ART FIGHT IN ONE MONTH????

once again abandoning WIPs to start new ones

this time I'm vibing to some of Sleep Token's new music and trying to get a feeling down

this is one of a couple but of those, this one is flowing better so it gets to be shown off.

It's nice in a way to see that even in the WIP stage this is resonating with some, even if it's not a fun thing to be relating to. Maybe it's part of being a burnt-out adult in today's landscape of, well, everything going on, but the fact that it's not just me is oddly comforting.

robot thing? aimless doodling, toying with a memory of a robot thing I doodled years ago

while I am basically forbidden from doing actual art right now (thank you fucked-up shoulder that makes even rotating my torso/turning my head hurt, and trying to manage a drawing surface is out of the question right now) I'm casually looking up various lists of virtues from religious/philosophical sources for... reasons :v

there are a lot :v one source claimed 64 and I guess it depends on where you're looking, but it seems like that's a fair number. lots to work with!

anywaysss... yeah planning another total one-off thing that I will probably post and do nothing more with just like other designs

I have one picked out and I'm toying with how to characterize them, as in my opinion even though the Virtues represent, well, Virtues, they are also their undoing in some way or another and are still quite flawed due to their adherence to them. from what little we saw in the pilot. I guess the proper word is "excess" in some contexts.

but, uh, yeah, that's happening.

I keep deciding I want to change things on the stilt-walkers, this is might take me a while. I only just started "fleshing out" the other one too, and god knows what I'm going to waffle on with the background. :v

This goes for over here as well. Not leaving, but also giving people options ahead of time.

on one hand, tumblr has had a lot of dying scares to the point that I’m not overly worried just yet

on the other, the remaining staff being around 25 people total and the general state of the world, tumblr being largely nonprofitable, etc. I am still more worried about it than I’ve been with past scares.

I’ve been on this hellsite as my main haunt that I genuinely do not know what I’ll do with myself if it goes. I was around for the livejournal crackdown and that shit sucked. but this feels bigger because I’ve been here far longer. my other places I’d frequent over the years have degraded or are just not options at all anymore, and tumblr has been my go-to for… 14 years or so now. I have several blogs, I have a lot of drafts across them all, and figuring out how to export it all in a way I can still read stuff is… daunting.

I’m not jumping ship until this site literally goes down completely.

that being said, you can find me at BlueSky under @acrosanti.bsky.social but at this point in time I’m not very active there. it’s the nicest alternative I’ve come across but it’s still very Twitter 2.0 and I was never a huge twitter fan.

My dumb boy Cinnabar is finally, finally getting a reference sheet 8-ish years after he manifested in a dream and I managed to capture his vague idea down on paper before I forgot.

I keep redrawing over the base sketch because I feel like I'm not doing his wack-ass stretched anatomy correctly.

I went looking for a sketch I swear posted of Banette back in the day... just to be completely unable to find it anywhere. Either online or in my files. So I drew Banette from memory of how I drew it before.

The snout was a feature from before's iteration and I tried to back away from it, but it just didn't look quite right.
