.
So everyone I've been see for the final season of Arcane has been saying Jayce and Viktor are either:
A) Dead B) Tossed into a new peaceful reality C) Multiverse Therory Now all of these are absolutely fun to explore in their own rights, what changes, what doesn't, and all have a valid reasoning in both Watsonian and Doyalist perspectives. However, I propose that Jayce and Viktor are NOT dead or tossed into some disjointed reality.
They were both displaced in time.
Stick with me:
Fortiche and the Arcane writers are not slackers, they may fumble and have to shorten what would have been a 5 season series into 2 cohesive seasons as best they could. But where the writing may fumble; the Artists didn't slack one bit. The entire series is filled with little visual indicators, world building, narrative story telling that bridges the gap writing couldn't often fill. If you haven't seen the shorts explaining this on your FYP, or OverlySarcasticProduction's videos about the series. You're missing out.
I on the other hand have experience using blender for video editing, and have gone through the series frame-by-frame trying to figure out what exactly happened at the end of season 2 in regards to Viktor and Jayce in their final moments.
Recap: Its the final battle, Ekko is being fucking badass dodging and weaving through the marionettes getting closer to Viktor and Jayce while the founders of Hextech are talking. Ekko in a Hail Mary move, goes beyond the limits of his 4 second time jump, all but sir-charging the wild rune within and tosses it into Viktor Face after resisting the lure of the Arcane via blue clouds.
This has two effects.
The first: it Freeze's Time itself. Everyone up in the tower is stuck. trapped in the explosive backlash of time rewinding and running in equal measure. Equal and opposing forces negating one another. we don't see what happens in the other areas or characters. but it's safe to assume since Viktor is spreading the Arcane over Piltover and Zaun connecting with as many people as possible, that they are also frozen in time as well.
The Second: the pause acts like a little bubble allowing one's mind/spirit to still think and talk. As we see Jayce and Victor do in the arcane connection. Since we don't see anyone else speaking with Viktor or Jayce, that may be a small bubble of paused time. Though without experience in the Arcane like Viktor and Jayce, normal people are not likely able to act within the connected space like they do.
Tumblr media
Jayce and Viktor have their Broest bro moment to end all bromances. Revealing Mage!Viktor as both instigator and attempted world saver. who also goes through time again and again giving Jayce different runes with different effects and impacts in the final fight. All in an effort to stop himself from achieving perfection and the dreamless solitude. In the timeline that "succeeds": the rune is "acceleration" as noted by Ekko in episode 7 when he crates the Z-drive in the alternate reality.
The moment, the MOMENT the Acceleration rune meet's Viktor's arcane presence in the connection. There is a surge of energy. Magic moves again. The Z-drive's wild rune magic pulling everyone into the pause, is overpowered by Viktor's power, given a boost by an acceleration of time.
Tumblr media
The people connected to Viktor from the commune accelerate. Faster than Sevika's body could fall. Faster than Ekko can continue falling back from the initial blast. Anything with or connected to Viktor operates at an increased speed.
Tumblr media
Time starts moving again. The stalemate of equal opposing forces is over. Viktor and Jayce, at the head of the initial magical surge, get absorbed by the accelerate motion. They, in their effort to save the world, get sent FORWARD IN TIME. Like a fucking rocket Jayce and Viktor bear the greatest force of accelerated time. Being both close to the initial impact, experienced, and entwined in the Arcane as they are. The magic surges strongest with them.
Tumblr media
For Everyone Else: they resume time normally, perceive it as it was before the pause and acceleration. Jayce and Viktor are far off in the future. But for Ekko and the rest of the world who are far from Acceleration's influence are spared the jump in time because J and V took as much energy as they could into themselves and the rune to save the current world from being displaced in time with them. I base this on how quickly Ekko falls compared to everyone else. Ekko gets 1 second between frozen and body checking the ground. While everyone else gets roughly 2-4 seconds for the same effect to occur.
