CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
My sweets, my darlings —
send me poetry of twisting vines,
the kind that, unsupervised, will replace my spine
and turn me into a screaming marionette.
Darkness is calling.
Take your pen and see what horror lies
within your ribs, between your lips, and let it fly…
It will reach me through this dark mirror, I promise.
My sweets, my darlings —
darkness is calling.

A Call to Writers
Hear me, all spinners of soft, creeping horror, the summoners of wicked beasts that rise from paper and ink, and correspondents of the damned!
I am in need of stories. Your stories.
Tumblr media
The Undead Poets Society has requested me to perform another tale that will make their bones shake with terror and delight. Send me your stories so together we can send more delightful nightmares into the miasma of the sunlit world.
Don’t hide your hellfire under a bushel.
If you have a wonderfully twisted story to share, please look here to make sure that what you have is acceptable to my ghouls. They can be so horrible bureaucratic about these things.
Reach out to my ghouls so they may deliver your tales of blood, monsters, curses, wicked elves, and suspect shadows to me.

What I wouldn’t give to be Vincent Price’s concubine...
Oh, oh my! I go so distracted daydreaming that I’ve let the ghostwriters get out again. Silly things. I’ll have to chain them down with extra heavy typewriters next time.

Roger Corman’s tongue-in-cheek adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe poem, The Raven – featuring Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre at their comic best, as competing sorcerers drawn into a spectacular showdown when the wife of one becomes the concubine of another – cast a spell in theaters on January 25, 1963.
