Shockwave x Reader

• Startling awake when your big mate’s chassis pushes against you upper back as he tries to spoon you, you grunt. And you’re squirming to get free before he wedges you into a little, uncomfortable ball. Again. Because his body definitely isn’t made for sleeping like this. Falling on your hip as you wiggle over one of his arms to escape, a foot in the air as his legs bend at the knee. Sleeping with him mostly dealing with his weird frame forcing you into unpleasant positions.

• And he’s dead to the world, an antenna flicking slightly. Standing up, you press your palms against your spine, stretching out the kinks. You suppose it’s sweet that he wants to recharge mass shifted and cuddle you, but he’s just so bad at it. Pretzeling you until you can barely breathe sometimes. Watching his antenna shift again, you sit on his shoulder. Those things remind you of bunny ears, you’d told him that exactly once and he’d droned on in excruciating detail about their purpose and that they’re sensitive. Leaning, you trace the edge of one, smiling when it flicks. And you’re fully invested, seeing how light a touch you can manage before his antenna reacts.

• Stifling a snicker as you keep petting and teasing him, it takes you a moment to realize his biolights are cycling. That you can smell that spiced musk of his that thickens whenever he’s horny. Are his antenna erogenous zones, then? You are about to start laughing as you brace a hand on his helm and lean down to run the tip of your tongue along his antenna.

• And you hear a rasp as his antenna flatten back, looking over your shoulder to see he’s released his spike. Shockwave’s still out, too. Optic dim as you slide off his shoulder and reach out to slide a finger along the underside of his spike and his biolights pulse brighter as his spike twitches. “Shocky?” Leaning down, you slide your tongue against the head of his spike.

• Startling online, his head turns trying to find you and he groans feeling your mouth on his spike. Can’t see you around his chassis, but doubts anyone else is down there sucking his spike. “Thirteen?” He growls just to be certain, hips lifting when you blow on him with a soft ‘mmm?’ And he shudders, feeling your soft hand push against his thigh and he rolls onto his back obediently. Watching you straddle his thigh, leaning up to look at him. ‘Hi,’ you whisper and his head tips. “Do you wish to interface?” He asks hopefully and you laugh, before your head is lowering and the wet heat of your mouth closes on his spike again.

It was getting late, but you had slumped into bed hours ago, doomscrolling. Since you're the only human onboard the Nemesis, you were the only one to constantly point out how frigidly cold it gets when the ship rises to higher altitudes. Of course, Steve just laughs and waves you off every time. Bastards, the lot of them.

It's not that you disliked the cold; you love it. Better up here than down on Earth, where your hometown is currently sweltering in the summer heat, you think. No, it's that fact that you'd much rather shiver under these blankets with Shockwave.

Your Cybertronian lover is strict with his work, and you respect him with the whole of your body, so you dare not distract him until he's finished for the day. So, like a poor, lonely wife whose husband has been dispatched for war, you lay there lonely in your darkened, shared berthroom with only the light from your phone bathing your face.

You curl the blanket around yourself more, your thumb flicking aimlessly as you wait patiently as ever.

The next thing you remember is the vague feeling of the berth below you shifting and a cold draft of the blanket being lifted. You don't remember it happening, and you never do, but you must have dozed off. Your phone, long since slipped from your fingers, lies face up on the berth as evidence. You feel Shockwave slotting himself behind you, not taking him long to snake a thick arm around your waist.

"I apologise for my prolonged absence, love."

"Mhmm, it's okay," you mumble sleepily, your hand finding his, "Just glad you're here now. I was getting cold without you."

"Core temperature is reading normal, and your organic body is quite capable of sustaining itself without me; that is rather illogical of you."

With an ex-vent against your neck, you feel him press his large frame against your back as he settles into the berth. Most people would believe most bots to be cold, which is true for the most part, but Shockwave tends to run hotter. It probably has something to do with the amount of computing that occurs within that frame of his. Once again, you're not complaining at all.

"Blah blah blah, illogical this, illogical that," You roll over to face him, eyes closed with a mischievous sleepy grin on your lips, "Your logic still doesn't stop you from cuddling with me every night."

Shockwave's audial fins twitch as his gaze wanders down to look at you; the only way you can tell is by the red glow of his optic through your eyelids. He's in deep thought, and it seems you have won the playful argument. You feel him wrap his arm around you tighter, the other finally curling underneath you to wrap you in his full embrace, pressing you against his chassis.

"Indeed, you are... correct," He cups the back of your head to run his digits through your hair, "I have come to enjoy our usual coupling."

"I'm not sure if you know what that means in our slang."

"Oh, I am quite aware."

A small blush blooms on your face, and you bury your face in his chassis. You feel the vibrations of his chuckle, a rare treat only you often get to hear, "You're so annoying."

"Hush now," Shockwave rests his helm above your head, now completely cocooning you, "You're well overdue for your rest cycle."

It doesn't take you long to fall victim to your drowsiness. With a familiar warmth finally accompanying you and with his digits gently combing through your hair, you soon drift off to sleep. Shockwave observes silently before finally deciding to join you. Your forgotten phone goes dark as it times out, and the red glow of his optic powering down plunges the room back into darkness.

After enough consideration of my own I have concluded the reason these two are the odd ones out because they are actually bugs that think in very different ways than everyone else 😌 it’s a sound assessment… must be why they just stare at things happening like you just lifted up a rock they, the insects, were under

Transformers prime decepticons as birds (ignore that two of them can’t canonically fly ok)

Soundwave - barn owl (only one where the original bird colors are completely changed. The barn owl has a distinct disc like face, black glassy eyes, and has great hearing, which i thought fit him very well, so that should make up for the color inconsistency)

Megatron - bearded vulture (the bird’s already piercing red eyes matches Meg well, along with the black/greyish feathers framing the face similarly to his helm)

Starscream - peregrine falcon (one of the fastest birds in the world. It has a distinct brow bone and the black/white face matches his helm somewhat)

Knockout - northern cardinal (a bright red bird with a spiked crown and black eyes)

Breakdown - blue indian ringneck (a blue bird with yellow touches, along with a red/orange beak like BD’s face)

Skyquake - great green macaw (a large green bird with red touches and a strong beak meant for crushing, blue wing feathers changed to match the glass of his cockpit)

Dreadwing - hyacinth macaw (a color variant of his twin: blue and yellow/gold)

Airachnid - rook (first considered making her a raven, but the rook’s already white beak matched her face better, plus iridescent/purplish neck feathers)

Shockwave - victoria crowned pidgeon (a purplish chest and a distinctive red eye matches him fairly well, plus his many antennae and wings sticking out of his silhouette kinda fits the feathered crown)
