“This doesn’t make any sense” tag game
Tagged by the ever lovely @dreamsofbooksandmonsters who i have missed immensely. Thank you for tagging me in this, I love it!!!
Rules: Find the first sentence of your WIP that contains each of these words: ‘this’ ‘doesn’t’ ‘make’ ‘any’ ‘sense’. Post them in order as if they’re a single excerpt.
“Let us get this over with then, Sir Knight.”
“See that it doesn’t,” Alderon snapped.
“I would like to make a deal. You won’t lay a hand on any of Santh’s people again.”
Alderon supposed that made sense.

This Titan was resting but he did not sleep.
“Just because you’re my big sister doesn’t mean you can pry information from my head like I’m one of your ‘desperately seeking seer’ clients.” Elodie wanted to push, wanted to make room for this argument regardless of how uncomfortable it made him.
“Have you thought any more on your choice?” She knew that they could sense her every emotion, every memory, every dream.

Find the Word
@she-writes-love tagged me to find 4 words: reason, believe, encourage and dream. I know this was forever ago BUT HERE I AM ten minutes late with starbucks. This is all from my rewrite of The Moon’s Song.
Reason:
“I wish to speak with you.” He had no reason to stall.
Odra studied him, before jerking her head, inviting him closer. Sweeping his cloak behind him, Alderon closed the distance. Odra’s gray-streaked head was level with his and, up this close, he saw the fractals of gold in her eyes catching the watery gray light above.
Believe:
The door swung inward, and Odra stepped inside. “You are welcome in.”
Alderon said nothing as he stepped across the threshold. He suspected Odra knew he didn’t need to be welcomed into a home to enter it, but he wasn’t about to offer up the information willingly. Let the villagers believe whatever myths they wanted.
Encourage:
“How old are you?” Garrick asked incredulously.
This time Alderon did growl. “Frankly, that is none of your business.” Bad enough he’d even let an ounce of his defenses down; he would not encourage Garrick asking personal questions.
“Sorry, Lord Alderon.”
The silence fell thick and uncomfortable. Garrick’s heartbeat thudded loud in his head and he winced at the pain that rose out of nowhere. He looked away, scowling. It was hard to get used to a human living with him. Every little movement, every little breath, the creak of footsteps on flagstones and scrape of fingers against walls—he wanted to silence it. And yet it was the most blessed distraction he’d had in a long time.
Dream:
Alderon stood, more than ready to return to a well-loved book back at the manor. “Di uko.” Finished and sealed.
The others stood with him and led him to the door. He listened to the small breaths of the little ones—well, not so little anymore. The house breathed with them, lulling them to their dreams, protecting them from danger.
His life for theirs.
“May the night welcome you, Lord Alderon,” Odra said as he stepped out their door. Her voice was neutral, but the relief in her face unmistakable.
"And may the day walk with you,” he replied. It felt like goodbye. It was a goodbye. He wasn’t sure if he was happy or sad for it, but he knew Odra would no more miss him than miss a venomous snake that had bitten her child.
Always love this tag game, thank you <3

Tag Game: Find Word
I was tagged by @the-write-to-cry to find doubt,  daze, everything, and shake.
Doubt:
I grip the sliver of celestial metal in my pocket and follow a long hallway until I get to a small room towards the back of the church. And slip inside. Hopefully the Nephilim will leave me alone.
The room was a bedroom, perhaps for a pastor or priest of some kind. I lock the door before going to sink to the ground by the far back wall. I highly doubt the lock on the door could protect against much but if Ambrose were here, he would have reamed me for not having my weapons, let alone be outside so close to dark.
I let out a steady breath and centered myself. I didn’t need to be worrying about my ghosts when there was an angel on the other side of the door. He could kill me easily.
Daze:
Ash whistles sharply; once. “Stop gawking and come on. Your father is not a patient male.”
I start ahead, in a daze as something in me is being called forward, beckoning, coaxing. I barely feel myself move and I barely feel Nathaniel’s hand on my lower back. “Like calls to like,” he says softly, his words nothing more than a whisper against the shell of my ear. “Part of you knows that is your home, no matter what your mind is telling you. The heart always knows.”
Everything:
Everything comes crashing to a halt as Baylor’s eyes meet mine. They are disgusted and partially afraid, though the fear is drowned out by the anger.
I have known about the betrothal for the last two years and knew that if Baylor were to pass Judgement, we would be wed. And any of the good graces I have earned from Baylor, they disappeared in a second.
Shake:
Her eyes go to my neck, to the bite that had healed; to my mouth, as if she can see the sharp canines. “Oh,” she breathes.
Oh. Oh.
“What the hell does ‘Oh’ mean Connie!”
Thunder shakes the small shop and Connie looks up at the ceiling and I swear fear creeps in her eyes. “You need to calm down,” she says firmly, lowering her eyes to me. “This demon that bit you, what did he look like?”
I didn’t think I would find these words for some reason lmao. But!! I’m glad I did!!!
I tag @incandescent-creativity @kclenhartnovels @knightedwriter to find reason, believe, encourage and dream

