THWWICH Teaser for 5,000 hits!

I caught it right on the dot this time sweet! Thanks so much to everyone who’s read thwwich, it’s my pride and joy and I love writing it with all my heart.

I unfortunately don’t have anything from chapter 8 ready to include a teaser for, HOWEVER I have included a small snippet from chapter 13 below the cut 😈

Quiet days are the hardest days for Rantaro because his mind tends to wander, tends to get angry.

Anger doesn’t fit well in his body, like a nail squishing through a soggy wooden board, and the unfamiliarity makes it that much harder to tell who he’s angry at exactly. Some days it’s Kokichi. Other days it’s his parents. Sometimes it’s even his sisters. But there’s always that inkling— the pulp lying at the bottom of the barrel— that he’s not mad at any of them, really. That the anger he’s feeling could only be a result of the person he can really blame for everything shitty that’s happened to him in his life:

Himself.

Rantaro has been mopping the same speck of floor for thirty minutes, watching the soapy tendrils snake back and forth, back and forth. No one is in the bar anyway so they can’t be witness to the probably crazy-looking owner staring at the floor as he mindlessly mops. It’s almost closing time, too, leaving him to his thoughts and the purple paint marks on his wall he’ll never get out.

Mocking him.

The twinkling chime of a bell rings and he calls without looking, “Two minutes to closing time, unless it’s a rum and coke I can’t getchya anything—“

Rantaro turns to face his latest customer and his words jump back into his throat. Saihara is standing in the door, yet different than he remembers him being a couple months ago. For one, he’s without the drab hat and dressed in what he assumes is his daily attire with a wrinkled t-shirt and jeans. More importantly, his eyes are muddy, welling with tears he seems to desperately be trying to hold back, and his whole body is shivering uncontrollably.

It’s only one look, but it’s all Rantaro needs.

“Saihara!” Hastily, he props the mop up against the wall and moves toward him, hesitating when Saihara flinches. The guy looks like he could use someone embracing him right about now, but considering Rantaro doesn’t know him that well, he refortifies their distance and asks gently, “Is it, uh… Kokichi?”

A tear slips out of Saihara’s poorly-kept barrier over his eyes and he hastily swipes it away as he nods.

Frown softening, Rantaro withdraws the key to his motorcycle from his jeans pocket and moves for the door. “C’mon, I got a place we can chat without anyone listenin’ in.”

#thwwichphantomthief #Shuichi and Rantaro friendship is one of my fav platonic pairings #so I was itching to include another moment between them #and this is the most important moment no doubt #anyway I did say angst gonna rear its head pretty heavily after 11 lol #this gon be an angsty chapter

07/10/2025 THWWICH Chapter 8 Progress Update:

TLDR: 1K more drafted, at 3K so far.

Decided to add a section at the very beginning that will flesh out what we learned in ch 7. I’m uh not gonna lie, this section is giving me some trouble 🤣 But we’re powering through.

I am going to be taking a pretty sudden vacation so I may not write a ton for about a week. I had some really really bad news today and everything has been uhhh not the best, so I kinda need this 🤣 But you can be certain once this week is over, we’ll get right back to it. Thwwich is my passion and I am constantly thinking about it so rest assured it will continue until it’s over 💪

"Angel or Devil?" 😇😈

I drew them in their demon and angel designs for that Bilibili World 2025 collab three days ago. Angels and demons are such a cool concept to me so I had to draw something for it. I did tweak the designs a bit such as giving them piercings, glittery eye shadow, and gloves.

First fanart for chapter 7 and GOD I cannot express enough how much I love this entire thing. Legitimately Believe is the brains behind the first date setting in this chapter and I had an unbelievably fun time writing in this cafe. I am particularly in awe of the Dutch angle, which is exactly what I wanted to convey what is going on in Kokichi’s head during this scene, despite how much cuteness is around him.

(I have also not stopped screaming about the fucking cat on the fondue pot since I got the sketch lmaoooo it’s my favorite thing in the whole wide world 😖😖😖)
