My name is Hayley and I am writing a book about a diverse group of young teenagers that are from all over the world. My Protagonist Svetlana is a Ukrainian girl that lived in Ukraine for as long as she can remember. She has two parents and a little sister named Katya. When the Russian invasion of Ukraine started her parents were killed and her house was bombed. Svetlana and Katya had to flee because of this. Three years later Svetlana has been living with her aunt and sister. Svetlana was always a loner with no friends. Ever since the Russian invasion she hated everything to do with Russia. Her misbelief is that every single Russian is bad. Her fear is encountering a Russian. One day Sevtlana meets a American girl named Lilly. They become friends because they are both have common interests and they are both immigrants. Lilly parents being from Yugoslavia and had to flee because of the civil war. Lilly’s parents had her in America. Lilly came up with a club and wanted to invite all her friends from diffrent places in the world to a club that she called HIAA (stands for helping immigrants adjust to America) . The club’s mission is to to support immigrants and promote peace. The group has five members with their own personal struggles and their own personal perspectives. Maya has been living in the US for 9 years of her life and was born is Palestine and has a mom from Israel and a dad from Palestine. She is heart broken when she learns about the war. She is a comedic relief character and lives life to fullest and makes the best out of things. Vladimir is a Russian boy that lived in the us for fairly long. He is cold and distant and doses not like the government. When Svetlana meets Vladimir and learns that he is Russian she hates him due to her fear and misbelief. She constantly says rude comments towards him and makes him feel bad. Vladimir has suicidal thoughts due to what Svetlana says about him he even tried to do it but did not end up taking his own life. The group ends up hosting a event at school and Lilly puts each member into a group. Svetlana and Vladimir are forced to work together on a speech and they are furious with Lily. There is also another character named Mercy that I forgot to mention. She is a shy Japanese girl that had to leave Japan because her parents lost their restaurant. They now have a new restaurant in America they struggle to get by and Mercy is home sick. When Vladimir and Svetlana work together they push there differences aside and realize they are not too different after all. They both become friends. They crush it when they do their speech. Svetlana is given from her aunt Tressa a necklace with a weird printing in Russian on it. Then she shows it to Lilly and Lilly looks up the necklace and that necklace was the same necklace that the czar family wore. This means that Svetlana is Russian and is next in line to be the ruler of Russia.
