I went to a revolving sushi restaurant last night, and after you deposit so many empty plates into a slot at your table, you can win a prize from the gacha machine. So of course I imagined Tanya & Roger there, and Roger just keeps eating as many plates as he can to win Tanya the best prize.

Tanya: "Mr. Berkman, you can stop now, I don't need the shrimp-shaped keychain."

Roger: (stuffing another piece of sushi into his mouth) "But you said it looked cute."

Tanya: "You're not gonna have room for taiyaki ice cream if you keep this up."

Roger: "I'll just fit it in my second stomach, hand me that plate of unagi."

I wanted to write the scene where Roger confesses his past to Tanya in a way that wasn't just "Oh, you've changed as a person." Roger is tragic but he's not blameless. Tanya accepts not just who he's become but all of him, because he wouldn't be the Roger she knows if he hadn't made those mistakes.

We know that's not true, Roger. But Tanya loves you anyway. 💛💖

It should be acceptable to scratch under the chin of a man with stubble not unlike that of how you'd scratch a cat's chin.
