So I want to share my alterhuman journey to hopefully inspire others to explore alterhumanity and get my story out there. I have always been a dog. It’s been in my mind since I was very young. The first thing I wanted to do when younger was shapeshift into an animal (to escape school mostly). I refused to play any game I couldn’t be the dog. Maybe it was a furry thing? I thought that for a while. But I had always felt like a dog. It was my heart soul and mind. Years passed and I never questioned it much. I learnt dog vocals, how to walk on four legs, and acted like a dog going into middle school. I came to identify as a furry around that time and slowly and watched plenty of Tik Tok compilations of specific communities. Entering high school I learnt about the therian community and first thought it was odd before learning to respect and support it. That’s all it was. I was so deep in denial I was a therian. (Same way I was in denial about being trans.) I got some species dysphoria such as wanting claws, fur, a tail, animal ears. But I was so deep in denial I ignored the signs. Going into the summer I started to discover what I truly was while a friend of mine went through the same thing. I questioned if I was a mained wolf, a red panda, a wolf, before landing on a dog. After some self discovery I figured out I was a dog in my past life, a service dog. To figure out what kind of dog I looked at the potential candidates of dog breeds that are trained to be service animals. I had this vision in my head of a fluffy dog with brownish fur, mixed colors, loppy ears. I came to discover I was a border collie. Figuring out I was a raccoon was easy after realizing my behavior aligned more with that of a trash panda than a red panda. Figuring out I was fictionkin and otherkin just came more naturally the more I saw the signs.

Now that I think more about it that is true, and if I observe Monster High for example they have a similar premise. Thank you for your input. I just wonder if some of them could still be considered human if they all came from humans.

I’m like one of ten mature people in the Zombies fandom (the rest are like five 😭). And while the movies aren’t the greatest I genuinely love that the zombies represent chronic illness or a disability in some way. Like the Z bands are like monitors to keep them stable since they have a limit of control over themselves and are normal. I know they’re supposed to be their own race but they’re all disabled in my head. I just wish the ‘monsters’ weren’t called monsters and just considered people.
