Repost @nbucklesphoto ・・・ Couple of days ago I finally made it to Venice Rookery in Venice, Florida. Rookery is on a small island in a pond at a park. There is a nice walking trail around the lake and by the time I arrived there were many photographers with huge lenses pointing their lens at all the birds nesting there. I have been to other rookeries in Florida but this is a first where so many different kinds of birds are nesting in a very small area. Here is one of the great egret and it’s chicks .. these chicks are about medium size in growth and size. Some chicks nearby were still so tiny and some ready to fledge. I had no idea how varied their nesting timings were. I will post more photos from the rookery in the near future.
