It's that famous saying in my country: those who live always show up again.

I felt like I owed an explanation for my disappearance, so I decided to make this post.

A few people know, but this past month I was traveling with my family and got back just a few days before the start of the new semester at my college. So everything has been extremely stressful and exhausting, and I think it took a toll on my mental health, since I barely had time to adjust to all the changes. I won’t lie—I’m mentally drained, and I took (and will probably extend) a few days off from any social media. I don’t think it’s the best way to deal with things, but it has been helping me avoid feeling overwhelmed with all the information and events happening in the world recently.

I’m slowly recovering from this exhaustion and hope to get back on track soon. I miss drawing and talking with the amazing people I’ve met here.

New PFP

It’s been a (really good) while since the last time I actually sat down to draw something exclusively for myself, and since today I barely had time to work on other projects, I decided to treat myself with a new profile picture and retire my old one, which has been… 2 years since it was drawn? Something like that. Also, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Happy Holidays!!!

Jockey Training

After ups and downs, I finally finished this piece, and I’ll definitely need a few days off after everything that’s happened this week. But anyway. I’m terrible with backgrounds, so forgive me for these stumps I dared to call branches and leaves. This artwork could fit into two chapters, but I believe it matches with Chapter 12 of Dog Days of Summer better. Donatello’s face turned out so adorable that even my mom thought he was cute, and she never finds any male character I draw to be adorable/cute, so points for Bay Donnie’s charm \o/ @adebauchedsloth I'm tagging you, because yes, deal with it.

So many emotions in one day, oh my god.

But after countless attempts, I finally managed to make some art of Bayverse Donatello.

I don’t think it looks much like him, but it’s the best I could do after a good, long 5 hours just trying to sketch something. Bayverse Donatello is my favorite version of Donnie, and it felt only right to base this piece on one of the chapters from Dog Days of Summer.

I’ve been following @adebauchedsloth’s incredible work with this fanfic for a while now, and it feels fair to try making some art for it.

Maybe it wasn’t the most complex scene, and maybe I didn’t quite capture the expressions perfectly, but I still have a long way to go to learn how to work with the Bayverse boys. I’ll keep trying to improve a little more with each new piece.

After a long time, I finally received my (late) autism diagnosis.

It wasn’t exactly a surprise to me, but it definitely helped me better understand certain aspects of myself and accept that my perspective on life is different from a neurotypical person’s and that this isn’t necessarily a problem with me.

I still have a lot to learn about myself, and I think getting this diagnosis was a step in the right direction!

Temporarily retiring

Just dropping by to let you know I’ll probably take a few days off from any kind of art since drawing is such an exhausting process.

I wanted to use this time away from art to give my tired mind a break, but unfortunately, I’m still in the middle of finals week and need to study. So, it’s very likely that the art from my last post will be my last piece for the year.

Warning: Blood, Injuries, and Tell Me I'm Wrong Spoilers

God, this took forever, but I finally finished it!

As usual, I think anyone who’s seen some of my posts already knows this, but I’m absolutely obsessed with @wolffeay's fanfic ''Tell me I'm wrong", and I’m always making art about these two stubborn idiots, Naels and Donatello. And today is no different.

A huge shoutout to my friends Bakku, Sato, and Ash for all the support and help, this project wouldn’t have come to life without them. And of course, to Feay, for always hyping up my crazy ideas and for writing this amazing fanfic that I’ve been following for two years now. (Honestly, me and this fic have been in a relationship longer than some couples out there)

Also, all the credit for the video animation goes to Sato. He totally carried me on his back and helped me out after I spent days struggling with After Effects. Since he doesn’t have a Tumblr and all his social media is private, I’ll make sure to pass along any compliments about the video directly to him.

(The video effects and audio editing was on me, by the way!)

Brand New Chapter

The peak of bad luck is today being my only truly free day, and everything I tried to do just made me mad and gave me a headache.

I tried to finish one of my 3 art pieces, and I was this close to throwing all 3 files in the trash, turning my back, and saying “That’s it, there’s gonna be a chapter without art, who cares.” Then I tried to finish chapter 3, at most, I managed to write one tiny sentence at the end of a WIP scene. Then I thought, “I’m not feeling creative today, so I’ll try to get ahead on my college stuff.” Hahaha, yeah right! Didn’t manage to get anything done.

Moral of the story: When I try to be productive, nothing works out.