A visual fact that has been proven over and over with Ekko's character is him always moving or having 4 seconds of action throughout the entire show. So for him to accelerate at four times the speed compared others, leads me to conclude that Jayce and Viktor received an unknown multiplier of fast forwarding, being as they were much closer to the center of the initial arcane energy surge.
Tumblr media
Which there was a second massive surge after time starts to flow again. You accelerate anything it's going to increase energy output by a lot until there is equalization. Again, in the second blast that let's time flow normally, we see the surge in the arcane, the time anomaly Ekko made, then wisps of energy remnants dispersing. In the same flowing style as Viktor's connections were made, they supposedly dissolved but not gone, just blending into the light's in the scenery. Their Central power source (Viktor) is gone. But they are not wholly dissolved, rather they're thin, at rest, dormant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the important part okay. Do you recall back in Season 1 what Heimerdinger told Jayce? What law of force he recited?
"Force = Mass * Acceleration." A modified (and incorrect wording) of Newton's Second Law of Motion.
Arcane's world operates just like ours. Which means the other natural laws: objects in motion, the conservation of energy, all are applicable in the world of Arcane. Bound by these laws, then energy can neither be created, or destroyed. but only Transferred from one form to another!
Jayce and Viktor -being's of great influence, energy, and influence on time itself- cannot be destroyed (otherwise the alternate reality Ekko and Heimerdinger go to wouldn't be possible, Jayce needs to be arrested after all. Mage!Viktor would never exist either if Child Jayce never saw magic being performed or saved him and his mother). Nor can they create something new (They're bound by the rules of nature, and as Heimerdinger's flashbacks suggest: harnessing the arcane through scientific means has been done before, to devastating effect).
Therefor the only recourse remaining, with all factors in play considered, is that they were transferred in time. their energy now a potential to be acted upon in the future. by some other eager scientist, or a natural born mage.
It makes more sense based on the science Arcane utilized, as well as a Marketing standpoint, that Jayce and Viktor appear later in time in a different series when the Arcane is once more in flux. A convenient plot device, and great Arcane influence of the modern era of League.

Artists.
You do not need your Twitter.
Twitter is not the boost you think it is anymore.
I have seen at least 6 people I follow on BlueSky saying they have looked into their numbers and compared to Twitter? BSky gives them over double the exposure and follow through for outside links (probably because Twitter kills your tweet if you have links).
Twitter is testing a feature to allow other users to click a button attached to your posts to put your art into their Grok ai and make ai art with it without your permission automatically.
It is marking non-ai art as being made with Grok (probably to promote it).
You do not need Twitter.
Twitter needs you.
Starve the fuckin thing.

Helpful and Preventative Stretches for Writers, Artists, and Gamers 💪🎨✍🎮
If you type, write, draw, game, or generally use your hands a lot (especially if you’re prone to RSI or Carpal Tunnel!) try these stretches as both a preventative measure, and on the spot relief. Take care of yourself and your body, friends!
Tumblr media
Start with hands up, fingers stretched out.  Stretch your thumb as far as you can over your palm. Hold and repeat 4 times.
Tumblr media
Touch each finger to your thumb. Hold each for 30 seconds. Repeat on each hand 4 times.
Tumblr media
Start with a fist. Open half way, hold for 2 seconds. Stretch fingers out, hold for 2 seconds. Repeat 4 times.
Tumblr media
Start with one arm out, palm up. Pull your fingers back with your other hand. Hold for 10 seconds. Do the same with your other hand. Repeat 4 times
Tumblr media
Start with arms up, palms out. Bend wrists down until you feel the stretch, but keep your fingers loose. Hold 10 seconds. Bend wrist upwards, until you feel it in your wrist and arm. Hold 10 seconds. Repeat 4 times.

I want to talk about this controversy a bit more in depth First for people who may not be able to tell: Lego Monkey Kid was first animated by the Australian studio Flying Bark Productions, which has been around since the 1960's and has a long history of successful local and international commercial work and tv shows. most notionally they worked on Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Marvel's What If..?, a short film I personally love: My Jumper It Roars, among other things.
