Which was your favorite fanfic reviews?

All of them! I can’t pick one, I couldn’t pick one no matter how hard I tried. I’ve been extremely lucky as a fanfiction writer because most of the stories I wrote were filled with drama and despair, with death and anguish and every story I wrote, I wrote because I needed it out of my system and people have somehow enjoyed my complete and total lack of happy endings. The most recent examples I can offer are the final chapters of Debris – I posted them and braced myself for all sorts of negative comments but the reviews were good and the messages were good and, trust me, I was 100% terrified of posting those chapters, I even considered changing them, but deep down I knew I couldn’t. That was how I wanted the story to end and my readers supported me. That meant the world to me.

But even if I can’t pick a specific review, I can pick a specific reviewer: @staringatstarsblog – you see, a while back, I wrote this fic, Variations on a theme (Overwatch) and boy, how I waited for those reviews. I would stop doing whatever it was that I was doing to read them. Always so in-depth and meaningful, always so challenging – those were more than reviews, those were like… entire encyclopedias on our favorite characters, entire debates with hypothesis and postulates and premises and… I remember I would always read those reviews and I would smile broadly, and, in my mind, I would feel that sort of invisible connection and I would welcome that challenge, you know? Many, many times I found myself writing very specific portions of a given chapter trying to somehow anticipate our next exchange but then I would read the review and boom! It was so much richer than what I had anticipated.

That exchange was a wholesome experience. The kind of experience every fanfic writer should have. It was magical, that’s the word – because we never really talked to each other, but she was there with me the whole time I was writing. It’s hard to explain, really, because writing is basically an act of solitude but thanks to her, I never felt alone while writing that fic.

Headcanons for the OW boys w/ a s/o who's always wanting to play w/ their hair?

Let’s see… 

Jesse loves it and would definitely fall asleep like a child but Jack has always been rather uncomfortable with it. Genji used to love it but now, not so much. Hanzo craves it but it takes a lot for him to feel like he’s ready to open up and share any sort of intimacy with anyone - even the smallest act can be too much for him. Both Lúcio and Jamison enjoy it in the most innocent way possible. Reinhardt would blush at the thought but hey, he’s not really complaining, right? Baptiste finds it endearing – it reminds him of his mom.
