Applejack x Rarity angst + Appledash

Disclaimer: English is not my first language, sorry if it isn't perfect, I just wanted to write angsty horses

Rarity had to make sure everything was perfect, the ribbons sewn, the dress elegant but not too much, Applejack wouldn’t like it that way, the only reason she was wearing a dress was because she wanted to wear a replica of her mother’s wedding dress. Rarity had recreated it the best that she could for Applejack’s strong body type.

— Ah, Everything must be simply perfect! If not it would be a disaster! — She was running around her boutique, magic flowing through her horn as she tried different things on the dress, using the photo of Applejack’s mother wedding as a reference. In that moment the door opened and a cheerful Applejack entered the scene, she was wearing her iconic hat and a big smile on her face.

— Rarity, sugarcube, calm down… It’s perfect just like that — Rarity stopped running around and got closer to the earth pony, hugging her tightly.

— Applejack, dear! I cannot help myself! It must be perfect, it’s your wedding after all!

Applejack came closer to the dress and inspected it, it was simply gorgeous. She looked at the photo and then back to the dress, a nostalgic smile on her face. She could feel tears forming in her eyes from the emotion of seeing that dress come to life, it was like if her mother was there.

— It’s simply marvelous, Rarity, Is it ready? May I try it on? — Rarity nodded and took the dress with her magic, helping Applejack to put it on.

After some minutes of rustling with the dress and accessories, it was done. Applejack let her hair loose, her curls flowing freely. Rarity stood there marvelled at the sight of Applejack’s precious figure. She was gorgeous, her hair was scruffy from working on the farm, but she still looked incredible even like that. The dress really fit her strong body type, the fabric flowed perfectly through the ground, it was… Like a fairy tale.

— Applejack, you look… — She was interrupted by the earth pony.

— You really outdid yourself with this one, Rarity… It’s just the same as my ma’s dress — Tears were flowing freely from her eyes but she quickly dried them with her hoof — I wish she could see me like this… Thank you, sugarcube.

Rarity smiled and gave Applejack a big hug, being careful to not form any creases on the dress.

A creak filled the room as the door opened, a joyful Rainbow Dash entered the room, Rarity ran to the front to hide Applejack.

— Rainbow Dash! Don’t you know how to knock? If you see the bride with the dress before the wedding it would be a disaster! — Rainbow opened her wing and hid her face, turning bright red.

— I’m sorry! I’m sorry! Geez! I didn’t know! I just wanted to try on my suit!

— Shu, shu, out of here until Applejack is out of that dress — She pushed Rainbow out of there, closing the door behind her — Mhm, such bad manners.

Applejack laughed and began taking off the dress, she gave the clothes and accessories to Rarity, who quickly placed it on the mannequin and carried it to another room. Once that was done they let Rainbow inside.

Rainbow Dash got closer to Applejack and they both shared a kiss, all while Rarity looked at them with… A hint of sadness in her eyes, she knew she shouldn’t feel that way but she just couldn’t help it. Her story with Applejack had been a long time ago, in high school, they were high school sweethearts until a fight broke between them and Rarity broke up with Applejack. Still she couldn’t help having those feelings for her, feelings that kept coming up all the time she saw her. She looked up, Rainbow and Applejack were sharing a soft and nurturing gaze, it was too late, and she knew that.

At least she could participate in the wedding, help her friends make that day the best day ever, she would be there for her friends, always.

But her heart was filled with envy and jelousy… She wished to be the one embraced by Applejack, the one that was getting married to her. She knew it wasn’t right, but no one could control their feelings, Right?

She hushed those thoughts away and talked to both mares.

— Applejack, now it’s your turn to leave, None of you must see each other with your outfits! Come on, Out! Out!

Rainbow and Applejack laughed and shared a last kiss before the earth pony left the boutique.

— Ah… I really hope the suit fits… This baby is killing me, I feel huge, can’t even fly anymore, Twilight didn’t tell me the spell would replicate a real pregnancy so well���

Rarity smiled.

— Don’t worry dear! I can fix it up in a moment if it doesn’t! — She took the suit out of a room with a fake smile on her face, everything would be alright… She just had to smile through her pain and swallow those feelings up.

She would do it for her friends.
