Bucky will most definitely take the leadership role of the team at first. Not because he wants to, because he feels obligated to.

Let me explain...

In his eyes they are all "bad" guys in some ways, especially Walker and Bob. Walker he just doesn't trust because of their past history. And Bob is just too mysterious, Bucky doesn't know anything about him. He knows that Bob is not inherently evil, but he did just witness becoming the embodiment of depression.

He feels like it's up to him to keep everyone in check, because who else will? He can't just let these criminal go run wild.

Whenever someone tries to take control and suggest a plan, he'll just wait till there finished, and be like "You finished? Right, so here's what we are actually going to do."

But over time he'll learn to loosen the grip on the leash a little, and hopefully he could be the chill teacher that just sits at the front of the classroom and let students talk it out.

okay soo... yelena loves going to that cute little coffee shop near the watchtower, and when she does, she knows she won't hear the end of it if she doesn't bring anything back for the others. coffee orders incoming:

alexei will drink anything. you could add diesel fuel to his coffee and he'll drink it. hot or iced, whatever milk or milk substitute, it doesn't matter as long as you give him two cups of it. whenever yelena wants to try out a new drink without committing to it, she gets it for him and takes a sip beforehand.

john takes his coffee black. he says he can't drink it any other way because he got so used to it in the military. sometimes he'll sneak a bit of sugar in it when no one's looking, but he always orders a black coffee.

bucky will order either an iced americano, a cold brew, or on occasion, a hot cappuccino, much to the others' surprise. "what? i like a little variety." yelena always asks him before heading out just to be sure.

bob doesn't drink much coffee because it makes him jittery, so when he does it's more of a treat than anything else. he might get a mocha frappé, or maybe a tea or something decaf. when he says he doesn't want anything, yelena usually picks out a pastry for him instead.

ava sometimes tags along for the vibes, but also to check out what the new "flavor of the month" is, which is her favorite part about this café. she's always trying a new flavor, and when she discovers cold foam, it changes the game for her iced lattes. sometimes she'll have the flavor added to the cold foam, sometimes the latte itself, sometimes both. the salted caramel cold foam is one of her favorites. and yes, she is a pumpkin spice enjoyer when it's in season.

yelena drinks coffee a lot of the time, usually iced coffee. sometimes she adds a flavor or a little almond milk, sometimes she likes the astringency of the coffee on its own. she also likes a good matcha latte. she's very into interesting flavor profiles, so when she isn't in the mood for coffee, the earthiness of a matcha latte is her go-to. as long as she gets enough caffeine to put up with the others, though, she's fine.

and of course, she uses valentina's credit card and leaves a generous tip for the poor baristas fulfilling her outrageous coffee orders.

People are saying that Walker's shame room being about his divorce and neglecting baby is unrealistic, but I just assumed the shame room brings out the regretful thing that is nagging you the most at the moment.

My understanding of Valentina, and how she sees the Thunderbolts* is that, she doesn't care for shit.

She mentioned it several times in the film but she thinks they are bunch of low-life that aren't fit for daylight activities. What amount of good press, or good action on their part is going to change that? I think she'll make a half-ass attempt at making the public accept them (note that I said accept, not love), and just throw them into the wild. I think she will still use them as the Avengers, but for more undercover ops and cleanups, all in the name of tactical operations. She'll probably make them do the dirty work, just with a different branding so it won't raise any suspicions.

Bob Reynold ends most of his sentences in question marks, even when he doesn't mean it as a question.

Adding onto the common HC I’ve been seeing of John being the group cook — he is DEFINITELY the “get the fuck out of my kitchen while I’m cooking” type of person, like you walk in to get a glass of water and he is like “fuck off no I WILL get you water do not DISTURB my cooking. Here. Now LEAVE.”

I like to think he’s mainly like that cuz he likes to solely focus on what he’s doing, and alot of the others end up commenting or asking too many questions — this kinda feeds into my undiagnosed OCD/Autism HC for John — and it’s just annoying and overwhelming. But not Bob. Bob is allowed to stay.

