So, I’m listening to the Crescent City dramatic audio books, and I keep getting thrown off. Some of the supporting voice cast is the same as the ACOTAR dramatic audio books, and after attributing those voices to the image of the ACOTAR characters in my mind, it’s jarring to attribute them to Crescent City characters.
The biggest one is Micah the Archangel - Same voice actor as Lucien. There are a few others too.
Did anyone else notice this?

ACOTAR World Building and the "Tiffany Problem"
One of the things that I always see with the ACOTAR fandom, is using Feyre's sweaters as part of the evidence of SJM's lack of consistent world building. Don't get me wrong, I agree that there is inconsistent worldbuilding, and that it should be way more fleshed out.
However, the sweaters are actually an example of the "Tiffany Problem."
The Tiffany Problem is a phenomena in fantasy/historical literature where something seems modern, and so it pulls the reader out of the story. However, just as the name Tiffany has been used since the middle ages, the item in question is actually historic as well.
Sweaters have been in use since the 16th century, at least. So yes, in a medieval-ish world...a main character could wear thick socks, some form of leggings, and a sweater. The 1500s is more Renaissance than Medieval, but...for modern readers, it wouldn't really change much.
The real issue with the world building is how SJM words it. Instead of saying anachronistic terms such as "sweater and leggings" she could have said, "Thick, warm, cozy, woolen, knit, oversized tunic and hose."
Ultimately, it's the same thing. But, it keeps the reader in the world.

Hey Millennial readers...do you read ACOTAR, and automatically "age up" the characters in your head? Do you wish there was a fun romantasy with great world building, addicting characters, and fantasy politics? Then I suggest the "Discovery of Witches" series by Deborah Harkness.
Diana is a 30 year old witch trying to break into the field of Human Academia, with her powers mysteriously affected to become useless and unpredictable.
She meets Matthew, the vampire geneticist on a quest to use science to figure out while the paranormal life on earth is slowly dying out.
They find themselves working against the paranormal "governments" to crack the code before time runs out...and fall in love along the way.
Not Fae, but still a great urban fantasy series! I totally recommend! I love ACOTAR, but in my head, I definitely age Feyre up to at least 25. The character descriptions of the male characters makes them seem to appear at least late 20s...so it seems odd to me that Rhys would go for a 19 year old?
If anyone has anymore recommendations for romantasy with a slightly older female protagonist, let me know! :)

“You like me because I’m a scoundrel.”
I’m so excited to share this commission of Feysand as Star Wars’ very own Han and Leia! When I reached out to @punkzcakes, they absolutely DELIVERED, capturing not only the concept, but Feyre and Rhysand’s personalities SO perfectly. Just look at her little scowl and his smirk — they truly embody our favorite rebel princess and legendary pilot 🪐
Thank you @punkzcakes — you are so talented and an absolute joy to work with!
Art by @punkzcakes and commissioned by me. Do not repost on any platforms, please, and consider checking out the artist’s blog and Instagram!

The adhd modes of food
1. You ate that burger so fast. You ate that burger so fucking fast and now the whole Red Robin is staring at you god what the fuck
2. You started eating like a normal person, but then you started talking or daydreaming and now the waitress is handing you the check but you’ve still got half a plate of cold fettuccine
3. You were going to go out to eat, but then you saw a video in your YouTube recommendation that drew you towards it like moth to a flame, and now it’s 10 pm and you’ve got an empty bag of tortilla chips in your hand and shame in your heart
4. Mac And Cheese

I don’t post original content often on tumblr. Most of the time, I just reblog. But, for anyone that sees this post, and is interested in true crime, I highly recommend this story. This is the story Ted Bundy from the perspective of a close family member. It’s available for pre-order now, and will release in July. I’m excited to read it as well!
