Best Halloween Ever (Joker x OC)

Sorry this is late :( I had to work on Halloween unfortunately! But I finally managed to finish this and I’m super happy! This is for @leblancc​ and her awesome event! I hope you enjoy this darling!

Halloween was Bernadine’s favorite time of year and it was a tradition for her to party as if her life depended on it! But this Halloween party was gonna be different. Why? Because she was now a member of the Phantom Thieves and was dating the leader to boot! Because of her busy lifestyle as a singer-songwriter, most of Bernie’s previous relationships were casual flings that didn’t go anywhere. But with Akira, it was much different and she could tell that things between them were going to be permanent. Maybe even leading to marriage? They had been dating for about a year and a half after all.

The dark-skinned beauty shook those thoughts out of her head as she admired herself in the mirror, wearing her Halloween costume which was the dress that Jennifer Connelly wore in the film Labyrinth during the ballroom scene. Bernie considered dressing up as Aaliyah or Tina Turner but something within her told her that this wasn’t the year for that.

Bernie was hosting her Halloween party in her large mansion and obviously the rest of the Phantom Thieves were invited and of course some of their allies too assuming they could make it. As for her family, they were in the USA so obviously they wouldn’t be present. Her parents and siblings lived with her so that was a comfort for her at least. Family was everything to Bernie and she was very close to them. Something that most of her previous lovers didn’t understand. Another thing that set Akira apart from them since he got along with her family pretty well with comedic results.

Feeling arms wrap around her waist, Bernie smiled as she saw Akira in his own costume which was Jareth from the same film Labyrinth. He looked incredible as expected. Grabbing her phone, Bernie decided to take a selfie of her and Akira and he kissed her cheek as the camera flash went off. 

“You look amazing babe. The others are on their way here and I’ve already prepared the food and drinks. Too bad your uncle Elroy couldn’t make it. I was hoping to see what crazy stuff he and his girlfriend would get up to.” 

“There’s no way Uncle Elroy would be able to be in Japan with how crazy he acts! Plus marijuana is a big no–no in Japan which would make him go even crazier!” 

Hearing the doorbell ring, Bernie gave Akira a quick kiss before rushing to open the door. As expected, she was greeted by Ann, Futaba, Ryuji, Yusuke, and Haru, each dressed up in their own costumes. 

“Hey guys! Where’s everyone else?” Bernie smiled happily as she welcomed them in and hugged each of them tightly.

“It’s gonna take a while for them to get here and some of them might not even come at all. It took forever just to convince Futaba to come! Sojiro’s not coming unfortunately so that’s one guest down,” Ann wrapped her arm around Futaba’s shoulders which made the computer genius groan and move away. Poor baby!

“You’ll have lots of fun Futaba! Just take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy yourself! We’ll have a lot of food and drinks so at least you can stuff your cute little face!” 

Bernie playfully pinched Futaba’s cheek which made her squeak. So adorable! 

Bernie’s parents came downstairs and were dressed up as Belle and Adam from Beauty And The Beast. Even though her mother Kimberly was suffering from breast cancer and had changed physically, she still looked beautiful without putting in much effort and could light up an entire room. Bernie had a huge smile on her face as she rushed over to her mom and hugged her.

“You look beautiful Mom! Great costume!”

“Uhhh what am I? Chopped liver?”

Bernie turned to her stepdad Hiroki and giggled at his pouting. Kimberly kissed his cheek and nuzzled his neck. Awwww!

“You look great too Dad! Where’s Ashley, Ashlyn, and Keith?”

Ashley and Ashlyn were twins and older than Bernie while Keith was the youngest and still a kid. She expected her siblings to be present the most damn it!

“Ashley and Ashlyn had to work tonight and Keith is out at the movies with his friends. Properly chaperoned of course.”

Kimberly would never let Keith go out unsupervised after all! A knock at the door got everyone’s attention and Akira answered the door only to come face-to-face with Makoto, Sae, and Zenkichi. Makoto was in a costume while Sae and Zenkichi were not. That wasn’t much of a surprise.

“You guys are late. That’s pretty rare. Something you wanna tell us?” Akira smirked at Sae and Zenkichi and they responded by rolling their eyes and averting them. So there was something!

“Shut it kid! Before you ask about Akane, she’s not coming because she’s out with her friends. But she definitely sends her regards. Is that food? I haven’t eaten all day.”

Everyone else had already gone to serve themselves some food from the kitchen and there was a lot of food. That was typical in Bernie’s house! She could eat a whole hippo and ask for seconds!

Over time, many other people began to arrive that Bernie and Akira both knew from their own circles and the music began to play on the large sound system. Even Akechi came! Much to his chagrin of course.

Little did Bernie know, Akira had a huge surprise for her that she didn’t see coming! Feeding her some delicious food, he leaned over and whispered in her ear. 

“I have a surprise for you. Dance with me.”

Suddenly the music changed and Bernie’s eyes widened as she recognized the song. It was As The World Falls Down by David Bowie from the film Labyrinth. It was very fitting considering their costumes.

Bernie let Akira lead her into a slow waltz and as the song played, he began to sing along softly to her. Bernie never had such romance with someone before and she felt like her heart was gonna pound out of her chest!