High Impact Questions Tag Game
Tagged forever ago by the amazing @sirilikestowrite thank u <3
What are the themes in your story/current WIP?
The Moon’s Song is all about choosing to be a better person and the hardships of that path. It’s also about finding family.
Death’s Name is about identity: who we are, what defines us, and how our choices can change us.
Contact is about grief and regret, and how hard it can be to overcome both.
Why does your novel/current WIP matter and in whose voice is it explained?
So many reasons tbh. I feel like redemption arcs are so poorly done in fiction; I see a lot of stories that victimize a villain trying to change and these stories refuse to challenge their character and actually make them redeem themselves. I want to write hopeful stories, where people make that long, hard journey and show that it can be done. I want stories where the queer people aren’t death fodder for the plot. Actually scratch that: any marginalized group. I want stories where we triumph.
Where would your readers find your current WIP in a physical bookstore?
Adult or teenage fantasy possibly?
Thanks again for the tag and sorry it took 5 billion years XD

OC Interview
I was tagged by @forlornraven thanks friend!
An interview with her fave, Nikon, as requested.
1. How are you doing today?
I’m alright. A bit tired, to tell you the truth. I was at one of Aeton’s parties last night.
2. You ready to answer some questions?
Oh…um… sure, I guess. What do you want to know?
3. How do you feel about your last name?
There’s honour and tradition in being a Vaero. But also a lot of responsibility. I don’t know if I can handle it, if I even want it. But I’ll try. It’s what Artax would have wanted.
4. Is there anything you’d like to thank your author for?
Aeton.
5. You can only eat three foods for the rest of your life, what are they?
Is fish one food or do I have to say what kind? Oh, I can’t choose. I’ll just say fish. Right! Three! Ok… so I said fish… also grapes and olives. Aeton hates olives so he always gives them to me. That makes me love them.
6. Have you ever done or said anything that surprised your author?
The fire came as a surprise. To everyone.
7. You have limitless funds, what kind of party are you going to have?
Do I have to? Aeton is the one who throws all the parties. I’d rather have a quiet meal with friends.
8. Tell us a quick story about something that’s happened to you that not even your author knows about… yet.
Well, she knows about the fire. She knows it happened, that I got burned. She doesn’t know how it happened or what I saw. What I think I saw, anyway.
9. Do you have a favourite hero?
Artax was my hero
10. What do you plan to do after this?
Go back to bed. I’m a little hungover.
For this I tag @knightedwritertags @paper-shield-and-wooden-sword @hawksnbooks

OC Interview Tag
Tagged forever ago by the lovely @theimportanceofbeingbookish. I’ll do this one for Laethe too since I’m in her head tonight.
1. How are you doing today?
I don’t really want to talk about it.
2. You ready to answer some questions?
What sorts of questions? I don’t really know much about myself at the moment.
3. How do you feel about your last name?
I don’t know it. My first name isn’t even Laethe, that’s just what they decided to call me. And before you ask, I don’t know my real first name either.
4. Is there anything you’d like to thank your author for?
Given what I’ve been through, no.
5. You can only eat three foods for the rest of your life, what are they?
Um, for some reason onion soup comes to mind. The kind made with wild onions and herbs. Weird. I don’t even remember having something like that.
As for the other two...well I enjoyed the boar I had at the castle. And fresh fruits are always nice to have.
6. Have you ever done or said anything that surprised your author?
For some reason, she never expected me to be so brash. Like how I stood up to those undead monsters after just waking up.
7. You have limitless funds, what kind of party are you going to have?
Well, if the war was over and everything was peaceful, I’d probably have a big outdoor festival. Lots of bonfires and lanterns, tons of people drinking and laughing, and my inner group of friends by my side. Given how many people wouldn’t be able to come, I’m not sure it’d be all that great of a party.
8. Tell us a quick story about something that’s happened to you that not even your author knows about… yet.
Well I don’t think even she knows exactly what happened to me before I lost my memories. Wish I could tell you about it. I get the feeling I don’t want to know.
9. Do you have a favourite hero?
Yes. They’re dead.
10. What do you plan to do after this?
Return to my watch. Hell if I’m gonna let anything happen to the people I have left.
Oooo boy okay so Laethe would 100% kill me irl. @incandescent-creativity, @rrrawrf-writes, @gingerly-writing, y’all want to get into this?