The studio has had decades to perfect it's style of animation which includes high action sequences, bright color use, motion, and recognizably unique designs. The flow of their scenes is so precise it's down to a science. This studio was the one responsible for Season 1-4 of Lego Monke Kid development. They are particularly skilled in cell animation and blending 2D centered characters/assets into 3D environments.
All of that is on display I think best with the season 3 trailer:
youtube
Now that's not a completely fair comparison to the new studio WildBrain. which is a much younger studio by comparison (Founded back in 2016). But their portfolio is just as visually interesting on it's own. With shows like Carmen Sandiego, Blaze and the Monster Machines, and Ninjago. Their studio specializes in 3D animation, especially styles like Vector Animation, motion graphics, and Screencasting. All beautiful styles and unique in their own right. Most people don't tend to notice the uniqueness of these styles of art, since the graphics move smoothly (if not smoother) than 2D cell animation, but it's incredibly noticeable in the joints of a character's body and the jaw movements.
Now watch the Season 5 trailer, notice how the characters heads move, their limbs are more stiff, the movements of the jaws are more vertically aligned. The conversation between Mei and Red Son show this the most. The multi-headed bird monster also does this, and the look Sun Wukong gives to Macaque shows where the "body parts" are independent from each other.
youtube
Compare the Season 5 trailer to Azure Lion's introduction in the season 4 trailer (00:33-00:56)
youtube
Now I'm never one to disparage artwork. Both styles are fantastic and it's clear Wildbrain is trying to keep up with the work Flying Bark put in. But it's incredibly obvious the Lego Corporation is cutting corners where they can.
And that hurts a show's quality, audience, and customers. By downgrading the animation from it's original studio to a younger (and left be frank here Cheaper) Studio and crew; the company is hoping people will still be interested in their products, and the hype that was there before will keep on track. They are hoping for complacency, "it is what it is", and toxic positivity to carry their business through this budget cut.
Why should I care about a show and toy line when the people financing it are not willing to put their money into making it better, grander?
The animation was the key factor for me to watch the series, to start buying Lego's again. I've known Journey to the West from the early days of anime. But the AU of this internationally important novel is not enough to keep me as a regular viewer, when the company is willing to cut the most visually fun artwork down to paper cutouts.
My argument boils down to my gripe with AI: why should I watch something when it's clear the people green-lighting and Financing the show don't care about it? Why not delay season 5 until Flying Bark studio could commit to more seasons? Movies and Tv shows have been pushed back for more petty reasons that scheduling conflicts.
Tumblr media
Lego Monkie Kid is a product.
I don’t intend to make any more posts of this style for some time, but I’d like to put this out here for everywhere:
(After this, I’ll go back to uploading my usual content. I’m sorry for deviating from that, but I really wanted to make a post or two about season five.)
Lego Monkie is a paid-for product. You can buy it through Amazon, watch it on the Lego Channel with ads, import the comics from China, etc.
You pay for it. It’s not something put into the world for free. It is a product that people consume with their time or money.
It’s not something made with only time and love.
Lego Monkie Kid is a paid-for product with thousands of dollars worth of tie-in merch.
It is not bad; and will never be bad, to criticize the products you consume. We do not have to blindly consume for the sake of animators, or for the sake of a show.
Do not tell people to ‘just be happy’. Do not tell people that ‘the animators are just trying to feed their families’. Do not tell people to ‘just get over it’. Do not tell people that they’re ‘being ungrateful’.
People are allowed to form opinions of changes, whether negative or positive- especially when it is a product they pay for.
People are going to have negative feelings and thoughts and emotions. You are not a knight or a soldier. You get nothing out of standing guard against even the slightest scrap of unhappiness.
Toxic positivity solves nothing in the long run. You can’t just complain people’s upsetness away. You can’t kiss disappointment like a wound and expect it to heal.
People are upset about a downgrade in quality in the product that they pay to consume.
And that’s okay.
Stop telling them it isn’t.
