The name Large Old Cup was chosen in the style of Dada poetry as referenced in the above excerpt from renowned Dada artist Tristan Tzara.
I went to a random word generator and clicked the button three times.
Dada art always struck me. I love the glorification of the nonsensical and absurd. If that’s not life then I don’t know what is. We’re born into a world of chaos, we try to make sense of it while we’re alive, and then we die without marking any significant change in it. So what’s the point, right?
Exactly.

Been listening to this non-stop for the past few days.
“Then all the old ladies, they are on their way to the church
You goin' to the church? I bet here I'll be a golden boy
Lookin' for the thing that I search, I keep on searchin”

My name is Corey and you’re here with me now.
Large Old Cup is a spoken word show in the same vein as Henry Rollins.
I rarely know what I’m going to say before I start recording and I don’t give myself the opportunity to reflect on what I say before posting it. There are no edits to the show at all. Each episode is 29 minutes and 27 seconds long as I delete the previous audio and record a new one between the intro and outro song.
The goal is to provide something that feels sincere, honest, and raw.
With roots in punk, philosophy, DIY culture, and dada art, Large Old Cup is the art form I choose to communicate with the world at large.
So be recklessly brave, delusionally confident, and hopelessly optimistic.

Rest In Peace to a trailblazer, an icon, and a certified oddball, weirdo, and artist.
David Johansen left us last week after a long fight with cancer.
The New York Dolls were legends, the characters he played in movies and tv were amazing, and the man had a set of pipes on him with swagger to match.
Thanks to David I will always spell love L-U-V!

To people new to Large Old Cup, every week Corey also gives out a song recommendation.
This week it was a two-for-one as the pick was “If This Tour Doesn’t Kill You, I Will” and “DVP” from the album “The Dream Is Over” by PUP.