John has declared Bob can stay because he is — as John puts it — “a respectful spectator”. Which started as Bob sitting in the common area near the kitchen doing whatever while John cooked, then slowly migrating over to the opposite side of the kitchen island. Then that evolved into Bob randomly saying little tidbits of how his day was and then it ended with Bob just coming in to yap about whatever while John cooks while replying ever so often but mostly just letting him talk.

John now finds a strange sense of comfort in his rambling and everyone else is like “why can he stay and we can’t” and John is like “cuz he’s Bob and you’re not.” And Ava teases him RELENTLESSLY for it like — “oooh someone’s playing favourites” and John just tells her to fuck off cuz in all honesty, he IS playing favourites.

I just hit 3k on my fic. The pure joy I felt seeing that people are engaging with my work, like leaving kudos and commenting, cannot be expressed by words.

Especially when English isn't my first language.

Especially when I've been told that writing isn't for me, that it's unlikely I will become a writer in English or my mother tongue.

Especially when I am at my lowest, and fighting through constant waves of mental breakdowns and self-doubt.

Y'all, I am tearing up.

NYPD: This just says, "The new Avengers can do what they wants" with Contessa de Fontaines signature.

The first few days at the tower they think Bucky is this tired old man, that is grumpy and serious all the time.

Then they start noticing that sometimes he smirks a little while saying something. Only slightly. Yelena notices it first. And the other starts catching on. Soon they realise that Bucky is either suppressing the urge to laugh (because the the team reminds him of the Howlies), or just being sarcastic (the team didn't notice because they thought Bucky wasn't capable of joking).

Now they secretly make it a mission to make Bucky laugh out loud. It happens once every other month but it's worth it every single time. The team has a log somewhere that tracks who made Bucky laugh how many times. John has been claiming that he has made Bucky laugh more than it says on the log, but he made Bucky scoff at best, no one's taking him seriously.

Bucky used to be funny, he used to be clever, he used to be charming. I sincerely hope that the Thunderbolts brings that part of him back without making him feel like he has to. Because, as much as I want him to be laughing, I also don't want Bucky to feel like he is obligated to.

thunderbolts trip to the mall (for "team enrichment" or whatever alexei said)

- bob asks if they can go to build a bear after leaving every store they enter. eventually, they tell john to just take him and meet them back in the food court

- yelena picks out outfits for ava to try on and makes her give them a little fashion show after everything she tries

- yelena holds onto everyones wallets (in her vest pockets) because bob left his at macys one time and they had to scour the entire mall to find it again

- john and ava threaten to push each other off the escalator every time they go near it

- spencers is yelena'a favorite store cause she thinks all the lewd gag gifts are hilarious. they become a whole lot *less* hilarious, though, after alexei starts loudly announcing to the entire store why exactly he finds each thing funny. they dont take him back there after that.

- ava's favorite part of the whole mall is the auntie annes. shes almost bob-level persistent that they *need* to go to auntie annes

- alexei falls for the ridiculously priced mall kiosks that sell phone cases and stupid gag gift shirts, every time. "but theyre telling me that buying five ear pods is a better deal than buying one!"

- theyre all banned from claires. i wont be elaborating.

I have a bad habit of making background characters have actual personality, so much so that I feel an urge to write a story just about them.

There's a scene in my fic when the Thunderbolts are getting ready for a press conference, and Bucky asks one of the makeup artists if Mel is doing okay, and the makeup artist just answers, "Alive."

Then the other makeup artist goes "Dead on the inside tho"

If that's not Gen Z coded I dunno what is.

Now I gotta write a whole another story about the relationship between Mel and this makeup artist, cuz girrrrrl? They share the tea.

Now I am reevaluating my Bucky head canons, because I will use any excuse to represent OCD in fiction.
