whumper motivations that go beyond pure sadism

-living out a power fantasy because power has been denied to them in their daily life

-jealousy. whumpee has everything they don’t. whumpee can never do anything wrong. it’s not fair.

-a chronic need for control, driven out of anxiety or insecurity 

-revenge. whumpee hurt them before. this is only fair.

-revenge. but whumper got the wrong person (!!!)

-genuine belief that this is for whumpee’s own good. maybe its medically necessary. maybe it will help them grow stronger.

-masochist whumpee convincing whumper that this is for their own good. whumper is manipulated into helping them self harm

-hurting whumpee will lead to some scientific advancement that will make the world a better place

-whumpee is a sacrificial lamb whose suffering will keep everyone else safe from a larger threat

-whumper had a morbid curiosity and couldn’t restrain themselves any longer

-whumper wants to impress someone else

-the both of them are putting up a front for other people. this is the only way to keep both of them safe.

-maintaining brand integrity. whumpee and whumper represent the same group, and whumpee is doing it wrong.

-whumpee is perceived as more dangerous than they are/requiring more restraints than they actually need

-whumpee has something valuable and the only look way to get it is through hurting them

-whumper is younger and privileged and doesn’t know any better. they’re cruel in the way kids are cruel.

“Hey, there… our doctor needs to take a look at you, okay? Don’t worry, nothing will happen. Just need to make sure you’re not hurt too much, before we go somewhere safer. I’ll stay with you, nothing bad will happen.”

wip of Gage's birthday piece,, 2025 is 10 years of Gage as an OC! he was created in May of 2015, but his canon birthday is July 8 🖤

in canon he's an illustrator and art streamer, with Drew's supervision. urban grit remains his biggest inspiration in his art, and his illustrations are muted cries for help.

but Gage feels freest with a can of spraypaint, expressing himself without restriction, without supervision, without fear on the walls of buildings in Worley. street art is Gage's art; he finds power in it.

no but I love it when a recovering character has to be restrained as a cover-up. when caretaker or leader needs the facade of bringing them in, so they clasp the handcuffs closed, carefully avoiding the long since scarred wounds on their wrists. that lingering pity when whumpee takes a shaky breath and lets it happen. ropes loose enough to break if they panic, thick chains that drag for the show of it. and a whumpee, who wants to be brave, to be strong, just... can't. who forgets where they are; shuts down; expression sinking to despaired nothingness as the locks click into place.

Whumpee is slapped at every point when they try to explain or argue their point by Whumper. They are hit so often that they automatically close their eyes in the middle of speaking. This has become an issue, after their captivity. Any time they so much as slightly stand up for themself, they close their eyes tightly and brace for impact. Caretaker is horrified and tries to explain that they would NEVER lay a hand on Whumpee. But they made the mistake of raising their hand as they speak and Whumpee immediately flinches and falls back, expecting the swift slap. The quick pain. The disorientation. Caretaker watches in horror. How can they prove that they would never hurt their Whumpee?

“You think I had a say in how I was fucking tortured?”

I love blankets in whump. A freezing cold, sopping wet, aching, pathetic, feverish whumpee being ushered inside and wrapped in the biggest, softest, warmest blanket and carried over to the sofa to rest by the fire. Yeah that's it thanks guys.

Some restraint prompts!

Hands tied together in front of whumpee's back or in front!

Hands put above whumpee's head. Right above? Spread apart?

Hands tied tight to the body.

All in a net (merwhump?)

Magically restrained in an invisible way. Compulsion, stunning, pain if whumpee tries to escape...

Ankles bound together with minimal slack.

Rope? Metal? Leather? Plastic? Some sort of sci fi or magical hard light?

Complex shibori style knots that're meant to be humiliating or simple and practical.

Completely unnecessary collars.

Chained to something! A wall? A throne?

Tight enough to almost cut off circulation?

Seemingly excessive amounts of restraints for someone small. Is it really unnecessary?

Tie up your whumper! Are they really defeated? What are they telling the supposedly victorious whumpee from their position of "weakness"?

Miel a transmasc masochist, in a relationship with Stan, who is both his rescuer and his abuser. Miel's perception of Stan is marked by Stockholm Syndrome in Stan's mixed expressions, and his planted masochist streak leads him never to question any of his treatment, even when it sends him to hell. as long as the man who saved and broke and shaped and loved him is there when he comes back, he'll be okay. it's been way too long since i posted my boy. uncensored on my other socials!! i also have a storyboard for him in progress ehehe (when you accidentally upload the full res uncensored version......)

whumpee exhausted and on pain meds after a terrible experience, mumbling things that only halfway make sense to caretaker. caretaker smiles tiredly and strokes their forehead, and just tells them they can go to sleep.

The soft "oh" that comes from a caretaker after the whumpee does something extra pitiful - stumbles and has to cling to the wall with a shaking hand so tightly their knuckles turn white; makes the smallest, saddest sound after a bad coughing fit; lets out a few silent tears with their lips clamped tight together....oh, it's that bad, isn't it, baby?