Looking deeply into Bernie’s eyes, Akira got down on one knee as the music stopped and got out a beautiful ring. Everyone including Bernie gasped and all eyes were on them. 

“Bernadine Nicole Harrington. The last year and a half with you has been the best time of my life and you’ve brought me more joy than I deserve. You make me want to be a better man and I want you to be in my life forever. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”

Bernie was frozen in shock and for the first time in a long time, she was actually crying. She always wanted to get married but never thought that it would be possible. To think that Akira would change that!

“Yes Akira! Yes I’ll marry you!”

Bernie tackled her now fiancé and showered him with kisses while everyone cheered and clapped. Akira put the ring on Bernie’s finger after standing back up and dipped her before kissing her again. 

The party eventually ended and after everyone left, Bernie went back upstairs to change out of her costume and saw Akira already in the bed in his PJs. Damn that was fast!

“Are you gonna keep looking at me like that or are you gonna join me?” Akira purred as he did the come hither motion with his finger. 

This was indeed the best Halloween ever!

To the last person who send an ask: idk if it would be helpful at all as I never beat Lavenza (I never did NG+ in P5 yet as I'm focusing on playing as many megaten titles as possible rn and P5 is a long game so replaying it takes a lot of time) but from someone who played many Persona and SMT games my strategy in difficult fights is using buffs/debuffs a lot (Yusuke have perfect skill for that in 3rd semester) (keep an eye of it all the time if buffs/debuffs are still active, you should cast them every 2-3 turns just in case), observe enemy's action and change Personas accordingly -have Personas in your stock than can Null/Repel and use them accordingly (also change party members mid-fight (Hifumi's confidant bonus) like if she uses for example Ice attack, change to Yusuke so he could Repel (if you applied that skill to his Persona)) also use Personas with more than one elemental attacks so you could chain Baton Passes and have more turns to apply buffs/debuffs/heal, use Charge/Concentrate so you could deal much more damage (again, if I remember correctly Ann had perfect skill for that), also buy a shitloads of SP restoring items, oh and also don't wait too long with healing (when I'm anxious about the fight, I'm actually using healing spells every turn)

Idk if that's gonna be helpful because like I said I never did NG+ in P5 yet but it's general tips that helps in 99% of Persona/SMT fights so I hope that's gonna help at least a little bit

In worst case, if that's won't help at all, don't be scared to use guides, imo that doesn't count as cheating especially if like you said earlier you tried to beat her whole week

Hello my darling Phantom Thief 😘 Have you ever beaten Lavenza in Persona 5 Royal? If so, what strategy did you use? I’ve been trying to beat her ass all week and she’s aggravating me 😡😡😡 I’ve literally done everything else in the game (even completed the Compendium) except kick Lavenza to the curb!! HELP 🥺

i haven't beaten lavenza (and i don't think i will), so i unfortunately can't offer you any tips or strategies :(

but if my track record of being a decent gamer has taught me anything, would looking into a guide help you? i like to watch youtube videos of players doing it and others where they explain efficient methods of doing so. the same can be said for reading articles about her different phases and how to counter them. if you haven't done this already, perhaps you have to increase/max your persona stats (strength, magic, etc.)?

I have a question regarding collab if I may ask because I'm not 100% sure if I understood properly - for fics you can write any (sfw) story that contains your character of choice, right? Cause I'm not sure if you accept only character x oc/reader stories or you can write about a story about only canon characters without any oc's or s/i in it? Cause I'm not sure if it HAD to be story with oc's or s/i or if it can be just a casual fic with only canon characters?

Also it can be any character from persona/mainline smt games, right? I mean, do you accept characters from games like Persona 1 and 2 as well or you just accept characters from P3-P5 & SMT IV/V?

I'm thinking about participating (still not sure yet) and answering these questions would really help me make my decision!

you can write a fic with solely canon characters if you wish! including a reader / ocs / self insert is not a requirement and entirely up to you. you can include or exclude who you choose :)

characters from persona 1 and 2 are welcome here, and so are those from any of the smt games! protagonists, antagonists, confidants, really anyone you can think of.

AKIRA KNOWS SOMETHING IS WRONG. he briefly wonders if it’s a sixth sense; or he just knows you that well to pick up on even the most minor differences in your behavior; perhaps both. regardless, it doesn’t matter—at least not right now. he’s never dropped everything so fast after seeing how downcast your expression was, and the tears staining your cheeks gave him another reason to do so.

the mouthwatering scent of curry was faint as it wafted around your boyfriend’s makeshift bedroom, efficiently overpowered by the aroma of coffee beans that followed him like cologne. beneath it all and trying to sneak its way through is a fragrance that’s all his, one you consider safe despite the world around you. free of the ridicule and hurtfulness of cruel words and dismissals. home, if someone asked you, was wherever he was.

“hey, i’m here for you.”

his gentle whisper brushes against the shell of your ear. any other time it may have made you laugh, smile and flush at the very least because it made a chill run up your spine and he knew that. his tone is so soft and nonjudgemental that you don’t seem to expect it but warm up to it instantly nevertheless. tears that you helplessly try to blink away line your eyes and he minutely panics thinking he did something wrong, but his concern dwindles when you squeeze his hand and he immediately returns it.
