Pussyfooting is officially over, after a sold out (!!) evening at Camden People’s Theatre - we just about managed to squeeze in extra chairs, and had a wonderful send off. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this summer, and don’t forget to check out our blog pussyfootingpower.tumblr.com for a look at the stories we collected along the way ~

We’ve launched a pussyfooting blog with every answer we’re given to the question “when was the last time you felt powerful?” Peruse for an interesting journey through what it means to be powerful, with new stories appearing every day for the next month, as well as full details of the play itself. (psst - there’s even a chance to tell us your own story)

The Nether is now on sale!!
We may be in the middle of pussyfooting, but it’s too exciting to not mention!
2nd-5th November, Oxford Playhouse (CLICK HERE)
~
Welcome to The Nether – an alluring virtual wonderland in which you can build, act out and succumb to your wildest fantasies. A young detective launches an investigation into a server dedicated to a disturbing brand of entertainment, as a little girl plays in an idyllic country garden.
This “gripping and deeply disconcerting look at the internet” (Telegraph) was nominated for the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Play. An intricate and compelling sci-fi thriller, The Nether follows an investigation grappling with paedophilia, loneliness and the spiralling moral anxieties of a society increasingly reliant on digital technology.
This new student production is one of the very first regional performances of this critically acclaimed play – a viciously modern story set in an alarmingly possible future.

we need your help!
GOFUNDME PAGE (hyperlinked)
PUSSYFOOTING is a play about womanhood, gender, transness, and not fitting. It is a play made with love, by a group of young theatremakers based in Oxford. A cross between sketch theatre and verbatim, with a bit of laughter thrown in, pussyfooting is a play built from interviews and workshops with women and trans folk (and even a few men) from across the country.
We are the Oxford University Drama Society’s 2016 ‘National Tour’. We were also shortlisted for the Charlie Hartill Special Reserve at the Pleasance, and described by the board as “a company with a huge amount of promise”. This is a project we have been working on for over a year, and is currently being redevised with a new cast and new stories. But we need your help. Performing at Edinburgh Fringe is notoriously expensive, and we are also going to Manchester! There are venue hires, publicity costs, the registration fee, plus production costs themselves, and then there's accommodation and travel. In total, we have predicted the tour will cost £9000. Our work is built on inclusivity. We have been able to raise funds to cover most of the production costs, but we still have some way to go. Additionally, we are all students, most of whom have little source of income. The tour and rehearsals total 2 months of time out of summer, meaning that for some, being able to participate without financial worry is difficult. Any money we raise from this page will go towards remaining production costs, including public workshops in Manchester and our Edinburgh venue hire fee, and help subsidise the accommodation costs for cast members. Having a play made by women, trans and queer folk, picked for the prestigious tour and representing Oxford University is huge, as well as having the chance to share and grow this work. It is a project, not just a play, and this means continued public development, interaction, and collaboration outside of the show itself. With your help, we will be able to dedicate ourselves to engaging in these discussions, and stage a performance interrogating gender on a national platform. Please help us in whatever way you are able, even just by sharing this post or our page - we are extremely thankful. WEBSITE ~ TWITTER ~ FACEBOOK

PUSSYFOOTING
Built from interviews and workshops with women and trans folk from across the country, we bring you a collaged exploration of how it is to live in a gendered body. What is womanhood, and what happens when you don’t fit?
We are the Oxford University Drama Society’s 2016 National Tour. Shortlisted for the Charlie Hartill Special Reserve at the Pleasance, and described by the board as “a company with a huge amount of promise”, Knotworks brings you a reworking of their sell out show, the culmination of a year long project.

News
We’ve been voted in as this year’s OUDS National Tour - pussyfooting, redevised, will be travelling to Manchester and Edinburgh this summer, with locations tba.
Last week pussyfooting was shortlisted for the Charlie Hartill Special Reserve at the Pleasance Theatre, with Knotworks chosen from young companies across the country. We had an amazing time in London showcasing our work - we look forward to watching the winning production in August. Our feedback - “There were some really fantastic moments in the extract and the company all worked incredibly well together as an ensemble, something that is really hard to achieve… whilst ultimately we haven’t brought you forward to the next round we think you’re a company with a huge amount of promise.”
We’ve also been successful in bidding for the Oxford Playhouse - The Nether by Jennifer Haley will be staged this autumn. More information to follow!
